Oh I wish I was close to target need I had around 21lb to go before my flux, now 23lb😩 Thanks you though, you are 100% right, it's nothing in the big scheme. Ahh it's grand, just a bump in the road. Thanks too sugar for the mfp suggestion - nothing new to report on the nsv front, if I scrap the barrel my clothes still fit haha!
Around 1400 due to some afternoon nibbling but that's not too shocking.

Not2bObvious · 19/01/2017 18:35

Ooh and congrats on your jacket nsv sugar, that's brilliant progress in only 3.5 weeks!!! Well done skinny minny 😉

1400 today is good Not. I'm at a round 1300 which includes my evening snack = wine. Notably missing from your snack list Need? I had more cod + lentils + kale at lunch, and roast veg red pesto pasta for dinner. A bit carb-heavy, but pasta:veg ratio for mine was about 1/2 to that of everyone else's I was doing.

Thanks for tip Sugar - I'll check it out. Every now and then I'll take a peak at the photo-only success stories on mfp.

Looking forward to an evening catching-up with TV & the sofa. I did go out for lovely brisk walk with hound for an hour. My back feels as though it is finally on the mend.

Not2bObvious · 19/01/2017 20:33

I spoke too soon bath, I finished on 1600 which considering my humour/tiredness I'll take gladly! Taken myself off to bed and out of the way of wine & crisps. I promised 4 days off the 🍷and for once I delivered

Sugarandsalt · 19/01/2017 20:41

Kitchen closing here on 1500, had some chocolate raisins (love them!). 13000 steps + online PT.

Tomorrow is a rest day. Although I'm on call so may end up less restful than planned!

Needastrongone · 19/01/2017 22:14

Bath Wine is in my hand now Grin I notice you have the snack = wine thing going on.... Grin. I wasn't going to but it's been a long evening training with DD and we've just got back in, I fancied one. We'll be up again before 6 am to sort the pony. Goon news re the back.

Kitchen closed at 1770. I have about 200 deficit. Including wine...

About 18k steps here and I only did one short dog walk. Just shows how little I sit down in life...

JontyDoggle37 · 19/01/2017 22:48

No counting done today. Currently in A&E with DS, brought in by ambulance a couple of hours ago with fever and breathing complications. He's perked up since he got here, which is good. Costa coffee is the only food source in here so I'll worry about the diet another day. Hoping we might be able to take him home as he's improved a bit.

Not2bObvious · 19/01/2017 22:55

Oh no jonty, your poor baby😔 Glad to hear he's perking up, little mites had a bad run of it - you guys must be so drained, the worry when they're ill is terrible. Hoping he & you have a good nightFlowers

OP posts:
JontyDoggle37 · 20/01/2017 00:20

We're home, with more antibiotics. He's gone straight to bed and is actually sleeping peacefully for now. Here's hoping for 6 hours sleep...

Not2bObvious · 20/01/2017 07:49

Glad to hear you're home, hope he's much better this morning. I hope you can take it a bit easy this morning, you must be exhausted.
8 hours sleep last night so I'm sleep drunk! Feels good though. 11.6 this morning, so .4 down from last Friday and 2.6 down in 2 weeks. I'll take that. Into the weekend danger zone, best plan the ar*e out of it!
Anyone doing anything nice?

OP posts:
Sugarandsalt · 20/01/2017 08:04

Jonty sorry to hear DS has been ill again. Hope you got some rest and that he's on the mend. At least it's Friday and you can hopefully catch up over the weekend. My DD has spent the night coughing but is in great form and woke up demanding breakfast so I'm hoping she's not coming down with anything.

Official weigh in day- down to 11 8. 1.5lbs this week. Delighted with that. Expect bloating to kick in at the end of next week so will be happy to finish January at this point (remind me next week when I'm moaning!).

Today have a fairly busy work day. On call until tomorrow morning so hopefully not too many overnight calls although my sleep has been so bad lately it may make no difference. Have planned lots of fresh air and early nights this weekend to work on it.

Today I may have some calories to play with!
Breakfast: oats+chia seeds, almond milk, cashew butter (216cals)
Lunch: pea and ham soup (300cals), apple (75cals)
Dinner: Asparagus and ricotta frittata (320cals)

I think I'll add something to the dinner and maybe have a mid afternoon snack of nuts. Or some very dark chocolate. Wine is not an option unfortunately! I try to keep on call day calorie plans low as may get very delayed and end up snacking.

Bathsheba3 · 20/01/2017 08:35

Flowers Jonty. Well done on the losses sugar & not. Great stuff. 11.6 for me today too, but don't really believe it. DS in bad form, and of course its always all my fault Wink. I arranged all my work meetings today to meet a friend for lunch & she's cancelled on me. Could really have done with an hour's chatting with a pal today. Oh well. I guess it's extra calories saved!

