New thread!

OP posts:
SheilaNaGig · 13/10/2007 21:01

Tis WWB ... I have changed my name for a number of reasons.

Might stick with this, might not - but it will do for now!

JackieNo · 13/10/2007 21:28

Hi Sheila. Will take a bit of getting used to, I suspect, for all of us (and you too). How are things?

SheilaNaGig · 14/10/2007 15:46

Oh, fair to crap, I think just about sums it up

This name is definitely going to take some getting used to ...

JackieNo · 14/10/2007 16:52

You know, I think I did know what a SNG was, but just googled it/you (so to speak) to remind myself and . Also the first bit is my MIL's name.

SheilaNaGig · 14/10/2007 16:58

Hmm, maybe I need a rethink!

I had a book on Celtic mythology open at the time and just grabbed the first thing that came to mind.

Perhaps not particularly appropriate.

JackieNo · 14/10/2007 17:00

The Wikipedia entry was what I was reading. Nice to see you here, though. See how quiet it's been without you. I'm afraid Kew and I have failed miserably on the recording weights too - sorry about that.

LongMeg · 15/10/2007 13:42

Here's a better one.

Wasn't meaning to cause any offence!

Kewcumber · 15/10/2007 13:50

Just found this thread again after having completely lost it in more ways than one! have a cold and so has DS and he's not at all well. Computer screen broken at home so risking certian firing by posting far too much on MN at work. What else.... obviously not even trying just now but will get back to it shortly. Not being hideaously awful though so hopefully won;t have put on too much.

Must go...

Sheila

Long Meg much better...

JackieNo · 15/10/2007 15:18

Kew - hope you and DS feel better soon.

LongMeg - I like the name (the other didn't cause any offence, just a bit . Might never be able to look at my MIL the same way again).

LongMeg · 15/10/2007 15:31
JackieNo · 15/10/2007 15:39

It's that picture on the Wikipedia site...

TigerFeetInLovelyNewShoes · 17/10/2007 11:44

LongMeg bug hugs

Hope all is well

We are quiet aren't we? I'd be happy to do the weights for a couple of weeks if that'd help. I am going to start weighing in again as I am putting on weight hand over fist - it needs to stop before I end up heavier than I have ever been

Belated happy birthday Jackie - hope it was a good one

MrsJC, sorry to hear your ds is suffering again - I really sympathise.

I seem to have ended up the parent of the amazing non-sleeping 3 year old, she will not settle at all and it's going on for weeks now. I am really struggling with the tiredness - my productivity at work is zilch and as for my eating... well I'm sure you knwo the rest

Kewcumber · 17/10/2007 11:47

I'm exactly where you are, Tiger.

TigerFeetInLovelyNewShoes · 17/10/2007 11:48
Kewcumber · 17/10/2007 12:26

ta.

Have a cold too.

As does DS.

Sniff.

JackieNo · 17/10/2007 20:23

Poor things, all of us - it's a strange time of year, isn't it. One the one hand I love autumn, the colours, and the freshness etc. But somehow everything seems to be too much atm - too hectic. It sometimes feels like a non-stop treadmill of drudgery.

DS has one of those coughs that wakes him up in the middle of the night coughing so much it sounds as if he's going to throw up. But otherwise pretty cheerful. Not in your league, Kew, TigerFeet, MrsJC. Hope things improve for you soon.

TigerFeetInLovelyNewShoes · 18/10/2007 14:31

aww KC hope you and ds are feeling better today

It is endless drudgery here atm Jackie, I know exactly what you mean

I have taken a few days off work starting from tomorrow to sort the sleeping thing (hopefully) once and for all. We have ditched her dummy today (3.3 and still has a dummy ) so tonight and the next few nights are going to be hell on a stick. I just hope it's worth it all in the long run, we are all near delirious from lack of sleep. The idea is, I deal with the nights, sleep through the day whilst dd is at nursery, dh pitches in at the w/e when he is at home. We'll see

JackieNo · 18/10/2007 15:29

Ooh - good luck, TigerFeet - it will make such a difference if you can get the sleeping sorted. So you're on night shifts for a bit. Thank goodness for MN eh.

TigerFeetInLovelyNewShoes · 18/10/2007 17:41

Oh yes indeed - expect to be seeing rather a lot of me over the next few days

JackieNo · 18/10/2007 22:11

Hope things go OK tonight, TigerFeet. What is it - CC or gradual retreat (is that what it's called?), or something else?

DD was in a school fashion show this evening - she had a whale of a time, prancing down the catwalk.

TigerFeetInLovelyNewShoes · 19/10/2007 23:29

We are doing a sort of combination of the two - not proper ccing but a bit firmer than gradual retreat - I am back at work on Wednesday so need to have it cracked by then.

Last night wasn't too bad but not a complete success, lots of to-ing and fro-ing until I finally flaked out around 2am and she crawled into bed with me and I was so zonked I didn't notice her! DH was asleep downstairs and found her in with me when he got ready for work this morning. We had to spend an hour at around midnight sorting through all her teddies in her room as she has some Looney Tunes ones and Wile E Coyote was scaring her, so we had to make sure that "I only have friendly toys in my bedroom Mummy" [sigh]

So far tonight she went to bed OK, has woken a couple of times but as I write is fast asleep in her own bed. Long may it continue!

No plonk for me though whilst it's all ongoing, can't cope with wine+tired+tired child+hangover = arrghhhhhhh

Glad to hear your dd enjoyed herself Jackie, what was she modelling?

JackieNoHeadJustABloodyStump · 20/10/2007 10:47

Hope last night continued as it started, TigerFeet. It's just the most draining thing, isn't it. Might she respond to a star chart for staying in bed, with rewards?

Most of them only did one outfit, and thank goodness most of the clothes were quite 'appropriate' - just some cargo trousers and a zip up top. She has been passed on loads of that sort of thing from friends, so we didn't buy those particular bits.

We're about to head off to South Wales for a few days, back Tuesday, so speak to you all then.

JackieNoHeadJustABloodyStump · 23/10/2007 18:08

Where is everyone? Now back from South Wales.

OozingSlashesFromTigerFeet · 26/10/2007 12:39

Heloooooooooo

Have you all clicked "ignore"

DD is sleeping better now, but only if I sleep with her

At least we are all getting those zzzzzzzzzzzz's

JackieNoHeadJustABloodyStump · 26/10/2007 14:27

At last - another person. It's been very lonely here. Glad you're getting some sleep (and liking the Halloween name). That's some progress, anyway.
