Hi all, haven't been on for a few days and now my app won't let me see all of the thread Hmm...maybe if I post, it will and then I can catch up with you all!

So I've been doing this for 2 weeks and have lost 2.5lbs - I'm happy with that as a) I think losing 1lb a week is realistic for me if it's going to stay off and b) it was my son's birthday the other day, so cake....treats....meals!!
Oh and c) I STILL haven't had any spare time to do proper exercise as life has been mad busy!

Hope everyone is doing ok and I'll try to find the whole thread later!

QuimReaper · 20/11/2016 10:58

Ooooh, so much going on! So glad to see you're OK Beyond, hope you see a speedy recovery!

Sounds like lovely meals out BOOP and Hairspray - what'd you have -BOOP?

Excellent news on the surprise whoosh Bunnyjo and a great loss so far wine! I agree that 1lb a month is the most sustainable rate to go at.

Sounds like you're getting In The Zone pony - love your scales hinting at losses to come Grin

QuimReaper · 20/11/2016 11:00

I was still feeling ropey yesterday when DP and I went for a horrible lunch in this little pub, so o ate hardly anything and sat there shivering over a sparkling water Shock

Then I retired to the sofa and had Prosecco and sushi and apparently zonked out at about 9pm and slept for 13 hours Blush I feel so much better today though!

QuimReaper · 20/11/2016 11:02

Also Beyond if you can't have cake and custard when you're fresh out of surgery when can you?! I'm surprised at your wanting to stay for lunch though, when my Dad was in hospital earlier this year the food did not look appetising at all...

SpuriouserAndSpuriouser · 20/11/2016 11:34

Well done everyone who has lost weight!

Beyond I was going to say, I work in a hospital and the food doesn't ever look particularly great! But glad your surgery went well Smile

Quim glad you are feeling better, you must have needed that sleep!

I am off out for Sunday lunch this afternoon, so I am trying to keep the rest of my meals light today. Unfortunately I baked some ginger biscuits yesterday and a couple just sort of fell into my mouth..

BeyondTheHarpy · 20/11/2016 12:00

Usually I'd agree, but I love a treat to a mushy Sunday dinner Grin

BitOutOfPractice · 20/11/2016 13:08

We went to Wahaca the Mexican street food place. It was my Dsis birthday on Friday and she was in London for the weekend for the theatre so we went up to surprise her. Even dd1 deigned to come so it was really lovely. And she was completely amazed.

I didn't overdo the food but when we got home, in order to just have something small, we chose dips and chips and wine. Hmm

Lubilu28 · 21/11/2016 09:35

Good morning everyone, well down 4 1/4lbs this week 😱 Don't know how I've managed it, it was our local towns light switch on and I treated myself to a crepe with Nutella and banana, had to get 1 out of my 5 a day in there haha. only 2 1/2lbs to go before the end of the month now so very happy :D!! But af is literally around the corner and then next weekend going for afternoon tea for a friends birthday so will have to Pull some magic tricks if I am to lose these 2lbs!!

QuimReaper · 21/11/2016 09:54

Wowzers Lubi that's amazing! Well done!

BOOP that sounds like a lovely evening! I had pizza and wine yesterday so no judgment here. It was all I had though, so...

How you getting on Beyond?

HairsprayBabe · 21/11/2016 10:05

bounced back up to 12.9 this morning I assume that is my punishment for the wines on Saturday.

White bean and roasted vegetable bake for dinner tonight, a v small portion see if I get get back to 12.7 & which was a shock! Then maybe a little more before the end of the month, to try and start December as close to 12st as possible!

BeyondTheHarpy · 21/11/2016 10:35

I'm good, thanks for asking :) Home now and on strict orders of bedrest, so I didn't have chance to weigh this morning before being served breakfast in bed Wink

Back on the wagon though 100%, as I'm massively crediting my recent weight loss and the small amount of exercise I have been doing on why I have bounced back so quickly

BitOutOfPractice · 21/11/2016 16:56

Sorry to barge in without reading back. But oh oh oh I have just bought a size 12 dress!!!

Hope everyone is ok

BeyondTheHarpy · 21/11/2016 17:00

Woohoo! 🎉🎉

QuimReaper · 21/11/2016 20:01

HOORAAAAAAAAY BOOP fantastic work! Grin Grin

QuimReaper · 21/11/2016 20:03

Fairly good day here: clocked just under 10km and swam the usual 48 on miniscule niblets of food, so feeling virtuous!

I am loving the image of you lying in bed being waited on Beyond, quite right too Grin

Hairspray that sounds delicious, fancy sharing the recipe? When we FINALLY have a kitchen again I'm keen to get more veggie dishes into my repertoire.

