Welcome Panda I was a lurker over Christmas, read every post in the first 3 threads and it really motivated me to start eating better in the new year. I'm 1 stone down since 4th January just sticking to 1200 calories.

Hope your horse gets better soon Jonty Flowers

Ha Steward if I ended up being able to fit into a size 8 I would be buying all the undies too Grin

Pretty miffed this morning, just realised I haven't weighed myself, this is the first time I've forgotten since 4th Jan, I've not eaten yet but I have had a shower and I'm sure waist length wet hair would add to the weight so it's too late now. Sad

Anyone know how Not2b is getting on? She said she was joining another thread but I don't know which one.

Bathsheba3 · 24/02/2016 11:00

Amazing loss Stewards - and wow on the undies too !!!!! Damn good for you.

So impressed you are still in the 9's Jonty. Hope your horse gets better soon too. You are still such a lark .... I was debating breakfast this morning, and you inspired me to have porridge.

Welcome Panda. Post away. Really does help to be focussed, and be accountable. Everyone are a great support. A stone this year already Must - bloody amazing, if you don't mind me saying so.

Yes - also wondering about Not2b - please come back !!!

Bathsheba3 · 24/02/2016 11:16

So, I have lost 1lb already since Monday. But please, no congrats. It is only the initial stuff that is so easily lost to start, but so easily gained back too. I'm back in the 12's. Gutted. I've just written a v long post - but deleted it. Lots of excuses blah blah blah woe me. Enough. We need more positive stuff - and stories of sexy undies and size 8's. Spanks for me still for the time being Wink

PandaBear30 · 24/02/2016 18:27

Thanks for all the welcomes.
Stewards - size 8, wow! Shopping must be such a pleasure. What was your starting size and weight if you don't mind me asking?
Must - a stone is great going. Can't wait to have my first one off (it will happen!)
I've had a fairly good day foodwise. Breakfast - porridge & banana, Lunch - Soup and a small bread roll, Dinner - will be salmon salad and I've had fruit and a yoghurt for snacks.

Not2bObvious · 24/02/2016 18:41

I'm here I'm here! Aww you guys, thanks for remembering meFlowers
Ok what I've been up to. I was seriously seriously hacked off with the yo-yo weight loss/gain over the last few months really years Very much considering accepting that I'm meant to be 12 stone'ish, I mean I gave up drink/choc/crisps for lent and gained 4/5lb ffs! Anyway long story long, I read the Michael Mosley book about the blood sugar diet and there's an 8 week plan of 800 calories a day. I'm doing 4 weeks of it. I'm now on day 2 of week 2 and I'm down from 12.2.6 to 11.9.8 - 6.8 down in 8 days. It's tough in some ways and surprisingly easy in others!
Anyway guys, cheering you all on - keeping an eye on you all, keep it up 😘

MustBeThin · 24/02/2016 19:09

Good to hear your doing well Not2b how could we forget you? 😁 6lb is amazing you must be thrilled. Keep us updated, don't be a stranger. 😘

You will lose that first stone Panda I never thought I'd be able to lose half a stone never mind a full stone but I did it and I'm so pleased with myself. Smile

Bathsheba3 · 25/02/2016 07:57

11's Not2 Star. Sounds hardcore, but 1 week down already. I think 4-weeks deprivation real focus is a great way to go. Keep it up. You'll be skipping around in the 10's soon.

Another 1 lb down today. Still in the 12s here. Considering I was 11 11 (or less?) a month ago I'm only re-doing the undone. Frustrating it is too.

StewardsEnquiry · 25/02/2016 08:16

Hi Not2! I think mixing it up slightly sometimes is a really good way of forcing the body out of a lull. Glad you are losing.

Panda I was 13.8 and size 14 to start with in July last year.

MustBeThin · 25/02/2016 08:31

You'll be back in the 11's in not time Bath I'm desperate to reach the 11's too not been there for about 6 years. Still 12st 7 this morning but it still keeps swaying to the 6.

You are my Thinspiration Grin Steward my starting weight was 13st 7, I can't imagine being your new weight it must be amazing and now I know it's possible for me to get down to that if I stick at it.

StewardsEnquiry · 25/02/2016 09:57

Aw thanks MustBe. I couldn't have believed I would be anyone's thinspiration a few months ago! You are doing so well, you will be here in no time. The time does actually fly.

I had a lot of salt yesterday and am up to 9.13 today. I am being careful today because I don't ever want a weight starting with 10 again, so this is my weight ceiling.

I might get a bit of exercise later today though so that will help.

wispaxmas · 25/02/2016 20:44

Wow, Not2b! That's seriously good loss for 8 days, crazy! I hope the 4 weeks gets you through your fed-up-ness. 800 calories a day was what I was eating when I was ill, no way could I keep that up for a month, though!

wispaxmas · 25/02/2016 20:47

Hi all, down 1.1kg this week. I'm tempted to try to convert it to stones and lbs so I can see how I compare....

wispaxmas · 25/02/2016 20:52

Right. 13 stone 2.3 lbs apparently. So, maybe I should look at getting to the 12s as my first goal, at least that seems achievable Grin

PandaBear30 · 25/02/2016 23:05

Not2b that's a great loss and now well into the 11's, always nice getting into the next stone bracket.
Stewards that's an amazing loss. Well done you. Any top tips?
Today started well had porridge for breakfast and soup for lunch but had dinner out this evening and didn't choose particularly wisely. Will make up for it tomorrow by having a soup day of no more than 1000 cals.

