Hi everyone!

Work stuff keeps getting in the way of getting to post of getting to post on here…. Xmas Angry I am however keeping up with reading all the posts this time…

not you are doing fantastic – I am sooo impressed!

need well done on getting to target weight! Halo

dawhead great work, you have nearly caught up with me! At the rate I’m gaining, I may even meet you on the way downWink Don’t beat yourself up about the photos. I’m now a normal weight, but I’ll never have a bikini body. Now I’m 5-6st down overall (since 2012) I have loose skin on my belly and boobs, they’ll never be the same again. But I do at least now look much much better in my clothes, including the lovely slinky dress I’ve bought and my new coat. I’m sure you look a stunner in that Monsoon dress! Xmas Grin

loli well done on the 15km, you’re doing really well! Star

pyjamas welcome back – you get a clean slate now too, you can do this!

bath I know that feeling of losing control…. You can regain it and that positive mind set too, step by step…. Flowers

I have been spiralling quite a bit of late. Xmas Confused I got sucked into the work place Xmas treat table and I haven’t really recovered. Cue 4 nights last week, where I ate so many crisps, choc, biscuits and mince pies, I couldn’t even eat my dinner though that didn’t stop me from having late night snacks of toast and cheeseXmas Shock Weighed in a smidgen over 9st10 yesterday, which is above my target zone of 9st8-9st10… Sad I really need to get back on top of things. I’m currently trying to cut out/cut down on breakfast to see if that can make a dent. I’ve got used to eating 300-400 cal breakfasts around 9, then a big ole lunch (about 700cal) around 12.30. That doesn’t even curb my afternoon snacking, and I still want dinner after all that. So today I started with a boiled egg, 2 satsumas and my usual milky coffees and teas. It was 216 cals for all that, and I was absolutely fine up until lunch, which I’ve just had. Fingers crossed I can bring my calorie totals down a bit this way and rein in some of all the Xmas excesses.

DawheadAwgusEeentock · 19/12/2016 17:38

Thanks everyone for the lovely comments Flowers you're all so lovely and brilliant.

Not I really don't think you will rebound this time. We are all here to egg you on and you really sound like you're in the zone lately - it's brilliant to see Xmas Grin. Well done on doing the Sat class - you superhero! And it's fab you got back to 11.3 after the weekend. Well deserved 'letting your hair down' day yesterday Wine and hope you're having a nice snooze Xmas Wink.

Loli happy belated Birthday Flowers! Wow how exciting about your DS - what an experience for him! Well done on getting back to 12st Star Star and that 100km challenge is a great idea - I love the idea of your 2 little white dogs dead to the world with happy exhaustion. Woohoo for being finished horrible work for 2016 Xmas Grin. It's so good to hear you sounding so well and happy.

Bath a big non-sugary Brew for you. I think we have all been at that overwhelmed stage at one point, so just repeating what Not and Need said about taking one day at a time. You have done brilliantly so far, once you get through Christmas you'll be back in the swing of things in no time I promise.

Need I would vote for you as SPOTY as well Xmas Grin. One of my friends is hugely into running and her tummy is bloody amazing, I'm so in awe of you all. Hooray for being finished work too! Pity about the Indian but so glad you enjoyed the race (as foreign a concept as that is to me Xmas Wink).

Pyjamas welcome back - you're here and that's the biggest part of the battle!

Sesame by any chance did you keep logging in MFP? Or did you fall off the wagon completely Xmas Wink. Considering you've been indulging a little, I think it's brilliant you're still in your maintenance window (ignore the smidgen). Temptation is all around us this time of year so the fact you're on here and still thinking about it is something to be proud of Flowers.

My Saturday and Sunday were disasters again. TOTM arrived early (for me too Not) on Saturday and I've just been feeling bleurgh - bloated and crampy and v tired and v grumpy. How come after almost 30 years it still affects me badly Xmas Angry.

Anyway, willpower evaporated and had hot chocolate and cake for lunch Saturday, then cheesecake pudding AND 10 (yes T.E.N.) TUC crackers that night. It really scared me, because it's the first time since I started this, that I almost lost track of my food. I just kept mindlessly sticking my hand in the packet and munching. Then yesterday we went for pizza to psych ourselves up for horrible work and I had a gin before bed (up to day 10 now I think).

So, to make a long story less long, my average was up to 1800 yesterday Xmas Hmm. But, I'm redeeming myself slightly today, no breakfast and just sweet'n'sour turkey & rice for dinner so should finish on an even 1000. Also, thank God H has agreed to not buy any more TUCs, if they're not in the house we can't eat them. Although instead, there are 4 boxes of mince pies (for H) and a packet of 6 Xmas Yule logs (120 cals each) for me Xmas Blush. Must.resist.until.Wednesday.

