Hi everyone!

I’m starting a VLCD (Slim and Save) on 1st Jan and wondering is anyone starting too? Or Cambridge, Exabte etc and maybe we could keep each other motivated?

Welcome beetles, congratulations on your weight loss so far!

I’ve had an extra pack today, couldn’t hack it following my ridiculously early lunch and had dinner at 4.30 and then a fourth pack at 7.30! Haven’t had enough water either. Still, on 800 calories today I shouldn’t have thought I’ll put any weight back on!

I only have 7lbs left to lose if I can just keep going.... I’m so frustrated with my frustratingly slow weight loss!

Pitapotamus · 10/01/2019 20:16

Urgh correction, I actually have 9lbs left to lose!

Eliza9917 · 10/01/2019 20:32

I was 8oz down this morning, 14st 9 exactly, but this afternoon I really noticed I've changed shape a bit and am smaller. It must be water/bloat but I'll take it.

I've been swimming every evening this week. Swimming makes me HUNGRY so I've been having a small meal so might drop it out to get the weight moving quicker.

Pitapotamus · 10/01/2019 20:46

Well done on swimming everyday Eliza. I managed a tennis lesson yesterday and a brisk walk today but generally I struggle to fit in on a daily basis because I’m either working or looking after the kids.

Littlemissdaredevil · 10/01/2019 21:45

Am feeling a bit blah as lost 6lbs last week but only 1lb this week so far

MissElaineNeus · 11/01/2019 05:48

Hello Beetle!

I'm on day 5 so the same as a few of you. I've not had the wonderful feeling of not being hungry at all kick in yet, hope that happens today.

So jealous of only 9lb to go! They are the hardest 9 though, and I think knowing you're near the end, and generally feeling good about yourself, makes it much harder to stick to it! You can do it though!

I've got a stone and a half to lose and really want to lose them in 6 weeks, which is my first weigh in. I'm feeling a little less bloated around the waist, but it's probably just wishful thinking.

ClashCityRocker · 11/01/2019 07:21

Is it your second week littlemiss?

I've heard that's notorious for much lower losses.

ClashCityRocker · 11/01/2019 07:37

And also people keep telling me about the whoosh theory. Might that apply here?

Eliza9917 · 11/01/2019 09:04

Thanks pitapotamus.

14st 8lb 8oz this morning, but I'm sooooooo hungry at the moment :(

BishopBrennansArse · 11/01/2019 14:15

Hi @Kittensgalore yes day 1 was fine, halfway through day 2 now, still ok, thanks for asking Smile

lexie555 · 11/01/2019 14:48

so i couldn't help myself from weighing myself this morning lol on day 5 and 4lbs down which takes me just under 12st so officialy in the 11s😊😊going to get husband to hide the scales now tho lol hadn't planned on weighing in until the 6 week mark.

ClashCityRocker · 11/01/2019 15:53

Well done lexi that's a great loss!

I weighed today as decided Fridays will be weigh in days as I don't have scales at home and its easier to pop into the gym to get weighed on the way to work on Fridays...

9lb down from Sunday. I'm shocked to be honest. Not expecting much next week and know a lot will be water weight but still.

Eliza9917 · 11/01/2019 18:52

Well done!

Kittensgalore · 11/01/2019 19:10

Yes well done Clash and Lexie that is fab!

I've just used the ribbon ii had measured around my waist last weekend and I've definitely shrunk slightly!

Very tempted to raid the fridge tonight so am hiding upstairs whilst kids and DP watch a film. They had garlic bread earlier and I said to Dp 'I can't touch that!' Talking about the baguette as a vegetarian might a piece of raw meat 😂

I could have shoved the whole thing in my mouth very easily.

Think I might weigh tomorrow to try and keep me on track for the weekend. Need willpower to power on through it.

How's everyone else doing?

