Anyone looking to lose 100lbs plus... - Part 5

NoTractorsAtTheTable · 07/06/2018 20:04

Hello, welcome to the fifth instalment (wow!) of the ‘Anyone looking to lose 100lbs plus …’ thread Smile

If you want to read them (but by no means feel obliged!), the previous threads are here: Part 1, Part 2, Part 3 and Part 4

We’re a very friendly, supportive group, and all at different stages, but we’re all seeing some real changes in ourselves and our attitudes to food. It’s a long old road, but it helps to chat along the way

Collectively, we’ve lost an incredible….........Star 1024lbs Star since the start of the first thread in Dec 16, which is amazing! Grin Grin

We tend to weigh in on Fridays or Saturdays, but feel free to join in at any time, with whatever weight loss method you think works best for you. Some of us have lost more than others, but we're all in this together, so if you're losing, gaining or staying the same, it's nice to have some inspiration to keep going.

We’re always welcoming to newcomers, but as with the previous thread(s), I’ll add one caveat - we’re all here because we are trying to lose a LOT of weight. If you’re looking to lose the last half stone, or even two or three stone, this might not be the thread for you. Good luck with your goals, but you may find more support with in threads with people who have similar goals to you.

Start 278

Last week 199
Week 22 Exercise Week 18 Calorie counting
This week 198

Week loss -1
Total loss -79

Goal 136lb
Left to lose 67lb
Start to lose 142lb

Quick weigh in, 1 pound down, very happy especially as I didn’t get any exercise in this week and due to circumstances had some maintenance calorie days.

3 pounds away from dipping into the next stone bracket which would be fantastic before holiday. If not though I’m not going to feel too bad as any loss at this time of the year is definitely a victory.

Body wise the weight is very much being carried around my middle and now fitting into size 18 tops and bottoms in Yours, Asda and Peacocks. It feels like a miracle getting out of the 20’s and actually feeling more body confident.

honeysucklejasmine · 28/07/2018 12:29

Well done Fezzes, good job!

fezzesarecool · 28/07/2018 12:58

honeysucklejasmineThank you, this is one crazy journey but at least we’re in it together Smile

fezzesarecool · 28/07/2018 13:02

Good news on the uniform front, seems like there’s fuck ups all over and we haven’t received it yet and it’s anyone guess if the right sizes will be sent, so that buys some more time Grin

NoTractorsAtTheTable · 28/07/2018 13:15

The mysterious 5lbs I gained last week has indeed disappeared, so I'm back to where I was. About what I was expecting really. Kicking on now for next week.

Loss this week: 0lb
To lose: 124 lbs
Lost to date: 47.5 lbs
Left to lose: 76.5 lbs

moonlight1705 · 28/07/2018 13:43

Phew, another small one but still half a pound off.

Loss: 1/2 lb
Total: 18 1/2lb

Is it raining with you all? I'm practically dancing in it and have done a whole morning of garden work. Smile

BreakingSad · 28/07/2018 13:46

No rain here, but cloudy and windy.

I'm down 2 lbs, which was what I'd gain last week. I'm going for maintenance this week as I'm away for a short break next week and we'll be eating out for dinner. But it will be a fairly sporty break with los of activities, even paddle boarding which I can see already will have my DC laughing their heads off at me, attempting to get on and try stand up on one Grin

Lost this week 2
Lost to date 63
Left to lose 50

honeysucklejasmine · 28/07/2018 15:30

Well done Tractors. I hate mystery weight gains. They've made me properly miserable all week. Bastards.

Moonlight well done love. How's pregnancy going? I've got some bits I'd like to do I garden too. Going to do it right now whilst not raining!

Fezzes crossing fingers for you on uniform front!

honeysucklejasmine · 28/07/2018 16:17

Sorry Breaking I literally rushed outside then realised I'd read more replies than I'd name checked! Huge well done to you too! Have fun on your holiday, sounds fab!

honeysucklejasmine · 29/07/2018 09:08

Odd one this week. I am officially 0.75lbs lighter than last week. However, I gained massively last weekend and have been battling to lose it again so I'm really pleased it's a loss. MFP tells me I am 51% through my goal (to lose 6 stone with them, having already lost 18lbs before then).

Loss this week: 0.75lbs
Loss to date: 62lbs
To lose: 40lbs

I've 40lbs to go to target. Hoping to reach it by Christmas. 😁

I'm now below my lowest known adult weight.

ChestyNut · 29/07/2018 10:01

Loss this week- 1lb 12oz
Total- 61lb 8oz
To lose- 38lb 8oz

Moonlight Raining and cooler here, I will never complain about being cold ever again. I don’t cope well with being over
heated Grin

Breaking have a lovely time away.

On the clothes front, I’m still wearing leggings and smocks dresses from before I started, I am starting to look ridiculous tho....must buy some new clothes!
Going to get friend to take in last years new holiday clothes hopefully as only worn them once Grin

Not doing as well “mentally” using old disordered habits to distract from stress, am seeing dietician weekly again, we had reduced reviews. Onwards and downwards tho, eh?

Have a good week everyone Flowers

notanurse2017 · 29/07/2018 11:32

It is cool and raining here, I feel the most comfortable physically since before my opinion.

Well done to all your losers. I haven't done a weigh in this weekend but will be back on it next.

Chesty, I still mentally find myself wanting to go back to old unhealthy ways. A train was cancelled a few weeks ago leaving an hour's wait for me and I actually found myself in Smith's looking at sharing pouches of chocolate to "help" me deal with it. I didn't buy the chocolate but my brain is obviously still hard wired re food and using it to cope with things.

notanurse2017 · 29/07/2018 11:36

"opinion" should be "operation"!!

Breaking, enjoy your break!