Lolimax · 20/01/2017 08:37

Morning! Jonty I hope LO is on the mend and you've managed to get some sleep.
The advice you all gave me seemed to work. Upped the calories, slept better, lost weight. Down to 11.12. Result!!

JontyDoggle37 · 20/01/2017 09:01

Wow excellent losses everyone, I'm very envious!
Managed five hours solid sleep, which feels like a luxury at the moment. DS still has v high temp this morning so I'm staying home with him again and working around him (thankfully my boss is a star and fully supportive). Planning healthy soup and pork loin steaks with veg for dinner, so hopefully I'll come in near target, barring the unexpected!

Not2bObvious · 20/01/2017 09:09

Great news from the not so sad step today! bath I hate that, when you're looking forward to a good natter/moan but yeah it's a few cals saved. sugar you're really motoring into the 11's very nicely and you loli. Glad you started to take in a bit more fuel, have to be careful not to let our weightloss obsessions get too obsessive iykwim. I've booked in for a morning class which starts in 40 mins, taking a v early lunch break as it's quite & I'm wfh today. Glad to hear your boss is supportive jonty, you've enough to worry about without feeling bad about work. Hope the temp drops & it's a lot less eventful day than yesterday.
Wearing my new bottoms (in my old "before" bottom) and my new runners so looking the part even if I'm still like an old woman after tuesdays class. Might do an Epsom salts bath later to preempt the new batch of aches!

OP posts:
Not2bObvious · 20/01/2017 09:10

And I know the difference between quite & quiet but my stupid phone doesn't!!!

OP posts:
DawheadAwgusEeentock · 20/01/2017 15:59

Ah Not it's great to hear you sounding so upbeat. Big YAY on the loss that's brilliant Star - and on the 4 non-wine-days NSV Grin. Tell us all about the class this morning!

Jonty so sorry about your little boy again - fingers crossed he keeps getting better today. I know I said it before but it's such a credit to you that you're staying on track while he's under the weather.

Loli wahoo - well done on the loss Star! And wow that's amazing about Casualty - must have been brilliant to see all the backstage stuff.

Need wow you really are so active - I'd have to walk the dog about 4 times in a day to make 18k steps. The running club set-up sounds great - I never would have imagined it was that many people. And it sounds v exciting to be planning for a marathon next year.

Sugar ahh Blush about the PT but that sounds v clever that it's synched up with the fitbit. Woohoo about the NSV and well done on the loss too Star!!! Fingers crossed for your DD that she isn't catching anything.

Sesame that's a great cal total considering you're maintaining - hope work is ok.

Bath That's a shame about not seeing your friend for lunch - I hate when that happens after rearranging stuff. But woohoo on the loss Star I bet it's true! You've been doing really well and you're so determined - it's great.

So lovely to see so many losses - the happiness and sense of achievement really comes through the updates IYKWIM.

So I know this is Weight Loss and not relationships, but I'm not in a good place today. Can't remember when I last mentioned how things are with me and H, but we had a joint counselling session last night (first joint one since Nov) and it didn't go well at all. Difficult stuff came up near the end which meant we ran out of time to resolve it, so we both came home very mad with each other. Anyway, I won't go into the gory details but today I don't know whether I want to starve myself or eat all round me.

Right now I'm on plan for 1250 which means my weekly average is 1415 so far (should be lower but ended up having pizza Weds night - before all this blew up - and even worse it was my idea Blush). Ironically I think I had my lowest day since Xmas yesterday at 1215.

I just have to keep busy for the rest of today and not allow myself any thinking time or I'll be raiding the Xmas stash again. Thank God work is going ok or I'd be done for.

Not2bObvious · 20/01/2017 16:19

The class was tough, circuits. Tonnes of burpees which I cannot manage properly but I gave them a go! Did my food shopping, home to unpack shopping/do some work/hoover/mop/clean & then had an Epsom bath. Just finished prepping ingredients for tonight's food - so a busy day. Also prepped a pound of prawns which was quite a pita. Then recycled old bananas into cake! Phew, no wonder I'm knackered now.
Oh dawg, that sounds painful😞 I feel relationship problems are akin to mental torture, well in my house anyway. I'm a disaster at difficult conversations so I can't advise but I'm sending you a hug. At least you guys are working on your issues, can't change what you don't acknowledge as the great man says (that would be Dr Phil, I'm a weirdo who loves him) Be nice to yourself missus

OP posts:
Sugarandsalt · 20/01/2017 22:04

I'm just home. Fingers crossed that's it for the night! Have had 1400calories today. 15000 steps but no other exercise.

