Who's in? I'm a mess.

I need a lot of work 😁

I'm going to try and ditch quite a few pounds and make myself more lovely again. I need a complete overhaul. Starting tomorrow obviously!

@OhioOhioOhio I got The Ordinary face peeling red stuff to do during lockdown but I've not got round to it. Its got excellent reviews and only cost about £6 so I will give that a go. I need all the help that I can get.

Oh! Also the Nivea In Shower Body Cream is brilliant and quick cheap lazy princessing.

ThornsInMySides · 15/06/2020 12:54

@DeterminedLittleBugger I agree that the Nivea firming stuff is pretty good.

I need to get into the habit of hand cream several times a day. My hands get very dry. I find the aveeno skin relief one the best. I have sensory issues and can't bear the feel of some creams. I do exfoliate my feet regularly and don't use softener in the towel wash to give me a bit of a scrub after a shower.

PrimalLass · 15/06/2020 12:59

I'm in. Have had the mild and long version of COVID, now thoroughly fed up. Have been left with acid reflux problems so can't rely on my usual HFLC version of quick-fix dieting. Hard core exercise is also a problem. Only bonus is that I won't be expected back in the office for months.

Would like to lose 1.5 stone to get to my look good in my lovely clothes weight.

SistemaAddict · 15/06/2020 14:25

This isn't going well. I'm hungry!!

ThornsInMySides · 15/06/2020 14:37

@Bercows I'm starving too. My stomach has some serious adjustments to make.

I’d already ate a rather generous croissant before I saw this thread...so the diet is starting tomorrow.

BUT

I’ve done the following;

Intensive Hair Mask
Exfoliating body with Italy Towel
Nivea in shower moisturiser
Painted Toe Nails a beautiful summery colour
Applied some makeup (IT CC cream, creamy bright lipstick, coral blusher, mascara and winged eyeliner).

Put on a bright coloured tunic-dress thingy which miraculously fits (really Tu at Sainsbury’s 12stone is a size 10? Don’t think so).
Nice summer perfume applied

Despite not being on a diet today I’m having Peri Peri Chicken and Salad from the Pinch of Nom recipe book tonight. Some really tasty low cal low fat recipes in there.

DeterminedLittleBugger · 15/06/2020 14:54

And now I’ve just missed my mouth whilst trying to drink out of my glass water bottle and spilled about 250ml all over my makeupped face and and brightly coloured miraculously fitting Tunic-Dress Thingy

ThornsInMySides · 15/06/2020 15:12

@DeterminedLittleBugger That's a lot of princessing, well done. I've filed my nails ready to paint tonight and have been putting hand cream on every hour to help my lizard like hands. I shall soon be a princess 👸

I keep forgetting that I am wearing makeup, I've rubbed my eyes and managed to somehow get lipstick on the clean laundry.

Oh I so need to join you!
I'm in serious need of a huge overhaul.
I am also the heaviest I've ever been and the most scruffy! Not a good look Blush
I started my weight loss on Saturday after eating 2 large packs of barbecue crackers on Friday evening Blush
I have PCOS so need to reduce my carbs, which so far so good I have! I've also done some pretty brisk walking - more than 12000 steps for the last couple of days & I'm feeling positive but need your help to keep on track.
I'm 5'9 and 13 St 4.....so wobbly it's unreal.

DeterminedLittleBugger · 15/06/2020 15:23

What hand cream do you use?

@ThornsInMySides

I love the Dr Organics Manuka Honey one from Holland And Barrett. It really helps lizard hands and is pretty cheap in the penny sale.

Princess Nails definitely make you feel better. I’ve not done my fingernails yet but I really should.

I’ve went a little bit spend happy since discovering this thread. Just bought a GHD Glide hot brush and some Kerastase hair treatments off Just My Look. I saved about £50 but spent £165 😱. My hair is ridiculous at the moment though. It’s actually touching my tailbone. I usually keep it mid back but haven’t had it cut since December. It’s all frizzy (naturally thick and wavy) and annoying. I’ve never had anything shorter than mid back but I’m thinking of donating 12 inches to the Little Princess Trust after lockdown and maybe getting a mid length sort of style or blunt shoulder length bob. Kind of scared though!

