I've hit peak fatness

Anyone up for sorting their lard body out? I've peaked with my fatness and I need to sort it. I can no longer hide. Tomorrow will be the day. Are you up for it too?

@TaighNamGastaOrt, I wonder if it's what you're eating, not how much. I cannot lose weight unless I ditch the grains - yes, even Weetabix and Ryvita. I can eat 1000 calories a day with Heart Healthy Whole Grains centred in my diet and just be cross and miserable and not lose a single pound. And be furiously flatulent, to boot.

I only popping on once a week to report weigh-ins, or I get too obsessive. 1.2lbs off this week, which brings me within 1oz of a whole DS1 lost in a fortnight (he was 5lbs 10oz). I am very pleased, especially because I cracked a snuck 2 ice creams, and there was a lot of wine on Saturday night.

I can also feel that there is less of me - the ugly frill of fat around my lower tummy / hips is going.

Milicentbystander72 · 25/05/2020 12:07

Weigh in - I was 17.5 stone.

Now.......

Exactly the same 😞

Doing 16:8. Ah well, I'll stick with it.

justanotherneighinparadise · 25/05/2020 12:12

Ah I’m sorry Millicent

My advice would be to bring in your fasting window. Try 17;7 for a week. Eat two meals in that time frame. Don’t snack. Eat until you are full in that time frame. Really reduce sugar including fruit as much as you can. Only eat it within your meals. It’s always the sugar/refined carbs triggering your insulin.

MillieMoodle · 25/05/2020 12:38

Well done losers!

@Milicentbystander72 don't be disheartened, next week will be different. Stick with it and you will see results!

Milicentbystander72 · 25/05/2020 13:35

Yeah. I've not watched my diet that much, although I've not eaten 12 donuts or eaten mountains of fried chips - i haven't been that careful. I'll try and tighten it up.

Zazu44 · 25/05/2020 13:55

Lost 2lbs this week. Lots of walking but not much good eating, will try harder.

justanotherneighinparadise · 25/05/2020 14:21

2lb is brilliant!!! Well done @Zazu44 👊

Zazu44 · 25/05/2020 14:34

Thankyou ❤️

buggeroffvirus · 25/05/2020 16:35

I have lost another pound, I should be feeling happy but too fed today because of the Government

TrenchTown · 25/05/2020 18:17

Well done to the losers and for sticking to the plan. I have been much better on the food front today. My lot are having a bbq in a bit, I just had a bowl of bran flakes 😫 I'm so tempted to eat bbq food but I was so bad last week that I'm making a big big effort now. I can't be trusted with bbq!

Well done to everyone who's lost. See you next Monday for more of the same.

I've had a bit of a crap day after such a good start. Plus I am wearing the most unflattering outfit (leggings and a t-shirt for mucking around the house, not actually to go out in) that really shows off how much work I've got left. Good motivation if a little depressing at the same time!

DollyPartons · 25/05/2020 21:40

A measly 1lb off today, so 14 st 4lbs.But I have been 14.11 over the lockdown so 1lb from last week, 7 overall.

Clothes not as tight and I'm feeling lighter.

justanotherneighinparadise · 26/05/2020 07:56

Another pound off this morning! I’m actually really shocked the weights coming off so fast! I expect it will slow down soon but hopefully let me nudge under 160lbs before it does 🤦🏻‍♀️

Trandafire · 26/05/2020 08:04

Great @justanotherneighinparadise Smile

Going to be a tough one for me today as I had DD in bed with me and didn't get much sleep, and lack of sleep for me usually means ravenous hunger and stuffing my face. But I've got the day off work so could squeeze in a nap and have lots of things to keep me busy.

Pippinlily · 26/05/2020 08:05

I’d like to join you all if that’s ok. I know I’m a week late.
I’m 5’4” & 12st 7lb. I feel peak fatness too, I rarely weigh myself but I don’t think I’ve been over 12st before so I was shocked when I got on the scales. I probably need to lose 3st, but would be happy with 2. My first aim is for under 11st 7.
I’m in so many bad habits with food (Half bottle wine & bar choc every night when i want to flop, finishing kids dinners/nibbling when prepping them, big portions, carb heavy). I need to break them. & get exercise embedded as habit.

