Who's in? I'm a mess.

I need a lot of work 😁

I'm going to try and ditch quite a few pounds and make myself more lovely again. I need a complete overhaul. Starting tomorrow obviously!

My upper arms are 12" I've always had chunky arms. I used to rock climb and pole dance and had good upper body strength. I have skinny wrists, hands, ankles and feet though Grin

winterisstillcoming · 16/06/2020 12:16

Hey all.

I've had a reasonable start too. Late breakfast, poached eggs on toast planned for a late lunch. 5k steps on board.

I need to make a start on the princessing though. Trying for the full skincare shebang and painting my toenails today.

Hangingover · 16/06/2020 12:27

No idea of this will be any use to anyone but here's something me and DP have found really helpful lately. Hold off as long as possible on brekkie, just tea and water, then have a really big one at about 11, like the kind you'd have in a restaurant. So for example DP and me had mushrooms, spinach, baked beans, tomatoes, toast, a hash brown each and two vegan sausages. Then light tea with protein about 5 (we had one and a half curry tofu and veg sandwich each) then a small bite at about 8 eg. bowl of cereal/salad.

Prob not for everyone but it's knocked the snacking on the head completely for us!

SistemaAddict · 16/06/2020 12:52

I've just clocked a thousand steps doing step ups to a couple of my favourite songs. It's so muggy and sweaty here today. Not nice.

quarentini · 16/06/2020 14:24

I've hit my 10k steps and I'm now deep conditioning my hair.
Had soup for lunch and a banana for breakfast.
Been called to work at 530. Think it's a meeting about redundancy as we've all been called in.
I will walk there and back to get extra steps

Pippinsqueak · 16/06/2020 15:37

I had poached eggs, mushrooms and dry fried bacon for breakfast, soup for lunch and sausages and veggies for tea.

I've had 8 glasses of water so far, and black redbush tea (no sugar)

I've also tidied my nails and toes nails, sorted out my eye brows.

Tonight I'm going to look for a face cream to suit my face

Need to exercise more but I've only snacked on fruit and a small square of 90% dark chocolate

SistemaAddict · 16/06/2020 16:00

Dd made me toast for lunch. I didn't eat the crisps and had strawberries and raspberries instead. I'm trying to figure out what to do for dinner. I could do with a nap!

Youngatheart00 · 16/06/2020 16:14

I like the sound of doing the big breakfast / brunch idea but sadly work meetings aren’t going to permit, good idea for the weekends though.

About to drag myself out for a run, 3 stone lighter I was a regular half marathon-er, now I struggle to do 2 miles.

MummyGoingItAlone · 16/06/2020 16:20

I did a bit of yoga this morning and have started walking up and down the stairs (absolute killer!) to tone my legs. I also had a nice soak with some ESPA bath oils.

I’m back to Open Water Swimming on Thursday and that’s always a good calorie burn and makes me feel amazing!

SistemaAddict · 16/06/2020 16:43

I would love to go for an outdoor swim. We have a pool near us but it's being refurbished. I was going to take ds there for swimming lessons this summer but it's not to be unless things drastically change. It's a 30 min train ride away but it's worth the travel under normal circumstances. I love swimming but hate the before and after bit of getting changed and being seen half naked on the way in and out of the pool.

Youngatheart00 · 16/06/2020 17:21

I love the thought of outdoor swimming but similar body concerns (and is this open water or just outdoor poor?) if the former what if you touch a creature Shock squeamish

Run was predictably tough and I felt like a useless blob, not least as a group of lads started taking the piss out of me. So angry and upset about it.

ThornsInMySides · 16/06/2020 17:59

@Youngatheart00 I'm sorry that those lads took the piss. Utter fuckers. 💐

Ignore the twats. I always admire people who are making an effort to improve their health and are out where they can be seen by others. It doesn't take much to run in public when you have a runners body but it does when you are more padded like an excellent sofa rather than one of those sun loungers from the late 70s. I'm aiming for the right combination of more toned yet comfortable.

ThornsInMySides · 16/06/2020 18:24

I've got a really bad headache now. I'm pretty sure it's from the lack of Coke and chocolate. I have just taken some paracetamol so hoping they will work. I've had plenty of water today so I'm not dehydrated.

I was going to paint my nails but I don't want the nail polish fumes to make my headache worse.

