Weight Watchers - New Thread

FoghornLeghorn · 15/08/2007 10:08

Can't seem to find a recent WW thread so thought I'd start a new one.

I started 30th July at 11stone 8.5 lb. At first weigh in (6th Aug) I had lost 2lb which took me to 11st 6.5lb - at 2nd weigh in (13th) I had lost 3 1/2 lb which has taken me down to 11st 3lb.
Target is 11st before hols (27th Aug) then 10st 6lb when I start again after hols.

How is everyone else doing ?

Let us know how you get on. I used to do Davina dvds but I pulled something in my back doing it and every time I try them now my back twinges. I'd like another exercise dvd but a lot of them are a bit weedy iykwim.

Well done FHLH!

ProfYaffle · 23/08/2007 08:58

And Foxy - sorry

foxybrown · 23/08/2007 10:50

no worries PY! Just saw your profile you are living in Norfolk - we have just started to think about moving there, I might have to pick your brains about it if that's ok!

I am tracking my eating on the WW website, means I get to spend more time on the pc, and not with the children

Hope everyone has a good day today!

ProfYaffle · 23/08/2007 14:05

Pick away, happy to help if I can. fwiw I love living here, took a little while to adjust though!

foxybrown · 24/08/2007 20:29

Its gone very quiet on here! Where's everyone gone?!

Having had a couple of really good days, I've had a foodie day today, but had saved points. Having a lovely glass of wine too. yum!

ProfYaffle · 24/08/2007 20:44

Me too, have had a takeaway tonight (Pad Thai) and will be opening the wine in a bit.

foxybrown · 24/08/2007 20:51

mmm, thats my fav! well, its friday and we deserve it!

ProfYaffle · 24/08/2007 20:59

We're away for four days from tomorrow which I'm a bit nervous about food wise. We're staying in a farmhouse b&b so I imagine there will be huge farmhouse breakfasts to contend with, as well as eating out the whole time. tbh I don't think I'm going to be able to count points, just try to be generally healthy I think.

foxybrown · 24/08/2007 21:04

That sounds nice

Well don't ruin your weekend by worrying about it, will you? you can always make up the points in the next week or two.

Where abouts in Norfolk are you? We are thinking somewhere near the coast - but its not going to happen for about 4 years - it hasn't stopped me checking out houseprices getting over-excited!

ProfYaffle · 24/08/2007 21:15

Oh don't encourage me to be bad! I live in south Norfolk, Norfolk/suffolk border technically speaking. Which part of the coast are you looking at? Are you millionaires and considering north Norfolk? pil live in Gorleston which is slightly more .. um ... low rent.

foxybrown · 24/08/2007 21:23

LOL! I wish, but we do live in a flat in SW London and I couldn't pay the silly prices to move around here. Seems you get much more for your money from the places I saw on the 'net yesterday. One had a drawing room and a 'sewing room'!

Can't stop thinking about crispy bacon and buttered toast now

ProfYaffle · 24/08/2007 21:26

I have a sewing room. It just doubles as the kitchen and the sewing machine lives on top of the fridge . I'm veggie so safe from bacon butty temptation, would be content with lots of thick buttery toast though. [wistful]

foxybrown · 24/08/2007 21:33

have your toast - you are on holiday!

foxybrown · 24/08/2007 21:35

no, don't. am not being helpful, am I?

poached eggs, toast, tomatoes. there, a hearty cooked brekkie for about 6 points!

ProfYaffle · 24/08/2007 22:38

You read my mind actually, I had the very same menu in mind!

Celery · 25/08/2007 07:28

Hello everyone,

I lost another pound! woohoo! This is very exciting, as I only have 2 pounds to lose to reach my goal, and these last few pounds come off SOOOOOOO slowly!

Not sure how it happened, as I had 4 chocolate shortbreads yesterday, but I did try and make up for it with a veggie stirfy in the evening.

I can't tell you how amazing it feels to wear size 12 trousers for the first time in my adult life.

ProfYaffle · 25/08/2007 08:18

Yay, congratulations! You're doing so well to keep going even though it's slow, it's so easy to think 'sod it' about the last few pound.

Celery · 25/08/2007 08:52

Well, I think because my goal is to get to be nine stone something, that's spurring me on - breaking the 10 stone barrier, so to speak.

laloop · 25/08/2007 11:30

Hi everyone, I haven't been online for the last few days but have been sticking to the diet. Going out to a party toight so I hope I can keep on the straight and narrow. Don't mind if I go over by just a few points as I can exercise them away, just hoping I don't get too tempted by the food and wine. We're away first thing in the morning so won't get back online until Tuesday

Hope you all have a great Bank Holiday weekend!

foxybrown · 25/08/2007 14:16

Well done Celery! That is great. You are so nearly there.

I cried at the meeting when i got to goal last time!

ProfYaffle · 29/08/2007 11:12

Hello all. Am back from my extremelly diet busting weekend I started off being good, asked for poached egg on toast with tomatoes for my first breakfast, it arrived with 4, count 'em, 4 eggs!! So it was downhill from there I'm afraid. Still, back on track today. I weighed myself before I went and had lost another 2lbs which makes a whole stone but goodness knows how much of that I've put back on. I'm going to be very good this week and not weigh myself til my weighing in day of Tuesday so fingers crossed.

How's everyone else doing??

fortunecookie · 29/08/2007 21:20

Been back on WW for 10 days now & having the same old trouble - can't calculate points on what I eat. Living in Europe where things like fromage blanc 0% (shudder) & ham for breakfast are common. Does anyone have a spare UK points tracker they could sell/give me?

fortunecookie · 29/08/2007 21:22

Can send you a cheque, incl postage! Please?

potoroo · 29/08/2007 21:25

Fortunecookie - I think somewhere I have the actual formula written down to calculate points. I'll try to find it for you.

scienceteacher · 01/09/2007 09:59

Here's the formula:

Points = Calories/12 + Sat Fat/5
