Just back from the dentist as piece had broken off one of my teeth. Apparantly the tooth next to it, which has a crown, has an abscess. He tested both teeth with and thr nerve on the abcessed one has died so now I need a root canal on that one and a crown on the broken one. I need a 1.5 hour appointment so I've got to wait a fortnight until he can do the work. I see lots of soups and scrambled eggs in my future Smile

Tryingtwo · 07/02/2020 16:02

Sorry to hear the job didn't work out cricketmum84 but at least you know you have an additional 6 months at a job and workplace you enjoy.

Egghead68 · 07/02/2020 17:32

Great NSV @KedsAndTubeSocks.

Sorry about the job @cricketmum84 but it’s great you were offered it and great you can stay where you are till October.

I’ve been saintly (well, under 1500 calories when my break-even intake is supposedly 1960) for 3 days and I’ve managed to gain 0.2kg so I sympathise with everyone in the same boat. I’m off on holiday on Sunday so I’ll be eating what I want for 2 weeks anyhow though.

MotherOfDragonite · 07/02/2020 18:10

Congratulations @cricketmum84 on the job offer, even if you didn't take it! It's always nice to feel employable in your field. I think employers who don't offer flexible working are really stupid as they miss out on excellent people, tbh! Their loss.

B: porridge with raisins and oat milk
L: oat milk latte and pain au chocolat (!)
D: baked sweet potato, cannellini beans, salad
S: need to eat some extra fruit and veg to make up for the early part of my day!

Got my 10,000 steps in, but didn't drink enough water. I need to get better at drinking water!

MotherOfDragonite · 07/02/2020 18:12

I'm going to a family birthday celebration on Sunday, which I'm dreading slightly as there will be cake and nibbles etc. Hopefully I will resist! But I'll have to have some in order to be polite... which makes it harder to resist more!

I am loving the Itsu seaweed packs in wasabi flavour. Heaven!

chrispenrallt1 · 07/02/2020 18:15

Well I started on Monday and I decided that I would weigh on a Friday as if I weighed on the Monday the flipping scales could put me in a bad place if not going the right way. So I weighed today and I’ve lost 7 lb. I know it’s mostly water but it’s a good start. Weekends are always difficult but I’ll try my best. I made almond and mozzarella dough today and cut it up to use as biscuits if I felt the urge for something bread.only 3 carbs a piece and quite nice, husband has hoovered up 3 pieces! Water water water is my mantra!!

cricketmum84 · 07/02/2020 18:36

Nice one @chrispenrallt1! Amazing first week loss!!

I need new clothes Confused
Trousers are hanging off me. Good but annoying.

ploughingthrough · 07/02/2020 23:31

I'm having a little plateau. Been stuck at 69 kg for nearly a week. Exercise has decreased due to DH being away and not being able to go out but he's back now so I will recommence.
I haven't started eating more but perhaps I need to decrease calories even more.

DownUdderer · 08/02/2020 02:05

I’m down a pound. So I’m mightily happy with that. I had a huge long walk yesterday and I’ve just this minute got I from another good long walk. My legs are aching in a good way. I’m having a soak in the bath.

Things in the past couple of months that have helped me get through a plateau and lose weight again include, eggs (only ate eggs for a whole day, I’d planned that for two days but couldn’t face it!), eating more (ate an extra meal for a couple of days), only eating weetbix and milk for a day.

@recklessgran can you walk out the front door and stretch your legs during the day? You could walk for just three minutes then come back again. That’d get your step count up! I’ve been known to walk around the shopping mall three or four times to get the steps in when the weather is unfavourable.

Koko everyone:)

Egghead68 · 08/02/2020 05:49

Nice one @DownUdderer. I’m down a pound too finally (63.9kg)! I was giving up hope that the scales would ever shift. I hope it’s not a blip.

chrispenrallt1 · 08/02/2020 06:08

Thanks cricketmum. It’s been 5 days since I ate any bread or cake or carbs stuff. The weekend will be difficult, but not impossible. I’m planning our food for the weekend, and no beer for me during the rugby!

JontyDoggle37 · 08/02/2020 07:11

Well done on the losses @Egghead68 and @DownUdderer! I’m back up again today, yo-yo territory at the moment. Today is the first day off steroids which I’m a bit nervous about, from a breathing perspective. Super busy day as well, with shopping, doing my horse, DS to rugby, and DS to a birthday party, plus my horse again, and then working all evening. DH is away on a lads weekend Hmm

cricketmum84 · 08/02/2020 08:06

I love seei NC all your losses coming in. Well done to all especially @Egghead68 and @DownUdderer for breaking the plateau!

I'm down another pound this morning!! That's 5lbs in the first 8 days of the month so I'm over the moon.

I think the differences have been - less meat substitutes and more beans and vegetables, more fruit, haven't had pasta or rice and minimal bread. My activity is up a little as DH got two apple watches through work and we have activity challenges set up so I've been doing things to get a few extra steps in such as parking in furthest space away, walking to the shop rather than driving, parking further away from school, it all adds up.