RHTawneyonabus · 15/06/2020 15:23

I’m super impressed that you lost so much since lockdown started! I‘Ve decided I can’t actually lose weight. I need to loose 10lb to take my BMI to a normal range and I just can’t do it. I do 16:8 run 5k every other day and try to eat healthily but nothing is shifting. I really need to sort my skin and hair out and get a pedicure too. So will be following for inspiration!

Charles11 · 15/06/2020 15:27

I’m in! I need to lose a couple of stone. I was looking a total wreck before the weekend but dyed my hair and sorted out my eyebrows so I look a bit better now.
I’ve walked loads today and had soup and Japanese rice crackers for lunch. I’ll have Some fruit for a snack and leftover chicken with rice and salad for dinner.
I’m starting a squat and sit up challenge too.
I’m also going on a social media diet. All the recent stuff and some people’s attitudes really upsets me. I’ll dive into a good book instead.

Kljnmw3459 · 15/06/2020 15:29

I'm in too. I've gained 6lb, all on my waist so I need to work on it. I can't do running without causing damage to my knees so will need to lose weight by less snacking, healthier food choices and more exercise such as circuit or pilates. I might be able to do power walking as well.

Kljnmw3459 · 15/06/2020 15:32

So far today I've had halloumi and jalapeno sandwich with mayo. And a double cream oreo. I'm an emotional eater so snacking is my downfall. Also, with young kids at home it is difficult to find time to exercise.

I know the feeling. lets lose our weight together. As women

ThornsInMySides · 15/06/2020 15:47

@DeterminedLittleBugger I'm currently using a Palmers coco butter hand cream, I don't rate it to be honest. I love the Palmers body moisturisers though, I always try new moisturisers but always go back to Palmers. I'm using the coconut one at the moment. Next body moisturiser in my stash is the Nivea q10 firming one. There is a lot of firming to be done.

I need this group! I took a 'before' photo of myself today and my belly is bigger than my 36E boobs. I can't see my feet if i look straight down, I'm the biggest I've ever been. I'm annoyed with myself for getting so big and also for letting myself go self-care wise. Somewhere within this rotund middle-aged body is my glamorous self waiting to reappear.

Stats are:
54yrs (& menopausal)
5'4"
12st 13.4lb
BMI 31.3 (obese)
40% body fat

I did keto for 3 weeks recently and lost 1lb - usually I can lose 8lb in first 10 days of low carbing, so was very disheartened. I started 16:8 today instead and logging food the on Nutracheck app.

Next step is to charge up my lumea and clarisonic and tackle my face and fuzz. I might paint my nails tonight.

Liz Hurley is older than me FFS! (although my role models are Monica Bellucci, Sandra Bullock and Lucy Liu) but they all go to show you can look fab at 50+

sparkle789 · 15/06/2020 16:19

Ooh I’m in.
Pre lockdown I lost about 18 lbs. I weighed myself on Thursday and had gained 5 back. So I’ve started slim fast aiming for 2 weeks to give myself a kickstart then I’ll do calorie counting.
I need to lose another 1 1/2 - 2 stone.
Also need to serious princessing! I’m feeling so
Blurgh. Any skincare advice my skin is very oily and it’s driving my mad. I’m on my hairdressers waiting list for a cut when they re open, and I’m thinking of doing a box dye but I get a bit overwhelmed choosing, can anyone recommend a brand it might help me narrow it down!

ThornsInMySides · 15/06/2020 16:22

Hello @Innitogether, don't worry I can't see my feet nor my fanjo come to think of it.

It all changes today, I'm just so fed up and annoyed with myself for letting myself go. It's going to take a lot of work I'm afraid, but I have at least made a start. Just need to keep it up.

DeterminedLittleBugger · 15/06/2020 16:24

I don’t dye mine but I help dye other people’s and Garnier Olia is always quite nice for a home dye.

However, a friend’s hairdresser made up her colour and left it on the doorstep...would something like that be an option for you?

DeterminedLittleBugger · 15/06/2020 16:27

@sparkle789 it it just oily or oily and spotty? La Roche Posay worked really well for me.

quarentini · 15/06/2020 16:31

Can I join please? I'm an absolute state!
I'm 4 stone over weight ( I cried)
My hair and skin are shocking.
I've got dumbbells and a skipping rope.

I'm using this as some kind of intervention 🤦🏻‍♀️