Dawg I'm sorry to hear the counselling session went badly. I hope you feel a bit better now. I'm also not much of a marriage counsellor but I really hope you come to a conclusion one way or the other- I do know that things are always better once you make a decision either way.

Not I hope you had a lovely dinner. Hope everyone else has a good start to the weekend.

Not2bObvious · 21/01/2017 06:50

Finished yesterday a smidge under 1750 which is acceptable for a Friday (was often twice that!) Didn't drink much, 2 glasses is wine, 1 g&t I didn't finish - wasn't that bothered. What's rare is wonderful! I am sore in different places today, did some weird slam ball exercises yesterday & my upper back is aching. Another day of cooking/baking - get a head start on the week! Anyone doing anything nice?

OP posts:
Needastrongone · 21/01/2017 07:31

Great losses Bath and Loli and Sugar (love the sound of your food). I'm glad you upped to calories a touch Loli, I don't think going too low for longer periods can be sustainable, it's not teaching us how to change eating habits long term maybe. I'm sorry your friend cancelled though Bath.

Actually sounds like a good class Not. She says in a weird way. Aching in different places would suggest lots of different muscle groups have been worked, which is a good overall workout. Burpees are really hard!

Daw I'm no relationship counsellor either, it seems such a shame the session ended in a negative manner and the counsellor couldn't give you a little more time, as it seems to have had a negative impact and not a positive one. Flowers

Jonty So glad little DS is improving and you got some sleep. Well done indeed for sticking to task re diet, which is very hard in those circumstances but proof it can be done.

No exercise class or run yesterday but a long dog walk and home cooked food all day. One extra glass of wine last night and I really feel it today in my head, stupid of me.

Half planned a run today but my legs are still a touch tired and I have a XC race Sunday morning so I will settle for a dog walk and rest day. DH is away for 2 weeks on business so I will be doing the chores and run arounds anyway.

7.5 today, so I think I've dropped a bit this week.

Menu will be.
Porridge and mango.
Tuna wrap and fruit.
JO chicken and chorizo traybake or scruffy winter lasagne.

Not2bObvious · 21/01/2017 08:03

I'm intrigued need, what's scruffy winter lasagne? You sound like you need a rest day, glad you're listening to your body. My scales is still 11.6 which is a good sign, if I can keep it at that tomorrow & by Monday I'll be pleased. Means I'll have a fighting chance of another pound down by next Friday. I have just under 7 weeks to get the dress to fit, tried it on and showed himself as I needed some insight to how bad the problem is. It's slightly bias cut & the high'ish waistband part of where the problem lies. It's also where I have a collection of flab so hopefully 7lbs will make that difference. I think today is going to be a 2 meal day like most weekends, poached egg/whole meal toast and a dollop of left over guacamole is on the menu for brunch, roast chicken dinner later as have company. Going to make a cake & going to have a wee slice😉

Morning! Lovely cuppa in bed before I go for a long walk with the dogs. Aching slightly after my PT session last night but in a good way.
Daw I was married 16 years (together 18) first time. It's so hard after all those years together. I hope you manage to work things through.
Not I reckon you'll have that dress sussed. I so hope you do!
Need a rest day sounds like a plan, good luck tomorrow.
Jonty how is he this morning?
Well scales say I've lost but I've decided my weight fluctuates so quickly until I maintain that I'm just going to carry on and ignore (but hope it's right!!).
Have a great Saturday everyone.

Needastrongone · 21/01/2017 09:17

I like a 'good ache' too, Loli. And a leisurely cuppa too.

I'm with you. My weight fluctuates by circa 2lb. It's got to be normal I figure, depending on TOTM and hydration.

I might be tempted to run today if I wasn't racing tomorrow as my legs have woken up a bit but I won't. I'm happy to give in to listening to my body if I really need a rest day, but I know I would feel worse if it was due to being lazy. That just makes you feel even more negative I find.

Scruffy winter lasagne is a recipe from the new JO book Bath. I've searched but it's not online at the minute. It's made with chicken thigh, poached and then 'pulled' (like pork) in the sauce. Also uses fennel, chestnut mushroom, savoy cabbage (I have kale) and a bit of streaky bacon. 3 portions of veg and 500 calories per portion. I am going to make it I have decided.

Not2bObvious · 21/01/2017 13:25

Sounds nice need, I had a lasagne in Portugal that had fennel in it and it was really good. I don't know if I could pick it out if a line up though, not a common ingredient in my neck of the woods. I'm on taxi duty as dh isn't well and it's not helping my aching muscles. It's actually a lovely day here, would love a nice walk but there's just no time. Thoroughly enjoyed my eggs/guacamole brunch but snaffled a profiterole & a celebration. I need immediate distraction after meals to turn my munchies off. Off on another collection...sigh
