Oh and I was also going to post my confession, a rather full plate of fish and chips with mushy peas for dinner. I usually show some self control and leave the batter but for some reason this evening I was in 'shove it in' mode and just couldn't resist! Just about success as it did all fit on one plate, but not something I should be repeating too often! Is it bad that I just enjoyed that moment of eating without thinking? Not my finest moment...
(It was yummy though GrinWink)

And the same to you Posie Smile
I'm sure if it fits on your plate its allowed Smile

pawpatrol123 · 22/06/2017 22:48

I will go for it. I mean surely it's only a few hours between meals so I probably won't collapse in the street or anything WinkIt's quite scary how you become used to snacking when you just don't need it. It's worrying how scary the thought of going without is. Definitely proves to me that I need to sort my eating out.

MyCatSydney · 22/06/2017 23:31

Hi everyone! 👋🏼

Day 3 and 4 check in,

I cannot believe I have completed four days in total compliance. Today it has dawned on me that I might actually be able to do this and I am actually doing it. I now find it an exciting prospect to think that each morning upon waking I will be ever so slightly smaller than the day before!

I have an allowed one S event that I have permitted right from the beginning. One event so that the weekend is not one big free for all. I know that to do it any other way for me with my personality, would derail me and going back to N days would be really hard for me. This weekend my S event is apple crumble and custard after our roast chicken dinner. I am having this, only this and I am really looking forward to it.

Hope that everyone is doing well.

I go to sleep tonight with my halo earned!

😇

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 22/06/2017 23:40

Posie thanks for the encouragement, it wasn't that bad during the day, I think it will be a bit harder as days go on, plus I work in a nursery and Ramadan will be coming to an end soon and most of my lovely colleagues will be bringing in some very tempting food! I will just have to resist.
I bet your dinner was lush, glad you really enjoyed it Smile
Pawpatrol ,hi, I thought it was going to be tough, and I'm the kind of person who needs to eat or will faint, just remember to carry water with you Smile

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 22/06/2017 23:43

Well done MyCat, I hope I'm as good as that, kèp up the great work!

PosiePootlePerkins · 23/06/2017 06:34

Good luck pawpatrol. When I first started NoS I was shocked to discover how many times I went to put food in my mouth! I'd be preparing a meal and find my hand halfway to my mouth with something, then have to stop myself! Even on the many diets I have followed over the years you'd be allowed snacks of some description, that feeling of hunger is not one I had ever really encountered before. And lets face it, its not exactly real true hunger! You do get used to it. One day at a time.
Sydney that sounds like an excellent plan. It took me some time to realise that I needed to only have sweets and seconds at mealtimes on S days, the snacking was out of control and causing issues for me. I like the idea of planning in an S event, I think that could work really well.
Curvy good luck resisting the food. Its hard when others try and press food on you. I just smile and say 'no thanks I'm not hungry right now' (calmly on the outside while usually struggling on the inside!)
Have a great weekend when we get there everyone. Smile

Hope you all have a happy weekend. Smile

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 23/06/2017 21:06

Hi all.
Today hasn't been too bad
Breakfast: cheerios
Lunch: small fish and chips with salad and a few bits of melon
Dinner: chops, mash and veg with gravy.
I do feel quite hungry still, but that may be because on Fridays I bring work home with me and usually sit on the laptop with coffee and biscuits, I guess it is all about breaking those habits.
Hope everyone has a great weekend.

beela · 23/06/2017 21:44

Evening all Smile

Well it was going ok but I lost my way a little bit this afternoon - made some biscuits with ds and ended up eating two of them. Also a friday evening square of chocolate. But in the grand scheme of things I suppose two biscuits and a square of chocolate aren't the worst thing in the world. Other than that I had:
Breakfast - toast & honey
Lunch - smoked salmon & avocado on sourdough
Tea - cod with pancetta and lentils
And I did a ripped in 30 this morning too. So I'll give myself 9/10.

