I've hit peak fatness

Anyone up for sorting their lard body out? I've peaked with my fatness and I need to sort it. I can no longer hide. Tomorrow will be the day. Are you up for it too?

So far so good this week, I'm managing to go from dinner in the evening, which we've usually finished eating by 7/7.30ish through to 12/12.30pm fasting without too much trouble. I have Coke Zero, water or tea with a splash of milk in the evenings and then black coffee and water in the mornings.

Today I've had a cheese and pickle sandwich at 12.30pm and a yoghurt about 3pm but I wouldn't say I'm hungry at the moment. I've got a very sedentary job though and am sitting at a desk for 9 hours a day, so not much exercise.

DH has joined me this week with 16:8 and that's helping. The kitchen is definitely closed after 8pm in this house! I am planning to do 30 mins exercise in the evenings starting from Monday too.

justanotherneighinparadise · 03/06/2020 21:45

Argh tough day today. I don’t feel well and had a sore throat for most of it plus the kids have just been arseholes today. Fighting, screaming, whining, plus I had to talk to my sons teacher about him starting in September. I know I sounded utterly demented, embarrassing! 🙈

Food wise I’ve definitely stuck to under a thousand calories today so I’ve done alright. It’s beeb very, very hard though as I kind of didn’t care.

TigerJoy · 04/06/2020 09:53

I had a wobble yesterday, having some health issues and got upset. Ended up eating chocolate in the evening and drinking gin (and slimline!) well past when I should have stopped eating. Up a pound from yesterday. Onwards and upwards!

TigerJoy · 04/06/2020 09:53

Maybe that should be onwards and downwards....

justanotherneighinparadise · 04/06/2020 09:58

@Tiger I have chocolate everyday just the super dark 85% variety.

So the scales were really good today. I find that when I come off a longer fast the weight I am at the end doesn’t stick until a couple of days later. It’s really interesting. Then it stays as a solid weight if that makes sense.

So I’m now a solid 159 and I need to keep edging the fit downwards.

@justanotherneighinparadise great news. I've just done photos to compare with two weeks ago (same leggings and vest top, same position in my kitchen doorway!) and there's a visible difference. Definitely got less of a belly. Onwards and downwards indeed Smile

Straysocks · 04/06/2020 14:54

Well done @Trandafire on the visible loss. I had a big wobble yesterday, I wonder if I was sabotaging myself though because I didn't really want the crisps or the ice cream but I had them all the same. Anyone else feel like they're learning about their eating? A pp mentioned the Happy Scales app and I've found it helpful, its obviously not a continuous decline but it helps when the scales go back & forth and makes me engage first thing. Back on track today.

TigerJoy · 04/06/2020 16:56

I had bendicks bittermints. Which involves super dark chocolate but also lots and lots of sugar..plus had about 4 of them with gin...no excuse. A solid pound up today. I know some people say only weigh once a week but I weigh every day and record it and you get a good idea of trends then...

DollyPartons · 04/06/2020 21:11

Had a little peak this morning. I've been on track but scales have not budged , which is bang out of order. What does it take? Feel like wailing but there's bigger problems in the world right now.

Right, rant over. I could've scoffed a mountain of sugar but I haven't. Instead off to raid the fridge for high water density items. "Nothing feels as good as skinny" etched on my mind.

TigerJoy · 05/06/2020 11:15

@DollyPartons that is so frustrating. I'm sorry

I felt so crap last night I didn't have the energy to cook or even microwave a potato and ordered a chinese takeaway. I think i am starting to understand where the weight gain is coming from.

bluebluezoo · 05/06/2020 11:20

Yep i have lost a whole 2 lbs in the last 5 days.

It has taken less than 800 cals per day - i have toast (250 cals), then soup (100 cals), then a big bowl of air popped popcorn (250 cals)

Plus i’ve been walking on the treadmill for 2 hours daily, 15k steps.

This is hard work.

wizzler · 05/06/2020 11:40

Slight improvement in the scales this morning but I think mainly that I didn't eat much yesterday evening . Nevertheless I'm feeling motivated!