Needastrongone · 19/12/2016 18:30

Evening.

Sesame, I don't think you are very far off maintenance at all, it's hardly worth worrying about. Things will get back to normal after the festive period.

Daw. Thank you for you kind comments on the running! TOTM is awful isn't it? Best idea there, don't have those nasty TUC biscuits in the house to tempt you.

I've done my run and gained some calories, about 400. And it was my last day at work today, yippee. But having DH at home (he finished Friday) has meant every thing seems sorted and relaxed. Tea is in the oven and I'm sat watching a film. Unheard of for a Monday night, I'm usually running around doing chores or taxiing kids around. Grin

Needastrongone · 19/12/2016 18:32

How you feeling Not, did you have a snooze?

SesameSparkle · 19/12/2016 19:05

need that sounds like a lovely day. Smile What film are you watching?

dawhead, I agree with need, it’s time to go cold turkey on the tucs and stop having them in the house. Chocolate logs are yummy are another matter entirely however… Xmas Wink

I am actually still logging everything, which is at least something. It’s a bloody mess though, Friday’s snack listing alone came to 1198cals, and started with my usual ‘healthy’ treats: apple (80), clementine (28), white coffee (35), before it went completely downhill: mince pie (257), 2 bourbon biscuits (140), 2 small choc digestives (133), 2 small choc biscuits (131), 40g doritos (204), 50g pretzels (190)…. Then after ‘skipping’ dinner, I got home at 11.00pm and had 2 slices of bread and cheese and 4(!) clementines totting up to (386). Xmas Shock Xmas Hmm My daily average is currently sitting at 2232, goal is 1770, though maintenance is probably around the 2000s. Unchecked that would be worth a gain of minimum 2lb a month, and there’s still 2 weeks of festivities left to get through…. Must take back control of all this…

Not2bObvious · 19/12/2016 19:08

Evening all. Well I soldiered on, came home early but then worked from home til about 4. No snooze, my new breed of hangover seems to take its shape in a kinda zombified insomniac sloth. Didn't eat too much but probably in or around 1500 which I think is acceptable considering my critical condition😉 It'll be an early night and suffice to say as I'm wine poisoned there'll be no cheeky Monday glass! I'm still pretty sore from Saturday, final weigh in tomorrow. Fingers X'Ed for another kg, which would make it 3 in total. I didn't weigh in today and I won't tomorrow, I'll let the scales in the gym have the final say. Measurements being done too, eek!

OP posts:
Needastrongone · 20/12/2016 08:10

Good luck for your weigh in Not.

I slept from 10.15pm until 6.50am and didn't move a muscle. I've had an annoying tickly cough and sore throat recently. Having a relaxing cuppa in bed, but then going to do general house chores and then meet my friend for an 8 mile run.

DMil's B'day today and SiL is doing a buffet tea. She's done SW all year and lost 2 stone so hopefully there will be healthy choices.

Lolimax · 20/12/2016 08:29

Morning! Please stop all this talk of mince pies, tuck biscuits, wine and other lovely festive goodies! With DH on afternoons, one child in Australia (having a ball) and other back to his mum (DD's grown up) I've been able so far to avoid any proper food shopping. Until tomorrow when we're going to Sainsbury's.
But I'm so Xmas Sad. I'm walking at least 12kms a day, keeping under 1200 calories and have I lost? Have I heck. Bloody diets. I ache though so something is happening somewhere!

Not2bObvious · 20/12/2016 13:09

Oh you'll be due a whoosh soon loli, you've dropped the excess of London - your body just needs to stabilise (sez she who will through an EPIC wobbly if the scales aren't down this avo)
Not too much biscuit talk but I think tuc are a great alternative to other snacks. You'd get nearly 4 tuc to 1 chocolate. Of course that's if you only eat 4, not 48😉

OP posts:
Lolimax · 20/12/2016 13:38

Good luck Not!

Needastrongone · 20/12/2016 15:49

Shakespeare in Love Sesame. Smile

I had a brilliant run with my friend. We covered 7 miles, chatting away happily. 484 calories burned.

Brekkie - egg and toast.
Lunch - edamame salad, mango, big pile of berries, yum yum.
Dinner - buffet meal.
Snack - chocolate milk after the run.
Glass of wine.

