Thanks everyone! Well done on the losses. Grin

Finally the scales have moved after 13 days I think. 10st 11 today. I am officially a healthy BMI Shock I can't believe it. I look exactly the same as I did yesterday when I was overweight. Grin

Strange old week for me this week - last week at my current job. So I have a 'bring a plate' lunch tomorrow and going to the pub for food on Thursday plus all the emotions tied up with it being my last week. And it's too hot to run. I am aiming to just not overdo it and try and maintain this week.

shortaris1 · 19/07/2016 21:41

Well done Must Good feeling huh?

I'm aiming to maintain this week as well Colouring. I just have too much on to lose realistically. Have you got something else to go to or are you having a break?

Hopefully · 20/07/2016 04:51

Phew, back down almost all the way from yesterday's frightening gain! Hoping I'll see a 'real' loss in the next week or so.

Well done Must, must be such a relief to finally see it happen. I am impressed with your perseverance in the face of static scales.

Mscolouring maintaining sounds like a sensible plan - sometimes a loss just isn't going to happen!

Was impressed with my restraint yesterday - I was baking honeycomb, fudge and marshmallows for teacher presents and managed not to eat more than just the odd taste to make sure they tasted ok. Now I just need to continue to resist until they are packed up later and I don't need to see them any more!

MsColouring · 20/07/2016 23:30

Short - I have a new job starting in September.

shortaris1 · 21/07/2016 17:52

Ah good Colouring Hope the pub lunch was good. Off to a sweaty combat now. Gym has no air con!

Hopefully · 22/07/2016 04:59

Hurrah! I am back under 10st 7lb. It is only by 0.2lb, but hey, that's under!

Have been trying hard to log all those stupid little mouthfuls that I grab every time I go in the kitchen, which I think is making the biggest difference. The real challenge now is going to be to keep it together over the summer holidays - I'm not sure yet whether it's going to be a lovely break or a stressful nightmare. Have had some very minor issues with DS1 recently, and I'm hoping he just needs the break, but if he continues in the same line of behaviour I am going to be turning to gin and chocolate every day by about lunchtime Hmm Grin.

MustBeThin · 24/07/2016 09:38

Thanks all Grin Well done Hopefully

I'm 1lb down to 10st 10 this morning which I'm super happy about Grin I was aiming for maintaining as I was naughty the other day Blush remember me telling you I managed to avoid temptation with the Haagen Dazs? Well I ended up in the supermarket again and a tub jumped in my trolly, then I accidentally ended up eating it over 2 days Blush I also ended up eating lunch out on Friday. I wasn't too upset over the ice cream, it's the first massive sweet treat I've had this year other than when I was on my holiday.

3lb away from 3st loss. Grin

BitOutOfPractice · 24/07/2016 11:03

Morning! I love hearing about your triumphs.

The sales have been hovering up and down over the same bloody pound all week but finally showed a 2lb loss this morning. That's 16 in total.

shortaris1 · 24/07/2016 20:51

Amazing Bit Hope I haven't gained too much this week between my meals out and the wedding and prosecco fest last night! I'll weigh in the morning. Now got 4 weeks til hols and nothing major socially coming up so I can hammer it. Got a dinner out and lunch this week but nothing that should trip me up too much. Only need to lose maybe 6lb .

shortaris1 · 25/07/2016 07:59

Arse! I've put in the bloody 3lb I lost last week. Oh well. I'll just need to get it back off again!

Sugarandsalt · 25/07/2016 08:24

Well I've regained 1.5lbsafter my 3.5lbs last week so looks like we are in same boat short. But that was mostly water weight after gastroenteritis. Was away for a rare night with my husband and had 4 course meal including hollandaise sauce covered fish, potato gratin and chocolate fondant. Copious amounts of wine and a big hotel breakfast then. Was lovely though!

Back on track today! Meal plan for the week made, shopping coming tonight.

So now I'm down 3stone 8.5lbs. Still happy.

SesameSparkle · 25/07/2016 18:32

Hello, can I join you? I've been on mfp for 105 days and have lost 1st 9lb. I reached my modest target weight a few weeks ago (takes me back to my lowest from 2 years ago) but I've managed to carry on and now I'm hovering just a few pounds away from the normal bmi range Shock. So I'm still medically in the overweight category but at the same time I'm at the lowest weight since records began I've ever been my entire adult life (I used to be a plus size girl but started steps to turn this around 4 years ago). So as of this morning I'm 10st 9lb - I have literally never seen a '10' on my scales before the current weight loss streak. I'm also now at my fittest. So I'm struggling to decide what I want to do. I think I might be able to lose a little more but at the same time I really want to stabilise at a point where I won't end up gaining it all over again. I've also been shopping for my new figure and would be very sad if my new dresses didn't fit me anymore. In the meantime I'm still religiously logging everything and think I could use a bit of company.

