@cricketmum84 I did 20 minutes on the cross trainer. Tomorrow’s plan is another 30 minutes and 20 minutes of weights.

ploughingthrough · 19/02/2020 08:42

Hi all. I've been stuck at 67.4kg for a few days with no move in either direction. I feel like maybe I've lost most of the weight I'm going to lose on my current 16:8 plan. It is 8kg so far which is good but I need to make an adjustment to adjust the extra few kg.
Today I did my first HIIT workout followed by some free weights. Plan to repeat X3 a week and hope this will help me keep going down. Big admiration for all you no carbers out there. I've ditched bread and pasta but still eating brown rice and a few potatos I just can't maintain no carb at all.

Tryingtwo · 19/02/2020 09:42

Good morning all, weigh in day and I'm up 0.6lbs to 12st 13lbs. 10 days left to lose 1.4lbs to make February's target.

recklessgran · 19/02/2020 10:04

@Tryingtwo that's still brilliant! I've still got 3.25 lbs to go to make the February target and get into the 12's. @Cricketmum84 well done on your loss - I hope low carbing works for you. I have to say that I'm not craving the bread and chips as much as I thought I would. I'm just viewing them as my kind of crack and therefore off limits, probably forever, as it is impossible for me to eat either of them in moderation. I'm still not doing any exercise even though I know I should. Truth be told - I hate it and even from the walking point of view I still drive everywhere despite living in a pretty village with lovely walks around me. Need to give myself a talking to.

cricketmum84 · 19/02/2020 10:24

Thanks @recklessgran I'm quite shocked that I'm seeing a loss already after only a day v low carb.

Yes talking to needed here too! I also live in a lovely place for walking even though I'm on the outskirts of a very big city. If I walk out of my front door and cross the toad there is a lovely walk through fields to the next village. I've lived here 11 years and not done it once. I also have free weights, a cross trainer and an exercise bike in the garage!

I've just prepped a load of salad and some carrot and cucumber sticks in 2 airtight containers for the fridge. I'm terrible for intending to have salad with something and then not bothering to make it so hoping this will give me a kick to put more salad on m plate.

Desperately need another veg delivery!

Why on earth would bloody auto correct think I meant toad and not road!!!

Hello @speisaalmilk and welcome to the thread!

@cricketmum84 I feel your pain re vegetarian/veganish low-carbing! But glad it has worked for you so far.

@SconNotScone it was a shakshuka from Cook Food -- normally such a treat to eat their food, and I'd really been looking forward to it, but it just wasn't to my taste. Think I might try to make my own next time actually as it seems quite a straightforward recipe.

MotherOfDragonite · 19/02/2020 11:57

So, today is my weigh in day and I have lost 3lb! I am really pleased! I have been really good about sticking within my points and the green plan on WW is definitely working for me so far.

10lb gone in total now, 62lb still to go.

The plan today:

B: boiled egg on half a bagel with Tabasco sauce
L: vegetable soup
D: I am not sure but probably sweet potato, bean mash and salad
S: oat milk latte, banana, apple

It's half term so DD1 and I have been hanging out and chilling. We might go to an art gallery later for some culture before going to get the little one! I will have to avoid my Achilles heel, the post-gallery vegan doughnut shop...

Egghead68 · 19/02/2020 13:28

65.8kg so up 2kg on pre-holiday weight and 3 more days to go before I’m home. Oh well. It’s been worth it!

recklessgran · 19/02/2020 13:45

@MotherofDragonite well done on your loss - that's brilliant and gives you such a good feeling doesn't it? Hope you enjoy the gallery
and avoid the doughnuts. @Egghead68 glad you're enjoying your holiday - you'll soon drop that weight once you get home and back on it.
I've just bought a bargain pedal exerciser to put under my desk. I'm not sure how much difference it will make but I'm hoping it will be better than nothing and may at least build a tiny bit of muscle in my legs perhaps? My desk is where I spend most of my life so logic tells me it's a good place to start!

speisaalmilk · 19/02/2020 13:59

Thank you all for the welcome! Yes I am a bit of a nerd so I like a nice organised spreadsheet. Not so organised when it comes to things like getting up early to get a workout in 😂

Had a maintenance day (pancakes and Nando’s 😱) yesterday to celebrate the halfway point so back on it today.

Mostly I am annoyed at the secret meeting my body seems to have had without me to discuss how weight loss should be distributed: “ok guys, get rid of the boobs, we don’t need those, but for god’s sake let’s hang onto the weird lower back fat at all costs.” The person who works out spot reduction will be a millionaire!

Thank you @recklessgran!