I’ve never dieted before. Hated the idea. But I’m 39 now & If I’m honest my weight has really been in a slow trajectory up.
I want some more energy & to feel good in/about clothes again. At the moment I feel like a tank. So wide & a proper belly overhang.

Reading about your losses this week have been inspiring.
I’m going in relatively gently I guess. It seems a big deal to me. I might have to go in harder if I’m not losing.
Things I’m going to do:

  1. run or yoga 20mins every morning.
  2. narrower eating window. I know I’ll struggle to achieve 16:8 but hopefully restricting it a bit will help.
  3. mindful of food generally, cutting snacks & a reducing carbs a bit.

Will see how i go. But i need some accountability so I’m hoping you’ll all help.

TrenchTown · 26/05/2020 08:54

@Pippinlily I'm glad that you have decided to join us, good luck.

I am 5'4 too and every pound shows, mainly around my middle. This warm weather and fatness is not a great combination.

Welcome to the club Pippinlilly. Accountability really helps doesn't it.

I wasn't satisfied with 1lb off after avoiding ice cream all week so weighed this morn as well! Another pound off so two pound in one week. Feeling motivated again. I will:
Keep to 8 glasses water daily;
Weetabix , milk breakfast;
Lunch of natural yoghurt, mixed berries;
Meat and a third veggies on plate, small carb
Tiny treat of curly wuttly
Snacks of fruit.
Well done all

Zazu44 · 26/05/2020 09:06

Pippylily I'm exactly the same height/weight as you, 2lb down 1st week. I think it's tough especially at the moment and I'm trying to be mindful with my eating, so often I just shove it in without thinking what I'm actually eating and also comfort eat. Good luck x

Hippofrog · 26/05/2020 09:24

Can I join? I’m 5,5 and 13,3 and want to be 11st by Christmas. I’m starting today doing the 3 day Military diet to kick start (I’ve done this before and it wasn’t so bad) and then moving on to a healthy 1300 cals a day. Only having alcohol at weekends. I’ve let myself go badly.

TrenchTown · 26/05/2020 09:57

@DollyPartons Does a Curly Wuttly have less calories than a Curly Wurly? 🤣

OP posts:
justanotherneighinparadise · 26/05/2020 09:58

🤭

TrenchTown · 26/05/2020 09:59

@Hippofrog morning and welcome to peak fatness club. I struggled to be good for most of last week and only lost 3/4lb so I'm more determined this week.

OP posts:
withadivinebeatlesbaseline · 26/05/2020 10:04

@TrenchTown are you sure you’re not me? I’ve only lost 3/4 lb this week and a bit disheartened.
Although I’m holding hope that once my muscles have recovered from running it will go down! I was very pleased I did a hilly 10km Sunday and 5km with running buggy yesterday. Seeing the scales not budging makes me want to eat biscuits....

Well done to everyone For keeping on 👏

TrenchTown · 26/05/2020 10:09

@withadivinebeatlesbaseline to be honest it was a miracle that I lost anything last week after all the scoffing I did for half of the week. I'm aiming for a 2lb loss this week so fingers crossed.

I found it depressing last night when my family were munching on bbq food, but I have to make sacrifices unfortunately.

Moo678 · 26/05/2020 10:17

Hi @Pippinlily. I'm 39 too and I do not want to hit the big 40 at this weight! I think your plan sounds like a good one.

I'm feeling really inspired. Managed a clean fast from Sunday into Monday. Had the day off work yesterday as it was our youngest's 2nd birthday. I had a bit of cake but otherwise didn't go crazy. I'm now just coming to the end of my 2nd 16 hr fast of the week and feeling totally fine. It's so much easier when I'm at work. My goal for the week is 7 16 hr fasts in a row plus cycling to work every day. I'm feeling really excited and hopeful.

@TrenchTown Well done for avoiding the BBQ food. My husband (BMI of 21) ate an entire bar of cadburys dairy milk on the sofa next to me last night. I do admit to giving it a good sniff but I stayed strong and feel so virtuous today.
