Anyone up for sorting their lard body out? I've peaked with my fatness and I need to sort it. I can no longer hide. Tomorrow will be the day. Are you up for it too?

And newborn congratulations @pleasestoprainingplease! That's as much as my eldest weighed!

wizzler · 27/05/2020 23:49

Fascinated by the people fasting. How long do you keep it up for. When you stop do you gain weight more easily?
I can see the attraction but not sure I've got the mental strength

Moo678 · 28/05/2020 07:26

@wizzler if this works for me then I don’t think I’ll ever stop. I’d like it to be a lifestyle change. I’ll take the odd day off for special occasions etc but I really want to break the gain weight / diet cycle. I’m only ten days in and can’t believe that missing breakfast isn’t really bothering me.

wizzler · 28/05/2020 08:12

Moo I shall follow your progress with interest!

I am sneakily weighing most mornings, and Ive lost 1lb today, so thats 3 since we all started. Happy with that, quite motivated now. Definitely have more energy then I did two weeks ago

Keep going everyone !

justanotherneighinparadise · 28/05/2020 09:29

Stayed the same this morning which is fine. I know I’m not overeating so no wobble which might have come if I was following a diet plan that allowed lots of eating but supposedly ‘healthy’ eating.

Anyhow something I found really interesting this morning is just how mindful I am as to what I want to eat. Like what food brings me joy and what I was just shoving into my face mindlessly. I open the fridge and I’m now so discerning! I decided to eat a small amount of spag bol from last nights dinner as I rarely used to allow myself pasta. My old self really wanted to dump a load of olive oil on it but having watched lots of ‘super skinny’ and ‘secret eater’ programs on YouTube recently I know how calorie laden it is. So I didn’t!!! Then I had some buttered toast with a slice of roast beef and mustard. It was bloody lovely and my instinct was to do another slice. Then I stopped and thought.... do I really want that? And realised I didn’t actually, I’d rather have something else, so I had three small clementines instead lol.

There’s something about a days full of eating that makes you eat so differently than a small window of eating. I know I’ll be full quite quick so I want to make sure what I eat will really satisfy me not just fill a hole. That’s definitely new thinking for me, even since when I fasted last year!!

pleasestoprainingplease · 28/05/2020 09:30

Straysocks that has made me really appreciate how much that is! My two were both 7lbs so I'm trying to remember what that felt like in my arms. Smile x

Hippofrog · 28/05/2020 09:32

I’m on day 3 of the Military Diet and gone from 13’3 lbs on Tuesday to 13st this morning. I’m going to do a weigh in tomorrow then have Fridays as my weigh day. I really needed to do a few hardcore days to reset my hunger and control and break the few glasses of wine 🍷a night habit. I’m will still have wine but only on a Friday and Saturday and not during the week and only one bottle all weekend (not 3). Moving onto 16:8 tomorrow. It’s my thighs that’s the problem, does anyone else carry their weight in their legs?

Naimee87 · 28/05/2020 09:35

If you check out Pinterest there are amazing workouts to do from home. You can tailor them to how you like, belly, legs, fully body even back fat and bingo wings too, which i didn't know was a thing. They are super simple, you don't need anything else to do them... a skipping rope is great for the warm up too.
Even kids can get involved too, my DS is a pro-skipper after just a few weeks ( i am really not) You aren't at a gym so there is no pressure to keep up and if you've more energy you can just keep going! It's definitely helped me. I do them early once my son is at school so can just relax and enjoy the evening when it arrives!

Hippofrog · 28/05/2020 09:39

Even when I was 9st my legs were huge, I had to buy size 14 trousers and get my Granny to take in the waist by about 5 inches. I think I need to embrace my inner Kirstie Allsopp and try dresses but dresses scare me I’ve never worn them wouldn’t know where to start.

Sunshineeeee · 28/05/2020 09:58

Hullo,

Popping in from my fat life to join you all. I added 4 stone during pregnancy Blush (all in the last trimester after a forced bedrest)! The worse thing is I suffered with hyperesmesis and was so slim till 6 months. Feels unfair!!! I lost a stone post partum and have lost 7lbs by cutting portion sizes in the last two months. I still have 2.5 stone left to go. Breastfeeding makes it much harder and being limited with time to exercise. Usually Ramadan sorts me right out but this year I couldn't fast due to the breastfeeding so didn't get the loss I hoped for Sad

Yesterday I started a new me. I can't 'diet' as it will mess with my milk supply and leave me light headed so I've decided for a life style change. I've cut out all sugar and don't drink anyway. Currently reading a book called 'Sugar Blues' if anyone is interested. Rather good read to help motivate me to stay off of sugar. And I'm trying to be pescatarian as I feel that will force me to make much healthier meals. My aim is to do 6 weeks of this and then slowly reintroduce meat and sugar once a week.

Well after all that it's only day 2... let's see if I last!

Moo678 · 28/05/2020 10:04

Hi @Sunshineeeee. Congratulations on your baby. I’ve used weight watchers to drop baby weight twice now. They gave me extra points for breastfeeding and I lost weight consistently without any effect on my milk supply. Your sugar free plan sounds great but just wanted to say that I have cut calories whilst feeding before without any issues - good luck 😉

wizzler · 28/05/2020 10:24

Hippo I am a big fan of the Next shift dresses. They are comfortable and hide a mutitude of problem areas. I wore mine pretty much constantly all last summer

SausageCrush · 28/05/2020 11:43

Hi Hippofrog.

I don't own any scales as I remember as a child watching my Mum and her highs and lows when she weighed herself every day Confused

Before lockdown I used to weigh myself at the gym and fairly consistently lost 3 pounds every two week, which I was happy with.

