New thread for a new week

OP posts:
suejonezisdanielsmummy · 31/01/2007 15:53

WWB have weighed a day early as Boots scales were working an I was in the neighbourhood. Will email you. Obviously my weight loss is for the last three months so won;t really count until next week when I reweigh for the first time.

JackieNo · 31/01/2007 18:04

Best of luck for tomorrow, sue - you'll have plenty to talk about, won't you.

So are you not going to tell us what sort of result you had when you weighed? I'm all agog to find out (sorry - just nosey, I guess). I reckon that even if you'd been eating exactly the same as you would at home, the extra exercise of carrying Daniel everywhere would burn off some calories.

suejonezisdanielsmummy · 31/01/2007 21:34

No am going to remain silent to keep you in suspense a litle longer. The trick will be to keep it off - bloody butter. Just had crumpets dripping with butter. Have decided Daniel will have to go without butter. What alternative can I spread on his toast that tastes nice that I don;t fancy? maybe it will have to be dry toast - he drops most of it anyway, its just to keep his hands occupied during feeding...

suejonezisdanielsmummy · 31/01/2007 21:35

but unlovely cleaner didn;t turn up...

JackieNo · 31/01/2007 21:55

Noooo - I want to know. Doubt I'll have lost anything, yet again. Haven't lost anything since Christmas.

Agree maybe don't bother with butter then. Marmite? Umm, olive oil (not sure that qualifies as tasting nice whe it's on bread, anyway)? Or just leave the toast plain - easier to clean him and his surroundings up then.

at your cleaner.

Fauve · 31/01/2007 22:05

I wish I'd got my two on to pesto, as a Greek friend of mine did. Of course mine wouldn't dream of trying it now. It's healthy stuff to spread, though.

Lovely to have you back on here, Suejonez You were much missed.

suejonezisdanielsmummy · 31/01/2007 22:11

It's lovely to be back Fauve.

Will stick to bare bread for him - he gest enough fat in other things I think. Tried him on full fat greek yoghurt today and he likes it - am slowly adding new foods as I am getting bored with organix rice cakes and Hipp baby food. He isn;t but I am...

suejonezisdanielsmummy · 31/01/2007 22:11

I'm going to make some hummus tomorrow and try him on that

littlemisssensible · 31/01/2007 22:21

Hurrah!

Its all over for another year! I'm on augar high after copious amounts of sweet tea, biccies, cake and at close of business a bucks fizz! Don't think my weigh in will be particularly brilliant this week!

MrsJohnCusack · 31/01/2007 22:22

thanks for gradual withdrawal suggestion Jackie - that's kind of what I'm doing. managed to get her back to sleep in 20 minutes last night sitting just outside the open door instead of inside...she still got up too early and is knackered but it's a bit better (Me - I'm a wreck - takes me at least an hour to get back to sleep).

sue - I thought you'd have lost a lot - waiting with bated breath. Will give us all a kick up the proverbial - AND remind us that it's cumulative weight loss that matters and not every week's fretted over scrimped and saved pound or so. Will be a good illustration to us I think. Also, we don't have any butter now, DD is perfectly happy with just marmite/philadelphia/jam on her toast/crumpets (DH takes some convincing though). He'll be fine, they don't need butter.

I think that I will have put on a max of about 1.5 stones with this pregnancy which on the whole I am pleased with (it might be a bit less as some of is water retention that comes and goes). If this baby is anywhere near DD's size a lot of that weight will go overnight. Then it'll be operation Not Stuffing My Face whilst breastfeeding. May be on here a lot...

littlemisssensible · 31/01/2007 22:23

Its good to se you back Sue, my dd always enjoyed hummus!

MrsJohnCusack · 31/01/2007 22:25

oh took me ages to type that....half of it's a bit irrelevant now
congrats littlemisssensible. what a relief

suejonezisdanielsmummy · 31/01/2007 22:25

Hope you are lurking "with" us not "at" us Dotty.

Why are you feeling guilty?

suejonezisdanielsmummy · 31/01/2007 22:27

Oh and Dotty I love Chrostopher Brookmyre and read running with scissors in Alamty - can you beleive someone left it behind in the flat I rented! Thought it was a bit wierd though.