SmillasSenseOfSnow · 26/02/2016 04:36

I feel like I have a confession to make - these days I measure myself primarily in kg and convert to stones for the purposes of sharing info with you guys (and relatives). So no-one need feel like a weirdo for not 'doing' imperial weights!

I'm back on the wagon (since three days ago) because I've now got the biggest weight loss deadline ever... we've decided we're getting married in July (as long as we can get the date we want). So now I'm terrified of having a pudgy little pot belly in my dress. Need to get serious!

JontyDoggle37 · 26/02/2016 06:38

Smillas congratulations!!! What's your goal to get to by the wedding and how far have you got to get there?
I'm back down a pound to 9.12.5, which is great, as I have a super full on day today with meetings and travel which will mean I need extra food fuel!

Bathsheba3 · 26/02/2016 07:28

Congrats Smillas. Well, if that isn't an incentive! Hope today goes well Jonty

StewardsEnquiry · 26/02/2016 09:15

Wispa that is a really great loss this week. Well done you!

Smillas congratulations SmileFlowers

Errr my top tips:

  1. weigh every day. Especially if you have had a bad few days and you suspect a gain.
  2. log every single thing you eat. Weigh it all. I personally am lazy so I eat a lot of packaged food so the calories are already worked out of me but anything else I weigh.
  3. if you eat out a lot try to see the menu before you go and make a decision what you will order at a time when you are not hungry. This will help you to not order something calorific just because you are starving!
  4. soup days to balance out heavier days
  5. Hello Fresh meals are expensive but also come with a calorie count worked out per portion so good for lazy me
  6. weigh yourself every day
Not2bObvious · 26/02/2016 09:20

Another little check in. I'm rarely sticking to 800, usually around a 1000 but managing to get my 10,000 steps in a day. I'm now down to 11.8.2 - down 8.4 since I started 11 days ago. Drinking lots & lots of water, no bread/potato/pasta/rice or obvious sugar bar 1 or 2 teaspoons in porridge until I weaned myself off. Also cut porridge down to every other day, only 20gr topped up with full fat Greek yogurt & berries. I feel good and am happy to go on for the next 2.5 weeks. After that I think I can eat more. Well done all for keeping going, happy Friday

MustBeThin · 26/02/2016 09:29

Good morning! Well done on the losses Wispa and Jonty

Congratulations Smillas

Still bloody 12st 7 been stuck for 6 days, I think it might be because I've been eating round 1100cals or less, I have noticed that if I eat low I don't really see much movement but when I eat almost or all of my 1250cals I see a drop the next day which is pretty strange. Hmm

Yesterday I had toast for breakfast, then I got clobbered into going into McDonald's (haven't been anywhere near the place this year) I just ordered a grilled bbq chicken wrap with water which is 300+ cals, it was vile I had a bad one last year and presumed it was a one off but this was a different McDonald's and it was the same. Chicken barely even lukewarm, stone cold tortilla or watever it is and obviously the salad was cold and the bottom was soggy. Had about two bites and picked at the chicken. I had haddock and veg for tea.

I fancied a change in my nighttime routine instead of Jaffa Cakes and tea I had McVities Jamaican Ginger cake. Grin weighed out my little 25 portion (98cals) it was lovely having something different, I've missed buns/cake most so it was nice having a bit.

MustBeThin · 26/02/2016 09:33

Well done Not2b You're doing brilliant. I'm terrible with bread, I have 2-3 slice of wholemeal a day. I never know what to have instead of bread? I always have a slice for breakfast, then if I have dippy egg for lunch I'll have a slice. It'd be odd me having a dippy egg and no bread soldiers. Grin

Not2bObvious · 26/02/2016 10:26

I would definitely drink more water must, read a good few articles about eating low cal and not seeing a loss, water retention can be to blame. And apparently it's not that surprising that after a higher cal day you see a loss - I had that myself earlier this week after 3 days sts, had around 1400 cals and down 1.6 the next day! I've just accepted I'm not having any bread for the 4 weeks, but that's just me. Your losses are really good, stick with what you're doing but guzzle the water😉

wispaxmas · 26/02/2016 11:19

Congratulations, Smillas!!! Tell us about the wedding planning, I love a good bit of wedding chat. Any dress ideas, for example? And yes, what's your goal? If I have any advice for you it would be to not have a concrete weight goal, but rather a goal to feel good in your body. I remember feeling like I was killing myself with a personal trainer and doing weight watchers and although I lost weight for the wedding and now think I looked great at the time I was so down on myself body image wise because I hadn't hit that magical goal number that I felt self conscious. I wish I'd been easier on myself now.

wispaxmas · 26/02/2016 11:22

Mustbe, do you eat a lot of the same foods day in and day out? I have no idea if it's a myth or not, but I remember hearing that eating different things every day keeps your body guessing and helps maintain steady weight loss. Could be total bs, but worth a try I guess? When I used to try to lose weight I would end up in a rut of having the exact same breakfast and lunch every day because it was easy and low cal and easy to track, but I would ALWAYS end up on plateaus for yonks.

wispaxmas · 26/02/2016 11:24

MustBe, I used to be the same with bread, too.. Now I only eat it if I've made it myself (or if we're in a restaurant, I guess). I make a loaf every few weeks, but not enough to end up eating loads, and mainly it's for my daughter anyways.
