2lbs off for me this week. That makes 79lbs in total. I had got to 96lbs lost so still a way to go. Aiming for about 112 in total.

rosegoldfever · 11/01/2020 11:18

Iv been using MFP for a week- I'm enjoying it, I like using the barcode and learning about calories. I thought it be a chore but then eventually the novelty may wear off Grin.
Once the barcode on a Lidl tequila read as pork and Turkey stuffing on the FMP app!! GrinShock, other then that the FMP seems to be accurate on items.
Iv lost a few pounds in 5 days so I'm pleased, but I hope the MFP is a sustainable way. I much prefer this way then my previous diets like low carb

Skyejuly · 11/01/2020 11:52

I'm shocked at the calories of some foods I would eat in excess off.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 11/01/2020 12:20

My body begins to notice that it gets less fuel, but only just about...

Couch25k · 11/01/2020 12:25

@Skyejuly I hear you! It's scary and no wonder really that weight creeps on.

I'm finding it really good and makes you think. Lets hope the lbs fall off for ne. I officially weigh in on Monday. I will report back Smile

HoneysuckIejasmine · 11/01/2020 20:57

Oh yes, some things are shocking. I mean, you have a vague nation of something being high fat but things like nuts, avocado, seeds - all the "clean eating whole food" nonsense trends... Hundreds and hundreds of calories.

Skyejuly · 11/01/2020 21:34

I have been totally clueless really. Kids leftovers was another bigger for me. I would just hoover them up!
Have done ok today...finishing on 1203 apparently and have not felt massively restricted really.

Want some bread and chocolate though so going to bed!

PlaymobilPirate · 12/01/2020 08:44

Didn't count on Friday as we had a big night out straight from work so pub tea and a LOT of alcohol calories.

I NEARLY sent dp to KFC yesterday which would probably have meant a week off counting as it would have started a spiral but I raided the fridge instead.

Finished the day 120 cals over but it would have been MUCH worse if kfc had been bought!

I forced myself put to run/walk 5k. I'm slow but so glad I've done it. It was hard getting out for 8am. However I'm in now, about to get into the shower and then I'm set up for the day and I find it helps my mindset as I dont want to undo all that effort.

Weigh in tomorrow Smile have a good day everyone

Beautyoftheirdreams · 13/01/2020 09:33

I'm weighing in on Tuesdays. I think I'm doing OK. I slipped up Friday evening as DP was out and I've got into a really bad habit of binging when he's not here which I really really need to break, especially as fishing season is coming up and he will be away more often.

Skyejuly · 13/01/2020 09:40

I'm down 7lbs in my first week. Expect that was because I was living off carbs and now I am limiting! I am due on my period though and that makes me hungry!

Had special k and natural yoghurt for brekkie. Mondays I will struggle as home with toddler who snacks all day...

rosegoldfever · 13/01/2020 11:23

skyejuly Iv lost 7lbs too in one week! The first week for me are big weight loss jumps and probably a lot of water, but after initial weight loss spike it does become harder for me to lose. Feeling more hungry today for some reason not sure why Confused

WeirdPookah · 13/01/2020 16:06

I really want to get myself together at weekends and I always manage mess up somehow. Swore I would only have chili and potato at Costco and had a bit of a slice of pizza as well. Then Sunday ended up eating 2 apples while cooking, and then 2 chunks of the massive Toblerone left over from Christmas.
I have struggled with weekends forever!

Skyejuly · 13/01/2020 16:46

I can feel myself heading for a PMT binge and I want to cry!

Beautyoftheirdreams · 14/01/2020 08:42

Lost 6lbs, yay. Now to avoid the 'treat day' mentality

Beautyoftheirdreams · 17/01/2020 12:37

How is everyone getting on? I haven't had the best couple of days so trying to do better today, increase my water and make better choices. About to do a big mushroom stir fry for lunch and dinner will be a jacket potato with tuna and low fat mayo with salad x

WeirdPookah · 17/01/2020 13:30

Low fat mayo is pretty yucky IMO try a bit of greek yogurt and spot of mustard for a closer taste to real mayo.

I ended up eating a bunch of left over christmas chocolate, having emotional upset over a stupid immature idiot on playground pickup time and emotional eating got the better of me.

HoneysuckIejasmine · 19/01/2020 08:31

I lost 0.5lb this week. I went out for lunch twice last weekend, one of which was to a pie restaurant (pie, chips, beans, curry sauce) so I guess I'm pleased it's a loss but as I ate less in the week to compensate I'm still a little disappointed. Still, onwards and downwards.

80.75lbs down. 34lbs to go (to healthy BMI but frankly I think that's unattainable and unmaintainable too - I was a size 10 at a stone overweight.)

Couch25k · 22/01/2020 21:01

I've now lost 9lbs since Jan 1st. I have had to up my calories a bit to 1500 but I am ok with this. I have been drinking lots of water and walking daily as well as a few runs thrown in.

Tonight I decided to try my summer clothes on. Was an amazing feeling to slip into them..... but a lot of my Boden skirts are now a tad too big, so by summer they will he unwearable!

Every cloud though I will just have to go shopping Smile

Keep plodding away everyone

gingerperil · 23/01/2020 17:56

Also new to calorie counting. Joined mpf on Sunday. Wondering if anyone who has far more experience could offer any advice??

I linked my Fitbit to MPF. I walk a lot.. circa 15-20,000 steps a day. It keeps adding loads of extra calories for the walking.. was over 900 when i hit 20,000 Confused Seems quite generous though am enjoying the snacking freedom it gives.. do you still lose weight if you eat most of the extra calories?! Have read through and most of you seem to be on 1200 calories and I am doing about 2000!

Couch25k · 23/01/2020 18:45

@ginger I dont eat any of my exercise calories back. For me is a Brucie bonus.

gingerperil · 23/01/2020 18:54

Thanks @couch might see how my first week goes then adjust!

HoneysuckIejasmine · 23/01/2020 20:01

ginger I used to. Back when I was much heavier and on a higher allowance. But I'm over 6 stone lighter now and on a much lower allowance, and I found it just wasn't working any more. Mostly being estimating calories burned is v inexact so much as to be borderline utter bollocks. So now every calorie matters to my weight loss, it's just not worth the risk. When I had more to play with I would do it.

Having said that, my target is 1200 but I've been more like 1400-1500 this week. I breastfeed and have walked or jogged at least 5km every day, so I'm happy to eat an extra 200 a day without it affecting me too much I hope but I definitely don't eat them all back because that most likely takes me out of calorie deficit.

gingerperil · 23/01/2020 20:14

Thanks.. sounds like eating the full exercise allowance isn’t going to work then. Well done on your weight loss and managing to breastfeed and diet!

HoneysuckIejasmine · 23/01/2020 21:39

Everyone's metabolism is different, you may well find you can, or maybe you can for a while but once you've lost some you can't, or you can't at all. Trial and error. Smile
