Can I join in the dog appreciation club? I have 2 little sods, a cavashon (who is my princess) and a Westi cross shit thing who thinks he's a rotti alpha male. DS does the daily boring walks, I do the long walks to clear my screwed up head. Both things are asleep on the bed beside me, not sure where DH and cat are going to fit in!
Good diet day and I went to Latino but I feel like the back end of a bus tonight, all stomach and bloat. So sexy in my M and S pj's!!

Bathsheba3 · 06/12/2016 07:09

Scales say 11 6.75. So I'm officially 1/2 lb down from WI last tuesday. Happy with that.

Not2bObvious · 06/12/2016 08:32

That's brilliant bath you must be delighted. I'm not feeling great the last few days (bit obv from all the moaning I'm sure!) I didn't do my tough gym session last night, I pretty much sabotaged the possibility of getting there by visiting my db and staying too late. I've packed my bag for my class today, not definitely going but at least I've the option. If I go I'm not weighing in, I can't face that.
Just need to step back a bit from the dieting, aim to maintain. I'm only on 1 advent choc a day and I won't break that, and no more pringles allowed in the house after Pringle'gate. You all sound in great form, keep it up, be like skinny minxes at this rate😉

Spaniels don't do days off do they Scandi, unless they are KC ones I think I've done half and hour with mine this morning already!! Babybels are strangely tasty aren't they? Smile

Loli I'm trying to work out the 'shon' bit of the Cavashon if you understand? They take up the whole bed, whatever their size I find!

Oh well done Bath. slowly coming off, sensible weight loss. Whenever I read WI my immediate response is Women's Institute, lord knows why. Grin I think it whoever posts it!

Be kind to yourself Not. Weight is number, with a whole heap of psychology attached to it, but it's only a number all the same.

Day off today, so household chores to do. I'm soon off to an exercise class, then going to do my run straight after, then do the dog walk long later, so I'll burn a few calories today.

Brekkie - banana on toast with a few linseeds.
Lunch - salad bagel and yoghurt or satsumas.
Dinner - JO fennel and prawn risotto as it was a real hit last time.

I read another thread last night which had some interesting posts on it re MFP and calorie intake setting, which did prompt me to check on other websites whether the set amount was correct, which it was in my case.

I'll link in a second if I can manage!

This may or may not be interesting, you guys have been doing it so much longer than I have, so it may be old rope for the majority. I thought the last post from Bo Radley gave me food for thought, 'tis all.

Ignore at will with pleasure. Smile

Needastrongone · 06/12/2016 08:57

And it does ignore the emotional aspect of eating would be my caveat, so I took it factually iyswim?

Bathsheba3 · 06/12/2016 09:47

Quick dash back to say hello to Not. Was beginning to wonder about sending out the search parties. When is the big party? Booked your hairdressers apt and manicure?

Not2bObvious · 06/12/2016 10:19

Was just off licking my wounds bath😉 Feeling done in with this weight loss/gain journey. Party is friday, getting my brows/lashes tinted but outside of that it's diy. Can't make a silk purse outta pigs ear (piggy full stop😁) I'm wearing a 3 year old dress as I cannot find anything I like and I've gone off my jumpsuit, esp since someone else is wearing but have my new lovely sparkly heels and my colour was done 3 weeks ago so the hair is ok, just need to spend time drying it. Dress is quite Joan from mad men so I'm good with it.

Lolimax · 06/12/2016 10:29

Need that thread was interesting. And a cav is cross cavalier/bichon a really lovely mix, non shedding, walks for hours sleeps for weeks. Shes a lovely natured girl but spoilt, she does the 'biscuit dance' when she fancies one (quite often!).
Not a shame you aren't wearing your trouser suit but nothing beats an old favourite.

Not2bObvious · 06/12/2016 11:16

Yeah it's a shame but I went from thinking it was classy to dowdy, probably wouldn't have thought that only heard about the other woman's outfit - 10 years younger & 2 stone lighter, I ain't going up against that lol! Ahh I'm not that competitive, I just fancy being in a similar outfit. I'll wear it for nye's instead

Sorry for the bit of absence again - been very busy at home and with work.

Loads to catch up so can't do everyone justice.

Not I think our motivation comes in cycles - it does for me at least. I think your plan of maintaining for the next while is perfect and like we've said before, weight loss is mostly about food, so if exercise is really torturing you then maybe ease back on it.

So many good recommendations from everyone here, but my 2c extra is that I really find the weekly average calories is helping me, especially to even out naughty weekends, so maybe think about trying that after Xmas when you set new goals again.

Your dress sounds fabulous - Joan from Mad Men - swizz swooo. You will be gorgeous I know you will.

Bath So delighted for you with the continuing losses - well done again Grin Star. We all have such similar stories here, in terms of comfort eating and support. You mentioned a heavy cold - is that on the mend?

Sesame That's great the maintenance is going well - you will be our poster girl when we all get to our goals FlowersWink

Scandi Wow 4 1/2lbs that's fantastic - well done StarStar! Thanks for the info on 16.8 - I'm not sure I could cope without breakfast every day Blush (although coincidentally I am trying it today) but I'm so glad you are doing so well already.

