Anyone up for sorting their lard body out? I've peaked with my fatness and I need to sort it. I can no longer hide. Tomorrow will be the day. Are you up for it too?

Keep going everyone!
I’m back on MFP and mainly not having the carb part of meals. My husband is thin as a rake and can eat whatever he likes so he is still having the potato/rice etc

wizzler · 19/05/2020 15:14

Redec that's so demotivating but keep going. At least you haven't put weight on ... cling to that positive

lou967 · 19/05/2020 16:50

I've taken some photos of my jeans that I want to fit into. If I feel not motivated or want to eat something unhealthy I'm going to look at them.

TrenchTown · 19/05/2020 17:33

@lou967 it makes me want to cry when I see my 19 year old daughters size 6 jeans and pants on the washing line. They are so tiny.

I found a beautiful skirt when clearing out the wardrobe that I bought when I was in my early 20s. It is a long fitted one - really lovely piece of tailoring.

I couldn't get one leg in it now! (I was really really skinny until I had DS in my mid-30s and thought I was just one of those naturally skinny people).

God that skirt is so tiny.

lou967 · 19/05/2020 17:35

@TrenchTown I've never been a 6. I have seen size 6 jeans and they are tiny. I'm not sure they're made for adults! Check out my thread on Calorie counting. I've added some pictures of my jeans! Let me know what you think

Lordfrontpaw · 19/05/2020 17:44

They didn't really have size six when I was a teenager.

helenb706 · 19/05/2020 17:51

Hi... you will find me on various threads, trying to shed the pounds
Started LL on Sunday so about to finish day 3 and I haven't sinned... nothing but water and LL.please can I join as I need to be accountable?

TrenchTown · 19/05/2020 18:00

@Lordfrontpaw I think size 8 was the smallest size available when I was a teenager.

Lordfrontpaw · 19/05/2020 18:02

I think you are right. I remember getting very excited when I found a size 6 dress.

The sizes have definitely got smaller since then - a 10 today would have been a 14 then.

lou967 · 19/05/2020 18:06

I've even seen size 4 in some shops

Lordfrontpaw · 19/05/2020 18:07

Yes - you do now - but you didn't really see that in the 70/80s. And people were generally skinnier back then, weren't they?

Lordfrontpaw · 19/05/2020 18:09

wow - a quick nosey (US stats):

Both sexes have gotten bigger since over the past 50 years. Men are 17.6 percent heavier — which translates into a roughly 30-pound gain. "At 195.5 pounds, put five American guys in a room and you've gathered roughly half a ton of manhood," Ingraham notes. In the same period, women's weight shot up from 140 pounds to just over 166 pounds — an 18.5 percent increase.

KeepWashingThoseHands · 19/05/2020 18:11

Checking in.

Nice salad for brunch but not scrimping too much as that's when I can't sustain it and also logging everything is helping. Chicken, sweet potato and veg for dinner.

Haven't drunk enough water so going to be downing some now before dinner.

Just one day at a time :) By the weekend we'll have less bloat. Goal 1!

TrenchTown · 19/05/2020 18:12

@lou967 how long do you think it will take you to slim into your jeans? I might go through my thin clothes for inspiration.

OP posts:
lou967 · 19/05/2020 18:18

@TrenchTown I'm hoping to have slimmed into them by Christmas. That's the date I've set. It could be earlier or later though. It certainly gave me a bit of inspiration when I found them this morning. There's some lovely jeans. I can't wait to get them on.

MaggieTheFrog · 19/05/2020 18:20

Is drinking lots of water good for bloat? I suffer with it terrible and always forget to drink enough.

SlightyJaded · 19/05/2020 18:37

I want to join but don't have scales. None of my clothes fit and I know I am way fatter than I've ever been. It was already bad before lockdown but I'd be amazed if I weigh less than 14 stone.

I managed to lose 2:5 stone a couple of years ago doing 5:2 so I will start there fasting Monday and Wednesday. Other days Isi.l 16:8 and stay under 1500 calls.

I'll try and find a way to weigh this week.

Thanks for starting the thread

RedRec · 19/05/2020 18:41

@YouKnowWhoo @TrenchTown @wizzler - thank you. I will not wait another month before weighing myself again! This thread is great - I feel more motivated and encouraged already.

justanotherneighinparadise · 19/05/2020 18:49

I managed to lose a stone in 6 weeks last year.

Snowdown24 · 19/05/2020 20:39

Will have a sneaky cup of tea tonight

JigoloHarMegiddo · 19/05/2020 21:51

Oof. Done ok with keto today, although I cracked and had some strawberries at tea time. Lots and lots of water. Hoping for a good week.

Moo678 · 19/05/2020 21:53

At the end of my first day of IF. It wasn’t too bad. I’m aiming for 11-7 but was in the middle of a meeting at 11 and thought it would seem a bit weird if I started chowing down so I actually didn’t eat til 12. Had a carrot then cup a soup and tuna salad with brown rice for lunch (was going to get soup from the hospital canteen but it was minestrone 🤮). Small bag of popcorn, yogurt and grapes for snack before I cycled home. Then spaghetti bolognese and a homemade chocolate brownie for tea.

I could maybe have eaten a bit less but the whole point of intermittent fasting for me is not restricting foods so I’m going to try a week of eating what I want and see how it goes.

My eating Window closed at seven and I’m desperate for some chocolate but resisting. Might look out some thin jeans for inspiration too.

lou967 · 19/05/2020 21:56

@Moo678 get your "thin" jeans out. Hang them up. Every time you want to eat or crave something go look at them. Imagine you wearing them when you've lost the weight. It works for some and not others. Good luck. You can do it.

Moo678 · 19/05/2020 21:59

@lou967 I will! Even though I haven’t been in them for a good five years I know exactly where they are!! Will hang them on my wardrobe door before I go to bed.