Feeling sorry for myself but proud that I've done over 11000 steps so far today.

OP posts:
Youngatheart00 · 16/06/2020 18:42

Thanks both. It’s taken the shine off my pride at getting out there, even though I could only run for 17 mins. I just need to keep doing it, and one day those twats won’t be laughing any more. Not that I’m doing it for them, it’s for me, but I won’t let it stop me, despite a wounded ego. I can see why it was tempting to laugh at a wobbling red faced mess.

Well done on the 11,000 steps, that’s brilliant! Hope your headache goes away soon.

SistemaAddict · 16/06/2020 19:07

Da and I had porridge for dinner with sliced banana and golden syrup. We ate late due to watching boris. He's enough to spoil anyone's appetite!

I have got fresh bed linen for tonight and that always makes me feel good. I go to bed at 8 as I'm so tired. Ds sleeps in with me and will do until I can get out there and get him a bed and mattress. Online prices have tripled on the mattress I wanted so he's hogging my bed every night. It's amazing how such a small boy can take up most of a king size bed!

I'll make sure I do my 3 step again and my feet. They felt much softer this morning. They get so dry even though I'm not walking miles anymore. Ds has such lovely soft feet.

ThornsInMySides · 16/06/2020 19:15

@Bercows I changed my bed today too. I can't wait. I will be having an early night in the hope that I can sleep off my headache.

Just removed my make up, cleansed, toned and moisturised.

Can I join!? I am a complete and utter mess! Just weighed at 11.4 which is disgusting, and I've done no exercise since lockdown when I used to do a gym class 4 times a week and 2 runs! Going to try and run every other day to build up being able to do a decent distance!! I've felt so hungry lately too so snacking on junk - viscous cycle!! I would definitely feel better if I put a bit of make up on and put contacts in so I think I'll get back to that!!

DeterminedLittleBugger · 16/06/2020 19:57

Ughhhhh rubbish day today and all my best laid plans went to ruin. I did Princess in the way of exfoliating, moisturiser, moisture foot sock treatment, make up, decent clothes then...promptly blacked out. I’m coming off a medication that can make me ill for a few weeks with withdrawal symptoms; low blood pressure, low blood sugar etc. I was promptly woken up and presented with a bottle of lucozade, some salty crisps and a chocolate bar as per Consultant’s instructions. Not well enough to go for a walk. So the diet has gone badly today. And now I’m starting with horrendous ovulation pain...

But I do have lovely skin and pretty toe nails so there’s that...

SistemaAddict · 16/06/2020 20:39

DeterminedLittleBugger your health comes first and of you need chocolate and lucozade then don't worry about it. I hope you feel better tomorrow Thanks

We are watching a fantastic thunderstorm. I love storms. Wild weather speaks to my soul Grin

I want to eat lentil crisps 😩 I didn't eat as many as I thought yesterday. I was proud of myself for resisting last night. My stomach is rumbling and empty again tonight but I shall resist!!

Youngatheart00 · 16/06/2020 20:53

OMG I’m going to get an obsession with lentil crisps as a result of this group!!! 😂

I had to have a glass of wine tonight to cope with the humiliation of the run / taunting but I’m proud to say I stopped at one, and had breaded fish and veg for tea

DeterminedLittleBugger · 16/06/2020 20:55

Thanks Bercows

Fun fact...I was once shamed for eating an entire bag of hummus chips in one sitting whilst watching a movie...

SistemaAddict · 16/06/2020 21:11

Ha, I was ridiculed for eating a whole pizza one night by my then obese bf. I hadn't eaten all day and was hungry. I weighed 9 stone at the time. Really pissed me off.

Kljnmw3459 · 16/06/2020 22:24

I ate about 800 calories worth of biscuits. 400 cal sandwich, and portion of spag bol. And a huge scrambled egg sarnie with frankfurters. Tomorrow shall be better!

tracey47 · 16/06/2020 23:03

Hi all , I’m new to the forum and first time posting , hoping you will let me join this discussion as close to my heart . I am 50 years old , 2 stone over weight . No motivation and I’m feeling really low in myself . I don’t even know where to start . I don’t do much exercise infact at the moment I don’t even want to leave the house. Can anyone give me some advice about losing weight with food alone ? I feel so bloated and lethargic all the time
