Anyone up for sorting their lard body out? I've peaked with my fatness and I need to sort it. I can no longer hide. Tomorrow will be the day. Are you up for it too?

I also don't drink any booze so that's half the battle too.

Straysocks · 21/05/2020 18:24

@MaggieTheFrog good idea with the measuring, going to try that. @Milicentbystander72 welcome aboard!

Milicentbystander72 · 21/05/2020 18:26

Thanks Wink

Trandafire · 21/05/2020 19:02

@YouKnowWhoo thank you Flowers
@Milicentbystander72 welcome

Also a bit uninspired today but ate well and didn't eat toddler's leftovers. Kicking bad habits! Fast tomorrow. It's a holiday weekend where I am and I'd usually have a couple of beers in the fridge but it'll be hot water with a slice of lemon instead tonight. I've promised myself a beer when I lose 2kg Grin

helenb706 · 21/05/2020 19:34

Milicentbystander72... I know exactly how you feel. I am really struggling with the menopause and HRT has helped so much... puts me in a better frame of mind rather than just comfort eating then feeling shit. If you don't drink that will be a great benefit... alas I fo but so far nothing since Saturday... supportive husband currently on his second glass in front of me. You really will get there if you want to and the HRT will help.

justanotherneighinparadise · 21/05/2020 20:39

I’m 45 and take bio identical HRT. I am peri menopausal at the moment. No real symptoms yet but my plan was to ease into the menopause not have it run me over in five years time.

I had to prepare pizza for my family’s dinner too 🙈. There was some garlic bread left o Ed which I’ve put in the fridge for me tomorrow as part of lunch 👊

Onthebrink67 · 21/05/2020 20:45

@Milicentbystander72 welcome I’m going through the menopause too and am finding it hard to lose weight. Day 2 of 16:8 done. I’m not being strict about what I eat within the window as I want to get this habit established first.

Milicentbystander72 · 21/05/2020 22:35

Thanks for the welcome and good to know (if good is the right word for it!) that there are others here suffering the menopause. I've literally never felt so generally ill and fat in my whole life. I'm hoping the HRT will help, at least give me a bit of energy back. It's good to know it's helped some of you.

I've done 3 days of 16:8. Im not being too strict either with the actual food within the 8 hour window either. I need to firm the habit as well.

I do need to increase the veg though. We cook from scratch as a family and have veg, but for breakfast and lunch (and snacks!) I heavily rely on bread and pasta.

Moo678 · 21/05/2020 22:55

Hi everyone, nice to see lots of other IF people. Glad lots are doing 16:8. I’ve been hanging out on an evangelical Facebook page where everyone does 36 hr fasts then eats an avocado and does it all again!

3rd day of IF for me today and by far the hardest. Was at home with the kids and doing homeschool with a tearful 8 yr old, smug 10 yr old and a demented toddler nearly broke me! I stayed strong and stuck to my window though.

....admittedly within the window I ate a bag of crisps and a slice of banana bread but I’m trying not to worry. Like others have said I’m going to establish the habit first then I’ll tweak my diet further if I’m not losing.

Back at work tomorrow which means 10 miles of cycling and blissful peace in my office!

TildaTurnip · 22/05/2020 06:38

Moo678 just an avocado?! Wow!

Actually, I think that sounds much more preferable to the three shakes a day I’m doing Grin

Trandafire · 22/05/2020 06:58

You'd think after 36 hours you'd want something nicer than an avocado Envy. Can't stand the things. I've cricked my neck in my sleep and the pain is shooting right down my arm so am going to have to modify today's exercise a bit. Annoying.

TildaTurnip · 22/05/2020 06:59

Just weighed myself and -9lb (4kg) since Monday morning when I started. It’s such a miserable diet but I do need to lose quickly so the results are keeping me focused and motivated.

Casino218 · 22/05/2020 07:02

I'm aiming to lose a stone and a half. I've lost 2.5Iib since Monday so I'm on my way.