Have a lovely weekend everyone Smile

twofloorsup · 23/06/2017 22:03

Evening all.
I've had an odd day food wise.
Split lunch so I could fit in a swim before the kids got home but then was absolutely starving so wouldn't have had room on my plate for the banana I'd already eaten.
Then for dinner I've been trying to make polenta chips for days now (kept getting mush). Finally cracked it tonight but over cooked them so they were disappointing.
Left half the plate and got myself a massive bowl of yogurt nuts and dried fruit instead. Don't think today was at all in the spirit of No S , so counting it as another fail.
I really need to get organised this weekend as I am still leaving it so late to eat that I just grab anything with no thought to nutrition or satisfaction.
Hope you're all having a good evening Smile

twofloorsup · 24/06/2017 16:16

Hi all hope you're having a fab weekend Smile
I'm on a mission today I woke up at 3:30 and couldn't get back to sleep so I went for a walk at 5:00 and then cracked on sorting my son's bedroom. Given myself a medal for that (probably should have been condemned) and the fact that I'm sticking to No S today come hell or high water. Will probably be in bed by 5pm as I'm shattered Grin

beela · 25/06/2017 10:27

Well done two. Sounds very productive Smile

We had a house full of children yesterday so by the time they had gone and ours were in bed we were tired out, and ended up with fish & chips and wine! Feeling podgy this morning. But I have done a shred, and I'm going to try and eat healthily today.

twofloorsup · 25/06/2017 10:59

Yes I was quite pleased with my efforts. Today not so much I've had brunch and am lazing on the sofa in my pyjamas despite having mountains to do !
I managed No S yesterday and will do today but I am still not getting No Standing. I need to do this as its only while I'm plating up. We are talking 30 seconds wait !

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 25/06/2017 11:41

2lbs up after my two S days, grr! There was lots of alcohol and picky eating. Oh well. There will be much alcohol next time too (away for weekend) so I'll just have to accept it!

twofloorsup · 25/06/2017 11:50

Too maybe try not to weigh so often ?
You'll see more of a pattern that way.
I rarely ever weigh myself so when I do it's as a result of an overall month , rather than 2 "bad" days.

Venella · 25/06/2017 15:13

I don't like weighing myself at all. Finally decided to do it, only to find out that the batteries have run out on my scales!
Friday and yesterday weren't too bad, especially since I felt v emotionally tired/stressed, and DH was away most of the day yesterday. Both usually massive triggers for me but somehow I didn't derail as usual. I suppose the warmer weather helps.
Hope everyone's doing alright, enjoy the rest of the weekend!

twofloorsup · 25/06/2017 17:18

Haha Venella I think your scales were trying to tell you something Grin

bowbear · 25/06/2017 17:32

Can totally relate to your struggle with the no standing rule Two, I can't understand why I cannot seem to control myself and actually make it to the table with my meal. It's like a reflex once I know I'm about to eat!!
Likewise with your comment about mindless eating Posie, before I even realise it sometimes I find myself eating some scrap I've managed to get my mits on.
I had to run today, not something I find myself doing very often these days and was apalled at how unfit I am. Something else to address.
I hope everyone is having a good weekend, as always, I'm loving the positive posts and taking inspiration from everyone's progress :)

Venella · 25/06/2017 18:12

twofloors my thoughts exactly!

Oh and I haven't mentioned, thank you so much for "no standing", absolutely brilliant!

I seem to do this more often than I realise, almost always 'nicking' or picking when I transfer food from a bigger to a smaller dish, chopping, 'prepping', whatever.
Nobody makes me do this, I do it, so logically, I can stop doing it!

Venella · 25/06/2017 19:18

(In theory, anyway!) Smile

PosiePootlePerkins · 25/06/2017 20:00

Hi everyone. Its been a nice family weekend here, hope you've all had a good one. I managed to do a very gentle 30 minute exercise video for beginners, can't believe how weak I feel. My muscles are currently made of jelly. However, I have made a start and am aiming to follow it three times a week for a while, with the hopes of gradually building up my strength! What a wuss. Ah well, gotta start somewhere.

I feel I have eaten rather well this weekend, as always Monday is the start of a new NoS week.

OP posts:
twofloorsup · 25/06/2017 21:45

It's frustrating isn't it bowbear !
Well done Posie that's brilliant Smile
I'm finally at a place where exercise has become my me time and I look forward to it. I do have a "do I have to" moment if I go straight from work but always enjoy it !
I am facing up to the fact that I eat far too much on each plate. I'm not ready to cut down though so am just being aware for now.

PosiePootlePerkins · 25/06/2017 22:33

Thanks two great that you are at the stage of enjoying your exercise, maybe I'll get there one day! I am the same with my plates, which is why I am maintaining at the moment, that and the lack of exercise. Its strange though because its not stressing me out, I sort of feel I'll make some changes when I am ready, and I don't feel bad about it.
