Weight Watchers - New Thread

Can't seem to find a recent WW thread so thought I'd start a new one.

I started 30th July at 11stone 8.5 lb. At first weigh in (6th Aug) I had lost 2lb which took me to 11st 6.5lb - at 2nd weigh in (13th) I had lost 3 1/2 lb which has taken me down to 11st 3lb.
Target is 11st before hols (27th Aug) then 10st 6lb when I start again after hols.

How is everyone else doing ?

Thanks Lou! Will have a look at argos, and think about the kitchen scales too . I'm not going to meetings yet, not until the school holidays are over (there is NO WAY I am dragging my little horrors, er, I mean darlings to a meeting!)

Well done on the weight loss so far. If it makes you feel better I've had a disaster of a week and have probably put back on the 2lbs I lost in my first week!

It took me ages to lose the weight before, and I did alot of yo-yo-ing, but as long as the loss exceeds the gain you are doing OK I think! Start the new week afresh!

lomondgal · 19/08/2007 21:42

Since last weeks result I have been much stricter with myself, I'm determined to get a good result this week. I have to! my sister is getting married on 3rd Sept and i'm a bridesmaid. Best of it is my dress was ordered when I was six months pregnant (bump is now nearly 9 wks old) so we had to guess the size. Now i'm not going to have time for a fitting, just hope it fits.

I did WW a couple of years ago (after 1st dd) and got to goal. So I know it works.

Forget your bad week foxybrown, we all have them. I don't blame you not wanting to start the meetings yet, i'm lucky as my partner watches the girls otherwise it would be a nightmare.

snowwonder · 19/08/2007 21:48

foxy--- are the flat breads crackers? or are they with the bread? they sound lovely

Celery · 20/08/2007 07:16

Plain old ryvita as a snack for me, I'm afraid, but M&S do a lovely extra lowfat soft cheese with cracked pepper. I think it's 0.5 or 1 point for quarter of a tub - can't remember. Otherwise I have them with a teaspoon of half fat lurpak (0.5) and marmite.

There are some nice low fat snacks around. Ryvita mini's and mini bagels from snack a jack ( I think ) - they're 2 points a bag.

Morning all - welcome to everyone new
I have had a pretty good weekend overall - think I went over my points on saturday as we had DN's bday party to attend and I just cannot resist finger food - I didn't go too mad but also didn't count any points which is a big boo boo and I also helped DH with a big bar of Cadbury Crunchie saturday night. In my defence, I have been under my points all week and I only had 15 points yesterday to try and pull it back round again.

Fingers crossed - it's weigh in tonight - got 3lb to lose before I go on hols on Monday

here are the flatbreads - yum!

Morning! I'm feeling revitalised and motivated (amazing what a full 6 hour sleep can do!).

I joined WW online yesterday with their e-source monthly pass. Gives you access to the internet site and unlimited meetings for £17.95 a month. Seemed like a bit of a bargain to me.

Good luck Foghorn! Hope you've made it!

laloop · 20/08/2007 11:37

Hi everyone
Stuck to my points yesterday, still need to exercise off the extras from Saturday though. Going to Wednesday's weigh-in instead this week, so have a couple of days to sort it out. Had a sneaky weigh on the scales at home this morning and think I've lost 1lb or so. Foxybrown, I got the WW scales recently, they are very accurate and have BMI/H20 levels etc.- I would definitely recommend them

I have switched to the Core plan this week to give it a try. So no sweet things or alcohol to be consumed chez laloop this week, going to use some of the 21pts allowance to "buy" the occasional slice of wholegrain bread and butter. Will see how it goes..

FoghornLeghorn · 21/08/2007 08:12

Weighed in last night and I lost another 2lb - that's 7.5lb in 3 weeks Got 1 more lb to go before Monday when I go on hols, we fly dead early in the morning so I'm going to go to Tesco's on Sunday and weigh in on the BMI machine (checked it before and it's spot on with my WW weight)

fantastic! well done foghorn!

I'm doing ok, but 31 points is no hardship! looking forward to going back to the gym next week.