QueenOfIt good to see you - hope things have calmed down for you like Not said.

Need Well done on getting to goal!! Star Star Star. A stone is so brilliant - you should be so proud.
Haven't read that thread yet but thanks for posting - I love reading about the science/theory of it.

Loli glad you are well and that spa day with DD sounds brilliant and well deserved for you both Flowers. You have done SO well I can't use enough superlatives - it must have been a great feeling to see what you've achieved through the photos.

Goat yay for movement on the scales! Well done on the 1lb Star!

Sugar mixed weekends are okay I think and normal for a lot of us. You've had a crazy busy time so the fact you're still tracking and here is brilliant.

Keepon wow 3lbs is fantastic - well done! Star Star It might not be water at all - esp as you suck to 1200!

Things going ok for me - feel very much in the zone this week which is quite rare lately. Think I last posted on Thursday, so every day has been fairly good except Sunday which was 1870. Saturday night we just had prawns and rice for dinner and it was the first time in AGES that I felt really hungry. Thank God there was nothing in the house or I would have caved in. As I mentioned I skipped breakfast today, so I might actually finish on 920, giving me a weekly average of 1290. That includes 2 of my gins during the weekend WinkBlush. Bath if I get a pinkster I will tell you - so far I haven't heard of any of them - I usually just have Gordon's but I'm such a lightweight - if I have more than 1 I fall asleep straight away Blush.

Off work now for rest of the week so might be awol again and I really struggle to post from my phone. Going to Dublin tomorrow for some window shopping (beating all the other country-folk by a day - Not and Sugar will know what I mean Wink) so I expect there could be a naughty lunch and dinner. Hopefully I've done enough this week to make room for a bad day or two ahead.

Needastrongone · 06/12/2016 15:23

I think your idea looking over the course of a week is excellent Daw, so much more sensible. My fancy Garmin gives me all manner of weekly stats, and some are pretty motivational actually, and I am really not one for stats usually.

Tried and trusted is a good way go Not, and don't put yourself down, I am sure you are and look amazing. Smile

Loli, she sounds lovely. Mine stink a bit at present as we have just got in from a muddy walk, so they are locked in the study. I will then chase them round the house with the doggy perfume, which they hate..

My class (core and strength rather than cardio), then a 3 mile run, then a rather longer dog walk than usual as I got lost in the fog in the woods have amounted to 500 exercise calories. I never thought I would find the road again and was starting to panic!!

ps - I've just booked a weekly session with a personal trainer for Thursday mornings. It's the guy who runs our exercise classes so he knows me well enough and what I'm looking for from a session. It's £15 for 45 minutes. I just wondered Not, and not right now but when you feel okay, if this might work? But not spend the rest on other classes? Something very doable, specific to you and not make you feel so exhausted? This guy lives in our village, and a lot of his clients are older and looking for gentle motivation, personal training is not all high intensity stuff with super fit folk, I'm not suggesting you are elderly Grin
Just a good PT will take the trouble to get to know you and be less generic. x

Scandicat · 06/12/2016 21:40

Hi all. Just reporting in, really. Hope everyone has had a good day. I'm under goal and I've stuck to 16:8. That's 9 days in a row, but tomorrow's not looking good and then Xmas party on Thursday.

That link was interesting. I've also seen that the MFP calories goals aren't necessarily tailored enough. 1200 is probably too low for me, but I figure I'll go over a bit so it will give me flex for when I guess on calories etc.

Need, a personal trainer sounds like a good idea. My DH goes to a circuits class with someone local to us who might do that, but I'd thought it would be really expensive. Will put that on my list of things to do in the spring when I'm a bit fitter.

Not2bObvious · 07/12/2016 07:05

Morning all. Feeling a lot better over the last day or so, hoping very much it continues. My wrist has been very sore after my last class on Saturday so I didn't do my class yesterday as there's usually weights/suspension straps in the sessions so just erring on the side of cautious. I hope to go to my class tomorrow so as not to lose too much momentum before next week. I'm sitting here contemplating a quick jog but have a feeling it won't get much further than that but it's at least a thought in the right direction😉 Thanks so much for all the lovely encouragement, my mojo will return - just a lapse, now I'm focussing on not going into full on decline.
Haha dawg, the fabled 8th December!! Hope you enjoy the window shopping. I'll be shopping later with my littler lady, she wants to buy her big sis a Christmas present but just Liffey Valley or Blanch, no big smoke shopping for us😁

Bathsheba3 · 07/12/2016 08:56

Glad to hear things are on the up not. Sending some more positive vibes your way. You'll be grand for your party. Brows & lashes will open up and brighten your face instantly. Can't beat a bit of vintage either. Plenty of it in my wardrobe! Bet you will be radiating come Fri night - your lucky DH too Wink

PT sounds like a great investment Need - and good value at that rate too. I have / had a great one last year. Really focussed on upper body & core, i.e. the bits that get neglected when you just shoot off for a jog. The intensity of 1:1 is what did it in for me though - the tears full blown sobbing flowed on more than one occasion & I couldn't face going back Blush. I wish I could find a nice class with like-minded souls to go to, like your Latino Loli. Sounds fun?

