Right, this is it (after Christmas and new year...)

What have your experiences been with the Cambridge diet?

Currently around 13 stone ish (haven't weighed myself for ages... Living in denial) would like to get to 9 and a half stone ish. 5ft 4.

Is this going to be the one???

I have used it with success in the past. I've piled weight on these past few months due to comfort eating through the hard times this year so looking to rejoin soon

FthisS · 26/12/2019 18:53

I'm going to do the vegan exante soon as the kids go back. I'm an introvert and an emotional eater, if I have no time alone to recharge I eat everything. I'm actually really excited for this, there are only 3 options in the vegan range but I'm seeing that as a good thing to take away too much choice.

intothedarkwoods · 26/12/2019 18:55

Me, I think. Starting as consultant.

Iprefergin · 26/12/2019 19:09

@intothedarkwoods so you're continuing the plan whilst helping others? I think that's great x

intothedarkwoods · 26/12/2019 19:16

I don’t know about the helping others part!

WutheringFrights · 26/12/2019 19:19

I did it a couple of years ago and dropped 36 lbs in 17 weeks - I felt utterly utterly amazing!

I stopped the diet for work reasons and two years later I am sad to say I have piled it back on.

But! I am going to start Cambridge again on 7th Jan as I know I can do it and this time I hopefully won’t have an excuse to stop!!!

Iprefergin · 26/12/2019 19:24

@intothedarkwoods so you're not a consultant???

@WutheringFrights sounds good, I'll be joining you! Good luck

FannyFifer · 26/12/2019 19:25

Do Exante . Loads cheaper than Cambridge & much tastier I think.
I've lost 7 1/2 stone this year doing it.

Iprefergin · 26/12/2019 19:41

I couldn't get on with exante or slim and save. For me, cambridge products taste a lot better and are therefore worth the extra money.

Well done @FannyFifer you must feel great :)

intothedarkwoods · 26/12/2019 20:36

ip yes but I only really have one customer, me!

dramaqueenforlife · 26/12/2019 22:04

@NamechangeoutedbyMIL I have done this. I lost 6 stones about 3 years ago. I have put on some weight over this year. Just under 2 stone but that was because I was off plan.

One thing I will say is that do not let people put you off. You will get loads of negative comments like this is just another fad diet etc. However it is a weight loss programme like everyone out there. You get out what you put in. If people say you are only going to pile on the weight afterwards when you stop well you can do that on a normal health eating plan.

I’m not going to say it is easy. The first few days are bloody hard. However that buzz you get when you go for your first weigh in.... well there is nothing like it.

Also be aware that every journey and weight loss is different. The bigger you are the more and quicker you lose. I lost a stone in my first week. And it does start to slow down the smaller you get but stick to it as it will happen.

Good Luck.

You can do this.

NamechangeoutedbyMIL · 27/12/2019 12:56

Thanks all...

So what happens when you are at your target weight to avoid all the weight going back on? E.g. I know on SW they have a maintenance plan.

I just feel disgusting right now and ugly...

OP posts:
FthisS · 27/12/2019 13:49

I'm feeling the same, like a disgusting blob. I was a size 10 but my daughter has had to be home schooled since the start of November and it's triggered my binge eating. I need time alone otherwise I eat like a hog and I just haven't had a moment. I'm now a size 16 I've put on 3st in under 2mnths Blush.

FthisS · 27/12/2019 13:50

Forgot to add daughter finally can go back to her old school with her brother in January. I'm ready for this and plan by april to be back where I was.

myohmywhatawonderfulday · 27/12/2019 13:58

I have done it. After my second child I used it to get from 10 stone to 8 stone 3 ish....it did stay off for a good while.

I tried it again four years later when I found myself back up to 10 stone and whilst 7lbs came off I became one of those anomalies (that I really don't think happen to many people) and my body just stalled. I was on sole source, I was exercising and nothing happened for three weeks. And so I mutually agreed with my consultant to end it.

dramaqueenforlife · 27/12/2019 16:46

@NamechangeoutedbyMIL Cambridge has a maintenance plan too. Slowly introducing food back and healthy eating. From what I remember you changes stages of which introduce food.

You can always have food packs on the side for when you do have bad days/go on holiday/Christmas etc so if you do put on you can have a few days detox.

It is hard. Even though losing weight is hard it’s easier than trying to keep it off.

I intend to go back to this in the NY and just smash out my last 3 stone.

I also find success stories very inspiring and motivational.

FthisS · 30/12/2019 19:12

So my exante vegan shakes come tomorrow. I also downloaded the Paul McKenna hypnotic gastric band for free with an audible trial. I'm ready for this, one stone down by the end of January. Luckily I don't ever drink anything other than water so that part will be easy.

ShoeJunkie · 30/12/2019 19:17

Lost two stone in two months just before Christmas, off plan over Christmas but will be back on it to lose the final stone in the new year. Products are good, nice to have a choice of things over the course of the day.
Will then go on to maintenance plan with support from my consultant. My consultant (who is also a good friend of mine) lost 2 stone a couple of years ago and has maintained since then.

FthisS · 30/12/2019 19:21

Wow @ShoeJunkie that is amazing! I don't have a choice of options unfortunately because there are only 3 vegan shakes with exante and one of those flavours is out of stock. But I'm not going to let this stop me. I've started seeing food as a hobby and I need to see it as just fuel.

Iprefergin · 31/12/2019 09:59

Got my 1:1 packs and I'm starting today :)

FthisS · 31/12/2019 10:48

@Iprefergin my pack from exante just arrived with hermes so I'm day 1 too. I can't weigh myself until Friday when I can get to boots but I'm going to take measurements.

Iprefergin · 31/12/2019 14:20

Good luck!
Oops I'm actually starting tomorrow 😂. Havent eaten anything yet today but forgot I had planned a 'last ' meal for this eve

FthisS · 31/12/2019 15:25

My first shake was ok I put it in the vitamix with ice. I'm not hungry just really want hoops on toast Confused

ariadnestar · 31/12/2019 15:37

I messaged a local consultant but I haven't heard back. Just messaged another - fingers crossed! I want to start when I go back to work on Monday so hoping she gets back to me soon. I did Lighter Life before and it was very successful but that was nearly 15 years ago and the weight has finally crept back up to where it was back then. Time to get it sorted!

FthisS · 31/12/2019 15:54

I'm trying to find motivational personal vlcd diaries on youtube to spur me on.

I have so many clothes in size 8-10 seriously have an outfit for every day of the year. I want to be back there by the time I take my son away in April for his 13th.