I'm going to be in for an unpleasant surprise when I go back to my swim/gym routine (July?) as I have not fared well under lockdown Blush

Anawi · 28/05/2020 13:01

Oo, me! I'm a few days late finding this but hope you dobt mind me joining in. I've put on loads of weight since my third child was born. She's 3 now and I'm thr biggest I've ever been which is depressing as I was back down below my pre-pregnancy weight by the time she was 6 months old Hmm anyway, jumped on the scales a couple if days ago and nearly cried when it said 12st10, which at my height of 5ft2.5 (the half counts) is way waaaaaay too much. I seem to be quite dense, so even when I was size 8/10 and really very skinny I was still a lot heavier than a lot of people my size. I currently fit into my size 14 stuff, but only just and stretchy is much much better!

I weighed the other day before bed, in pjs. I weighed again this morning, first thing naked! So I'm 12st 8 now, total cheat, not real loss but it's a good mental trick start.

Calorie counting with MFP for me, probably combined with 16:8 because I'm generally not very hungry till midday anyway so its no great hardship.
3st to lose for me I think. Well 2st 12lb now I guess! Wink

Well done to everyone losing so far, and don't get disheartened to those who haven't, play the long game.

Sunshineeeee · 28/05/2020 14:34

@Moo678 thank you!

Ooh interesting about weight watchers! I might look into that. I had supply issues at the beginning so I'm scared of it dipping. If I can maintain it and cut calories all the merrier.

I still want to cut the sugar though as my health is just so eugh. I feel so sluggish all the time and when I never used to have sugar before I felt great (lasted 2 years without it before and then marriage destroyed all discipline 😂)

Hippofrog · 29/05/2020 08:49

Morning All. I stuck to my 3 day Military diet and have gone from 13’3 to 12’13! So it’s given me a massive kick up the arse. I’m going to move onto 16:8 today eating between 2-10pm and 1300 cals. I’ll be weighing in on Fridays. If I can loose1- 2lb a week I will be very happy. I’m aiming to be 11stone by Xmas so thats 27lbs in 30 weeks.

Lyricallie · 29/05/2020 09:49

Hi Smile hope you don't mind me joining I saw the thread recommended on another one!

I feel you all, I'm too scared to get back on my home scales as I've been awful during lockdown I was supposed to get married in May so because it was cancelled I've just been eating whatever as I was like oh well got another 6 months Blush.

I tried to get my bum back in gear in last 2 weeks or so. I have been doing a lot of research on fasting, normally I don't eat until lunchtime so I don't think 16:8 is for me so in the last few weeks I've completed two 24 hour fasts (essentially OMAD) and I've just completed a 37 hour fast. I was surprised how doable it was!

I probably won't weigh myself until I can get back to the gym for consistency.

Straysocks · 29/05/2020 09:59

Morning all and welcome recent joiners 🍮

Trandafire · 29/05/2020 10:34

Morning, just checking in. This week has flown by and I've made the groundbreaking discovery that not raiding the fridge constantly = not needing to go to the supermarket as often. Bonus Grin
Have a good weekend and see the Monday-weighers on Monday!

justanotherneighinparadise · 29/05/2020 10:51

Anyone else just don’t feel as scared getting dressed in the morning anymore? I know it sounds ridiculous but I started to fear my clothes. I still can’t get into my jeans but even my failsafe leggings and dress we’re looking terrible as my stomach protruded so much.

Now I’m out the bath and into my clothes and not thinking about it. That alone is worth its weight in gold!!’n

Moo678 · 29/05/2020 11:01

Morning everyone. Just checking in.

I'm 4 mins away from completing my 5th fast in a row and feeling fine. I had a sneaky peek on the scales this morning. Slightly disappointed that I'm still just down 2lb from when I started 10 days ago. BUT I'm not restricting what I eat at all and everything I read says that this takes time to work. I'm not really in a rush to lose weight (obviously I want to look amazing immediately) it's not like I have a holiday planned or anything like that. So I'm going to keep plodding and doing exactly as I am until the end of next week. If I've not seen any movement by then I think I might try to extend my fasting window - maybe do one meal a day on a few of my work days....

Will weigh in officially on Monday.

Lyricallie · 29/05/2020 11:08

@justanotherneighinparadise

No I totally get you I had a massive freak out as my leggings felt quite tight and these were ones that used to fall off me. Luckily it turned out I had bought the same leggings in a smaller size and they were the smaller ones but still.

Everytime I go to put on my jeans I'm scared they won't fit and my fiance has to be like they're fine just put them on!

justanotherneighinparadise · 29/05/2020 15:20

@Moo678 are you calculating your daily calories , if not it might be worth doing it even if it’s just for a day or two.

bluebluezoo · 29/05/2020 16:29

5 days in and 3lbs down. Only 28 to go!

Pretty much doing one meal a day. As low calorie as possible. Had breakfast this morning though as up early for work and was starving by 10! Normally I can last all day.

Pippinlily · 29/05/2020 16:54

Urgh. I need a talking too! I gave in to a glass of wine the last 2 evenings (☀️ & DP drinking & zoom drinks) then spiralled to another + evening snacks. I even had a big piece of cheese at 11pm just before getting in bed 🙈. Pointless.

(Dial) Scales this morning show approx 1lb loss so far.

So cross with myself today. But noting here the things that have gone well so far this week:
Achieved 20mins exercise every morning. 4 x run & 1 x yoga.
Pushing back morning eating until c11am then just an apple until lunch.
No daytime snacking.
I’m feeling MUCH better/healthier overall despite today’s self-loathing. My (fattest size) clothes are hanging better on me already.

Tell me I can do this! Looking forward to hearing more positive updates from you.
