Anyone up for sorting their lard body out? I've peaked with my fatness and I need to sort it. I can no longer hide. Tomorrow will be the day. Are you up for it too?

Oooh, well done folks - for keeping focused as well as for the losses. I'm down from 11st 8 to 11st 3.5 this morning- that's over two weeks and I'm happy with that. I'm eating usually from around 12-6 but not that much, I'm not that hungry. I've actually recorded about 900 calories on MFP a few times and realise this isn't enough so find myself in the bizarre situation of making myself eat because I must need it. I'm also exercising for the first time in years. I think I'm going to drop MFP for a bit and see how it goes on the fasting. I have to confess to coffee with milk first thing, it gives me pleasure so I'll keep with it for a while. The biggest thing for me is that I'm not beholden to eating, huge change and I now see some quite unhealthy behaviour I had going on. Also, I'm really calm since starting this, although we'll see how long that lasts!

Week 1 for me & I’ve lost 3lb despite the mid-week blip. Really pleased with that!

Start weight 12st 7lb
Week 1 12st 4lb.

Aiming to continue the same this week without the blip.
I’ve really been enjoying the running (only 2-3km) & looking forward to when I have a less-heavy body to drag round!

justanotherneighinparadise · 01/06/2020 09:49

These are some fantastic weight losses!!!!

TigerJoy · 01/06/2020 10:33

Can I join?

I'm recovering from coronavirus - week 10 - been pretty ill. And put on over a stone, and I was already supposed to be on a diet. I have just been comfort eating. Losing weight will help me get better quicker.

Given that I can't really exercise I just have to focus on what I eat.

Have started calorie counting again - had limited success with Slimming World, WW only the first time, intermittent fasting is not for me, am considering trying 16:8. I need to cut down on the booze too, although it's mostly gin and slimlines (I never drink Mon/Tues). Again, comfort. It's been a rough year for a number of reasons.

Would love to hear other people's suggestions and could really do with some moral support as none of my friends want to tackle their weight (I don't blame them!)

Bumpsadaisie · 01/06/2020 11:11

I'm down from 12 stone 5 to 12 stone 3. So slow but steady.

Keep on going folks!

chrispenrallt1 · 01/06/2020 12:12

Well done to everyone.
Can I join you, I need to lose a couple of stone at least. I have been wearing an orthopaedic boot for the last 8 weeks, so no exercise at all was done and I’m very wobbly on my feet as yet.
Monday always a good day to start and the first of the month too.
Managed to walk around the block today fir the first time, nearly put my 1 crutch down a manhole!
Good luck to us all

Trandafire · 01/06/2020 12:55

@DollyPartons I love sardines done on the barbecue

TigerJoy · 01/06/2020 13:11

@DollyPartons veggie kebabs, prawns on skewers in a marinade are good. Steak as well - as long as you don't eat the fat! Veggie burgers and sausages are generally much lower in fat and calories but I'm not sure if you can do them on the bbq. The Linda McCartney ones with mozzarella are really good

DollyPartons · 01/06/2020 13:50

Welcome all and thanks for suggestions!

MillieMoodle · 01/06/2020 15:41

12st 1lb today, so that's 2lb off this week, 5lbs off in total over 2 weeks. I'm very happy with that, especially as it's TOTM this week. I'm a lot less bloated than usual and my stomach is a bit flatter I think. Feeling inspired to keep going!

wizzler · 01/06/2020 21:28

Feeling pleased that instead of sitting watching tv I've been for a walk this evening. I've not had anything high fat, I've eaten mindfully and I've swapped my glass of wine for a cup of tea

Surely by tomorrow I will be a shadow of my former self Smile

Lyricallie · 01/06/2020 22:16

So I weighed myself for the first time since lockdown. It's not good put on at least 10lb! Heaviest I've ever been! Currently doing a 36 hour fast and dropped 3lb in water weight so we'll see how I'm doing in a week's time.

Straysocks · 02/06/2020 01:06

@wizzler It's a sure thing 🤛🏼

Hippofrog · 02/06/2020 06:37

So it’s been one week and I started at 13,3 now 12,12 and I did have wine over the weekend and maybe the odd (tube) Pringle. That 5lbs. I did do a full 36 hr fast yesterday and thought I’d be ravenous this morning but I’m not. Odd thing was my brain was buzzing and I didn’t sleep well til late and was up early? I am aiming to be 12,10 next Tuesday which puts me back at pre lockdown weight. Have a great day.

Straysocks · 02/06/2020 09:46

Well done, @Hippofrog! Great loss.

SausageCrush · 02/06/2020 09:57

I did a water fast yesterday which went surprisingly well (keeping busy is the key.)
I don't own scales, but do know I have piled on the pounds during lockdown, so have a long climb ahead.

Reading your stories helps. I've never been one for joining weight loss groups & clubs, but find the gentle online encouragement to be reassuring and motivating.

Good luck with your efforts this week Thanks

TigerJoy · 02/06/2020 10:09

So it looks like I'll manage 15 hr fast between last night and breakfast this morning. I just read an article saying that 14-15 hour fasts are better for women.

I'm not feeling brilliant so don't feel it's a good idea to do a severe diet but eating healthily with an early dinner and late breakfast seems ok. I'll see how it goes

Planning strawberries with cinnamon omelette for breakfast. Asparagus and egg salad for lunch.

justanotherneighinparadise · 02/06/2020 10:36

Well done everyone! I’m back fasting from an hour ago. I might try another 36 hours as I’m feeling quite strong. I was looking back at my smart scale app at the last time I was this weight and how long it took me to go from 159lb to 153 and it was one month. So that’s going to be my goal. Can I lose half a stone in a month? It’s going to be tough I think as I am so sedentary at the moment but I’m going to give it a shot.

bluebluezoo · 02/06/2020 11:33

Well after losing 3lb after a 5 day 500 cal fast, 2 days of eating 1500 cals has put me back to right where I started on weigh in day.

So starting again week 2.

Trandafire · 02/06/2020 17:39

Don't give up everyone. A gain/staying the same one week is nothing in the grand scheme of things.

I'm really, really struggling today. Had a personal setback that I know I need to get over, and am more or less ok with except I couldn't sleep last night because I had it going through my head. Plus DD woke up in the night. So tired, grumpy, distracted, bit emotional today and dying to raid the fridge but resisting. I know the best way to deal with the personal stuff is to get myself looking my best and confident the next time I have to see certain people. But really feeling the urge to sabotage my efforts at the same time. Bring on bedtime Grin

justanotherneighinparadise · 02/06/2020 17:46

Oh yes. I had a home schooling day from hell and there were plenty of times when I thought ‘why the fuck at I bothering to punish myself by fasting on top of being punished by having to stay inside and home school 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

wizzler · 02/06/2020 23:06

Seems that a few of us had a wobble today. Onwards and downwards tomorrow!

Casino218 · 03/06/2020 05:39

I joined this thread on the 22nd May. I weighed 11stone 5.6 when I stood on the scales at the start and I weigh 11 stone 1.6 now. I'm not fasting as have not been well but I'm trying to consume no more than 1320 calories a day. Slow and steady I think is my approach.

LittleTopic · 03/06/2020 15:24

Hi everyone!

Glad it’s not just me on the wobble. Had a horrendous few days with DD being ill and back and forth speaking to consultants etc. So we have reached for the wine/takeaway menu a few times!

Decided that my weigh ins should be on Fridays - I do most of my “treats” over the weekend and then make up for it during the week. So weighing in after a couple of indulgent days doesn’t work for me!
