I've hit peak fatness

Anyone up for sorting their lard body out? I've peaked with my fatness and I need to sort it. I can no longer hide. Tomorrow will be the day. Are you up for it too?

Does anyone else have a similar mealtime dilemma?

I work shifts so on a late i’ll eat around 8/9 to break it up. Same issue- to stretch to that time I start snacking, then it’s late, i’m tired, struggling to focus, and my willpower goes.

Same on early, get up at six and i’m starving by 10, then have the rest of the day. Nights are just a lost cause Confused

I had been doing really well with exercise, but i find I can’t lose weight while doing a lot as it really drives my appetite. I think i also need weights rather than cardio which is harder in lockdown.

So my plan is to lose as much as possible while upping my daily activity generally- gardening, housework, walking rather than pushing the hard exercise. Then pick it up again to get back to maintaining.

I can’t believe I’ve lost another pound overnight! I’m honestly amazed. I’m now 160lb so I can at least see my goal now. I was 151lb at my lowest last year and felt great. So 9lb to go 🤞

TrenchTown · 27/05/2020 08:39

@justanotherneighinparadise you are doing so well. I'm pleased for you.

Hello everyone, I have lost another pound so that is three in total. It really lifts me spirits when I wake up and my first thought is not panic over my weight. I hope that you are all well.

Hippofrog · 27/05/2020 09:44

Morning, I’m feeling motivated I started yesterday at 13.3 and am 13.1 this morning. I know it’s water weight as I drunk 2 litres of water (sparkling I can not drink flat water) yesterday but it’s a step in the right direction. It’s my birthday 5 weeks tomorrow could I possibly get to 12st by then?

TrenchTown · 27/05/2020 10:00

@buggeroffvirus I really can relate to waking up and not beating myself up about the previous nights chocolate binge. I am trying really hard this week as last week wasn't great for me.

TrenchTown · 27/05/2020 10:01

@Hippofrog well done, I'm the opposite, I can't drink sparkling.

JigoloHarMegiddo · 27/05/2020 10:10

@Hippofrog, brilliant loss there. I got back to drinking water yesterday and have lost half a pound overnight (under 13st 5! Wahey!), and had a small Non-Scale Victory - my linen frock fits noticeably better (IME) and although I still have to pin the bust to stop the buttons popping, I'm not bursting out all over like I was 2 weeks ago, and freshly washed and ironed, it's not skin tight. I just need to remember to hold good posture!

I'm off for a celebratory glass of fizzy water (I can't stand flat water either, and I need to get my money's worth from the Sodastream, right? 😁)!

justanotherneighinparadise · 27/05/2020 10:13

Oh god I can totally relate about not waking up and beating myself up about food and weight. Now I hop on the scales and see if I’ve lost all happy like! 🤭

I’m quite enjoying the fact that my fasts keep working themselves backwards into the night. Over the weekend my fasting window started at 9am then it moved to 7am and now it starts at around 5am. It means by the time I actually eat I’ve usually fasted about 23hours or more and it’s not particularly difficult.

Hippofrog · 27/05/2020 10:13

I’d love a soda stream but have no spare cash at the moment with my wages being down. I buy the 17p 2 litre bottles from Tesco and make sure I drink one a day x

justanotherneighinparadise · 27/05/2020 10:14

*eating window- that should have said.

Moo678 · 27/05/2020 11:10

@justanotherneighinparadise

What is your fasting window, please? You are doing so well.

I've just hit 16 hours, but the friend I normally have coffee with is working from home this morning and coming in for lunch at 1 so I think I might try and hold off eating until then. My tummy is a bit rumbly but I don't actually feel hungry. Love the idea that I'm burning fat whilst sitting at my desk!