Lost 2 lbs the first week, but tiredness got the better of me last week. am back on track now

ProfYaffle · 21/08/2007 11:20

I was on 31 points until a week ago, have just started weaning dd2 so decided to go down to 5 extra points and am now on 26 points. I'm dreading 21 points!

I'm pleased to announce I'm currently wearing size 14 jeans after wearing size 18 about 5 weeks ago! My weight loss seems to have slowed right down now though but i guess that's what happens at the beginning isn't it? Also our bathroom scales aren't very accurate, they say I haven't lost any this week but i feel thinner and there's the jeans thing so who knows. I'm not really worried about it as i really struggled to lose weight while bfing dd1 so I'm expecting the next stone to be really hard to shift until I stop bfing dd2. I'm really more pleased with being in control of my eating than anything else at the moment.

FoghornLeghorn · 21/08/2007 12:03

Definitely Profyaffle. Although I do want to lose another 9lb I tend to go along with how I feel and how my clothes fit.
Trouble is now some of my clothes are literally starting to hang but can't afford a new wardrobe

OP posts:
ProfYaffle · 21/08/2007 12:21

The inbetween stage is frustrating isn't it? 'Fortunately' for me I have a stockpile of clothes in a variety of sizes according to whether they were bought pre dd1, post dd1/pre dd2 or post dd2!

laloop · 21/08/2007 12:41

Well done foghorn on the 2lbs loss

ProfYaffle, dropping 2 dress sizes in 2 weeks is fantastic!!!

I feel I need to get some more exercise to help blast the weight off. I'm normally a regular gym-goer and runner but haven't been there since beginning of school hols. It's impossible to go during the day as dd and ds1 are too old for the gym creche now and I'm too tired in the evenings to get my act together to go then.

I have been having good and bad days this week on the WW plan. I'm going for a weigh-in tomorrow night and the leader is quite strict and bossy, exactly what I need at the moment .

laloop · 21/08/2007 12:43

Sorry meant 2 dress sizes in 5 weeks, if you had the secret to doing that in just 2 weeks then it would be worth millions

scienceteacher · 21/08/2007 15:08

Well done to all the losers.

FoghornLeghorn · 21/08/2007 15:15

I like being a loser

OP posts:
ProfYaffle · 21/08/2007 15:55

Lol Laloop, 2 weeks, I wish! The size 14s are a tad snug so still a way to go.

foxybrown · 22/08/2007 19:10

yay! 2 lbs off - even if it is the same 2 lbs as the week before last

laloop · 22/08/2007 21:20

Well done foxybrown. I weighed in tonight but stayed the same, know exactly where I went wrong - didn't track everything and had wine Friday and Saturday night, oh dear. Plan this week is to write down everything I eat as soon as I can - remembering at all times that if a food hasn't made it onto the tracker, it doesn't mean it won't find it's way onto my hips . And no more than a couple of glasses of wine allowed this week.

How's everyone else getting on?

Celery · 23/08/2007 07:07

I'm staying the same at the moment, but I've managed to maintain the fast weight loss I had when I had tonsillitis a couple of weeks ago, so shouldn't complain!

Planning on starting exercising again today too, so hopefully that should kick start things.

ProfYaffle · 23/08/2007 08:21

Mm that's a good point I need to exercise too but it's hard with a baby with no real nap schedule atm and a toddler. Once they're in bed I just collapse!

FoghornLeghorn · 23/08/2007 08:25

I went to the gym on a pretty regular basis after having DD2 in November (well 3 times a week for a couple of months ) and although I noticed a difference in my body shape and fit of clothes, I didn't actually lose a great deal of weight, but I wasn't watching what I was eating.
Now i've shifted this half a stone I've ordered these - means I've said £50 a month on the gym and I can fit it in around DD2'snaps as DD1 will be starting pre-school in Sept.
It's meant to be hard but I've got to do something about my saggy tummy. I'm only 23 and it looks horrendous

FoghornLeghorn · 23/08/2007 08:29

Well done foxy btw
