Anyone up for sorting their lard body out? I've peaked with my fatness and I need to sort it. I can no longer hide. Tomorrow will be the day. Are you up for it too?

Anyone else weighing on a Monday? Very very tempted to get on the scales today but am going to hold out. It helps that I don't have batteries for it and have to use the ones from the TV remote Grin

@Pinkvici22

I'm reading a book - it's called Delay Don't Deny by Gin Stephens. It was quite expensive but it's interesting and she provides links to lots of other evidence. She also runs a Facebook group which is free to join. It's a bit OTT but quite inspiring too. I also found loads of free info on diet doctor.

I have read that it can take a couple of weeks for your body to start responding to IF. Also are you 'clean fasting?' Apparently you should only drink black coffee, black tea and water / fizzy water. Even flavoured waters or fruit teas can cause an insulin surge. I take this with a pinch of salt but at the same time I feel if I'm buying into the concept then I might as well do it fully.

TrenchTown · 22/05/2020 11:19

@Trandafire I'm weighing on Monday.

Thanks Moo

I have been having coffees with a splash of almond milk but other than that just water or peppermint tea. I really need to try to stick to it for a few weeks - I’m useless with no holiday to look forward to - the bikini stress normally is the motivation I need!!

lou967 · 22/05/2020 11:39

Weighed in this morning and I'm 3 pound down.

justanotherneighinparadise · 22/05/2020 11:51

Well done lou

I stayed the same this morning and have just completed my third (I think) 20-23 hour fast. So I’m scoffing 🤭

Trandafire · 22/05/2020 12:03

@TrenchTown see you on Monday then!

I just took some 'before' photos, not a pretty sight. Will try to remember to take some every few weeks.

Fast day going ok. Did Joe Wicks this morning despite cricked neck and took my daughter out to have her feet measured for the first time and buy some new shoes. Housework this afternoon while she's at her dad's.

wizzler · 22/05/2020 13:20

Right you lot have inspired me to root out DDs skipping rope. I'm 55, and my ankles don't seem to flex like they should so this may not go well. Worth a try though!

TildaTurnip · 22/05/2020 19:45

Well done, Lou!

SlightyJaded · 22/05/2020 22:17

Just completed by second fasting day of the week. First week in and so, so relieved to have finally started. But, I really need to get some scales from Amazon. Our were shit and completely inconsistent and unreliable so I binned them a year or so back, and have rather enjoyed not being able to weigh myself. I'm sure that hasn't helped with the predicament I find myself in now where I reckon I am close to 14 stone at 5.6"

But I've started - and I will keep using this thread for encouragement.

Well done to everyone that has lost weight this week.

helenb706 · 23/05/2020 06:49

Morning all...hope you got through Friday night on a bank holiday weekend ok. Supportive husband made pizzas in the outdoor oven and drank masses of wine. I held firm and then had a tiny bit of the cheese and felt so sick.... think it was guilt! Normally I would have succumbed to everything, so I am definitely in a different zone mentally. Good luck to everyone for Saturday dieting.

Moo678 · 23/05/2020 07:07

Argh! I fell off the wagon last night with Pringles and a beer. I really enjoyed them but then felt awful in bed later - couldn’t sleep til after 1am. Makes me wonder if the fasting way really is better. Anyway now bearing myself up. Straight back on it today. Will eat at 11 even though that’s only a 13 hr fast and close my window at 7. I’m still feeling positive - think I might read a bit more about emotional eating as that’s definitely what happened last night.

Moo678 · 23/05/2020 07:08

@helenb706 well done for staying strong.

wizzler · 23/05/2020 07:31

Morning everyone
.Moo I had a wobble too last night and ate some cake.
However I ate less than I would normally have done, and I hadn't snacked all day ( amazing for me) .
I'm being a lot more active then normal and hoping for a positive result for Monday weigh in.
I'm trying to keep it sensible. I know if I try to give up tea i wouldn't make it. My mantra is eat less move more and think about what your eating and it seems to be working

TildaTurnip · 23/05/2020 07:53

@helenb706 well done. I find pizza the hardest to resist.

I think if I have a blip then just leaving it as a blip and not a vortex into binging will be a win.

Trandafire · 23/05/2020 08:06

On the subject of emotional eating, yesterday when my ex came to pick up DD he was being an a dick and afterwards I felt so so hungry! I pushed through it, did my cleaning and went for a walk with a friend to distract me and it worked. Not hungry at all later on. Funny how your emotions can control something that feels so physical. Happy Saturday everyone Smile

MillieMoodle · 23/05/2020 08:45

Morning all, I've been AWOL since Tuesday as had a stressful and busy week at work and have fallen so, so far off the wagon. I've eaten more Jaffa cakes and other junk than usual BlushI'm so annoyed with myself.

I'm back on it from today though - going to try 16:8 with my eating window from 12-8. I also need to take time each day to check in with the thread, otherwise my motivation slips. Also I'm going to order a skipping rope!

withadivinebeatlesbaseline · 23/05/2020 09:17

I really struggle with sticking to calorie limit. I’ve worked out why I could do it last time- my husband was working away so we didn’t have yummy dinners, pudding and wine!! Thinking 16:8 might help to counteract that one. Also work stressful and I’m still working more hours on covid surge rota, hopefully can go back to part time by August Confused

incognitomum · 23/05/2020 09:21

Going on a hike today so hopefully I'll burn off some of my kite Wink

Good luck everyone.

incognitomum · 23/05/2020 09:22

@Trandafire well done and sorry you have a dickhead ex.

justanotherneighinparadise · 23/05/2020 10:22

Weighed into today and am 163lbs. Happy with that! Think I’ve lost three pounds this week so I’m a happy girl and hopefully by the end of next week I might just be knocking on 160lb 👊

justanotherneighinparadise · 23/05/2020 10:24

@Trandafire I feel you. My son just had an hour long meltdown over bloody Mathseeds and I really resisted the temptation to head to the fridge. My fast is over but I want to wait till midday to eat. I wobbled but I’m not upstairs having a bath and I haven’t succumbed 😬

Lordfrontpaw · 23/05/2020 10:40

I downloaded the BBC app (fatty to 5k or something). I’m going to start after the bank holiday (our park is hoaching with huge gangs of lads on bikes or boozing just now - I’m sure they won’t pout and laungh...h

Lordfrontpaw · 23/05/2020 10:42

Oh - I have to pick my trainer. Anyone using this? Any suggestions?

I’ve gone for Michael Johnson. Don’t know who he is but he’s got a nice face. Maybe he won’t yell ‘run fatty run’. Sara Millican looks like she would.

buggeroffvirus · 23/05/2020 11:17

Hello everyone, no change on the scales today but I will not be deterred.
Yesterday I had a hospital appointment for a scan so it was the first time I had been properly dressed and not in leggings since the lock down started.
As I tried to pull my tights on I realised that things were worse than I thought, they were so tight I couldn't even get the crutch up.
Leggings are not my friend
