Louise Parker Method - Lean for Lifers Support Thread

PushingElephantsUpStairs · 31/12/2016 13:04

Anyone following the Louise Parker Method?

I am restarting the transform phase again from next week and could really do with some support to get me through the 6 weeks!

I managed three weeks in November but gave up due to Christmas drinking and eating. I feel more motivated this time and felt great when I followed it properly. I love the food too but found it too easy to slip into bad habits.

Please share your stories (good and bad!) and hopefully we can support each other through the journey.

I'm going to throw your advice back at you... simply step back into the circle MrsD and have no regrets!

You're due on. Its been more than a week. This is not a strict diet but learning a new way of eating, and if every month your body needs crisps and wine then thats what you need. Beating yourself up about it won't help. Ok?

As for me I haven't been doing the exercises but I have been doing more yoga. Underneath this fat is a toned and sculpted body - I just have to find it!!!

MrsDesperado · 12/01/2017 23:01

Thank you tomato - I needed that. I'm in bed and will wake up tomorrow firmly back inside the inner circle.

Underneath this fat is a toned and sculpted body Yes! I feel the same way about going to pilates! We will find it!

Night everyone Smile

walruswhiskers · 13/01/2017 12:38

Hello all, hope you're doing ok and staying in the inner circle (80% of the time at least!) I've lost 4lbs this week and am nearly back to pre Xmas weight of 11st1. Aiming to lose another 5 on top before half term.

Smoked mackerel mousse and crudités for lunch. Yum!

tomatoplantproject · 13/01/2017 17:41

I'm still in the circle... because of course a club sandwich and chips for lunch are in the circle, right? Grin

tomatoplantproject · 13/01/2017 17:42

Oh and well done walrus - thats brilliant! Those 5lb are going to just melt off at the rate you are going!

walruswhiskers · 13/01/2017 18:52

I've decided that Friday night
Is the time I can step out. So it hasn't been a pretty picture... But better to have an evening a week off and keep going than go hell for leather for a fortnight and then give up completely I reckon!

MrsDesperado · 15/01/2017 10:59

Well done walrus!

How's everyone's weekend going?

I've struggled to stay in the circle since derailing on Thursday, mainly because (with the exception of Thursday, which was intentional self-sabotage) I've had a lunch and two dinners at friends houses, which have been quite boozy and the food was carb-heavy. Apart from that, I've been eating well and yesterday I managed a 30 minute hiit workout. I hope it's enough to see a change on the scales tomorrow Hmm

tomatoplantproject · 15/01/2017 15:50

So I've been able to stick to things until I eat out. Yesterday we went out for a pub lunch and whilst I tried to order stuff in line with LP it was just a bit too hard when all of this deliciousness appeared - thats 3 meals this week now. I'm slightly dreading weigh in tomorrow.

Today I have been good though so far and I've filled my fridge again with healthiness for the week, and I've prepared food for the rest of today and tomorrow, and I've made another batch of the cinnamon nuts for snacks for the week or so ahead.

CallMeMeMe · 15/01/2017 20:41

I've not rtft yet but placemarking as we now have 2 of the books... I'm planning a gradual ease into it, mainly as I really hate meal planning and making shopping lists and can't face doing too much of it at at onceConfused.
We had courgetti bolognese for tea tonight and it was delicious! So it bodes well I think. Fingers crossed...

MrsDesperado · 16/01/2017 12:15

Well I was 10st 3lb this morning at weigh in, 0.25 lb heavier than last week. Not surprising given my derailment and boozing. Firmly in the inner circle today.

How's everyone else getting on?

tomatoplantproject · 16/01/2017 13:35

I'm back in the circle. Big fat 0 weight loss this week, and like you MrsD I have slipped a few times when eating out.

I'm going to have a week of sticking religiously to the plan in the hope of making a difference next Monday.

DesertIslandPenguin · 16/01/2017 14:14

Sorry to hear that folks have been struggling, here's to a lovely week of dancing in the inner circle!

