HI All, and welld one on keeping going with teh exercising
Done something everyday but on Sunday.
Today I did the Pump and the cardio box workout (it does irritate the hell out off me, and I finally realsied that it's teh fact that they forget to do the other side in the cardio box, lol...!
Yesterday I only did everybody get ripped basic workout, and on Monday I did Nells Maximum Impact...
had a look on the local leisure club website and they also do a few varieties of the body attack,e tc...ones...
sadly non at times that would be easily and regularly doable for me
Anyways...can't think of anyhting else to bore you all with, lol!

fedda · 19/09/2007 20:40

You sound fantastic. I wish I could do it all but what can I say, I'm sooooo lazy! All i can do and this is my best is to have 5 minutes light excersise after shower in the morning and 20 minutes disco dansing in the evening. I walk slightly quicker these days as well and I try to go upstairs and downstairs more often.

3andnomore · 19/09/2007 20:51

Fedda...you will get fitter if you persist...
However, why don't you do some exercise with a p[roper warm up BEFORE your shower..it's so lovely to have a shower after breaking out in a sweat
Maybe you could try out Harvey's Fighting Fit Fighting Fat workout, it has a warm up, and then 3 sections which all can be done seperately, and the first one is the easiest and then you work yourself up, and then there is a lil cool down section.

fedda · 19/09/2007 20:56

Thank you, 3andnomore. It's a very good idea. Unfortunately so far i haven't found any video/DVD I had will power to follow. I quicly get tired and give up. The reason I do my excersise after the shower is because I feel so warm and I like the feeling of relaxed body for the starting of the excersise. I never do more then 5 minutes as I quicly get tired. To be honest, I look at a clock every 2 minutes, before it was even every 1 minute! you get the picture.

3andnomore · 19/09/2007 21:06

Have you thought of starting Yoga or Tai Chi? whilst it can be a demanding workout, it's not fast paced...and it's very good for emotional and physical wellbeing...Pilates, I believe also falls into that category

The Fighting Fit, Fighting Fat one is really easy, and the first section, plus warm up and cool down can even be finished by my seriously unfit and asthmatic friend...! It's Harvey from the Fat club programme...

Also, ditch the clock, lol, and just go through it....sometimes you ahve to go against your inner hold back...and push yourself just that little bit extra, if you know what I mean!
Also, you mention dancing...maybe starting dance classes or getting one of the dance execises dvd'd would be somehting for you.
Another one that is pretty good but easy and not to tiring is Jade's Shape challenge...

3andnomore · 19/09/2007 21:09

OH this might be something for you...breathing, can make a real difference to you, and your performance....deep breating in the more "unusual" way, really...because we tend to breath into our chest and pull our tummy in....but breathing into your belly, so expanding your belly whilest breathing in and pulling it in when breathing out, is a much better way to get oxygen into your system

fedda · 19/09/2007 22:06

3andnomore, I like the idea of breathing. I'll try it. Thank you. Unfortunately not only I'm lazy, my body is not and never ever have been flexible, my muscles are total crap. All I can realistically do is dance and if I dich the clock, I believe in 5 minutes I'll be finishing. Yesterday I wanted to extend by only 2 minutes but I simply couldn't. 20 minutes is my real maximum at the moment. I'll have a look at dance videos but i'm not really good at picking the things of anything really so I'll have to stop, rewind, try again, it will be probably boring and slow. I fell I just could dance to music and at least be moderately active for 20 minutes. I'm sure I'm wrong though, not pucshing myself enough.

3andnomore · 19/09/2007 23:03

oh feeda..know what you mean, I love to dance and have good rythm, but ask me to pick up a routine, and well, I have had it, lol!
which is why I love the DVD@s I do regularly...Nell, Davina, etc..as they don't need routine picking up skills, in general!

but honestly, just push yourslef a little bit...maybe jsut by half a minute at the time, if that is psychologically better for you....but honestly once you push yourself you will get into I want to do this mode

speedymama · 20/09/2007 08:42

Hi ladies

Just popping in to say that I am disappearing for a while due to personal reasons. I have family stuff to deal with and don't really have the emotional bandwith for MN.

