Shiny new thread!SmileSmileSmile
Support, advice and general chat for those who are following the NoS diet. We're all about good habits and moderation in our eating!

Two sorry about your headache. This heat is horrible, I have zero energy to do anything. Well done on saying goodbye to My Fitness Pal, smart move.
Sydney yay well done! Definitely one day at a time, you will gradually prove to yourself how doable this is.
Beela excellent willpower well done you. Did you give in to the cider? Sounds lovely on such a hot evening I must admit!
Mummybear our mantra here is mark it and move on. This is the most forgiving diet, if you mess up one day you just get right back on it tomorrow. I have had a fair few blowouts myself and ended up feeling blurgh, I think its part of the learning process to learn that NoS feels better than overeating.
Curvy NoS is No snacks sweets or seconds, except for days beginning with S ie weekends and special days like birthdays. There is a fairly comprehensive website which will explain most of the ins and outs, it is actually not a traditional diet at all but all about learning to eat with moderation and gain a healthy relationship with food. Any questions just ask! Good luck.

That's why I'm following it Posie as I really want to change the way I feel about food. Especially for my children's sake. I don't want them to have this relationship with food.

I just went for a run. Only managed 3k mixture of running and walking but I'm pleased I went.

Hope you're all having good days.

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 20/06/2017 20:54

Posie thanks. So I guess that I will have to start eating breakfast! I have a complex relationship with food and eat how I feel and when I want. I have tried many diets and none have worked, I will have a look at the site later.
Like Two I used my fitness pal on my old phone, but haven't bothered downloading it again, it really confused me.

Also I have a step counter on my phone and I thought I was going pretty well, with an average of 10, 000 steps a day. Then about a week ago I got a cheap smart watch and my phone has been counting too many steps, so feeling a bit down-hearted about that, but onwards and upwards I suppose

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 20/06/2017 20:58

Two, hope you're feeling better now.

Well done to Sydney, Beela and everyone else!

Day 2 down! Lunch involved a bit of virtual plating as it was a buffet at work - I filled one paper plate and then allowed myself to eat bits of fruit in a more ad-hoc way, but I nobly resisted the biscuits all day! And I did Day 1 of Ripped in 30 when I got home, hurray! Hoping to make my arms and chest look less chunky by the 7th of July (going to a wedding then in sleeveless dress).

twofloorsup · 20/06/2017 21:10

Thanks everyone I'm feeling knocked for six so hoping for a little storm to ease the pressure.
Well done everyone sounds all very positive here at the moment but then it is probably too hot to eat anyway Grin

beela · 20/06/2017 22:05

mummybear I'm impressed you went for a run in this weather! And cheddar yay another Ripped in 30 fan! I've reached the end so I think I need to now go back to the start with heavier weights.
Two I agree. A little thunderstorm overnight would be lovely Grin

MyCatSydney · 20/06/2017 23:44

Hiya, 👋
Day 2 Check In

Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner only, so I have earned today's halo!

I love the stability of the routine this provides. I can't believe I am actually doing this! Not liking the hot weather because at my size it is really unpleasant to be this overheated by all the blubber I am carrying. I got a really light cotton dress from Asda for £18 which is a napkin hem but basically a sleeveless oversized marquee. It is so cool and such a relief I am washing it each night and wearing it every day in this heat like a uniform. I hope that my weight loss will be slightly quicker at the start because I am bigger to start with and what I am not now eating is so huge a difference that it cannot but slash my energy intake drastically.

Hope everyone else is doing well too. Wishing everyone a good day tomorrow.

Halo
TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 21/06/2017 12:20

Beela, I've owned the DVD for ages and only ever done level 1 once before yesterday! Blush So calling me a fan is stretching it. Planning to keep going this time, though.

Go, Sydney! It sounds like you ought to lose weight doing this, if it's a significant reduction in food. FX for you!

DH is on his way home with lunch makings. I'm starving - he better hurry up!

beela · 21/06/2017 18:24

cheddar have you got any of her other dvds?

Wednesday check in - I accidentally ate 2 sweets at work (colleagues back from holiday) Blush and now I'm eating peanut butter on toast for my tea! BUT in other news I weighed in and I am another lb down since last week. .off swimming later to cool down.

twofloorsup · 21/06/2017 20:57

Evening all Smile
I was too hot to cook tonight so I've had some cracker crisps, grapes and a big fat smoothie. I am absolutely stuffed !!
No exercise today so hoping to get a swim in after work tomorrow.
Hope you're all ok and well done Beela.

bowbear · 21/06/2017 21:07

Hi all, I hope everyone's well and coping with the heat. I'm wilting but at least it curbs the appetite!

