No change on weight and no exercise or walks completed. Craving comfort food and wanting to eat even when not hungry. Depending on how things go over the next few weeks I might go to the doctor's. Getting quite a lot of hot flushes and no period for 2 months but feeling constantly premenstrual for the last month. I'm due a blood test etc in early April so that might be a good time. Not sure I want HRT though. Anyone with any experience of HRT ?

Onesmallstep67 · 12/02/2020 09:35

Well done @cricketmum84. Fantastic feeling when you start to see and feel the physical changes.

Tryingtwo · 12/02/2020 10:08

Good morning all, it's my weigh in day today - stayed the same as yesterday at 13st 0.8lbs, hopefully in the 12s very soon.

recklessgran · 12/02/2020 10:19

Morning all. @cricketmum84 it's lovely when you know you look good in your clothes - well done you. Hope you have a lovely day. Still plodding on here. Food plan for today is 2 salads, 1 chicken and 1 salmon I think. Nothing else except water. According to MFP I'm not having enough calories - about 597 yesterday but if I eat more I gain. I'm blaming the thyroid for this and still trying to figure it out. Anyway, today I weighed at 13st 2lbs which is the lowest I've been for at least 10 years so I'm viewing that as a victory even though I'm dying to be in the 12s.

MotherOfDragonite · 12/02/2020 10:31

It's my weigh in day today, and I am really pleased as I have lost 2lb this week! Despite the family fondue/cake extravaganza.

I can't feel or see any difference but 7lb is gone so far. More importantly, I just feel like I am getting in control of my relationship with food and making more mindful choices about what I put in my body.

65lb still to go! The plan today:

B: Boiled egg on wholewheat toast with Tabasco sauce
L: Vegetable soup
D: Maybe homemade pizza on a wrap? Salad.
S: Banana, Itsu wasabi seaweed, miso soup

I am going to save my weekly points for a Vietnamese meal out next Tuesday evening, but to be honest it is fairly easy to make quite healthy choices so I'm hoping I will be able to have a good week ahead.

JessJonesJumps · 12/02/2020 10:39

Error messages on my scales again today. It may be time to admit I need new scales ... It rained all night and washed away the snow but it's started snowing and hailing again here.
It's encouraged me to get new curtains for the french doors to the garden because it's absolutely freezing. I've fallen in love with some Anthropologie ones but they're so expensive. Sad

KedsAndTubeSocks · 12/02/2020 12:00

@Onesmallstep67 I tried hrt, for a month or two. Unfortunately, the progesterone exacerbated my mood swings, so I stopped. I asked on the menopause board here, and someone recommended some supplements which have really helped. Periods still very irregular, but I'm much calmer now.

KedsAndTubeSocks · 12/02/2020 12:02

@recklessgran 597 calories! Goodness!

NerrSnerr · 12/02/2020 13:51

Hi all. The scales went up this morning but I think it's bloat as I had a good day yesterday. My nearly 3 year old is being very demanding today so I'm resisting the urge to snack on everything. Have a busy afternoon after school as my eldest has swimming lessons, hoping the toddler behaves!!

KedsAndTubeSocks · 12/02/2020 15:28

I had a snack-cident. Had an unplanned bacon roll.

recklessgran · 12/02/2020 16:43

Oh God @KedsAndTubeSocks I do hope you enjoyed it I am SO jealous. Not one single bit of bread has passed my lips since 29th December. I miss it but can have lots of bacon and egg if I like.

Skyejuly · 12/02/2020 16:56

I'm struggling with my thyroid too! Well done everyone. If the scales go up again I will cry!

KedsAndTubeSocks · 12/02/2020 17:38

@recklessgran nah it wasn't even that nice. Bacon was nice - thick-cut, but the bread wasn't the best and there was loads of disgusting gloopy margarine. Butter or nothing thanks!
Skye are you on thyroxine? My thyroid is quite well-managed, I think, so I don't think I have any symptoms now. The recommended levels of TSH & T4 are different once you are on thyroxine though, which not many GPs seem to realise.

recklessgran · 12/02/2020 17:50

@KedsAndTubeSocks I agree about the thyroxine. I had to fight to get mine increased as my G.P. thought it would be O.K. to stop the increases as soon as I was in the lower end of the parameters. As it happens you need to be near the top of the T4 and have your TSH virtually wiped out. I'm well managed too I believe but still struggling with the weight loss. I certainly feel better than I did but also had a prescribed weekly dose of Vit D. [A reflection of how much time I spend at my desk I believe. @Skyejuly you have by utmost sympathy - solidarity sisters!

