Anyone else taking Alli during lockdown?

So the first eight weeks of lockdown I ate cake and drank Wine

Then I weighed myself and realised I was 12 stone 13 and 5 foot five, putting me in the obese category Blush

I decided to try Alli. The only thing that had put me off it before was the unfortunate side effects if you eat too much fat in a meal. Allegedly there is a risk you can shit your pants.

I figured as I currently leave the house once or twice a week, this would be the IDEAL time to try this particular tool out. I do see it as a tool, rather than some kind of Miracle Cure for Gluttony.

So I started taking it, only with meals that contain fat, and after just one week I am 12 stone 5!!! Bloody delighted.

I haven't had any accidents, but have had to scoot upstairs or out of bed a couple of times as you get far less time between thinking you need to go, and the , erm, event.

Also, apologies if TMI, I am having more frequent BMs and there is sometimes a sort of orange globuley film on the bowl which I believe is the fat.

Is anyone else using lockdown as a reason to try Alli? I couldn't possibly use it in my "normal" life which involves lots of packed commuter trains and long drives.

I tried these years ago, and even when I had a meal which wasn't all that high in fat, I dribbled orange oil. I had to wear a sanitary pad just incase I broke wind and had an accident! It was truly awful! Would obviously be easier staying at home though. best of luck x
Same here. I know someone that leaked orange oil all over her wedding dress. I’d rather be fat 🤷‍♀️

@lockdownalli I used to go to bed at around 2am. In the last few weeks I've managed 11pm most nights so I'm getting better!

@Startoftheyear2020 you're right. I'm always in the kitchen cooking, I'm just one of those people who can't eat after cooking. My boys have very healthy diets and please may I brag when I say they love their fruit and veg and only drink water through choice 😁

I definitely need to adapt my habits before they notice my bad ones. Thanks for the kick up my fat ass 😂

I must admit to taking two Alli at a time when eating 2 sausages and scrambled egg made with butter and cream and still no "results". I wonder if I am not drinking enough water with them, usually half a glass and then a cup of tea.

Sorry @Charlieandthechocolatecake definitely not judging! Every small step we make is a good thing.

How is everyone doing ? I am 20lbs down since 10th June and still going strong!

SeasonallySnowyPeasant · 27/07/2020 12:56

I started taking Orlistat on Friday. I'm now trying to work out how to get an orange fat stain off the sofa without telling DP Blush

Startoftheyear2020 · 30/07/2020 22:21

Well done @princesshollysmagicalwand that's amazing! Keep going 😀

princesshollysmagicalwand · 11/08/2020 13:44

2st down now! Hope everyone else is still doing well. Mines definitely slowed down now.

@SeasonallySnowyPeasant I have just been prescribed Orlistat - I am collecting my prescription tomorrow. Had you eaten something fatty or did this just happen? Feeling slightly worried now
Slipperdayz · 23/03/2021 23:23

How did everyone get on?

Excitedforxmas · 23/03/2021 23:46

Well my white jeans were never the same when I took it .

I know this is an old thread, but since it popped up.
I was always curious what do people do about contraception? I considered Alli a while ago (went just with calorie counting) and this was a concern

Slipperdayz · 24/03/2021 10:47

@lockdownalli are you still taking it? I’m considering starting same reasons as you, at home so near a loo 🤣
