Thanks jonty I can't believe it Grin I never thought I'd ever be able to lose a stone, I didn't think I had the will power. I'm noticing a few differences, my belt has to be done up a notch smaller and 2 pairs of jeans that were bit tight fit really well. I can tell my stomach is smaller too, when I lay down or stand up straight the very bottom of my ribs are noticeable.

When I've lost another pound or two I think I'm going to treat myself to a chippy tea and possibly a can of coke. I've not had either all year, thing is now I'll feel super hungry but when I eat my main meal I get full much more quickly than I used to.

Thanks Alec I haven't got one really I don't think. I'm sticking to my calories (1250) I work out what I'll be eating for the day every morning and log it all into MFP then I'll know what calories I have left over throughout the day so if I feel a bit peckish and fancy a snack (I always factor in a cup of tea for about 9pm with 2 Jaffa Cakes that's my daily treat) I can have one and log it and know that it's within my calories. I've swapped white bread and normal rice/past for wholemeal, I'm drinking more water (I never drank any before) cut out all fizzy drinks, cakes, takeaways and I don't have mashed potato on week days because I could quite happily eat that every day Grin I enjoy it even more now that I only have it with my Sunday roast. I weigh food too, I think portion size makes the biggest difference I weigh butter, rice, pasta and meat. If I've logged say 1000 calories come 8pm including tea and jaffa cakes I won't eat anything else to make up the other 250 calories if I'm not hungry but I have found that some days when I eat on or closer to the 1250cals I notice the scales drop the next day which is odd. Hmm
I not a very active person as I work from home and I haven't been doing any additional exercise yet. If you are exercising maybe the scales aren't moving as quick because you are gaining muscle as you are losing fat?

Weighed in this morning and just over 10st, scales showed 10.04. Struggling to keep under the magical 10st!!! Though have done a 6 mile walk today, hopefully that's melted a few calories!! Got a review at the gym next week, so hoping my measurements have reduced at least!

Hi!

Can I join you? I've been using MFP for the last week after losing 3 stone at Slimming World and then coming to a halt. So after 6 months of losing and gaining the same 1lb I took a break from S/W and did a bit of binge eating Hmmbefore deciding to take it into my own hands and calorie count.

I weighed 10st 2lb (up from 9st 11) on Monday, my daily calorie allowance is 1200 plus exercise calories, I've used the extras a few times. I'm actually coping much better than I thought I would, planning my meals the day before has helped me stay on track, however next week I'm back to work after half term so I'm not sure how that will go.

Today I struggled to use my 1200, I had KFC pulled chicken rice box for 370 calories which was good - I enjoyed it and didn't long for the fried chicken.

Welcome Camden wow well done on the 3st loss that's brilliant, I'd love to lose 3st I have lost 1st so far this year so only 2 more to go. How long did it take to lose 3st? Grin

Hi,

The first stone came off within six weeks but it got slower from there on it was 10 months to lose the 3 stone then I just stopped losing, I was consuming an awful amount of food though - I was probably hitting 1200 calories just on fruit.

I did consider Weight Watchers as I believed that I needed something more controlled than Slimming World, but I'd rather save the £££ each week and get there on my own.

I'm trying to get a list of low calorie goods together, I've been checking everything and some calorie counts are shocking!

Tomorrow I'll have fruit & tea for breakfast, soup & yogurt at lunch and dinner will be 2 weight watcher sausages 200g baby new potatoes, lots of veg and gravy, I'm upping my water intake everyday which is good, I do still drink about 3 cups of tea each day though. Asda go caramel rice cakes (41 cal each) so they will be good snacks during the day Grin

Just checking in. Must your doing amazing, keep it up.
The last few days haven't been great, it seems catching up with friends that I haven't seen for ages all happened this week. So lunch out on Thursday and dinner and then dinner out last night again too!! I've done body pump twice and combat twice so I'm hoping that keeps any gain at bay. I can feel myself slipping into picking again so need to sort my shit out again!!

Room for another one?

I started 5:2, 6 weeks ago. And after 4 weeks only lost 2lbs so I decided to consult a dietician as I have always struggled to lose any weight and I have PCOS.

Dietician has given me a meal plan to follow based on a food diary I kept before my consultation. The idea being to tweak what I was eating normally but making some adjustments, and to not count calories....

Following this I have been keeping track on MFP exactly what I have been eating. I am on around 1200-1400 per day. So far so good but I am so used to not being able to lose weight I'm worried I'm not going to.

I am 5ft 9 and started the week at 13st 7lb. My target is 11st 11lb.

Hi everyone, just checking in. Weighed myself this morning and the scales said 10 stone 1.5. I've had a pretty good week, stuck to my 1200 on most days and def haven't had any blow-outs or bingeing. I've also completed an exercise class every day mon-fri (pump, balance, combat etc) so for me this has been a great week. Nothing lost on the scales though, but I'm trying to remember the 10 day lag you mentioned!

It's so inspiring reading about the losses though, you ladies are awesome. Well done! I'm noting your menu ideas, soup especially is such a good call.

Hoping to have lost something next Sunday. Have a great week everyone!

Ooh can i join?