JontyDoggle37 · 12/02/2020 18:13

Evening all
Didn’t weigh in this morning as had dinner out last night and the extra salt in restaurant food always makes me retain water. Today isn’t gone brilliantly from a food perspective, lots of bread as nothing else in/defrosted in time and I’ve got a banging headache. Early to bed for me!
@JessJonesJumps hope you’re ok haven’t seen you today!

beforeIhit30 · 12/02/2020 18:14

@recklessgran @KedsAndTubeSocks @Skyejuly hello my people! Hypothyroidism here too Grin I’m one of those that thyroxine helps the symptoms but not enough (so still get cold, weak, sore, fading eyebrows, tired etc, just not as bed pre-meds, and my blood work comes back really good and when dose was higher I went hyperthyroid), but I’ve found diet and exercise help hugely and I can feel relatively normal with that.

Congratulations @cricketmum84! Enjoy your confidence, that’s great Smile

My posting has become more irregular just from being busy and not being on here much, but I’ve been diligent on Carb Manager and tracking everything. I’m now ‘proper’ keto (was LCHF before) and on new supplements (following professional advice), and doing regular exercise (mainly Pilates at the moment), and honestly I’m feeling pretty great. I eat around 1400 calories per day, tends to be two larger meals and a snack (that’s how I naturally eat anyway, not just a weight loss thing).

I’m only 7.8lb away from my initial goal of being pre-pregnancy weight, my main goal is 5lb lower which would actually take me to what I weighed 10 years ago, so being only 12.8lb away from that is just wow.

Keep on keeping on all Star

KedsAndTubeSocks · 12/02/2020 19:36

I bought the book containing the guidelines to show my GP. When she saw it, she just said I probably know more about it than she did, which was slightly worrying! I don't worry too much about blood test results, I just increase my dosage until the palpitations start, then I decrease it a tiny amount.
If anyone wants a copy of the guidelines, I can dig the book out.
My eyebrows are almost non-existent, but everything else seems ok.

cricketmum84 · 12/02/2020 19:55

Sorry I've not been around today. Very busy day at work.

Well my meal plan went slightly awry, I was so hungry this morning that I ate my sandwich in the car 😂 then had a mushroom cup a soup for lunch. Not had time for any fruit or for my ww bar. Switched chilli to a veggie keema madras for dinner which I'm just waiting for it to finish cooking!

AND a lady in the office stopped me to say how great I looked in my outfit today! Looking forward to rocking another new size 16 top tomorrow!

Sleep well @JontyDoggle37 hope you feel better tomorrow

Oops @KedsAndTubeSocks! Well come on we can't be perfect all the time. Slim people have snaccidents too they just pull back on other meals for the day to make up for it. That's what I try to do :)

Nice one @MotherOfDragonite. Congratulations on the loss ❤️

I'm not having a good day, dgs1 woke up at 3.00am freezing cold as he had kicked his covers off, he got into our bed to warm up and didn't go back. He moves a lot in his sleep so consequently neither dh or I slept again.
I was hungrier after breakfast than I was before and so had a snack but lunchtime it all went to pot. Everything I ate was healthy (apart from the Freddo) but I ate everything until I felt slightly sick. I ate dinner and now I'm snacking on almonds - without weighing them.
I'm going food shopping now and will try to make good choices.

lboogy · 12/02/2020 21:54

Not had a good nutritional diet today. 2 coffees for breakfast and then 2 mini chocolates for lunch. Was in meetings all day so no time for food. Dinner was two drumsticks and home made tomato soup with a glass of wine. Total calories 750.

Is it bad to reduce calories so I can have a glass of wine? I didn't so that on purpose today but I figured i need a treat of some kind

MotherOfDragonite · 12/02/2020 22:05

Thank you @cricketmum84! It's very encouraging!

@lboogy.... tomorrow is another day.... it doesn't sound too bad though?!

MotherOfDragonite · 12/02/2020 22:15

My day also went off-piste... I was going to have vegetable soup for lunch, but a friend rang and wanted to meet, so instead I had a coffee. And I was so tired that I ordered a banh mi baguette for supper, which was ok points-wise but not really the plan.

JessJonesJumps · 12/02/2020 22:44

@JontyDoggle37 I'm here - just haven't weighed because my scales are being temperamental. Lots of rushing about today and eating of rubbish. I do find it hard to eat well when I'm freezing.
Food delivery coming tomorrow with lots of healthy snacks to try to get back on track.

ploughingthrough · 13/02/2020 03:11

I think I'm going to struggle to get 3kg loss at the moment by end of month. It's getting harder!
I've lost 1.4kg since the 1st current weight is 68kg where I've been stuck for few days. If I can lose 2kg by the end of this month that would be good enough for me as I have a 4 day holiday at end of the month where eating is going to happen.