I'm getting on okay, I did treat myself to a slightly illicit portion of Muscle Mousse with a squirt of cream last night. It's high protein, low fat and low carb but probably the most processed thing on the planet. I'm down 8lb overall now after almost 2 weeks.

MrsDesperado · 16/01/2017 15:19

Muscle mousse?

Well done desert - your brilliant loss is keeping me going!

DesertIslandPenguin · 16/01/2017 15:35

Thanks MrsD. Muscle Mousse is like a slightly grainy high protein version of Angel Delight. As it's made with caesin rather than whey it takes longer for the protein to be broken down and therefore it's really filling. It fits in with the nutritional profile of LPM but not with the spirit of the method as it's artificially sweetened so much. I couldn't watch Sherlock last night without a sweet treat!

tomatoplantproject · 16/01/2017 17:50

Desert thats a brilliant loss - well done! StarStarStar

I'm with you on needing a sweet treat now and again. My apples and cinnamon nuts are not hitting the spot in the slightest.

DesertIslandPenguin · 16/01/2017 18:55

Thanks, tomato! I'm certainly feeling very motivated for the rest of the week.

Is anyone else struggling to find Total Greek yoghurt? Out of stock at all my local stores for the last two weeks. I'm beginning to fret that the company has gone under. (Although I remember them from when I was little, and the fitness community eats it by the bucketload, especially Body Coach followers!)

Have had two sessions at the chiropractor and am noticing improvements already. I am, admittedly, very sore tonight after going to the gym as well as the chiropractor today. I may shuffle things next week so that it doesn't happen again!!

tomatoplantproject · 16/01/2017 19:34

Is it... all in my fridge? It has been sold out a couple of times when I've been to buy it, but I have mostly been able to get it. Sorry - thats not much help (unless you live in my small enclave in n london).

tomatoplantproject · 16/01/2017 19:36

And double ouch for chiropractor and gym on same day. I used to be stiff for days after seeing the chiropractor (the main reason I started doing yoga was to sort out and strengthen my back)

DesertIslandPenguin · 16/01/2017 19:47

It may well all be in your fridge!! I'm having to use skyr which is nice, but not quite the same. Loads of people have been complaining on twitter but no response from the company :(

MrsDesperado · 16/01/2017 20:36

Is Total that much nicer than supermarket own brand Greek yoghurt which only costs a quid?

Today has been a good day. Firmly in the inner circle. 30 minutes of hiit done and 10386 steps stepped. I mean business.

tomatoplantproject · 16/01/2017 21:53

I reckon it is all in my fridge. You can find all sorts of things hiding in there if you have a good old rummage.

I'm a little scared MrsD. I am there on the food today but not yet the exercise. I am focussing on the decluttering pillar and have spent the evening finishing my admin. My cat has now plonked himself on my lap and so I cannot move.

walruswhiskers · 16/01/2017 21:54

Wow desert. Well done!

PushingElephantsUpStairs · 17/01/2017 08:16

Hey. Apologies for the lack of posting, struggled with battling biscuits last week and exercise wasn't much better. Only lost one pound last week. Back on it today though.

Well done desert StarStarStar8lb lose is amazing!

tomatoplantproject · 18/01/2017 17:28

So food wise I'm still on track (I've been rigidly sticking to it from sunday onwards) and I've just prepared tomorrow's meals so tomorrow should be another good LP day. I've also done 12,000 steps today.

I've noticed my skin has cleared up completely and I don't feel bloated any longer. Perhaps there is something in this eating lots of fruit and veg malarky after all?

I am really really missing chocolate though. I think when I'm onto maintenance I need to figure out some ways to get it back in my diet.

DesertIslandPenguin · 18/01/2017 17:46

I fell into a bag of lebkeuken last night, but the scales at the gym were exceedingly kind: down another 2 for a total of 10.

I've fallen out of the habit of breakfast, so I shall prepare a cherry Bircher tonight while doing tea. I need to work on getting to sleep earlier and not napping after the school run ☺️