Trandafire · 22/05/2020 07:16

@TildaTurnip wow that's amazing. It's good to have that boost at the beginning so you keep going. If you don't mind me asking, how much do you have to lose? And how long is your diet and what's the plan for maintaining afterwards?

helenb706 · 22/05/2020 07:19

Morning all...really hard to stay on track last night but really pleased I did as another 1 lb off. I will remember how good this morning feels having lost and not sinned rather than waking up and kicking myself, which is the norm for me. Have a good day everyone.

Moo678 · 22/05/2020 07:43

@TildaTurnip I was exaggerating! But they don’t seem to each much after fasting for so long.

@Trandafire I love avocados but I also love crisps and pizza! Hope your neck improves.

I’m increasingly jealous of your losses. I did slim fast a few years ago and lost half a stone in 2 weeks. I’m tempted to do it again. Then I think with lockdown what’s the point it’s not like anyone will see me - I might as well lose slowly!!

Tempted to stand on the scales this morning....

TildaTurnip · 22/05/2020 07:55

@moo678 Grin given how ridiculous my diet is right now it didn’t seem questionable!

@Trandafire I’m doing the Cambridge diet and want to loose 8 stone (yeah I know it is hideous). I had lost 3lb since March before starting this as have been eating what I like whilst in lockdown but then decided I needed to go hard in order to lower the risks associated with obesity and covid. I can do this part of the diet for 12 weeks before having to go up a stage for a week (I think). I plan to keep going until I get to my target. The Cambridge plan has steps to reintroduce proper meals, I just need to get to that point without giving up!

Moo678 · 22/05/2020 08:02

I stood on the scales!!! I’m down 2 lbs with 3 days of fasting.

I appreciate this may well just be a normal fluctuation / water weights / aliens stole the weight but I’m so hopeful that I might have found something that works for me.... fingers crossed for official weigh day on Tuesday.

@Tildaturnip I think wanting to lose weight fast for health reasons is a very good reason to do something like the Cambridge diet. It’s great that they support you with going back to solid food too. I imagine that might be hardest part.

TrenchTown · 22/05/2020 08:50

Morning all. Had a terrible day yesterday as my ds brought home a fully loaded Indian meal for us. Was lovely, we ate in the garden with lots of beers and chocolate. Feeling bloated and sluggish today. I will make up for it today.

Bloody hell @TildaTurnip you are doing so so well. I'm jealous of your commitment 🤣

Morning all

I’ve been lurking, but thought I should say hi!

I’m 5’4 and 10st 12...would like to be around 9 1/2.

Started 16:8 on Monday and had a sneaky weigh in this morning - scales were exactly the same!!! So disappointed even though it’s only been 4 days. My problem is when this happens I normally give up. I’m doing my best to be positive and this thread is definitely helping, so thank you.

Has anyone got any links to resources so I can learn more about 16:8? There’s so much online I don’t know where to start.

wizzler · 22/05/2020 09:31

Morning everyone. Day off today so hopefully long dog walks and gardening will burn some calories and keep me out of the house so I can't mindlessly eat biscuits.

DollyPartons · 22/05/2020 09:40

I had a takeaway on Tuesday with a lot of salt. I gained 2lb by Wednesday morning! Back off this morning , so it goes to show water retention. McDonald's have opened drive thrus. It seems like years ago. I'm going to set myself a stone off = a McDonalds. Until then, farewell my old friend Grin

Straysocks · 22/05/2020 09:44

Well done, losers! @TrenchTown keep going , I wish my evening had been as lovely as your sounds. Skipping rope arrived yesterday, I did about 5 mins throughout the day and can barely stand this morning. It's bloody good for you calves!

LittleTopic · 22/05/2020 09:58

Morning everyone!

Did OK yesterday, it was so warm we had a bbq so grilled steaks and salad for dinner, not too bad. I had one glass of wine and then had such a terrible headache (really muggy weather gives me migraines) that I went to bed with DD!

Had green tea this morning and have just said no to chocolates in the office 💪🏻

@TrenchTown that sounds like a lovely evening!

TildaTurnip · 22/05/2020 10:33

I’ve got a skipping rope and now looking at it suspiciously after reading your comments Grin