Love these profiles - must make mine a bit more interesting.

Dottydot · 31/01/2007 22:28

Yes - I want to see photos, Sue!

Am lurking 'cos am thoroughly ashamed of how rubbish I'm being at the moment. Can't even pretend to be trying to be good...

Will post more tomorrow.

Fauve · 01/02/2007 09:26

Love your photos, Dottydot - aw!

Mock me if you will, but I've started India Knight's new diet - it's low-carb, which will fit in with dh being coeliac - he can't eat most carbs anyway. It's been hell with me being low-fat and him being virtually no-carb - you can imagine how little food we've had in common. Anyway, I'm going to give it a go, and hope it'll get me off this interminable plateau I'm on. It's no exaggeration to say I've been on it for months.

schneebly · 01/02/2007 09:37

hi guys - sorry I havent been around (damn Pipex!!!) Hopefully we are fully up and running again now!

Welcome back Sue! We missed you on here!

MrsJohnCusack · 01/02/2007 09:38

I won't mock Fauve - looks quite interesting to me, still not sure if I could stick it as a veggie though.
Have you seen they've started a forum up on their blog site? Might be useful to you if you haven't already seen it/joined.

I am having a funny sort of day . lots and lots of what I presume are braxton hicks, baby seems SO far down, v.uncomfortable. It will all come to nothing though

littlemisssensible · 01/02/2007 10:59

Hi everyone,

Well, as predicted, the cakes, biccies and sugary tea have taken their toll! (I don't think the bl@*dy big Baileys and the bucks fizz helped either)

I've put on 2 lb this week .

Still, returns are over so I can now get back to thinking about what I'm eating instead of just shovelling the first thing available in my mouth!

I've been reading profiles and looking at piccies too! You all have such gorgeous children!!!!

I've added some of mine, though I've limited viewing to mumsnet friends (I think !)so if you can't see them let me know!

JackieNo · 01/02/2007 11:11

Littlemisssensible - don't beat yourself up about it - you got through a difficult time, and 2lb isn't really a huge amount. I think you really earned that celebration, too. Your pics are gorgeous too. Still haven't found where on the computer DH has hidden ours, so havent' even tried to put any on...

JackieNo · 01/02/2007 11:16

Oh, and MrsJC - hope the gradual withdrawal-ish thing carries on working - I can cope with so much more if I've had a halfway decent night's sleep.

Dottydot - another Christopher Brookmyre fan here too. Did you see 'Quite Ugly One Morning' when they did it on television, with James Nesbitt? Didn't quite work for me. Brookmyre has a brilliant turn of phrase, doesn't he, which obviously doesn't come through very well on television.

suejonezisdanielsmummy · 01/02/2007 11:24

Didn't know they's televised one of them.

Have put some photos on but think you've probably seen them all on the website.

Schneebly - how the course going?

LMS - putting on 2lb durin one of your most stressful times of year seems OK to me - you not going to stay the same weight all the time, thats not realistic.

Doesn;t matter if you;re not really trying Dotty - you are still a bigmofo and should stay to chat. We've all done it from time to time. It's not the biggest sin in the world to eat too much - despite what we all seem to think.

JackieNo · 01/02/2007 11:26

Sue - have you had the social worker supervisory visit - did it go OK?

littlemisssensible · 01/02/2007 11:32

Thanx JackieNo!

Not much beating up going on here! We're all too emphoric (sp?) after all the returns went in successfully! The HMI website was grindingly slow yesterday but the last few were posted without a hitch, although I was a gibbering wreck by 5pm!

I'm sort of on a high and feeling I can conquer the world, and possibly even my weight problem!!! It won't last!

I'm keeping fingers crossed for you too MrsJC. I did get to a point where I'd had so little sleep that dh had to physically restrain me in our room whilst he dealt with her but the slow withdrawing thing helped a great deal, and eventually sorted her out! She'd just got into the habit of waking up and having mum to talk/cuddle with! Once that wasn't on offer, she soon stopped waking up! Nearly did for me though!!!!
