New thread for a new week

OP posts:
suejonezisdanielsmummy · 01/02/2007 11:34

Yes - she was 30 mns late and stayed about 20 mins. It was the same one who asked me about my sex life before if you remember. Very nice but mad as a fish.

Nothing really happened all she did was fill a form in and ask if I wanted a buddy! She visits once a week for 4 weeks then they do a review and visit around every 6-8 weeks until he is legally readopted in this country.

JackieNo · 01/02/2007 11:37

I do remember that one, sue - 20 minutes doesn't sound too bad. So what's the timescale for Daniel being legally readopted in this country? Months? Years? (I do hope not years, but having seen what you've had to deal with in the way of red tape, I wouldn't be too surprised to hear it).

suejonezisdanielsmummy · 01/02/2007 11:42

There's some discussion about whether I can apply after being home 6 months or 12 (new rules that no-one seesm to unerstand) then court can take up to another 6 months. Until then I cannot get him a UK passport so holiday will be strictly UK.

JackieNo · 01/02/2007 11:48

Blimey - so it is likely to be at least a year, if not going on for 2. You'll be seeing her a fair few times then.

WigWamBam · 01/02/2007 11:52

Good lord - even now the red tape doesn't stop. Another year?

OP posts:
Dottydot · 01/02/2007 11:59

Sue - thanks, yes I'm still here, but just feeling really rubbish. But I'm going to WW tonight (not been for 2 weeks) - more as a kind of punishment. I reckon I've put about 5lbs on recently - i can still fit in my clothes, but they're tight... I'm so cross with myself - how can I have done so well, and then blow it??

Jackie - I didn't watch the Christopher Brookmyre telly thing on purpose - James Nesbitt is lovely but just not right!!

littlemisssensible · 01/02/2007 12:37

Blimey Sue,
My admiration increases ten fold! I think I'd have given up yonks ago!

I thought the red tape from HMI was dire but they're at least quicker than that! (Mind you that might have something to do with them getting their hands on your money )

I hope it's only 6 months and that it all goes through smoothly and quickly for you and Daniel (he looks such a poppet!)

Littlefish · 01/02/2007 13:14

Boooooo Hisssssssss. I've put on a pound! Knew I would though.

Dottydot - you have to keep posting. I managed to post for 8 months without even considering losing weight! I just came for the chat, support and like-minded people. It was fab.

I love the picture of your boys taken from behind. Just lovely.

SJ - We stayed in a great house in Cornwall (Penzance) last year on holiday . About 10 minutes away from some incredible beaches on the north coast. Let me know if you want the details - I'd definitely recommend it.

Littlemisssensible - so glad your stressful time is over.

Mrs JC - not long now - just keep chanting it! Wow, our second MoFo baby! We are going to be cyber-aunts all over again.

Fauve · 01/02/2007 13:39

I'm on that India Knight forum already, MrsJC - that's a big part of the attraction! I have put on again this week (pre-new-diet), so starting is timely. I think doing something completely different will be interesting if nothing else.

Dottydot, you can't possibly beat yourself up when you've only just been diagnosed as coeliac - it'll take you a while to adjust. Be nice to yourself!

I have to say that I rather like that Esporta ad on the right of this thread - more inspiring than Johnnie Boden, eh?

hub2dee · 01/02/2007 13:47

Can't believe Daniel rates those noisy keys, wwb... what is the world coming to, huh ?

Hi everyone. Suspicious by my absence, I've not been to ww for possibly 6 - 8 weeks now. THe group leader left and we didn't click with the new one... DW has seen the light and is no-sugar / health kick... need to get my act in gear, have put on several £s.

Welcome back Sue.

WigWamBam · 01/02/2007 13:54

See? I told you all along ... plastic beepy toys are the dog's whatsits

Where the divil have you been, Hub? Haven't seen you around in ages.

OP posts:
hub2dee · 01/02/2007 13:57

I am semi-history. I am extricating myself from the web that is MN. I am a fleeting vision.

WigWamBam · 01/02/2007 14:01

You can't go!

Too many nice people have gone already; at this rate we'll be stuck with nobody but the moggellers, sellers, and Big Brother addicts for company; you can't do that to us.

OP posts:
hub2dee · 01/02/2007 14:03

'Tis my time I fear, LOL. Yes, there has been some 'harmonisation towards the average'... but you paint a scary picture, toadie...

Fauve · 01/02/2007 14:05

Yes, but WWB, they always come back.

WigWamBam · 01/02/2007 14:08

Some of them don't come back though, Fauve. And so the concentration of nice, funny, intelligent, supportive posters goes down.

Actually, the thought of MN overrun by moggellers and BB fans is quite a scary picture, isn't it. There's a definite dumbing-down thang going on. MN has certainly changed in the couple of years I've been here - and not all for the better.

Still can't quite manage to unstick myself from it's web though. Keep threatening to, but can't ever manage it.

Will miss you if you decide you're off though, Hub.

OP posts:
hub2dee · 01/02/2007 14:08

I'll pop in now and again for a cup of apple juice, Fauve.

hub2dee · 01/02/2007 14:11

Thanks toadie... it has 'gotten' more repetitive and less stimulating, and RL is what we must return to at the end of the day.

WigWamBam · 01/02/2007 14:13

Yep, definitely more repetitive and less stimulating.

Still can't quite shake those ties though ... although I don't post anywhere near as often as I once did.

OP posts:
hub2dee · 01/02/2007 14:17

Not givign a hoot what's being posted can be rather blissful, not having any threads you're on to check etc...

Bet you're looking forward to Spring... we've got little pokey things coming up everywhere.

JackieNo · 01/02/2007 14:18

hub. We don't want to hear about your little pokey things

.

WigWamBam · 01/02/2007 14:23

The little poky things in our garden are already in flower ... Spring seems to have sprung a bit early, I think!

Jackie, if you think the little poky things are worrying, you should have seen the magnificent 10-inchers Hub gave me once ...

OP posts:
hub2dee · 01/02/2007 14:25

You're all a bunch of degenerates.

WigWamBam · 01/02/2007 14:26

You've only just noticed?!

OP posts:
Fauve · 01/02/2007 14:29

I certainly hope you do nip back to see us, Hub. Otherwise we'll have to talk about you in your absence.