It's been a mad few weeks as my DD has been doing her GCSEs but all finished now so hopefully life will return to normal and I'll get a grip again.
I haven't braved the scales for a week or so now but am planning to face the music in the morning. I'm not feeling terribly confident. It looks like lots more people have joined which is fab, more inspiration and motivation can only be good. It's a great plan and I did really well for the first couple of months but have lost my way a little of late. I'm trying to come up with strategies to regain my focus because it felt so good when I was on track.
Happy Wednesday everbody xx

twofloorsup · 21/06/2017 21:19

Hi bowbear just jump straight back on Smile
There's a bit of checking in going on I think we are all trying to stay afloat or starting from scratch as newbies.

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 21/06/2017 21:36

Evening all, I had a look at the no so diet website and it all looks easy enough, putting it into practice will be the difficult bit!
Ok so I'm on board, if that is ok?
Do we weigh in/ give stats etc?

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 21/06/2017 21:40

No s*

beela · 21/06/2017 22:08

Hi curvy, of course that's ok! Welcome.
No obligation to weigh in or give stats, but do if it works for you Grin or just come and chat.
I am boring everyone with daily check ins this week to keep me on track.

twofloorsup · 21/06/2017 22:09

Hi curvy I just chat nonsense a lot as I don't often weigh myself.
It keeps me focused and saves me boring my friends Smile

Mummybear1984 · 21/06/2017 22:14

I've had another bad evening. Just don't know what's wrong with me. I just binge eat when I don't want it and it's making me feel sick 😡 Why do I do it? I go on holiday in 9 weeks and want to have lost some weight by then. But In my heart I know I will be fatter then I am now. 😭 Just so fed up.

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 21/06/2017 22:17

Thank you both, I think it would help me to put it on here. I would like to lose 2-3 stone. I know it won't happen quickly, but I'm ok with that, as in the past I have been on restricted diets, lost weight quickly, but them gained it back again plus more!
I will start properly tomorrow.

twofloorsup · 21/06/2017 22:19

Mummybear are you eating enough at mealtime ?
If you don't nourish yourself properly the default setting is a binge I'm afraid. (Voice of experience).

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 21/06/2017 22:24

Mummybear, remember tomorrow is a new day Smile

Mummybear1984 · 21/06/2017 22:44

Thank you for the replies. Yes I think I'm eating enough. I don't even think I'm eating out of hunger- more out of desire or addiction!
Tomorrow I will start afresh.

Fingers crossed for a better day as I feel like shit now:

Well done to those of you who've had good days

beela · 21/06/2017 22:44

Mummybear at least you are working out where your weaknesses lie.

If you know that evenings are danger times then you can address that. For example maybe you need a bigger or later evening meal, or something to distract yourself in the evening. It's all progress.

And as curvy says, tomorrow is a new day.

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 21/06/2017 22:58

Beela, I've done the Shred a lot but only made it to the end of level 3 once. Haven't tried any others. Might be on a forced pause for the next few days - twisted my knee at trampoline and hoping it passes. It can't be too bad - I was able to run to the car through the rain afterwards, but it's stiffened up now. Yay for your pound off!

Mummybear, is your dinner too small/not nutritious enough, perhaps? Maybe go for a really big plate tomorrow to try to beat the evening hungries?

Curvy, welcome! I'm hoping to lose a stone eventually - I've lost one stone so far since January on various diets (have pretty much tried every diet going in the last 6 months) but wound up binging an awful lot. I don't seem able to commit to low-calorie non-stop. I did 5:2 but I stopped losing weight because I ate so much on normal days. Blush I'm 5'2" and 10 stone 7.75. A healthy weight for my height is 9 stone 11 or lower, so if I could shed a stone it would put me just under that. Ideally I'd lose more! I have issues with sciatica (effing SPD in 3 pregnancies) so the less weight on my skeleton the better.

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 21/06/2017 22:58

Sorry, cross post!

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 21/06/2017 23:04

Would making a massive cup of decaf tea/coffee after dinner help, Mummybear? Or some other hot drink? I tend to have dinner, put kids to bed, collapse on sofa, start feeling peckish/thirsty and get up to make tea after a bit. Maybe it's as simple as not drinking enough in this hot weather?
