I've hit peak fatness

Anyone up for sorting their lard body out? I've peaked with my fatness and I need to sort it. I can no longer hide. Tomorrow will be the day. Are you up for it too?

@Moo678 I would have found it hard not having chocolate. I am so addicted to chocolate, I could happily live on it. I'm not buying any when I go shopping, if it's in the house I will eat it.

Everyone is doing so well!

I remain at 13st 4 - not surprising as it went a bit to pot at the weekend (too much wine Blush) but at least I haven’t gained.

I need lunch ideas. I work in a hospital so I have the choice of canteen or M&S, which is mostly sandwiches and pasta ready meals. A couple of the ready made salads seem OK calorie/fat/salt wise though...

JigoloHarMegiddo · 26/05/2020 11:11

Stuck at 13st 5lbs, at 5' 4.5". Pretty sure this is yesterday's ice cream making itself felt. Repeat after me: low carb does not forgive cheating. I look like a cylinder although there is definitely less there than a fortnight ago. Aiming for under 13st in the next month, as a first waypoint.

Aiming for better today, and making some carb-free elderflower cordial because I do love it, but the sugar doesn't love me.

SausageCrush · 26/05/2020 11:33

Another new recruit!
I hit peak fatness last summer and after seeing the holiday photos of myself I was horrified. I was 13 stone and at 5'5'' that was obese Blush
I found 5/2 quite manageable. I also just ate two meals a day and upped the exercise. Note the past tense!
By March I was down to 10 and a half stone. Then lockdown....
I'm an emotional eater and with my swim/gym routine gone I began to go downhill.
I've put on a stone and really don't want to put on any more.
So as of yesterday I am back on the wagon and looking for the reliable support and encouragement that I need to get (and keep) myself on track...

TildaTurnip · 26/05/2020 12:03

-6.8kg but my gosh I want crisps.

@LittleTopic I think dinner leftovers are brilliant for lunch. Especially pasta salad type ones or anything with rice.

Trandafire · 26/05/2020 12:19

@tildaturnip that's amazing. 2 newborns!

I've just had a haircut - that might shave a bit of weight off right? 😂 Plus I usually hate sitting looking at myself in the mirror while they cut my hair but with a mask covering most of your face it's much more bearable!

TrenchTown · 26/05/2020 12:34

Hello @SausageCrush and good luck with the weight loss.

@TildaTurnip you are amazing!

@Pippinlily good luck. You are the same height and starting weight as me! I'm 36 and have gradually been putting on weight since DS1 was born so have decided I need to lose it all. I'd like to get down to 9st 7lbs but realistically I haven't been that weight since I was in my early 20's. My first goal is to get under 12st, which I haven't been for at least 18 months. Then to get to 11st, which I haven't been for 3 years. I've been doing 16:8 since Saturday and finding it good so far. It means I don't need to think about food between 8pm and 12pm as I can't have any. And I'm enjoying the food I do eat even more! I've not cut treats out completely but am trying to be sensible.

Pinkvici22 · 26/05/2020 12:55

Hey Pip and Moo I’m also 39!

Determined to get slim and be fabulous at 40!

TrenchTown · 26/05/2020 13:18

I've had a seriously sweat inducing three hour workout. I've cleaned the oven. 😇

@Trandafire oooob where did you get your hair cut? Mine looks shockingly bad at the moment.

Trandafire · 26/05/2020 14:49

@justanotherneighinparadise I'm not in the UK. Hairdressers are open where I am, by appointment only, disposable gowns, masks compulsory, etc etc. Really appreciated it Smile

justanotherneighinparadise · 26/05/2020 15:58

Ah okay. I have an appointment booked for next month but I’m sure it’ll just get cancelled and considering my hairdresser is booked up six months in advance I’ll probably just grow the blonde out and accept the grey.

teacake89 · 26/05/2020 16:12

Hi, haven't rtft but I would love to join. I'm 5'5 and 13 stone. I need to lose around 3 stone, but my biggest problem is that I'm (still!) breastfeeding my toddler dd. I'm constantly snacking on rubbish and feeling like shit afterwards. Tbh I don't even know where to begin with the weight loss. I'm terrible at sticking to routines etc, but I know I need to do something. It's got to the stage where I don't even recognize myself in the mirror. I have a naturally round face anyway, but my cheekbones have disappeared and I've managed to gain a wobbly double chin 😅 I keep saying I'll exercise once dd goes to bed, but she is a terrible sleeper. Most nights when I've eventually manage to get her to go over I either fall asleep myself or go downstairs and stuff my face because I've had such a stressful time putting her to bed. Blush