Hopefully · 25/07/2016 19:18

Wow Sesame, well done! Picking a point to stop can be tricky - I have no set goal in mind at the minute beyond getting down to 10st, then I'll decide whether I'm happy there or not.

Sugar you have to make allowances l for special occasions, sounds like the night away qualified as one!

short I hate losing weight I've already lost, it feels like such a waste to have to lose it twice!

Have stayed the same for a few days, but have also been eating plenty (been doing a surfing course so burning lots, but with appetite to match at the end of the day). Hoping to lose another lb for family party on the weekend.

shortaris1 · 25/07/2016 20:45

Sesame well done. That's loads!
Hopefully I'm annoyed at myself but that's me now, 4 weeks to go til hols. Fast days tomorrow and Thursday and no huge nights out. Out for a few meals but plenty of time to exercise and eat properly.

SesameSparkle · 26/07/2016 21:29

hopefully thank you. The surfing course sounds great. I'm impressed - what an active summer you are having!

short thanks. How did the fast day go today? I reckon you can do a lot in 4 weeks.

I'm away from home for a few days, which makes it so very difficult to keep on track. It means I've managed to exceed my calories both yesterday and today but hopefully I should be able to pull it back again.

SharkSkinThing · 26/07/2016 21:36

Hello, can I join, too please?

Starting tomorrow at 95kg, wanting to get down to 75kg.

Starting with 1200 a day and will see how I will go.

I am a terrible yo-yo dieter, and really need to get a grip this side of Christmas!

Do you follow each other on the MFP site, or just on here?

All support welcome (and offered!).

Hopefully · 27/07/2016 05:03

Sesame it was fab, can't wait to do more. I don't struggle to be active, but sadly have the appetite to match!

Hi Shark, nice to have you along. My goals chart (basically a list of weights and goal dates, which I update/alter weekly depending on my progress) reckons I'll be done around Christmas time.

My weight is still static, have abandoned hope of losing more before the weekend as I am expecting pre-period bloat any time now. Will try to keep on it so I have a bit of a whoosh once that's out of the way.

SharkSkinThing · 27/07/2016 07:28

Thanks for having me!

Feeling more than ready to do this. Food planned for the day and pedometer. DS with CM today whilst I work, so a good distraction.

Will report back later!

shortaris1 · 27/07/2016 07:47

Morning and welcome Shark You can do this

The fast was fine Sesame I'm in the zone with them now. Realised last night that the holiday was actually 2 weeks come Monday and not 3 but I should be okay. Bikinis don't look great tho so going to look for more. I'm a FF cup and can't get away with wee string numbers any more!

Sugarandsalt · 27/07/2016 08:53

Welcome shark and sesame. Sesame you've done brilliantly. I am currently dying to see 11 on the scales and eventually 10s!

Shark I started off at 100.4kg. Now I'm 78kg. Next big target is 68kg, eventually I'd like to settle at 60-65kg though. I don't have any MFP friends but might be an idea to set up a group of anyone knows how!

Sugarandsalt · 27/07/2016 09:00

I had something of a "non-scale victory" today. Back in April I was delighted to fit into a pair of work trousers from Zara. Today they were slipping down and baggy. I'm very much back on track after my cheat meals at the weekend now. Have some parental leave coming up and am travelling to see family in Ireland for most of August so I'm a bit anxious about managing. Anyone have any tips? Feel it would be rude to stay with my lovely inlaws and insist on doing the cooking! (Have no worries with my own family!)

SharkSkinThing · 27/07/2016 19:02

Thanks again for the warm welcome and wow at your amazing achievements. Really inspirational!

Day 1 was fine, though I'm hungry, so have made some herbal tea to take the edge off. If I can get to 9pm (bed time), I'll be fine. Disappointed to have not reached 10,000 steps (only managed 9,000, been stuck at my desk all day), but it's a base line. I can always nip out for a brisk walk once DS has gone down.

Sugar - my only tip is to not drink! I find I'm more in control if I don't go near the wine, and I've been very conscious of my drinking these last few months.

If that fails, try and avoid the biggies (bread and pasta)? Or add a bit of exercise? It's so hard!

Hope everyone else is ok today.

Hope everyone else is ok?

Woohoo, am down into the 10st 6lb range again (well, 10st 6.4lb. Close enough!) which is where I was before I put on my random 3.5lb at the start of the month. Annoying to have had to lose the weight twice, but I'm pleased I've (nearly) got there before PMT bloat appears. Calorie counting is such a PITA, but it is so utterly reliable that it's worth it for steady and straightforward weight loss.

Sugar I find staying with people when dieting so hard. I've noticed over time that people will always pass the odd comment, but actually as long as you aren't cutting out food groups you can get away with just small servings of what everyone else is having. I have been known to run the 'I'm trying to cut down on processed carbs because I'm finding they set off IBS-type symptoms' line (which they actually sort of do for me, especially more than a day or two of eating them) which gives me an easy out from eating acres of pasta/rice/bread.