Not2bObvious · 20/12/2016 17:59

Ok, news from the gym. Still the same as last week kilo wise but I've lost 3" off waist & 3" off hips, 2" off my bust. Apparently this should drop me 2 dress sizes. Not quite, just makes me less of a vanity size 10. So good news alround and I'm now focussing on dropping under 11 before 2017. So I think, if I go with morning weigh in's, I've about 3-4 pound to go. I am definitely fitter & my face looks thinner. All positive and I'll keep working on my mindset of eating when hungry etc.
Your run sounds lovely need, I wish I had a friend to run with. It's sounds so nice to have someone to chat with. Maybe I should join a running club, I could do with meeting some new people. I have friends (real ones I swear!) just life's so busy I don't get to see them v much. Anyway, that's enough waffle from me. Pizza & chips for tea, a little treat

OP posts:
Lolimax · 20/12/2016 19:06

Wow Not that's a lot of inches off! You should be very proud of yourself.
Need that's some run!
A good day here, 2 hour walk with happy hounds then came home and found the bottom of both the washing and ironing baskets. Smugville here tonight.

Not2bObvious · 21/12/2016 06:46

Morning all! loli I thought the bottom of the basket was an urban myth, like Nessie but even more elusive. Maybe that's only in my house dirty messy kip
Up doing a load of washing & starting my slow cooked ham in coke for my yearly afternoon Christmas tea tomorrow. I'm baking 2 cakes as well but I'll start them later or tomorrow morning. Fell off the wagon into chocolates & wine last night. Lose 8"? Oh you should totally try undo that you silly woman! Scales showing 11.4.2 which is in keeping with the gym, my Sunday afternoon booze fest was v likely to blame. Ho hum, back on it like car bonnet. In work for a few hours & then home to deep clean the house aka dirty messy kip How's everyone else's day shaping up? Only 4 more sleeps😁

OP posts:
Lolimax · 21/12/2016 07:20

Not I only found both as I'm childless before Christmas. It won't last long!
My news....I'm in the 11's! 11.13 this morning. This from someone who was 16.2 in April. Not a good day to go Christmas food shopping ha ha!!

Not2bObvious · 21/12/2016 08:00

Oh well done loli, that is fantastic news. No bother to you about the Christmas food, you're the zone leader😉 59lbs in 8 months, you're over 25% less of the woman you were. And the 75% that's left is a superstar👏

OP posts:
Lolimax · 21/12/2016 18:04

Thank you Not you say such lovely things. Well spent a small fortune in Sainsbury's and treated myself to a pack of mini stollen, the first of which I'll have with a cuppa later.
DD came over and walked today's 14km with the mutts and I then I cooked us steak and oven roasted veg. It was lovely to spend time with her although she's complaining her legs are aching now. Kids have no stamina!

DawheadAwgusEeentock · 21/12/2016 18:14

Sorry for going awol yesterday - work work and house work just got on top of me.

Need hooray for relaxation at last! Hope your slight cold goes away fast - lots of Brews. How was SIL's buffet tea for DMIL? Any inspiration for us from SW Xmas Wink

Sesame see - it's brilliant that you're still logging and aware of what you're eating. That's such an achivement for all of us on here - and honestly that average isn't bad for Christmas indulgence.

Not wow - well done on the inches!! Star Star Star that's so fantastic and such a great thing to achieve this year. The Xmas afternoon tea sounds lovely - are you having family round for it?

Loli wahoo for being in the 11s Star Star well done! 25% is bloody brilliant - you so deserve to be in smugville (never mind the laundry) - what an amazing accomplishment - you are fantastic.

A fairly good day yesterday - finished on 1200 (incl a gin and half a choccie yule log) which brought my weekly avg down to 1600. Then, I don't understand why, but I'd lost another 1lb this week bringing me slightly under 10 - 63.3kg ~ 9.13.6! Now, TMI warning, but I will say that I was very bunged up with TOTM for the first few days but then I had the opposite problem Monday and yesterday which may have helped.

My brief glimpse of the 9s will be short lived however Xmas Grin as I've just finished work till next week so indulgence probably starts tonight Xmas Wink. All I can promise is that I'm going to try to log everything, but I'll be happy if I'm at 65.5kg (~10st4) in 2 weeks' time. I won't allow myself to register being in the 9s yet - I'd almost prefer it as a goal for next year as crazy as that sounds.

Might just be posting from my phone over the next few days so my updates will be rubbish, but I'll be thinking of you all. We've all done so well this year I think we're allowed a week or two of relaxation and we can help each other get back on the wagon in January.

In case I don't say it in my chocolate-filled haze in the next 2 weeks, thank you all for your support over the last 5 months. There is no doubt in my mind that I've achieved so much only because of you all being here. It means so much and makes such a difference, to have someone to talk to and to feel listened to Flowers.

