Anyone up for sorting their lard body out? I've peaked with my fatness and I need to sort it. I can no longer hide. Tomorrow will be the day. Are you up for it too?

Keep going pippin... it's ok to have a skip as long as you are straight back on it and it's sounds like you are exercising too.
Lay of the cheese at bed time or you will have nightmares!

Nsky · 29/05/2020 20:27

Started yesterday 1500 cals, just turned 58,,no choc this week, more water, more fruit and veg.
It’s tough, I lost 1.5 stone fir my 50th, and another 1/2 Stone afterwards.
I know I’ve regained, I dread to think, my clothes still fit, and I never hsve elsicated waists ( tho I did go up a size post menopause.
I need to start thinking and just getting on with it

justanotherneighinparadise · 30/05/2020 08:16

Fab weigh in this morning. Bang on 160lb. So really close to getting back into the 150s.

How’s everyone’s food weekend looking? I’m going to make a curry later with rice and naan. I really want to join in with the meal so I need to plan the day so I don’t go over cals. Not sure whether to eat something tiny now in the hope of staving the hunger or just dig in and keep fasting until 6pm 🙈

Moo678 · 30/05/2020 09:23

@Pippinlily don’t worry - blips will happen. We can’t live the rest of our lives without eating cheese and drinking wine. If you’re still going in the right direction that’s the main thing.

@justanotherneighinparadise That’s fantastic. Still not enough to make me limit calories though!! Enjoy your curry.

I’ve had a bit of a crap night. I was diagnosed with a missed miscarriage two weeks ago. It was actually the realisation that I was fat not pregnant that made me decide to do something about my weight! Anyway.... I’ve been waiting for the bleeding to start and it did yesterday while I was at work. I was in a lot of pain last night with horrible cramps. So proud that I still stuck to my eating window and didn’t comfort eat my way out of things. I really hope I’m getting a grip of my emotional eating. I’m still feeling positive about 16:8 and it’s health benefits.

Sorry if that’s too much of an over share. It was miscarriage no.7 so I don’t like telling people in real life when I get pregnant - much easier to share with random people online!!

We are off to visit mother in law in her garden.... yet another opportunity to over eat!

justanotherneighinparadise · 30/05/2020 09:36

Oh @Moo678 I’m so sorry to hear that 😔

I’ve lost four pregnancies myself so I honestly understand and I know how dark that place is to try and climb out of. Be kind to yourself ♥️

Straysocks · 30/05/2020 10:50

@Moo678 I'm so sorry to hear that. I'm glad you shared here, there's a lot of hands to hold us up. Thinking of you.

Pippinlily · 30/05/2020 11:45

@Moo678 so sorry to hear. Be kind to yourself.
I’m so in awe you’ve been able to reframe your eating at this time. I’m pretty sure my comfort-eating after miscarriages were what set off my weight gain trajectory.
I saw a nice ‘Healthy’ quote recently which said instead of saying “I’ll treat myself” you say “I’ll treat myself well” & reframe your thinking.

I’m back on track again & feeling good. Sneaky peak on the scales looks like 2-3lbs off starting weight so that’s motivating too. (although dodgy dial scales).
I’m banning myself from wine though. At least until I’m under 1stone lost & hopefully long enough to break the linked bad scoffing habits.
I’m not quitting booze entirely (yet) though but will have a g&t or something other than wine if want a drink.

wizzler · 30/05/2020 12:15

@Moo678 Thanks

LittleTopic · 30/05/2020 12:51

@Moo678 your poor thing. You’re ridiculously strong to be able to even think about weight loss right now! Flowers

Moo678 · 30/05/2020 13:32

Thanks so much everyone Flowers Sorry so many of us seem to have experienced this.

MillieMoodle · 31/05/2020 08:48

Oh @Moo678 I'm so sorry for your losses Thanks

I've had an ok week, had a takeaway on Thursday night (within eating window) but felt awful all evening, really uncomfortable. Didn't fast properly yesterday as had a biscuit at 11am, lunch at 2.30pm and then some peanuts and half a glass of wine at 9.30pm. At least I didn't eat breakfast and a massive dinner as well, which is what I'd have done before. Overall it's not been too bad though.

We've just re-booked the holiday we were meant to be going on in July this year for July next year, so I've got an extra year to lose a decent amount of weight. DH has decided to do 16:8 from tomorrow as well.

SausageCrush · 31/05/2020 11:29

Really sorry about your losses Moo.
That would be enough to de-rail most people, but you are coming across as calm and focused.
Please be kind to yourself and know that people are thinking about you; and that they care Thanks

Moo678 · 01/06/2020 07:21

So weigh in day... I’ve achieved my goal of 7 clean fasts in a row. Completely cut out evening snacking and not gone crazy in my eating window and I’ve lost....nothing!!!

