Can I start a new thread? Hope you don't mind.
Just had a really bad weight gain at group tonight and need a fresh start. Thought a fresh new thread would help.
After a 6lb weight loss last weeek have just had a bad weigh in with a gain of 3 1/2lb. .
So tomorrow is a new day, start of a new week and I am going to work hard at it!!!
Who wants to join me for a good week ahead?

Summer is on it's way and we are all going to look good!

The Total Greek Light, 150g pot is 1.5 syns. Is that the one you have?

ledodgy · 19/05/2007 20:18

Nemo I count syns weekly you have 105 syns a week I never count them daily.

Nemo2007 · 19/05/2007 20:19

how do you get 105??

Sparkler1 · 19/05/2007 20:21

Slimming World don't suggest carrying syns over to another day as such but use the term "Flexible Syns" instead. I have cut and paste this from the slimming world site: -

Q: What are flexible Syns?

A: There's plenty of evidence that being too rigid means you're more likely to give up and put your weight back on and that allowing yourself to be a little more flexible is the key to long term success. If 10 Syns a day is where you need to be on a regular basis, but sometimes it's just too tight for comfort, it's far better to allow yourself extra Syns every now and again without the punishment of compensating the next day. Never again will you be able to accuse yourself of 'blowing it' just because you needed a few more Syns on the odd day or two.

LifelineOnline members can read more about Flexible Syns in their My Journey section

You can have 10-15 syns a day 15 x 7 is 105 so it's 70-105 syns a week. Its much easier to start with 105 and dleete accordingly rather than limit to 10-15 a day I use most of my syns at the weekend.

ledodgy · 19/05/2007 20:22

My consulatant says you can do it that way as long as you stick to the 105 a week. Flexible syns tend to be when you go over your weekly syn limit.

ledodgy · 19/05/2007 20:33

What I mean is with flexible syns you can go over 15 syns on one day but still have 10-15 every day thereafter which means you go over your weekly syns so there's no guarantee you'll lose weight. Counting 105 syns a week and sticking to it whether on a daily or weekly basis will mean you'll lose weight it is not the same as flexible syns.

Nemo2007 · 19/05/2007 20:35

Right so in a week I have 70 syns then as am trying to stick to 10 a day to try and loose weight quicker/cover any hidden syns.

ledodgy · 19/05/2007 20:35

Yep that's fine.

Nemo2007 · 19/05/2007 21:56

TMMJ I would go for the superspeed foods but dont be too harsh on yourself. I have cut syns because I have sooo much weight to loose so want to try and get used to less treats asap and to be honest I am managing on the 10syns.

Nemo2007 · 20/05/2007 11:41

Oh and happy birthday!!

Well dont tell anyone but I weighed in at 21.2stone which is actually only 1 stone more than I was when I had DS so for having the girls aswell its not too bad..she says..pmsl. Ideally would like to loose at least 8 stone as was just looking at the pictures of YG and she says she is 13stone and a size 14.

2mum · 20/05/2007 14:29

Im finding it fine, not brilliant like the leader more or less described it like. but ive only been doing it since friday and i had a sneaky fish supper after my first weigh in as i wasnt starting it to the next morning!

lechuga · 20/05/2007 15:03

Hi, mind if I join you? Have been doing Slimming World on my own now for quite some time (financial reasons). Still have over a stone to lose. Anyway, a friend told me yday that you can now have 2 Alpen light or Ryvita goodness bars as a HeB. Surely not?? x

Hello lechuga! Not sure about the cereal bars. Think they are deliberately bit vague as they have their own hi-fi cereal bars and obviously want to sell those. A woman at my class had compared loads of different light cereal bars and had a print out their calories fat etc but the consultant would not say if you could have one as a HE!!!

I so need to get back on track. My meals are fine but I am going over my syns every day. Had a night out last night so yet again a million syns!