Needastrongone · 21/12/2016 18:15

Wow, Loli, well done indeed. That's simply amazing weight loss, and you should be very proud of yourself, go you! I feel like I'm spending a fortune at the minute too in various food shops and deliveries. Hoping to have a day at home tomorrow, i'm knackered.

Last nights buffet wasn't bad at all as SiL is doing SW, massive difference to the stuff she would have served last year, which was interesting in itself.

I'm running with a faster group tonight, but just 4 miles. Dreading it but need to kick on a bit. Having a fuddle afterwards but I've put a chicken curry in the slow cooker so will refrain as much as I can.

Still maintaining. Today 7lb 8lbs, so the 3lb fluctuation seems like a fair assessment and accounts for TOTM and water etc. Yesterday less, day before more.

Breakfast - avocado on toast.
Lunch - olives, 2 falafels, few nuts, half a fun size sausage roll and one chocolate. 2 clementines. Few grapes. I've grazed today.
Dinner - chicken curry and rice.
Snack - anything from fuddle.

Needastrongone · 21/12/2016 18:19

Cross post with Daw.

I completely understand, putting pressure to be keep that 9 is too stressful over Christmas. Much better to move forward in the NY. When the 9 is a 9 more days than it isn't, that's the time to accept the weight iyswim.

Glad you've finished work and enjoy Christmas. xx

Not2bObvious · 21/12/2016 19:27

Into the 9's dawg, that's really impressive- tuc'gate did no harm then eh😉 Yep it's a family thing, but only small, 4 adults & 4 kids. I ended up working til 5 so no chance to get a start on the baking, I'm going to have an early night and then get up v early to bake before work, hopefully finish by 1 so I've a couple of hours to decorate the cakes. V ambitious cake plan (well for me!) and gourmet sambos.
Fair play need going for a run despite being v tired - mind yourself & don't burn out. I really struggled with my class on Saturday with totm, it's understandable be exhausted by that. Sometimes we really do need to listen to our bodies. My dh said was I finished with the gym for Christmas & I was musing about going Saturday morning but in reality I'm usually destroyed by it - that mightn't be the best plan for Christmas Eve...hmm

OP posts:
Needastrongone · 21/12/2016 22:34

Thanks Not, for worrying. Smile. The tiredness was all in my mind tonight as I had agreed to run with a faster group and wasn't convinced I was ready. Turns out I was, legs kicked in, pace returned again and I ran 5 very fast miles with plenty in the tank. Tiredness for me is often mind over matter. I've run such a long time I know when to have a day off. I'm not running tomorrow, have a session with my PT instead.

I had a buffet supper then ate some chicken curry when I got in, so ate any gains back on. Smile

Not2bObvious · 22/12/2016 07:41

Up since 4.45am baking. I know it soothes some people but me? I'm a cranky bag now! One of the cakes was meant to take 1 hour to bake, 1 hour & 50 mins later it's just cooked. In a sweat. I haven't gone near the scales this morning as would like chuck it through the way window if it said the wrong thing.
Is this your second meeting with the pt need? Just wondering what he/she has you doing. I'm toying with the idea of doing a quick run after work & before last minute party prep. I'm thinking it might give me a lift - when my instructor did my measurements there was no loss off my thighs or calfs, and I would love to reduce my chunky thighs. I know you can't spot reduce but maybe running might slim the legs a tad? It would make a huge difference to trouser size (and I've started to hate my thigh size) I know it'll be a lovely day once I'm finished preparing - just wish I didn't have to work today. If I focus I may be able to get all done by 1, party starts at 3

OP posts:
Needastrongone · 22/12/2016 09:02

It's hard to fit in everything at this time of year isn't it Not? Baking since 4.45am shows some dedication to the cause bless you. I hope it turns out okay, are these for work? Long day for you. Just do what you can I would say, sounds like you have Christmas chaos and mayhem to deal with first.

In answer, it is the second session. I've known the PT years, as he used to teach at my first gym pre kids. I know he's good, he knows I'm pretty dedicated. My plan is based on improving my running efficiency and protecting my back. So lots of abdominal work, hamstring and quad strength and flexibility training. No cardio as I do plenty of that!

Imho running is easily the best fat burning exercise out there, but I may be biased Smile

Bathsheba3 · 22/12/2016 09:10

big wave to you all. Everyone sounds in good spirits - literally too!! - and 11's for Loli Star, inches lost for Not Star, such lovely posts Daw Star, amazing energy NeedStar, for coming back when the going was tough PJStar, and for plodding-on despite spiralling Sesame Star.

I've got another tough couple of days trying to clear the decks of work and ironing - what a combination - then hope to get back in zone v v soon.