Straysocks · 27/05/2020 11:11

Hello all recent players and congrats to many of you on your losses. Just to rebel a bit I've gained 1.25 lbs overnight. I have not once gone over calories on MFP and in the last 9 days I've done 17:7 fasting (it just worked out that way). I'm not hungry, nor tempted, I think the fasting really does calm the highs & lows of eating. I'm really happy with the way my approach to food has altered, doesn't feel like a diet, but I'm a bit defeated by the gain. Ploughing on regardless because I feel healthier at least.

justanotherneighinparadise · 27/05/2020 11:23

@Moo678 it’s meant to be 20:8 but it’s probably more like 22.5/1:5. When I’ve eaten all I feel like I just reset the fast again which is why it’s moving about.

justanotherneighinparadise · 27/05/2020 11:24

20:4

Moo678 · 27/05/2020 11:24

@straysocks

Oh that's rubbish. It's the worst feeling in the world when you've been so good and you're not rewarded on the scales. I bet you will see a big loss in a couple more days. I'm glad you're not feeling too disheartened. I'm feeling some of the same benefits with fasting - I feel like maybe this time I'm really going to change my relationship with food rather than just 'going on a diet'.

Moo678 · 27/05/2020 11:25

@justanotherneighinparadise that's amazing. I don't think I'm ready to go to 20 yet let alone 22.5 but I'm definitely considering it which is a major mindset change from two weeks ago.

justanotherneighinparadise · 27/05/2020 11:47

@Moo678 I used to be part of a fasting community and would see people posting about three day fasts and think they were mental. I don’t mind 23 hour fasts as at least your eating at some point in the day. When I used to do 36 hour fasts I found it a bit depressing to wake up and know I wouldn’t be eating at all that day. So I’m not sure I’d jump back into that.

What I’m particularly interested in is autophagy. I want to have a good read about that sometime this week. I know it’s to do with cell renewal and protein and lots of people use it to help with health conditions. It sounds like it goes hand in hand with longer fasts but Dr Fung said not necessarily. The kind of fasts I’m doing for an extended period might be enough.

SausageCrush · 27/05/2020 13:50

I do a zero calorie fast once a week and find it works better for me than faffing about with counting calories and tiny meals.

I started off doing the traditional 5/2 with 500 calories on my fast days, but over time find this suits me much better. I have a large black coffee in the morning, peppermint tea in the afternoon and nothing else but lots of water until a milky coffee on Tuesday morning and then a normal lunch.

I do think you've got to find what suits your individual lifestyle. I try and keep very busy on a Monday and find I can use the distraction to achieve quite a lot.

Good luck all and keep up the good work Thanks

justanotherneighinparadise · 27/05/2020 14:18

I definitely think longer fasts are easier if you’re busy. Feeding the children and cooking meals for my DP is also a real test each day but i cope. It would make far more sense to eat my meal in the evening alongside everyone else but annoyingly that’s a time of the day when I’m not particularly hungry.

LittleTopic · 27/05/2020 15:08

@Straysocks I shall commiserate with you! No movement yet, and calorie counting.

Hippofrog · 27/05/2020 15:31

@ SausageCrush, how much do you loose doing a 24 hour fast once a week?

DollyPartons · 27/05/2020 21:18

@Moo678 and @Straysocks** , hang on in there. It's deflating gaining, but it will come off . Stick to your plan and drink 8 glasses of water . Last week I had very salty takeaway and I could feel water retention next morning. Sometimes I wouldn't loose anything and then woosh a couple off!

pleasestoprainingplease · 27/05/2020 22:02

Everyone is doing so well! This thread is so
Positive. I love it.

I just did my weekly weigh in & I'm 5lbs down. Really hoping for another great loss next week so that I'm in the next stone 🤞🏻. Keep up the great work everyone.

Straysocks · 27/05/2020 23:26

Thanks @Moo678 and @LittleTopic for your solidarity!! And to others for the positivity. It's been a good day here. I've never, ever known myself feel hungry yet feel calm and distant from it. I'm aiming for another 17hr stretch but will see how I fare in the morning. Interesting this, isn't it?