I've lost nearly 4 stone so far but I'm struggling now. Started at 18.10 and currently 14.13. Have been using mfp since January but I've had a week off work and I've just stuffed my face all bluddy week.

Can't seem to get to 4 stone off, and depressingly I can't even tell I've lost any weight. Need some more motivation!

Morning all, have gained 1.5lbs after a nightmare week where food was a second thought, which in our house means too much bread and pre-made food. Updated MFP to show the gain and it's taken me straight out of maintenance and put me back down to 1700 calories a day, to lose the small gain. I love MFP, it's so clear about what you need to do when!

Hello all. Thanks for the wave a week or two ago Not2b. Have been so naughty I couldn't bear to open up thread for last few weeks. But just read from start to finish - everyone done / doing amazingly. May muster the courage to weigh-in tomorrow, but it won't be good Blush.

But on a positive note, it is monday, and I found a veg soup in the freezer to have for my lunch today.

Waves hi Bath! nice to see you. Better to step up and face the gain for a fresh start Flowers

Welcome to all the new people too, nice to have you with us!

I'm still maintaining and increasing my exercise. I've been doing kettlercise and really loving it, it's great to see my strength increase. Also bought the insanity workout! I did the fitness test this evening and that was pretty tough, going for the full programme on wednesday or thursday.

Tricky week this week! Out tomorrow for a meal for work with some clients and then on the weekend my sister and two good friends are coming to stay, two nights out! going to be dead come monday Grin

I've really been enjoying life recently, instead of being miserable about family problems and my boyfriend being away i decided to embrace the people i have around me and making the most of the time before i move back in with him again. Don't get me wrong, i love living with him but it's all too easy for me to get wrapped up in 'us' and not make enough time for my friends

Gosh it has been so long since I posted this thread fell off my threads I'm on list!

Just plodding along doing about 1600 per day on average and maintaining one lb one way or the other which is perfect really. Not feeling even a tiny bit deprived. Need to up my exercise a bit for better all round wellness but I plan to eat any exercise calories back.

Jonty I hope this week improves for you. I think weighing every day is the key - I can realise I have gained as soon as I do and FIX it straight away

Hey everyone,

Just wondering do you all exercise? I work full time, 4 children varying ages, demanding husband Hmm who works away a lot and the most exercise I can manage is a dog walk in the late afternoon. No way could I fit in any kind of class, due to time and childcare, I leave home at 7:30am so it's not possible to fit in in before work either. Weekends are family time.

This house is always a bit manic with people, in the late afternoon/evening but I could try a DVD ( I've got savings fit in 5 still in the wrapper) but it'd have to be very early in the morning.

I know that I do need to up my exercise but it's just finding a way to fit it in, I could always give up work Grin but then I wouldn't have the money for the gym.. Smile

Morning all. Thanks Stewards and hello Bath! Didn't weigh this morning as had to go to stables at 5 as husband had early meeting in London. Went over planned calories by about 300 too, just needed the extra fuel. Trying again today although I've had about three hours sleep so might be a struggle 🙄

No loss for me this week Sad
I've gone over a few times by 200 but nothing major. I have been getting a bit lapse with weighing again though so that's a wake up call I needed!!
Today is a new day!

Yes I exercise Camden, I try for 3-4 time a week plus a daily dog walk.
It's made a huge difference to my figure despite not losing every week my clothes fit better and I feel more confident. Try a DVD at home, the charlotte Crosby 3 minute belly blast is good as you can just do a few 3 minutes sets if your short on time. I do mine in the kitchen when DD is eating sometimes, she has been known to join in too!! I get how hard it is to squeeze in though. It's so much better for my head too as its a bit stress buster! X

Please can I join you ladies. I found this thread in November and read back through to the very first post. I found it hugely motivating and lost 10lbs, then Christmas got in the way and it really threw me off. I'm hoping that becoming a poster rather than lurker will help me be more accountable for my slip ups.
My current weight is 13st 9lbs and I'd love to get to 10st 7. My aim is to stick to 12/1300 cals a day.
My motivation is I don't want to look like a frumpy mummy any more, I'm wearing clothes I don't like that are not at all fashionable but are all that fit. I refuse to buy anything new as I don't want to be this size any more.
Onwards and downwards....

Welcome panda
I'm still at 9.13.5 today, thankfully it hasn't gone up. I can't run at all at the moment due to time needed for poorly horse, so my body feels sluggish and yuck. Have another full-on day, going to have porridge and a boiled egg for breakfast to set me up and then go from there. Have baby's christening Sunday and would like to drop a pound again before then!!!

Hello Panda. You will definitely get there if you stick to the calories!

Sorry your horse isn't better Jonty. Is your business something horsey too? - or would you rather not say?

I am 9st 11.5 today

I ate salty chips for lunch yesterday and then ice cream after dinner... a miracle that I haven't gained after that!

I need some inspiration for dinner... something with rice perhaps.... goes to rummage in the cupboard

I went shopping yesterday and spent a fortune on underwear. This is my new passion, I think. Matching undies! Also had to stop myself from buying everything I tried on, just because it was a size 8 or 10! Who cares what it looks like? It is size 8 and it fits!