Keep up the exercising and hopefully will rejoin you all soon.

fedda · 20/09/2007 10:05

Hi, speedymama. i hope you'll be back soon. MN is brilliant for support. Good luck!

fedda · 20/09/2007 10:07

3andnomor, thank you so much for your kind advice. I'll try to follow. I was rather lazy yesterday though and I only danced for 10 minutes.

3andnomore · 20/09/2007 17:52

Speedy, I am sorry to hear that you are having a difficult time, and hope that things improve quickly. And hopefully we will see you soon again, you will be missed

Fedda, 10 mins is still good exercise
I was rather lazy this morning...I could not drag myself out of bed at all (coming down with a bit of a cold and just felt rubbish)....so did nothing...

fedda · 20/09/2007 21:12

3andnomore, join the club. My cold started on Saturday and it goes stronger and stronger with bad nights and loosing my voice + I've just started my period. I'm realy not sure I'm up to much tonight. I've borrowed some dance videos and I'll let you know if I watch them tonight, with a bit of luck they might inspire me a bit.

Sassafrass · 20/09/2007 21:42

Just had to share, I started going to the gym a month ago and when I joined they took lots of measurements and then redid them today. I've lost 7 cm on each thigh! 3 cm around the waist and 2 cm around the hips. I'm so pleased with myself now. I've been going 3 times a week and I've really enjoyed myself.

fedda · 20/09/2007 22:48

That's brilliant news. Congratulations! i wish i had your will power.

Sassafrass · 20/09/2007 23:11

I joined a kinetika gym which really helped because they give you 5 sessions with an instructor. They set up a program and then do sessions where they go through it with you, so it's like having a personal trainer encouraging you =) That really helped me feel confident and know that I was doing things properly.

fedda · 20/09/2007 23:15

I know what you are saying but for various reasons gym is not an option for me and I can only do some excersise at home (when noone is watching that is).

3andnomore · 21/09/2007 10:42

well done sassa...that is excellent

Fedda...oh sorry to hear you are also suffering...
well, my cold hasn't really gotten any worse or anything...but this morning, again, I could not get myself motivated to get up ....I think a lot is to do with it being dark...I hate getting when it's dark...

fedda · 21/09/2007 16:03

3andnomore, I had to sleep downstairs on a sofa as my cough was so dreadful in a night time that it was unbearable for my DH. Well, he didn't say anything but I know how he felt so i ended up sleeping downstairs. Still, I have a little voice left. i had 5 minutes excersise in the morning and I was eating as sensibly as i could.

Lorns · 23/09/2007 18:29

Hi to everyone!

Speedy - thinking and praying for you....

Well done sassa - please you are enjoying working out and seeing the results!

I've just been away on a fitness weekend with some people who I teach. There were 12 of us. Must say we did exercise our butts off, but also drank far too much... Didn't have loads of time to eat loads but am making up for it since I've been home and that's only er,...3 hours! .

Just want to add that this is such a nice thread - you're all great! Looked into another site recently and was amazed at the bitchness!

Also to those who exercise from home - I think it takes more motivation to keep on with this than doing a class - although there is always the lack of motivation to get out of the house and to a class (especially in the colder weather)!

fedda · 23/09/2007 21:56

Hi, Lorns. Nice to hear from you.

laloop · 25/09/2007 09:43

Hi everyone
Looks like everyone's keeping busy. Haven't done any exercise this week so far due to AF. Was cycling at the weekend with the dcs and a bit of walking. Will hopefully get back to the gym before the end of the week.

Speedy, thinking of you, sorry to hear that you're having a difficult time at the moment. Hope everything's sorted soon, will miss you.

Lorns · 26/09/2007 13:27

Hi there everyone o.k.?

fedda · 26/09/2007 17:17

Hi, I bough a skipping rope and I'm struggling with it. I can do only 1 skip! it keeps getting on my nurves and I just miss the chance each time. Of course, it's a;; the rope's fault.

3andnomore · 26/09/2007 17:23

lol fedda...where do you skip? I tried it out indoors...not that great...to aware about where the rope is going...but outside not to bad
Lorns...motivation...finding it difficult right now...and it's defiantely because the mornings are so dark and uninspiring, sigh...