Last night I realised I hadn't quite met my daily steps target.. so I walked round and round the living room. The dogs face was a picture

justanotherneighinparadise · 05/06/2020 12:29

I kept to my fast today but my eating window was bloody dire!!! Feel like crap. Toast and chocolate basically, oh and some cake!!!! 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

helenb706 · 05/06/2020 12:53

Hi all, haven't posted for ages and haven't been a saint but I'm still going. Started at 10 st 5 and today 9 st 9...something psychologically good about the second number being a single digit and near to half a stone. aiming for 8 st 6.

justanotherneighinparadise · 05/06/2020 12:59

That’s a HUGE loss helen. Amazing!! 👏

Pippinlily · 05/06/2020 13:06

Sorry to hear about the wobbles.
Echoing those who encouraged me last week: concentrate on being committed to the long term & the odd wobble won’t hurt if you get back on it again. Don’t give up!

I had a peek on the scales today & only 1lb down since Monday but I’m fine with that as I don’t feel like I’m going without at all but just feeling much healthier.

Exercise every day still on track. 4 x run & 1 x yoga so far this week.
Eating window narrowed so leaving 12-16hrs of ‘fasting’. Achieved 2x16hr ones so far this week. I’ve not been hungry & it’s definitely made it easier to be a bit more controlled when I do eat.
No daytime snacks at all.

I haven’t tackled my normal (big portion/carb heavy) meals yet. Or more non-drinking days. But I’m definitely drinking less than I was earlier in lockdown. So small wins for now.

Pippinlily · 05/06/2020 13:08

@helenb706 👏👏 wow. Is that only in 3-4 weeks? Well done!

helenb706 · 05/06/2020 13:33

Hi - yes in 3 weeks. Water really is the key... i have lots of bottles in the fridge that scream 'take me instead' when I am rumaging for something to mindlessly snack on. Funnily enough, the hand to mouth action of drinking it alleviates the desire to get something else. I realise now just how much mindlessly eat because I work from home.

DollyPartons · 05/06/2020 13:56

Last night I was frustrated that scales hadn't moved and then, two off this morning! So if anyone's struggling, sticking to your goal is worth it. I was tempted to big time cheat last night, so glad I didn't now!

Moo678 · 05/06/2020 14:01

Hi everyone, just stopping in to catch up. I've been reading every day but didn't want to bore everyone with daily updates.

I'm still feeling very positive about intermittent fasting. Had a bit of a wobble earlier in the week where I was pushing myself to go longer, thinking about doing one meal a day and going low carb - it resulted in me eating a whole tube of pringles! I did some more reading and decided to really commit to 16:8 without limiting what I ate in my window. I've read loads about appetite correction and I've decided just to trust the process.

Anyway, I stood on the scales this morning since I've also downloaded happy scale so I can record daily weights. I was down 2 lbs from Monday. That means I've lost 4 lbs in 2.5 wks which I'm very happy with. I know the scales will fluctuate and losses will slow down, but I'm totally ok with that. I'm feeling very zen like and focused!

DollyPartons · 05/06/2020 14:02

@Pippinlilly totally agree with helenb706
It flushed out water weight, particularly at the start of weight loss. Also dehydration can get confused with hunger so drinking throughout the day and early Eve helps enormously.

bluebluezoo · 05/06/2020 14:07

@helenb706 how tall are you? It’s that single figure I just can’t get near. I’d be ok with that!

helenb706 · 05/06/2020 15:45

I'm 5 ft 5 but have teeny tiny bones, genuinely so I need to be at the lower end of healthy. I have always been a size 8 but am a 12 at the moment ... if I can shift just over a stone I will be able to get back into all my clothes and feel more confident. I have been mega snacking but I seem to have piled it on with the onset of the menopause.

Trandafire · 05/06/2020 15:59

Wow bodies are weird... I currently weigh almost 2 stone more than you Helen and am a bit shorter and wear a size 12 and have a few tops and dresses that are a 10. In fact I was still fitting in a 12 (bit tight though) when I was 2 and a half stone heavier than you are now. I've double-checked all the maths because I'm used to kilos 😂 but it's true!

Anyway just found that interesting. Congratulations on the loss. Have a good healthy weekend everyone and see the Monday weighers on Monday!
