Can I start a new thread? Hope you don't mind.
Just had a really bad weight gain at group tonight and need a fresh start. Thought a fresh new thread would help.
After a 6lb weight loss last weeek have just had a bad weigh in with a gain of 3 1/2lb. .
So tomorrow is a new day, start of a new week and I am going to work hard at it!!!
Who wants to join me for a good week ahead?

Summer is on it's way and we are all going to look good!

Luxury Cottage Pie
FREE ON GREEN
2lb potatoes
6tbsp very low fat natural yoghurt
salt and pepper
1 red onion
2 carrots
2 garlic cloves
2 sticks celery
Fry Light
350g Quorn Mince
400g can chopped tomatoes (I might put 2 tins in next time!)
1tbsp chicken bovril
1tsp artificial sweetner
2tsp dried oregano
1 egg

Preheat oven 200 deg c/400F/gas 6
peel potatoes, cut into chunks, boil til tender, drain mash until smooth. Stir in yoghurt, season well and set aside.
Peel and finely chop red onion and carrots, peel and crush garlic, trim and finely chop celery. Spray pan with fry light and cook onion, garlic celery and carrots for 4-5 mins. Add Quorn cook for further 4-mins. Add tomatoes, bovril, sweetner and oregano. Stir and mix well and bring to boil.
Transfer into four individual pie dishes or one large one (I did large one) and top with potato mixture. Swirl fork over top to rough up surface. Beat egg and brush over top of potato. Bake 25-30 mins until golden and bubbling.

Thanks Sparkler

How has everyone gotten on this week?

I missed my weigh-in as dh was off today so we went out for the day & had dinner out & we weren't home in time for my class!

Sparkler1 · 14/03/2007 20:49

nappy addict - I buy the sunflower oil so can't tell you about olive oil. hopefully someone can help soon.
Have been pretty ok since Monday. Weekend was a disaster. Had done really well today until dd's didn't eat all their pizza at teatime and I ended up picking at a few bits
Weigh in tomorrow so shall see if it notices.

Oh god just read it properly I have to give a before and after photo in and sign a press release! I haven't got an after photo yet cos im not at target and dont want to see myself now and the only before photo i've got is when ds was just born and oh god he looks angelic but I look like a buffoon.

BethAndHerBrood · 15/03/2007 12:22

Well, I did it!! Lost 1.5lbs, got my 3.5 stone award!!

Next stop, 4 stones [gulp]

BethAndHerBrood · 15/03/2007 12:23

Congrats, ledodgy, I hadn't read thread before posting!

I'm sure you don't look like a buffoon!!!

Joby1970 · 15/03/2007 13:09

Ledodgy: Go for it - its great fun if a bit nerve racking. I was put thro by my group back in 1994 (I had lost nearly 5 stone). It was fun - I only got to the regionals tho.... you have to have a good story to win. Plus I had my pic in the Sun Newspaper .. now that was embarrassing.. however they did give me a makeover.

me23 · 15/03/2007 17:26

weighed myself on monday stayed the stay at 9st 8 at least i didn't put on i guess. hoping to lose at least 1lb this week!

BethAndHerBrood · 15/03/2007 18:50

God, I'd love to be 9st 8.

Aint never gonna happen.

fireflyfairy2 · 15/03/2007 19:10

Well done BAHB

rachfran · 15/03/2007 19:19

Well done ledodgy.
I have been thinking about joining Sw for a while and this thread has covinced me.
Will join next week so hopefully I will posting on here in the future with reports of lots of weight loss!

ledodgy · 16/03/2007 08:29

Well done Beth! I would have posted yesterday but for some reason my keyboard wouldn't work so I had a frustrating day of only being able to look at MN but couldn't type! Hi Rachfran Welcome you'll love it.
Oh yeah I found out the reason why pureed fruit is high in syns it's not do do with the satisfaction value as we thought but it's because when you drink a smoothie for example your body doesn't have to work as hard to digest it compared to if you'd ate the fruits whole. My consultant said that SW have said they can't even give a total syn value out because it's so high.

Sparkler1 · 16/03/2007 16:10

3lbs off for me last night. Back on track now - well will be after tonight.

loobysmum · 17/03/2007 09:05

Hi everyone, not been on for a few days. Well done Ledodgy - that's fantastic! We might see you in the magazine then? Will you still talk to us when you're famous?? . Seriously tho', well done.

Nappyaddict, I use Frylight olive oil. The ingredients/nutritional details are:-

Extra virgin olive oil (58%)
Water
Emulsifier
Soya Lecithin E473
Alcohol (hey ... didn't know THAT!!)
Antioxidant
Vitamin E

Bumph per spray (0.2ml):

Calories - 0.98
Carbohydrate - negligible
Total fat - 0.1g
of which:
saturates - trace
fibre - nil
sodium negligible

Am I an anorak or what??

Anyway, must go. dp is watching cbeebies with dd and he's getting way too into it. I think he's found his intellectual level ....