Kittensgalore · 11/01/2019 19:12

Eliza, am still sticking with the squats, my inner thighs are on fire! Any tips for gentle stomach exercises? I have had 2 c -sections so zero core strength. It's just a massive jelly belly and worried it's going to look even worse if I lose weight quickly. Should I try planks maybe?

rainbowgrimm · 11/01/2019 19:15

Well done Lexie & Clash.
I could literally cry right now. DH has brought a Chinese home, I've been craving sweet &sour soup for the last two days. I'm really upset that he's not been supportive when I'm finding today hard. I've told him to fuck off to the dining room to eat it.

Littlemissdaredevil · 11/01/2019 19:47

Got my first official weight tomorrow. Stated my period today. Feeling nervous. I really want a good result as have been very good.

Meralia · 11/01/2019 19:54

I couldn’t get on with slim and save, I just don’t like the powder shakes, so I have started Cambridge, I’m on sole source and having 3 bars a day as my meal replacements. (You can only have 1 bar a day on s and s, and I think I fare better with solid food).

Meralia · 11/01/2019 19:55

Oh no rainbow! I thought sitting with my kids while they tucked in at Wetherspoons when I just had a water was bad. Chinese is my weakness and I would have caved. Well done on sticking to it though!

rainbowgrimm · 11/01/2019 20:11

Thank you meralia, I know I'm completely over reacting but I'm really pissed off. He is trying to be supportive but not doing it very well. Keeps suggesting I go for a run - I damaged me knee 3weeks ago and am barely getting through the day without painkillers. I'm more annoyed as we've just had a conversation about weekend plans which mainly involve me being supportive so he can do all the things he wants to do and he can't even not bring Chinese soup into the house for me. He finds this stuff so easy (runs marathons etc) that he just doesn't get it.

makingmiracles · 11/01/2019 21:06

@bishop keep going, it gets easier Smile
Well done on your loss @lexi
@kittens you did well to resist the garlic bread
@rainbow oh that’s so mean of your dh, you did amazing to resist that, I’m not too fussed on takeaway generally , but Chinese.... don’t blame you banishing him to the dining room! It’s so frustrating when you have a dp who doesn’t need to worry about weight at all isn’t it. My dp isn’t sporty but does a manual job and walks To and from work, he’s a svelte 10st and can sit and eat ridiculous amounts of food Andy not put on a pound, for a yr we actively tried to get him to gain weight, all we managed was 7lbs and eventually he went back to his starting weight anyway, bastard!

Pitapotamus · 11/01/2019 21:26

My Dh is incredibly supportive but I still find it irritating that he breezes through life eating whatever he likes when I have put on so much weight and developed an under active thyroid as a result of producing our 3 kids!! I used to be slim and eat whatever I wanted just like him but since the kids that’s all changed for me. He’s eaten more calories in m&ms in the last 10 minutes than I’ve eaten in food for the whole day! Dammit!

Well done on dropping into the 11 stone bracket Lexie, it’s so psychologically satisfying when you drop into a lower bracket!

ClashCityRocker · 11/01/2019 22:09

Oh man, and Chinese food always smells so tempting....

Yeah Dh keeps suggesting running. I'm the world's worst runner, my feet hurt straight away even if I'm wearing proper running shoes and I just get no joy whatsoever with it... Im actually fairly active, I bike four miles to work and back, walk regularly, do yoga etc... But no, running is apparently the cure to all my woes.

And to be honest, I didn't put on the weight through lack of activity, it is definitely diet based! Going for a jog would be like trying to put out a fire with a pipette at this stage.

Good luck going in to the weekend guys! I'm planning on two products plus steak with salad for Saturday, and the same on Sunday with chicken kebabs (on a skewer, not from the chippie!) and salad.

Then back to three products a day on Monday.

BishopBrennansArse · 11/01/2019 22:15

I hid in my room when DH and kids had dinner 😳

ClashCityRocker · 11/01/2019 22:18

Happily, when left to his own devices Dh likes to have his tea just before bed, so I make sure I'm all tucked up beforehand.

Our goodnight conversation the other night went like this:

DH: Why are you sniffing my face?
Me: You smell of KFC. It's so nice! I can almost taste it.
Dh:...🙄 🙄 🙄