I’m actually feeling ok about this. I’ve been reading lots about intermittent fasting which says it can take a while to get going and that it leads to slow weight loss etc.... this might be the first time that I’ve not dieted for something so I don’t have a goal looming over me just a desire to be healthier.

I’m going to aim for another week of clean fasting at least 16 hrs a day. If I haven’t seen a shift in the scales by then I may add in weight watchers (with a heavy heart!)

How did everyone else do?

Milicentbystander72 · 01/06/2020 07:30

Moo I lost nothing at all during a whole week of fasting last week, it's demoralising. Keep at it.

I've not been on the thread much this week. It's been a busy one. However I've just weighed in -

I was - 17.5 stone

Now - 17. 3 stone.

Loss of 2 pounds. I have shed loads of blubber to loose but I'm very happy with that! Especially as I had a few treats but luckily was still within my window.

wizzler · 01/06/2020 07:41

I've lost a pound so now 12st 11 a 3 lb loss in total.

Actually quite relieved as at a sneaky weigh in on Saturday I'd not lost an ounce!

Definitely feeling that the fat around my middle is reduced so feeling positive about that.

How about everyone else?

justanotherneighinparadise · 01/06/2020 07:43

Oh that’s frustrating guys!! Just to give you some context as to how tricky this stuff is, I came off a 36 hour fast this morning and have only lost 1b. This stuff just doesn’t happen easily even if you are eating nothing for over a day!!

Don’t give up. I’m doing my fasts for autophagy primarily and weight loss second. So if the scales don’t move I know I’m doing amazing things for my health so none of it is worthless.

Trandafire · 01/06/2020 07:46

@Moo678 Flowers infertility is a bitch

It's Monday so...
2.1 kg lost, BMI no longer obese, squeezed back into 'just' overweight. And I had a couple of beers on Friday night! It'll probably start slowing down now, right? Can't expect this kind of loss every week but it's a great motivator. Hope all Monday weighers get good news this morning Smile

justanotherneighinparadise · 01/06/2020 07:47

Great news @Trandafire 👏👏👍. Delighted for you.

Moo678 · 01/06/2020 07:53

@Trandafire that’s brilliant! Well done you. Some great milestones. I can’t complain to much about infertility- I have 3 beautiful daughters - just desperately want 1 more.

@justanotherneighinparadise - how annoying - even if it rebounded after I’d want to see a good loss after not eating for 36 hrs. I’m going to listen to Jason fung this week and try to do at least 18 hrs on my work days.

@Milicentbystander72 and @wizzler Yay! Seeing people lose is inspiring me and I’m going to keep going with fasting!

justanotherneighinparadise · 01/06/2020 08:03

There was a fascinating documentary my partner and I watched last year about this morbidly obese guy who decided to fast for I think initially a month and then longer. I think he was Australian and no doctors wanted to support him initially (he did find someone who did support him medically in the end) Anyway you wouldn’t believe how crazy the process was weight loss wise even though he was exercising and drinking only water. This shit is NOT easy.

justanotherneighinparadise · 01/06/2020 08:06

I’ve found it!! It was this.

DollyPartons · 01/06/2020 08:58

Happy Monday all ! Two weeks have gone fast, anyone feeling better for healthy eating? I've stuck to 6 glasses water plus as it's easier in this warm weather anyways and am finding that I'm not experiencing hunger as much, so maybe o used to connect hunger with dehydration?

Anyways, 14st 1 today so that's 4lb in total off, horrah!!

Can't wait to be under 14 stone . This week I will:
Keep up water intake;
Follow slimming world
Try to pre plan main meals somewhat as I'm rubbish at that.
Not a lover of heat so I'm determined to keep going down on scales , I'll be grateful when heatwaves come!

Lyricallie · 01/06/2020 09:06

Feeling a bit blah ate so much crap this weekend because fiance went to the shops hungry and I have no willpower over snacks. If they're in the house I'll eat them. But strangely if I'm fasting I don't have any desire for them. So doing a 36 hour fast today, finished my dinner quite late last night so I can eat again tomorrow at 9:20am. Not that I'm counting down or anything :p.

Just on black coffee and water today. I have some electrolytes that I'll mix into water later to stop getting a head ache.

justanotherneighinparadise · 01/06/2020 09:11

Good luck Lyricalle. I ate after my 36 hour fast abs went straight back into another 20 hour one. It’s not that difficult but my weak times do seem to be around 3pm for some reason.

DollyPartons · 01/06/2020 09:19

Forgot to ask, stone got any incredibly scrummy low sugar, low fat bbq suggestions please. Finding it hard to resist actually I scoffed a full fat sausage off BBQ last night and it was beautiful