I have a family party this weekend, which I will make some allowance for as I want to be able to celebrate with the others, but otherwise planning to continue to be good.

10k steps today but didn't manage to drink enough water. I really need to find some way to make it more of a regular habit!

DownUdderer · 20/02/2020 02:26

@speisaalmilk yes! Why do our boobs have to go but muffin top stays in place?

I've had a salad for lunch. I found a lovely bean salad at the supermarket and I've been having it all the time, it's perfect for me because I'm lazy. I add avocado and cheese and cold meat. I think it's healthy but I'm not losing any weight though. I should knuckle down with low carb but I just can't focus at the moment.

I'm planning a hike tomorrow, I will head into the bush. I think it'll be muddy from the recent rain. My week this week has really flown by!

cricketmum84 · 20/02/2020 07:04

Morning all! Up bright and early today! Out for a short walk and then planning on a quiet day of disney films and staying warm and dry with littlest DD. She wants to bake so I need to be super good and not eat any of it!

Hopped on the scales and I'm another 2lbs lighter. So 3lbs in 2 days of v low carbing. My body really likes this way of eating! Must stick to it and not get tempted back to the dark side 😂

Plan for today is:
B - soy yoghurt and frozen berries
L - carrot and cucumber batons with the rest of my hummous
D - DD is making tortilla pizzas, I'm going to try an omelette base with a little cheese, sliced cherry tomatoes and veggie pepperoni.

Lots of water and peppermint tea.

@speisaalmilk and @DownUdderer yes!! The boobs are always the first thing to go! Maybe this is why DH keeps trying to give me chips??

@MotherOfDragonite I need one of those bottles with the time markers on for when I'm at work. I'm really good at drinking water at home but at work I can to the end of the day and realise I'm still on the same glass I poured when I arrived...

Hope you are having a lovely holiday @Egghead68 don't worry about a little gain, it's a holiday after all and you know you can lose it again when you get home.

Fab loss @MotherOfDragonite well done!!! You are smashing February!

@MotherOfDragonite I've found a great website called delish where there are loads of vegetarian keto recipes! Cheesy cauliflower bread sounds amazing.

MotherOfDragonite · 20/02/2020 08:49

Thank you @cricketmum84! My body actually responds really well to low-carb diets, and I guess as I lose weight I might need to think about making some changes, but I'm reluctant as it seems like extra work and as a single mum of two relatively young children (who like carbs!) I'm just not sure I can cope with more work.

I had no idea that there were water bottles with time marked on them! That's a genius idea!

JontyDoggle37 · 20/02/2020 08:59

Morning all. Back up again this morning, for no good reason, apart from I suppose that it’s TOTM. Getting a bit down with it this week, although I haven’t been fully on it, so no-one but myself to blame. I need to do low carb @cricketmum84 but I find it so hard to maintain, and as soon as I eat any carbs it seems to pile back on straight away...oh I need to give myself a slap and get on with it. Grin

cricketmum84 · 20/02/2020 09:27

I think the trick is to find things to replace the carbs so you don't feel like you are missing out. I'm enjoying spending my AL looking up recipes :) I'm meal planning for next week at the same time.
So far I've discovered through researching and trying things out:

Cauliflower mash is absolutely gorgeous and I may prefer it to potatoes
Iceland do microwave portions of green "rice" which is shredded cauli, broccoli, courgette and kale and very nice
Cauliflower cheese "bread"
Cloud bread
Cauli cheese pizza crust
Eggs, eggs and more eggs
Topped nachos made with sliced peppers instead of Doritos
You can do literally anything with a cauliflower
I can use my unspent carb points on cheese!

@MotherOfDragonite this is the bottle I'm going to order!

I'm back up again which doesn't really make any sense unless my Italian from 2 days ago has finally impacted. Although it is also TOTM. My cycle is crazy atm.

cricket I love cauliflower mash but had got out of the habit of making it. Thanks for reminding me it exists!

jonty I'll give you a slap if you give me one. Let's blame our low moods and our high scales on our hormones.

Onesmallstep67 · 20/02/2020 11:29

15st 3lbs this morning. Bobbling around losing and gaining the same couple of pounds at the moment. 10 days left of Feb and hoping to shift 2lbs more before the end of the month. Weather and lack of opportunity isn't helping my walk or cycle every day plan !

Tryingtwo · 20/02/2020 11:33

Good morning all, I've been out this morning on my own without dgc. I had a coffee, bought some books and bras and generally just wandered and browsed - it was wonderful.
Scale were erratic this morning, I weighed between 12st 12lbs and 12st 13.4lbs, so I'll count it as a sts and replace the battery.