Still can't beat him though 😂 he walked 37 miles last week. He's like bloody Forrest Gump.

Plan for today is:
B - peppermint tea and an apple
L - don't really do lunch on a Saturday, probably a couple of satsumas
D - treat night! Veggie hot dog topped with crispy onions! Yum!

Have a great Saturday everyone!

@KedsAndTubeSocks what a lovely problem to have! I can't wait to have this problem! Wink

Nice one @DownUdderer and @Egghead68! KOKO to the rest of the lovely losers.

I've been hovering at the same weight for a few days since getting my 5lb loss in my first week. Despite walking 10k steps a day and sticking to my green WW plan. I kind of feel I am kicking some bad habits, though, as just eating normally and maintaining is a huge positive change from the past year.

Plan for today:
B: boiled egg on half a bagel with Tabasco!
L: vegetable and lentil soup
D: pasta with tomato sauce, mange tout, salad

Need to drink more water and survive taking the kids to a birthday party!

MotherOfDragonite · 08/02/2020 09:08

Nice one @cricketmum84, well done!!! (and thanks for encouraging the rest of us).

Do you think it makes a difference on WW where the points are from? Eg if I'm sticking within them but getting more from carbs vs proteins?

KedsAndTubeSocks · 08/02/2020 09:13

Thanks Mother. Thanks to this thread I have a nice flat stomach and slim hips & thighs. Unfortunately, I have no waist at all and big shoulders, so I don't look that great! If anyone knows how to get waist definition, please let me know, or I shall resort to wearing a corset!

recklessgran · 08/02/2020 09:19

Morning all. Well done everyone on all your losses - it's so motivating! I'm still a bit stuck. Only a pound or so difference in 2 weeks. I'm having a strategy rethink and definitely need to increase my activity especially during the week when I'm stuck at my desk. I'll see what my weigh day on Monday brings and I'm making a plan for next week involving more OMAD and more activity. I'm just hoping this isn't anything to do with my underactive thyroid gland. I lost a stone last year by calorie counting, got completely stuck, fell off the wagon and put it all back on. Thanks to you lot I'm well and truly tied to the wagon this time with a big F off rope so not going anywhere! I just have to KOKO.
Waving to @somekindofzilla - hope you're doing O.K.and have lovely plans for the weekend with your boys.
Have a great day everyone I'm off out with DH and we have friends coming tonight for dinner. Will try to catch up later.

cricketmum84 · 08/02/2020 09:24

@MotherOfDragonite honestly I'm not 100% sure? My losses had really stalled over the last 2 months even though I still have 6 stone to lose! But the difference this week has been lower carb.

I suppose we are all different and our bodies metabolise in different ways? My body obviously just isn't a fan of rice and pasta 😂

SunsetBoulevard3 · 08/02/2020 09:44

First week over. I fell off the wagon yesterday as I felt shaky, very bad tempered and disorientated. However, I have lost four pounds this week so that is really encouraging! Anyone else feel bad tempered and shaky or is it just me?

NerrSnerr · 08/02/2020 10:26

Morning all. Still plodding on here, still on a 1lb loss so far for this month but feeling motivated. I went to my first yoga class in months this week and I forgot how good it makes me feel so I'm going to put the toddler in the crèche every Thursday for an hour and do the class weekly. I'm also trying to do spinning on a Sunday. It's not loads of exercise but better than nothing.

I'm really determined to stick with it this time, I'm not doing any set 'diet' just eating better food and not so much crap and tracking on MFP so I don't overeat. If I lose 7lbs a month I will be a healthy BMI by the time we go on holiday and it's important to look my best at Butlins!

Well done on everyone's losses. @cricketmum84 you're doing amazing this month. Sorry the job didn't work out but at least you got confidence for future interviews.

JessJonesJumps · 08/02/2020 11:36

Some great losses and well done on the yoga class Nerr !
jonty hope today goes well. That's unlucky that DH is away when you have such a busy day and are just coming off your steroids. Take care.

Well, my scales started with a 12 today - hurrah! Since it's the weekend, they'll probably start with a 13 again tomorrow but for just now, I'm celebrating finally making it into the 12s.

JontyDoggle37 · 08/02/2020 11:47

Thanks @jessjonesjumps, well done on the scales victory!

Onesmallstep67 · 08/02/2020 12:18

Well done to everyone seeing losses and those persevering despite mixed results. I am stuck at 15st 4lbs. But I have not been focused on it this week, too many skipped meals but rubbish snacking as a consequence. No walks and the exercise bike gathering dust.
In other news DD continues to have success with her drama course auditions and I am meeting a new man this afternoon. Wink

y0rkier0se · 08/02/2020 13:22

Oops haven’t posted on the Feb thread yet! Weighing in at 15st 12 currently, 10lbs down after starting on January 5th. Only a 1lb loss this week, I set my self an initial goal of 1st by February half term and we break up on Friday so that would count on a 4lb loss this week! Can’t see that happening but I’d be happy with 2lb and ecstatic with 3lb!