Trandafire · 26/05/2020 16:27

@teacake89 I'm still breastfeeding a toddler too. It's partly the reason I've put on so much weight because I let myself eat loads with the excuse of bf but my daughter isn't getting a huge amount of calories from me now.
I'm "fasting" 2/3 days a week but it's a half-arsed fast compared to most and I've increased the usual 500 calorie allowance to account for it. Then on the other days I'm sticking to 3 healthy, nutritious meals. I've started eating tea with DD at 6:30ish and that's it for the evening, no snacking on front of the TV. I work best with "rules" so if I know I "can't" have anything in the evening that's easier than trying to limit it. Same with sugary snacks - I'd rather just not have them in the house and not have them. Once I've lost a decent amount of weight I'll relax the rules slightly. I've stopped taking sugar in tea and coffee... Still getting used to that one!
I park DD in front of the TV with a snack for half an hour to exercise mid-morning as I had the same problem as you re evenings.

bluebluezoo · 26/05/2020 16:36

Can i join? I’ve got 2 st to lose in the first instance to get me to the top end of normal weight, then another stone to bring me into the middle.

I’m afraid I’m doing what all the diet “experts” tell you not to- vcld to drop the weight quickly.

I’ve been overweight for 12 years now, but put on another stone in lockdown. Over the years I’ve learned all the low carb or whatever diet plan just does not work for me- i have to lose half a stone or a stone quickly, then slowly increase exercise and eating to stabilise at that weight, then another half stone etc.

Day 2 today...

SausageCrush · 26/05/2020 16:41

I just read the whole thread - and bought a skipping rope!
Meanwhile Dd is making a batch of fairy cakes to take to her birthday picnic with her bestie. She hasn't seen her for two months. The smell was driving me mad, so I slowly ate an apple and the craving seems to have gone...

DollyPartons · 26/05/2020 17:06

I think I've invented a new choc for Cadbury, @TrenchTown. Curly Wurly with nuts within = Curly Wuttly. Would love that right now but alas I had two orange ice lollies, 50 cal each, so that's that 😆

TrenchTown · 26/05/2020 17:11

@DollyPartons yes a curly wurly with nuts. You need to email Cadbury with your new invention. Sounds lush. 😄

OP posts:
MillieMoodle · 26/05/2020 18:33

@SausageCrush I bought a skipping rope on Saturday morning! Then my back went on Saturday evening so it's been sitting on the side since Sunday and I'm gutted I can't use it yet!

Have felt more hungry today, possibly because I'm working (from home). I had a yoghurt mid afternoon but have resisted the biscuits. I can't drink alcohol at the moment because of the painkillers I'm on for my back, so that's a bonus I guess!

Hope everyone is having a good day and hello to the new joiners!

MillieMoodle · 26/05/2020 18:34

Also I would most definitely buy and eat a Curly Wuttly - @DollyPartons you should definitely email Cadbury to tell them!

Pinkvici22 · 26/05/2020 18:44

I’ve just had a curly wurly (interestingly autocorrects to winky Confused)...still under my cals but don’t think I’ll eat anything else tonight, even though kitchen isn’t closed until 8.

TrenchTown · 26/05/2020 18:56

@Pinkvici22 Curly Winky, that's a whole other thread 🤣

OP posts:
withadivinebeatlesbaseline · 26/05/2020 19:12

@SausageCrush I work in a hospital too, thank goodness we don’t have M and S, my last one did which was not good! There was a nice houmous and nuts salad they did but I liked the iced buns a bit too much after night shifts Blush

A curly winky is definitely a whole different thread!

Pippinlily · 26/05/2020 19:31

Thanks for the encouragement everyone.

I’ve feel good about a pretty healthy day so far. I went for a short morning run, pushed breakfast time back a bit & have avoided snacking.
I’ve had dinner with my kids so going to try with kitchen closed for the rest of the evening mentality.
Dinner timing is something I struggle with. I’d know eating earlier is probably better health-wise but my partner doesn’t finish work until 8.30pm so we normally eat together c.9pm & that’s our chance for couple time/catch up. I think I’ll try to eat earlier while I’m focussing on weight loss, then maybe mix it up a bit.
Dinner just me with the kids (5 & 3) isn’t exactly the mealtime idyll!
Does anyone else have a similar mealtime dilemma?

Eating for energy from sleep deprivation is something I’ve struggled with massively. I think that’s what created my bad food habits. My 2 were terrible sleepers.
I still blame tiredness now for snacking/craving sugar/not doing exercise. But although they still wake me once most nights, my tiredness/lack of energy is more likely to do with being overweight now (& the need to go to bed earlier instead of staying up late & continued snacking).
