Anyone else taking Alli during lockdown?

So the first eight weeks of lockdown I ate cake and drank Wine

Then I weighed myself and realised I was 12 stone 13 and 5 foot five, putting me in the obese category Blush

I decided to try Alli. The only thing that had put me off it before was the unfortunate side effects if you eat too much fat in a meal. Allegedly there is a risk you can shit your pants.

I figured as I currently leave the house once or twice a week, this would be the IDEAL time to try this particular tool out. I do see it as a tool, rather than some kind of Miracle Cure for Gluttony.

So I started taking it, only with meals that contain fat, and after just one week I am 12 stone 5!!! Bloody delighted.

I haven't had any accidents, but have had to scoot upstairs or out of bed a couple of times as you get far less time between thinking you need to go, and the , erm, event.

Also, apologies if TMI, I am having more frequent BMs and there is sometimes a sort of orange globuley film on the bowl which I believe is the fat.

Is anyone else using lockdown as a reason to try Alli? I couldn't possibly use it in my "normal" life which involves lots of packed commuter trains and long drives.

thanks for taking the trouble to reply.

Mine have arrived early! Weigh in tomorrow then I will begin.

superstar63 · 10/06/2020 12:47

Mine arrived on Monday but coincided with scales dying so had to buy new ones and they are different to the old ones so will take a while to judge the results!

princesshollysmagicalwand · 11/06/2020 13:02

Well I'm two days in and no unpleasant side effects as yet!

superstar63 · 12/06/2020 16:01

Same here, no side effects and no weight loss either!

lockdownalli · 12/06/2020 16:48

I only weigh myself once a week but I feel it's been going well. Still haven't pooped myself Grin

Oh god I need this! A really bad instant consequence, rather than the slow barely perceptible consequence of gradual weight gain.

I've somehow gone from on the cusp of being underweight to being overweight in the space of three years and I hate myself for it.

Where do you buy this from, can you recommend where to get it?

Four days in and decided to weigh. I've lost 5lbs! No bad side effects. Sticking to My Fitness Pal calorie allowance and being careful not to have too much fat at once.

Can see it's working by the toilet (sorry!) but nothing unpleasant.

Just another 4 stone to go Confused

superstar63 · 14/06/2020 08:45

I got mine from Weldricks pharmacy £23.99 for 84 - seems to be the cheapest around.

lockdownalli · 14/06/2020 10:43

OK- Grand Weekly Weigh In today.

12 stone 1. So that's 12 pound loss in three weeks, average of 4 pounds a week. This is much more than I would usually lose on an MFP calorie controlled diet so I am really pleased.

No horrid side effects and not rushing to the loo like I did first few days (which was followed by a few days of constipation) TMI, but everything is back to my normal routine, BM first thing every morning. Maybe slightly softer than usual.

I will be so bloody delighted if I am under 12 stone next week Grin

Princess Well done! It's very encouraging to have that initial big loss but don't get disheartened if it isn't as big next week, you need to look at it on a "rolling average" Grin

I need to get down to 10 stone 10 to be just about the top end of the "normal" BMI and I will be a size 10 at that weight. I have gigantic norks which will only lessen slightly in size.

It would be interesting to compare where we lose weight from. Although my arse isn't small and I have thigh chub rub, my main issue is with the front of my body and my upper and lower tummys Blush

I can definitely see the lower tummy is much smaller. I can see the colour of my pants when I stand up straight and look down now - hooray!

@lockdownalli At 4 and a bit stone overweight I actually need to lose weight from everywhere. I also have huge boobs, even when I'm such slimmer in a DD/E cup (am currently a H). I'm aiming for 10st, that puts me at the top end of a healthy weight for my height. However, I've never been smaller than this, and I look good at the top end of my healthy weight range. I'm not aiming for skinny, just normal sized.

Definitely want to concentrate on my tummy once the weight starts to really come off, I've got a preschooler and a toddler and two pregnancies plus one CS birth in the last couple of years has definitely taken their toll on that area! It'll never go back to how it was before but it can definitely be improved!

I am excited to start noticing a difference in clothes, I remember from losing weight ten years ago it was so nice to start fitting into smaller things!

fartyface · 14/06/2020 13:29

This is interesting, I might join you.

Nsky · 14/06/2020 13:29

Never tried, tho trying lower carb, 2 nd day, ended up eating a teasp of penny butter to stave off cravings.
So far so good, not hungry yet, more Atkins like with veg, only want to lose 4 lbs tho

superstar63 · 15/06/2020 09:39

Well done lockdownalli! Looking forward to see how you do next Sunday.

I am starting today to lose 15 lockdown lbs!

superstar63 · 15/06/2020 12:15

Do you take the Alli before or after the meal?

princesshollysmagicalwand · 15/06/2020 13:52

I do mine straight after I've finished eating @superstar63 but you can do it right before or during too.

princesshollysmagicalwand · 18/06/2020 07:30

So, one week in and I've lost half a stone. Not expecting it to be like that every week but I'm pleased with that!

lockdownalli · 18/06/2020 12:11

Brilliant!! Well done. It's very rewarding to have that big initial loss isn't it?

I am finding the weeks are just flying by at the moment so that seems to make it easier to keep on track.

Probably not until the morning Dorkass, or however long it usually takes for your meals to erm, progress through your system.