HairsprayBabe · 21/11/2016 20:31

It is super easy I am high fat low carb so it isnt much good if you are doing ww or sw any way feeds 4 or 2 hungry people

1 pepper
2 red shallots
3 big tomatos
1 courgette
1 tin butter beans or canillini beans
Cheese
Mixed herbs
2 tbsp oil

Chop the pepper courgette and shallots into chunks, toss in oil and herbs roast in a casaarole dish for 20 mins at 180 fan.

Add in the beans and chopped tomatos stir and back into the oven for 10 mins

Top with cheese approx 30gms per person, more if your calories allow it. Pop back in the oven till golden, yum.

Am just checking in for some inspiration. Feeling like a big fat failure. I've been dieting for 4 weeks and lost 2 kilos in the first 2 weeks and hardly anything in the last 2.

It seems like whenever I have a good few days i sabotage it by having a crappy one. So I had two good days at the weekend with mostly healthy food and came in under my allowance both days in spite of having roast lamb on Sunday!

Then today I had porridge for breakfast then ate junk all afternoon, then a nice healthy supper. I was at least not over my maintenance calories so I suppose it could be worse. But where is my willpower? Wah! My plan is to try to plan more and have healthy food in the fridge for lunches and snacks - I made a tuna and bean salad the other week, might make some hummus and some soup. Tomorrow is a clean slate!

HairsprayBabe · 22/11/2016 08:48

Bad morning, was very good yesterday and have still gone up 12.10 again... not sure what is happening.
I think my scales hate me.

QuimReaper · 22/11/2016 08:58

Right. Chin UP missy, we are playing a long and confusing game here with a scoring system more incomprehensible than QI's, and the only rule we have is that we don't give up! Having an off-day isn't giving up or failing: it's slipping off the wagon slightly, and the only, only sensible response to that happening (it will happen, it happens to every single one of us) is to brush it off and get straight back on.

2kg in 2 weeks is spectacular, and I think you should be thrilled with yourself for that! If you read back over the thread you'll see all sorts of stalls, inexplicable gains, inexplicable losses, sudden "whooshes" - you just need to cling to what you've achieved so far until the Scale Lord decides to honour you with another loss Wink

FWIW I have more or less pre-designated "good days" and "bad days", and I'm still losing (veeeery sloooowly). I only feel bad when a "good day" goes south, so I do know how you feel, but please don't think you need to be Pollyanna-Perfect 100% of the time to see a loss: it simply isn't true, and if you don't give yourself a pass from time to time you're likely to fling yourself off the wagon so hard you'll be scared of getting back on it.

Be kind to yourself. Keep at it and keep posting here, even just to brag about a good food-day or an exercise win, that's what we're here for Brew

BitOutOfPractice · 22/11/2016 10:19

Quim is wise and spit on.

My scales are also playing silly beggars with me.

I will be golden today. I will.

BitOutOfPractice · 22/11/2016 10:31

*spot Confused

MountainDweller · 22/11/2016 12:45

Thank you QuimReaper (and Bit) you are quite right of course. I think I was buoyed up by the good loss in the first two weeks and too easily knocked back by the second two. And it is going to be a very long game for me so I really have to get used to the ups and downs of the scale gods.

Scales today are showing a 0.7kg loss over the last two weeks which is not awful I guess. Onwards!

Porridge for breakfast today and hm shepherds pie planned for dinner with leftover lamb. Going to rummage in freezer for soup for lunch and then go out so I'm not tempted to snack!

BitOutOfPractice · 22/11/2016 12:54

Yes mountain. Keep going. It's the only way. Grind through the weeks. You'll get there.

I've had a bagel with Philly for breakfast. And I've got done home made parsnip and lentil soup for lunch. I'm going to drag an M&S ready meal out of the freezer for tonight as there's just me for dinner. I picked some ip revived to £2 last week when I popped in close to closing time. Result!

BeyondTheHarpy · 22/11/2016 13:08

Koko mountain Brew apparently it's very common for weight to come off great in the first two weeks then stall a bit in weeks 3 and 4. So take it as a sign that your plan is working, not as a sign that it isn't :) and people successfully use weight with only alternate fasting/regular eating, so that proves that off days are okay so long as the majority are 'on' days

Howlongtillbedtime · 23/11/2016 08:36

Good morning all !

I have been AWOL with a stinky cold and was getting to the point of giving up and never stepping on the scales again .

However I braved it this morning and I have lost another pound . So that is 6 pounds this month . fingers crossed I can get the other one gone this week .

I am going to have a read through in a min but just wanted to say hi Grin