Moonlight - enjoy the rain!

Honeysuckle - congratulations on your new lowest weight!

NoTractors - good riddance to the mysterious 5 lbs!

AnotherOtter · 29/07/2018 11:58

Loss this week: 1.6lbs
Total loss: 95.6lbs
To go: 5.4lbs (but think I will have to lower my target as waist measurement still too high)

Much, much better week for me. Ate well, walked every day and ran three times. Wasn't obsessional - my old psychologist had me deliberately bending small rules so I wasn't too rigid, e.g. going slightly over calories some days, not logging the odd mint. Sounds ridiculous but it works for me. Had a long chat with my community psychiatric nurse who pointed out that due to the cyclical nature of my illness (I have bipolar disorder), I will have to accept setbacks as inevitable and will have to perfect la remontada (the comeback). I feel I have made a decent attempt at that this week after a previous omnishambles month.

Interesting talk about sizes at different weights. I was a size 22 on bottom and 24/26 on top at 17-18st so we are all obviously very different!

How are you doing, Tractors? I hope things have settled for you Thanks

Agree with you FATE, this hellish heat has been so much more bearable at a lower weight. I'm shocked at how well I coped. Roll on autumn though.

Have a great time on holiday, Post. Great that pre-op went so smoothly.

Well done with the C25K, honey. I did a lot of walking first before attempting the running version and think it helped a lot. It's an amazing programme.

Enjoy your holiday, Breaking. The paddle boarding sounds fun.

Chesty, sorry to hear that the disordered eating is rearing again Thanks I had two weeks of binging while on holiday then a week okay then another week of it and it is fucking grim. The thing that helped me most was to talk it out with myself and with the professionals. Sometimes you just have to endure and keep plugging away slowly. There are no easy answers. Try and be kind to yourself. People don't use disordered behaviours out of badness but out of pain and difficulty coping. At least, that is my take on it.

Good news that you are recovering well, notanurse.

Great losses and NSVs this week, well done folk. But even more kudos to those who are hanging in there despite no positive feedback from the scales as that is harder I think.

ChestyNut · 29/07/2018 12:35

anotherotter me too on the clothes size front. I do hate tight clothes though so could maybe really fit into a smaller size.

How do you make yourself break the obsessional things? I can’t decide wether to not sweat the stuff that isn’t actually too detrimental or to try and stop because they’re not “normal”?

notanurse glad your feeling more comfortable. I’m loving the cool weather!
It’s so hard to break the bad coping mechanisms isn’t it.

notanurse2017 · 29/07/2018 13:41

AnotherOtter - congratulations on being so close to losing 100 lbs. You must be so proud of all you have achieved.

AnotherOtter · 29/07/2018 14:46

Thanks, notanurse Smile

Chesty, a big part of it for me is giving myself permission to relax or change my rules or way of doing things. At the start it felt more like the psychologist giving me permission as I was extremely rigid! I talk to myself a lot and will literally say out loud things like "I can do that if I want" or "I have decided not to do that". A lot of talking to myself like a startled horse really Grin It's definitely hard to find the balance between reducing disordered behaviours and being flexible with real life situations. I don't know really, just try to learn from each fuck up I suppose. Try to be painfully honest with yourself and have some faith that you will make progress. Very slow progress still counts. Anyway, hope things improve for you soon Thanks

honeysucklejasmine · 29/07/2018 21:19

Just did a Davina work out. Omg. Hard work. Pelvic floor not up to jumping either!

FATEdestiny · 30/07/2018 08:30

Week 31 Weigh Day

Start Weight: 17st 8.5
Current Weight: 11st 2.5
Weekly Loss: -2.5lb

Total loss: 6st 6
Still to lose to get your BMI 25 - 1st 1.5lb

I am nearly in my last stone to lose, it is starting to feel real.

NoTractorsAtTheTable · 30/07/2018 19:06

Wowee FATE! So close!

Feeling positive here - everything is a bit of a slog at the moment, and turns out my coffee chat was just that, totally hypothetical even though I was given some very specific details Hmm, but that's not going to change any time soon, so I may as well keep on at my weight loss!

KOKO!

strawberrypig · 30/07/2018 20:11

Fate and Otter, wow! You are both a whisker away from target, what fabulous news. Are you the first graduates of the thread?

I had a bad week, not so much in weight loss but head space. I lost 2 and a half pounds, had a row with DH and promptly put a pound on. I didn't comfort eat or change a thing, I really think I can lose when I am positive.

DH and I have made it up, I now feeling good about the lb and a half I actually lost and I'm now losing again.

honeysucklejasmine · 30/07/2018 22:01

Ok, big losers, I need help. I'm finding the aerobics quite hard - I need a sports bra, but I feel like I also need one for my flabby, loose skinned thighs. What should I do? Tight leggings?

fezzesarecool · 30/07/2018 22:40

Maybe just wear tight leggings/cycling type shorts?

On a side note, did you mean loose as in excess? Just wondering for anyone with excess skin when did they start to notice it?

Stripeybum · 31/07/2018 00:17

Wow I can't believe the losses on here and how close Fate and otter are. And you Fezzes 🙏🏻

I had my first (this time 🙄) NSV today. Flew with EasyJet and the arm rests didn't push up. Can't believe this is a victory for me. But it is and I'm chuffed to bits 😁

Love and good losing vibes to everyone on the thread ❤️

honeysucklejasmine · 31/07/2018 07:52

Fezzes yeah, excess. At the moment it's still got a small layer of fat under it but when I'm standing up my inner thighs are starting to look wrinkly. My arms, which I was worried about, are fine so far. Honestly I don't generally flash my inner thighs in public often, so I'm not too bothered, but they are wobbly!

Lovely nsv stripey!
