First time calorie counting - starting tomorrow. Researching now and planning my shopping list.

Anyone else?

I am starting today. I've rebooted MyFitnessPal and aim to lose 1.5lb a week giving me 1330 calories per day. I think it will be porridge for breakfast then I will make lentil soup for lunch and some sort of salad for dinner. Will update later.

Well done Playmobil and good luck Apollo.

How often are you all planning to weigh?

I like to weigh daily or as close to it as I can manage. Apparently I’ve lost 3lbs since Wednesday. Obviously just a natural fluctuation but I’m having it Grin

Back to work today. Will skip breakfast and have a mega bowl of lentil soup at lunch.

Me and dp went for a wedding planning cuppa while DS was at tennis club and ended up eating fish and chips at the coast!

Thought my day was ruined but I'd not had breakfast, I'm still not hungry and still have calories left for a weetabix supper later!

Well done Playmobil!

When are you getting married? I’ve got mine booked too, hence the major weight loss required.

Well done everyone - sounds like you are doing great. I am on day 3 of mfp. It worked brilliant for me before. Have set mine at 1200 like many of you - I really hope I can stick to it. Had a delicious leek and potato soup for lunch today - makes me really appreciate it as it feels like a treat.

@Schoolinfoplease2020 we're booked for July 17th! When's yours?

@Ethiopianflower I'd love a recipe if you can be bothered please?

Morning all. I'm a MFP user too. Since Feb 2018, which is really scary actually, long time! I lost 7 stone but have regained one and a half over summer and winter as I was unwell and just couldn't do it. I'm better now so back on it.

I need to be more careful with tea - I don't log it usually but I've started drinking a lot more so prob am now over 100 cals a day on milk (based on how often I buy the stuff!). I am the only one who uses it (it's dairy free) so in theory I could weigh it each day to work out how much I've had. Bit obsessive though, eh?

7 stone!? Wow!

I put 'cuppa' in as a recipe. Measured my usual glug of milk once (black coffee, 60ml BOB milk and 1 sugar) 45cals.

Means I just click it when I have one.

Oh, and I'm 4lb down this morning Shock

I didn't have a perfect day yesterday but it was much better overall than I have been. I guess I didn't need those two profiteroles but it seemed a waste to bin them! However the scales said I am 0.8lb down after one day so at least it is going in the right direction.

Today i have cleared the fridge and chucked out loads of stuff from the freezer which we will never eat. I have made a list and will go to the supermarket after lunch. I got the Pinch of Nom cookbook at Christmas so I have selected a few recipes from that to try out.

@PlaymobilPirate I’m afraid I completely cheated and bought it all ready made in Lidl - but v delicious 😋

Haha, no worries @Ethiopian

Anyone else 'save' their calories for a big tea? I'm only on 251 so far as I like to eat late on then have a small treat at night (when slim DP is eating his bodyweight in cheese and crackers making me stabby)

Ok, back again, fever is gone. Tommorrow is my first day back at work and I'll start with my miserly 1400 then...

I’m so pleased that I’ve more or less kept this up over the weekend. Had a biggish day yesterday but left over calories on Friday and today balance it back out.

Usually, any time I’m ‘dieting’ I never stick to it at the weekends so just undo all the good work.

Keep going everyone!

I use SparkPeople. It is undeniably American, but there is a great support system and I really like the food and fitness trackers and it's easy to change things around to suit you.

I am still breastfeeding and I notice if I drop to 1400 she wakes up all night, leaving me tireder and hungrier!

So I am doing around 1600-1700 but I am also looking at losing 100lbs still to get to the weight I want to be (again, met my goal weight years ago, then put it back on with 2 difficult pregnancy's and recovery).

Good luck Pookah!

Another lb off for me this morning. Last time I weighed this weight was in August!!

Just weighed myself - I've lost 3lb since I started four days ago, so I'm happy with that Smile.

I'm using MFP - I have given myself a relatively generous allowance of 1450, and have stuck to it every day and been running twice.

OMFG, why have I not done that?! That's genius Playmobil! Will do so this morning.

I'm trying congee for breakfast today. Savoury rice porridge basically. I've added mushrooms, spinach, chopped cooked bacon and seasonings to mine. Comes in at 179 calories per portion so if it's filling then I'm excited! I struggle with breakfast as I can't eat eggs. All the high protein (therefore more satiety per calorie) breakfasts contain egg. I can't eat soya either so even vegan alternatives are often a no go.

41 cals! Oh dear, the amount I drink I think it has been interfering. Oops.

@HoneysuckIejasmine we have black bean burrito for breakfast 4 days a week, with salsa or pureed peppers/jalapeño and a thin slice cheese on small wholemeal wrap. Keeps us going until lunch!

How was the congee Honeysuckle?

More soup for me for lunch! Had a couple of bits of some banana sourdough French toast I made for the kids to try it and even put the bread on my app! What an angel.

‘Bangers and sweet potato mash’ for us tonight. Looks to be coming in at just under 600 per portion but I won’t have a full portions worth of potato so should be less.

It was really nice! Have two more portions and will make some more I think.

Black bean burrito sounds divine too!

It's nice to have something savoury and different for breakfast.

We had my homemade mango korma tonight, with chickpeas in. Instead of rice I normally have cauliflower with it, but had broccoli as the cauliflowers were really mean sized in the shops!

Tomorrow I am getting into my recipe challenge (at least one new recipe a week) and trying a James Wong recipe and using red lentil pasta which is neat as it counts as a vegetable serving!
