Right, this is it (after Christmas and new year...)

What have your experiences been with the Cambridge diet?

Currently around 13 stone ish (haven't weighed myself for ages... Living in denial) would like to get to 9 and a half stone ish. 5ft 4.

Is this going to be the one???

Yep, lots of Instagram accounts for both consultants and dieters.
Off to pick up some more products today so will be back on plan tomorrow for the final stone loss (hopefully!)

FthisS · 02/01/2020 09:58

Day 3 for me, I struggled to sleep last night but I'm hoping it starts to get easier from tomorrow. I'm also doing the hypnotic gastric band from Paul McKenna.

LeopardPrintKnickers · 02/01/2020 13:20

Oh bravo everyone who's taken the plunge and started.

I did Cambridge 18 months ago and lost 2 stones in about 6-7 weeks. It was hardcore and I felt amazing, and I've slowly but surely piled it all on and a little more besides. I'm so, so, so unhappy with how I am right now - it's affecting every single aspect of my life, so it's time to take action again.

Tomorrow I'm meeting a new consultant and then it's go, go, go for the new year.

Good luck all!

FthisS · 02/01/2020 15:10

@LeopardPrintKnickers wow that's the results I really want to see. I want to get to 8st by April when i take my son away for his 13th.
I've had 2 shakes already today I really wanted to space them out more but was starved. I can't wait to go to sleep.

Iprefergin · 02/01/2020 20:42

Well I'm on it :). Been peeing every 5 minutes due to all the water!!
I have 2.5 stone to lose then maybe another half stone as a buffer. My first target is to lose the first 9lb.

ShoeJunkie · 02/01/2020 21:41

All stocked up. Will be on it tomorrow!

dietdogooder · 02/01/2020 23:02

Hi, hoping to join in! I have my first meeting with my consultant tomorrow. Also ordered some scales as I haven't weighed myself in a long time Hmm I imagine I am around 15.5 stone. My ideal weight would be 10/11 stone. I'm planning to start on Monday (have plans this weekend and don't want to set myself up to fail!).
Feeing nervous, excited and determined!!

ShoeJunkie · 03/01/2020 08:14

Good luck @dietdogooder Smile

FthisS · 03/01/2020 09:21

Day 4 still am starving but am determined. What didn't help with my feeling shit yesterday was all the new food released for veganuary (we are a family of lifelong vegans). H and the kids had a feast of new vegan pizzas, greggs, subways etc and I'm there sipping a bloody shake. Never mind it will be worth it to get into my clothes again.

GeorgieTheGorgeousGoat · 04/01/2020 09:15

How are you all doing? I’m looking to rejoin in February (have a weekend away at end of January) after getting to the heaviest vibe ever been. I did Cambridge 4 years ago and lost 3 stone, need to lose about 5 this time. I’m so ashamed.

FthisS · 04/01/2020 09:36

Day 5! Feeling far better today, I'm tweaking it a bit having 3 shakes instead of 4 and adding a spoon of powdered peanut butter to each one. What a difference it makes the shakes so thick when I blend with ice.

GeorgieTheGorgeousGoat · 04/01/2020 09:43

I remember a few tips from when I did it before that I’m going to do again.

As you said, blend with ice as it makes them nicer.

Mix some flavours 50/50 to get a new flavour when you’re bored.

Have first shake as late as possible- I try and make 12pm. It makes the evenings a bit more bearable.

When ketosis kicks in you might not feel like all your shakes but do make sure you have them anyway.

Constipation can affect some people , tackle it quickly if you think it’s becoming a problem!

I’m looking forward to starting now.

FthisS · 04/01/2020 09:49

I'm holding out as long as possible, waiting until after lunch for my first shake. I'm also drinking a chinese diet tea to help with constipation it completely clears you out. I'm looking forward to spring and wearing all my size 10 clothes again.

GeorgieTheGorgeousGoat · 04/01/2020 10:12

Good luck, enjoy your size 10s! I’m very overweight so that’s a goal I can only dream of Blush

Iprefergin · 04/01/2020 11:37

My post disappeared!
Just saying that I've not long had a chocolate orange bar for breakfast and am hating all the water Smile

FthisS · 04/01/2020 13:17

I'm just so used to eating it's my main hobby Blush. I'm powering on I know once the kids go back it will be easier. I'm only going to weigh once a month down boots.

Iprefergin · 04/01/2020 16:57

Totally get that FthisS. I love eating food, love getting treats in and relaxing on the couch with them watching telly

FthisS · 04/01/2020 17:41

I don't (apart from H and our children) have any friends or family so we don't have time away from the children ever. H works very long hours and nights and I guess food has become my friend Confused. I lost 5 stone four years ago and kept it off but I've struggled since August and I've piled it on in such a short amount of time.

sunsetandcocktails · 04/01/2020 20:47

I've just messaged a Cambridge Diet consults near me and hope to have an exploratory conversation soon. I need to take drastic action about my weight but am worried that such an extreme diet may trigger my binges. Does anyone here have any thoughts or advice about this?

Iprefergin · 05/01/2020 13:19

@sunsetandcocktails I understand. I am definitely a binge eater, esp when life gets hard. Being on a diet helps me feels more in control, especially one like cambridge as you can only have the products you have.

Day 4 for me, going well so far

FthisS · 05/01/2020 14:30

I'm a binge eater also an emotional eater. I can put away an awful lot of food. I'm hoping this is going to help with that.

I'm day 6 feeling slightly better not hungry I've had one vegan shake. H has joined me on this he started yesterday and is shattered today.

FleurNancy · 05/01/2020 16:35

I've just messaged my local consultant and arranged a meeting for next week. I've put on a couple of stone in the last 18 months following a diagnosis of a chronic condition and I need to kickstart things to get me back feeling like me again. Most worried about the first step with no actual food. Any tips for a first timer??

FthisS · 05/01/2020 18:58

This is my first time but drink water lots of it. Go to bed early and what's helping me is reading other people's blogs and looking at before/after photos. Day 5 onwards it's far easier Smile

TheMostHappy · 05/01/2020 18:59

I lost three stone in 11 weeks on Cambridge when I did it. I put it all on again pretty quickly though!!
