I had a massive first day fail yesterday after my DH offered to pick up a Chinese on his way home from work. This never happens and I couldn't resist. But today is a new day and I am starting with the best of intentions!

PosiePootlePerkins · 01/04/2017 09:46

Give you can have Chinese if you can resist seconds! We have takeaway now and then and I just make sure I take what I want and put it all on one plate. Today is an S day so no limits anyway, enjoy! Back to NoS on Monday Smile

Oh I'm so confused. I accidentally skipped lunch yesterday so had a bowl of cereal at 4 to see me through to a proper meal at 8. I think that's ok because it was still only 3 meals. Then today I went out for brunch with some friends, so had a yoghurt to keep me going then a big brunch at 11. I wonder if that will get me to teatime?? Won't worry too much as it's an s-day.

Also I'm excited because I gave up alcohol for March, and today it's April! Wine here I come.

twofloorsup · 01/04/2017 15:32

Beela I'm sure you'll be ok.
Enjoy your WineSmile

Hello everyone! It's a fab diet, with fab support, good luck Smile

twofloorsup · 02/04/2017 10:33

Morning all. Yesterday I sent my sister a photo of me to see if she liked a top I was buying and she said she thought I'd lost weight. I have just weighed myself and unless the new flat has a magic floor I'm about a stone lighter than I was in the new year !
As weight loss wasn't my primary reason for doing No S I'm pretty chuffed with that Grin
Hope you're all enjoying your weekend.

Feeling positive today and thought I'd share my ramblings.....I've been so busy and under lots of pressure lately and am so pleased that my focus has shifted from calming myself with lots of food to just dealing with the actual issue. I've been doing no s for nearly 4 months and the big thing for me, aside from wanting to lose weight was being so mentally tired of ideas, thoughts, plans that I have made about food and how I can control it, lose weight etc etc. Yesterday I was busy for 15 hours with physical work that was stressful too and I was with visitors and quite anxious at the same time. I kept to 3 meals and didn't care, I solved my hunger and got on with it, no obsessing. There would have been a time I would have sneaked a chocolate bar and ate it so no one saw. Now I'm still stressed, I'm still overweight, but I'm not obsessing about food and feel in control. It's amazing how good that can feel 😊

Riversleep · 03/04/2017 10:35

That's brilliant ariston Id imagine that's the key to losing weight long term- no stress or guilt about food.
I'm starting today. I've had 2 crumpets with cheese and a coffee for breakfast, I'm taking the kids to the park so will have a picnic and will have steak for dinner. I'm thinking of taking a big bottle of water in case I feel like snacking, so I can drink water instead. I feel I should have had a bigger breakfast but we'll see, trial and error!

AristonAndOn · 03/04/2017 11:30

Good idea with the water. I find between 3 and 4 difficult and often have lots of tea then!

PosiePootlePerkins · 03/04/2017 12:25

Well done everyone who has had weight loss success and non weight loss success! Ariston I completely agree about the calmness around food, its such a relief to have that exhausting mental debate about food taken away. That is one of the biggest benefits of NoS for me.
I have maintained for a couple of weeks now, but am fine with that, I know it will come off slowly in time. Hope you all have a good NoS week!

Today was supposed to be my first proper No S day. I resisted the easter eggs sitting on my desk (at one point I picked one up to eat it, thought about the No S thing and put it down again thinking I could wait till Saturday). Then I got home and messed it up by having a sandwich as a snack. I know I'll be hungry again soon, but I can't save it now, can I.

Riversleep · 03/04/2017 17:23

It was my first day too, and I had some chutney on my sandwich, which I didnt think was sweet at all, but everyone else said tasted like mince pie filling! Shows how used to sweetness my tastebuds are!

Rivier I think we need to be easy on ourselves on the first day, just have a healthy dinner and carry on. Dont stuff your face with post bed biscuits like I usually do just because of one slip up. Tomorrow is another day Smile

Riversleep · 03/04/2017 17:25

Can I just ask, does fruit count as sugar, or is it just processed sugar?

AristonAndOn · 03/04/2017 18:29

No fruit doesn't count, well I don't anyway!

twofloorsup · 03/04/2017 19:05

Ariston I'm also at that point with food now.
I can almost take it or leave it now.
I also eat fruit as it's as natural as it gets and I think that's a good thing.

AristonAndOn · 03/04/2017 19:33

That's good two. After that post I spent all
day really hungry and counting down the hours till food!!! I actually think it was actually proper hunger though as I did so much manual work yesterday. I just adjusted by eating my meals 30 minutes longer, it took willpower not to snack. I can always cope with physical hunger though, it's my pesky mental cravings I struggle with but I'm so pleased I haven't had those for 1 month.

AristonAndOn · 03/04/2017 19:33

Earlier not longer

twofloorsup · 03/04/2017 21:01

That's brilliant progress Ariston.

Hello everyone, good to hear how you're all getting on Smile Happy to find a 4 pound loss this week when I stepped on the scales this morning. So that's half a stone in 3 weeks and I don't even feel like I'm dieting! More importantly I'm starting to understand what you all mean about not obsessing about food. ..I'm definitely getting there and feel i'd be very happy to live like this indefinitely Smile

twofloorsup · 04/04/2017 06:45

Wow well done Please that's fab Smile

Riversleep · 04/04/2017 08:34

Well done everyone! I managed a whole day without snacking and I didn't even succumb to my usual after dinner biscuits with my tea! The water I'd definitely helping. I have a big bottle with lemon that I was sipping. Made me feel much more energetic too! I'm meeting some friends for lunch today that I haven't seen for a year, so if I have to, I might have a small ice cream and take it as a S day but if it doesn't come up, I won't bother!