Enjoy the rest of the week off Dawhead! Sounds as though you will enjoy a few days more relaxed pace. Your weekly average is amazing - you seem very committed. Are you feeling better in yourself?

I don't MN from my phone at all - I would be even less productive than I already am. I deleted the app too Wink.

Dog walk then desk day for me - keep strong all. It's not Christmas week yet, so step away from the chocolates & mince pies!

Not2bObvious · 07/12/2016 14:41

Just a quick stealth boast - I went for a jog! I can't say run as it was only about 4K in 30 minutes but I did it! When I started out I stopped after about 30 seconds thinking wtaf??? But I just kicked off again & pushed through. Feel really pleased with myself.
As you were😉

OP posts:
Bathsheba3 · 07/12/2016 16:10

You SO did it Not. Go you! Too damn right you should be feeling v pleased with yourself.

I can't even compete with my stealth boast - I stopped at 2 choco crunch naked bars (101 cals each). Could easily have eaten the box of 4.

Needastrongone · 07/12/2016 16:38

You bloody CAN say run Not, why the hell not? Fantastic. You should be feeling pleased with yourself, you went and did it. Go you!

Well done Scandi on sticking to the plan 9 days in a row.

Bath That's what I'm looking for really, I neglected anything else but running pre injury, so I am looking for core strength and flexibility, upper body too as you say. I'm hoping he doesn't kill me. Grin

My stealth boast is that I declined homemade cheesecake at work today.

Been a busy day work wise. Just got in the house in time to grab the dogs for an hours walk. Made carrot and orange soup really quickly now to have after running tonight and for the rest of the family.

Brekkie - egg on toast.
Lunch - bagel with plain chicken, apple.
Pre run snack - 2 x cracker and cheese. Gel pre run. Low cal energy drink.
Dinner - carrot, ginger and orange soup, crusty bread.

Meeting a friend early for a pre run run as per normal and hope to get about 10 miles in tonight.

Bathsheba3 · 07/12/2016 21:24

I couldn't do all your activity on just those rations need - mind you I am lugging around an extra 4 stone on you Grin. That's quite a lot really. Especially on the the feet and joints. btw thanks for your kind supportive words comparing your DB with my DH. Helps a lot. My DH obviously does pick-up my texts as he's just walked in the door with wine !!! Hurray. No reply though!

Just worked out I still do need to shift 6.5 lbs to get into healthy BMI territory.

How's everyone else? Managing to maintain? Any losses to report?

Needastrongone · 07/12/2016 21:57

The reply is irrelevant, he's got the vino Grin

You'll get the pounds off Bath, I feel sure.

Well you may have a point, I'm fine and not hungry at all but burning through calories. Completed my diary for the day on MFP and would be 6st13 in 5 weeks, which I clearly don't want to be. 2 dresses bought for Christmas look dreadful. Food for thought. Balancing act.

Needastrongone · 08/12/2016 07:47

Actually, that was really negative my last paragraph. I've totted up my average daily calories intake since logging on MFP and it's 1946 per day, so plenty for a short arse like me. Told you I was crap at dieting MFP suggests 1460 plus exercise obviously Grin

The dresses don't reflect my new shape, 'tis all. I'm changing back into a more 'skinny runner' build than 'curvy middle aged sedentary woman'. Smile

Lolimax · 08/12/2016 08:08

Middle aged sedentary woman waving good morning at you all!! I've actually got an amazing loss to report 2lbs off!! But, and it's a big but....DH and I are off to London for the weekend (coach trip, no kids, very excited!) and I fully expect to gain that and more. But today at least I weigh 12 stone.

Needastrongone · 08/12/2016 08:47

Oh shit, have I put my foot in it again? I SO hope I haven't. I was honestly only referring to myself in my post. I think I had got used to dressing in a way to hide myself from bits that I didn't like. The dresses I bought looked awful as they reflected that fact I really haven't liked myself very much for the past year or 18 months.

I'm so sorry if my post didn't reflect that fact, it was really only referring to me, I promise!

Loli 2lbs is amazing weight loss, well done! Enjoy your time away being 'grown up' again with your DH. We did a night at a hotel recently, first time and the kids are teenagers. It was wonderful. Enjoy.

Not How are your legs today after your RUN yesterday? Smile

Bath Did the vino hit the spot?

Needastrongone · 08/12/2016 08:51

ps - Not Are you still liking the advent calendars? I'm loving both of mine, the M&S in particular.

I'm just having a massive bowl of porridge with some cocoa powder mixed in, doing some chores this morning (day off). Dog walk as per usual (pouring down, pah!).

Tonight is Boxercise and I think I will run 3 miles before hand too, if I can be arsed.

Brekkie - porridge.
Lunch - not sure, bagel or falafel maybe.
Dinner - homemade lasagna and salad (nom)

Lolimax · 08/12/2016 09:19

Need no I was being sarcastic I have a very dry sense of humour!
