Anyone up for sorting their lard body out? I've peaked with my fatness and I need to sort it. I can no longer hide. Tomorrow will be the day. Are you up for it too?

@Moo678 never say never! You can do it. Are they special jeans?

helenb706 · 19/05/2020 22:11

Night all... I'm really proud of us trying to achieve something good whilst all of this is going on. Ironicslly it is the thought of lockdown ending that is spurring me on as I can't fit into my smart clothes (not Jean's for that matter). 3 booze free days so far and not a crisp in sight.

LittleTopic · 19/05/2020 22:14

🙋‍♀️ Can I join?

I’m close to 14st and a size 14 pushing 16. Oddly enough, I’ve put weight on since going back to work - no more walks with the pram every day, I’m sitting at a desk with an office full of cake, crisps and canteen meals Sad

My main concern is my body fat which is close to 40%...I reckon 1.5 stone would put me back to being healthy, 3 stone is my absolute back in my size 10s dream Grin

KeepWashingThoseHands · 19/05/2020 22:15

@MaggieTheFrog

Yes, drinking water can help with bloat. Often some of the loss in the first week is excess water retained as we're dehydrated. So that's an easy coupla pounds down!

wizzler · 19/05/2020 22:22

Got through the day without a single Jaffa cake. Have eaten normally at mealtimes but only fruit for snacks and I took the dog for a really long walk. I know it's ridiculous but I do actually feel I have more energy.
A good start!

TildaTurnip · 19/05/2020 22:24

Day 2 of Cambridge Diet completed. I have drunk lots of water and not enjoyed the meal replacements but I also don’t enjoy being this fat so...

Really hoping for a decent weight loss this week to spur me on!

Louisesp82 · 19/05/2020 22:36

I'd like to join you..I'm putting on weight like nobody's business! Would like to lose 3 stone, but it seems impossible..love food, and have a sweet tooth!

InTheNorth123 · 20/05/2020 00:30

I had an ok day
Breakfast was 40g cereal with 70ml oat milk
Tea with remaining 30ml oat milk

Lunch was salad leaves, cucumber and two falafels

Tea was a stir fry

I had enough calories to have a small chocolate bar this evening. I've been trying to increase my water intake and stay away from tea because the calories in the milk soon add up!

I've signed up for the free trail on Noom. I don't think I'll pay for the six month sign up, I think I'll stick with mfp. Has anyone else ever used noom?

Twilbury · 20/05/2020 06:36

I had an awful day yesterday calorie wise. Went to bed feeling dreadful, today is my new start .

I have a really busy day ahead which should help.
Will go for an early walk
Dreaded home schooling of a teen
My own course work which I have been falling behind with.
A couple of hours of work emails
The usual house stuff to sort out.

I am also going to brave the skipping rope today Grin

Trandafire · 20/05/2020 07:05

All the talk of thin jeans reminds me. I have a dress that I got in a bag of clothes someone gave me years ago. When I'm a normal weight I can wear it but it looks ridiculous because it's not designed for boobs and squashes them down. But I never get rid of it because it's my gauge of how in shape I am and fitting into it is a point of pride 😂

justanotherneighinparadise · 20/05/2020 07:12

Another pound down this morning Grin

Trandafire · 20/05/2020 07:18

@justanotherneighinparadise are you weighing yourself daily?

Onthebrink67 · 20/05/2020 07:23

Can I join 11 3 and 5” 1. Would love to lose 3 stone but would settle for 2. I’m starting 16:8 today. Took a picture of myself in my jeans that don’t even nearly do up do they will be my first target.

justanotherneighinparadise · 20/05/2020 07:34

Yes. I weigh myself every morning and my smart scale plots a graph in an app.

JigoloHarMegiddo · 20/05/2020 07:45

@InTheNorth123, I tried Noom last year, but it couldn't accommodate food intolerances easily and the calorie counting did my head in. I'm far better doing keto in that regard. The who "support from a real person at the end of an app" was pretty rubbish IMO and made me wonder if it was a bot - kept telling me to try eggs and avocado when I'd told them they made me ill!

Moo678 · 20/05/2020 08:12

@Onthebrink67

I’m doing 16:8 too. Can I ask what you’re going to eat during your window? I thought it sounded perfect as I don’t want to count or cook special food for me. But i see most people seem to combine it with low carb or weight watchers or calorie counting. I’m trying to be sensible in my window but not treat it like a ‘diet’ otherwise I think I just won’t stick to it.

Onthebrink67 · 20/05/2020 08:54

Moo678 I was initially just eat normally certainly until I had got in the habit of 16:8. I will combine breakfast and lunch and so I hope will naturally eat less then and then eat normally in the early evening. I’ll try and keep snacks to fruit etc but with the odd treat in to stop it feeling too difficult.

LittleTopic · 20/05/2020 09:36

So, today has started OK...tea and toast this morning. I have foregone my usual croissant/brioche and am now drinking flavoured green teas! I like sugar in my tea normally, so limiting myself to my one morning cup Smile

Years ago my husband started a thing where he would only eat fruit before lunchtime, so breakfast was always an apple and a banana or something with a handful of berries mid-morning. We both did really well sticking to that, might try it again...

Should there be a weekly weigh in for general encouragement/support? Trying not to weigh myself every day 😂

SlightyJaded · 20/05/2020 09:51

I think daily weighing is a bad idea. There are daily variables - bloating/pmt that mean you might be a pound up or down - a weekly weigh in is best.

Trandafire · 20/05/2020 10:09

Ah ok, that's what I thought. My plan was to weigh myself every week because I might get demotivated if the result from one day to the next wasn't good. I lost a fair bit of weight years ago but I didn't have scales then, just went by what I looked like and what my clothes felt like. But this time it was weighing myself and calculating my BMI (and double-checking it because i was so sure I couldn't possibly be in the obese category when my size 12 clothes still fit Sad) that really gave me a kick up the arse, so I will actually keep track of it this time round.

justanotherneighinparadise · 20/05/2020 10:17

The only thing I will say about once a week is it’s really demotivating if there’s no change or even weight on. When I successfully used to do slimming world I always did a weigh in mid week and then I’d know if things were going well or not and make the appropriate changes.

I like a daily weigh in simply because my app then gives me lots of stats as time goes on. Horses for courses 👌

TrenchTown · 20/05/2020 11:20

I will be checking my weight mid week, just to see what's happening but will record my weight every Monday.

Such a lovely day today, I might do some weeding in the garden. I have taken my dogs for a walk up to the farm to buy some eggs, when I got there they had sold out.

Be good today everyone.

buggeroffvirus · 20/05/2020 11:34

I didnt do too bad yesterday doing low carb.
I had bought some low carb sweet potato rice from Aldi and it was the devils work, really awful but I ate it because I dont like waste. The cauliflower rice is lovely. I am beginning to think that my husband is a feeder. In the past he has always tried to tempt me with chocolate and sweets etc, only to then ask me what I am doing about my weight!. This time I am covertly going to lose weight for myself. I am quite looking forward to it. I hope everyone is well today and looking to the future.x

lou967 · 20/05/2020 13:16

Special k with skimmed milk and fruit this morning

Lunch was beef stew. Homemade and I've made enough to last the week.

withadivinebeatlesbaseline · 20/05/2020 13:58

I’ve tried 5:2 before but I can’t manage fasting, I need breakfast! I’ve had yogurt with a little muesli for breakfast and tuna salad for lunch.
Wednesdays are always pizza and wine day as we watch a particular tv show, but I usually think fuck it and eat rubbish all day. Not today!
