Fasted today and it's gone okay.

Sooooo hard when you've got a social life!

MustBeThin · 12/07/2016 19:48

Glad your day went well Short I still keep juggling between 10st 12 and 10st 13. Confused weightloss seems to have settled and slowed down again now I've been back off holiday a few weeks.

lalaland1985 · 12/07/2016 20:31

Can I join?

I'm 5,5" and weighed in at 9stone 9lbs today. I know it doesn't sound bad but I've a tiny frame and don't carry weight well.

I was 7 stone 10lbs when I met my low husband 4 years ago. I want to be 8 stone 5lbs again.

**Lets do this

lalaland1985 · 12/07/2016 20:40

Forgot to add - I have a holiday so Rome and Sicily in September do would love to have lost a stone by then!

Mothersruin75 · 13/07/2016 12:54

Lala - welcome! A good goal a stone for Rome and Sicily, plus amazing places to go. I love Rome and would love to go to Sicily.

Me I've lost the 2lbs I put on the week before. I'm really pleased as I've had a few treats and went out for DHs birthday. Makes me think that I'll be able to maintain this long term (hopefully!!)

So I'm now 11st 5 if I take the weight when I first step on our scales or if I step on again they show a 4lb drop and 11s1lb. I've been taking the first measurement but DH says they do this for him and should take the 2nd. They are Fitbit so really wouldn't expect them to do this. My old scales upstairs that I thought are dodgy show the second weight too. I will take 2nd go this week as it means I could see 10 stone something next week. Desperate to see 10 stone something.

lalaland1985 · 13/07/2016 21:06

Not a bad day at all today!

MFP has set me out at 1200 calories and today I ate 1137. I have been measuring everything. its fab! I have used MFP before and it is such a great tool. I am confident that i can stop putting on weight by being more mindful of what i eat and putting the wine down.

BitOutOfPractice · 13/07/2016 21:49

I am slinking ashamedlh back. Went away with DD1 last week and even though I didn't think I'd gone too mad I have put 5 lbs on. Maybe because I did go mad when I got home.

Gah!

I'm back on it this week. Hit my steps target. Been to the gym twice already and eating ok.

We can do this!

MsColouring · 13/07/2016 22:47

Welcome Lala.

I am now in the 9s. 9st 13 this morning.

BitOutOfPractice · 13/07/2016 22:56

Very well done MsColouring

MustBeThin · 14/07/2016 09:04

Welcome Lala

Hope you had a lovely holiday Bit

Woo well done Mothersruin and Colouring Star Grin you are doing so well.

I've not lost anything for over a week Sad I'm 10st 13 more often than not and the scales aren't budging. I'm drinking plenty and eating the same. I did lose a few pounds quite quick after my holiday so I'm more than likely back to my routine of not losing anything for at least 2 weeks.

Hopefully · 15/07/2016 05:04

Can I join in too please? Have been steadily losing weight (very very slowly) for the past few months, but over the last month have completely come to a standstill and in the past fortnight have gained back about 3lb, which when you're only losing 0.5lb a week is a bit depressing!

So I've decided to return to MFP, which I've successfully used in the past, and actually get on top of it.

I know my problem is snacking - I snack to the exclusion of meals when I'm at home with DC3 all day, and although it's mainly 'healthy' (avocado on oatcakes, dark choc, fruit) I am just taking in too bloody much - I am hardly going an hour during the day without nibbling on something!

I started at 11st back in April, got down to a glorious 10st 6lb a couple of weeks ago, and currently weigh 10st 9.5lb. Not sure what my ultimate goal is (probably around 9st 5lb to allow for a couple of lbs gain when I stop, I'm 5'6") but first goal is to crack 140lb.

MFP has given me 1460 calls a day based on being 'lightly active', which seems a reasonable amount, so am going to try to stick to that and only eat minimal exercise calories back (I do ashtanga yoga 5-6 mornings a week, which is fairly intensive for yoga, but is still only yoga).

Hopefully · 15/07/2016 13:26

Wow, calorie counting is really making me face up to how much I've been snacking recently! Such a struggle to not just grab another bit of fruit/biscuit/rice cake/square of chocolate every time I pass the kitchen (which is about every 10 minutes, my house is tiny).

BitOutOfPractice · 15/07/2016 15:59

Hello hopefully. And welcome.

Mfp certainly does focus the mind doesn't it? If you log everything religiously it works so well. Good luck on your weight loss

Finally the scales moved this morning and I lost 2.2lbs. I have lost 3.6lbs of the 5 ( five!!) I put on on holiday

Sugarandsalt · 17/07/2016 08:27

Hello everyone, haven't been on in a few weeks, great to see everyone doing so well. I've been slowly dropping 0.5-1lb a week which I'm happy enough with. I managed to catch a truly terrible vomiting bug this week, so after 2 days of non stop vomiting and high fever I've dropped 5lbs this week (silver linings, but definitely not worth it!). Although that's mainly down to dehydration I know.

Started eating small amounts again yesterday so expect most of that to pile straight back on. This morning weighed in at 12st1.5lbs which is in total 3st10lbs off starting weight.

MustBeThin · 17/07/2016 12:39

Welcome Hopefully

Well done Bit and Sugar 3st 10 loss is amazing how long did it take?

I'm still 10st 12 Hmm not lost anything for almost 2 weeks.

Sugarandsalt · 17/07/2016 14:43

Thanks Must, it's taken 7 months so far, started at New Years. Was fairly quick to come off initially (although I was the biggest I'd ever been after a difficult few years and lots of comfort eating), now it's much slower. I suspect by tomorrow I'll be back up 2/3lbs so more likely 3st7 lost really- I woke up dizzy on standing and craving water and salty food so I know I was fairly dehydrated after my terrible bug.

Need to get to 10 10 to get to a BMI of 25, and ideally I'd like to be somewhere between 9 and 10 stone to give myself some breathing space. So feels like it's still a long way to go. Taking it slow now though, will be happy to be at a healthy BMI by the end of 2016, and can spend next year finding a comfortable maintenance level.

How many clothes sizes have people lost? I've gone from a 16 on top, 18/20 probably on bottom (but really only bought dresses which were more forgiving, and avoided shops with crueller cuts) to a 12 on top, 12/14 on bottom or a M generally. I seem to wear a smaller size than you'd expect for a given weight as I always have a small waist and narrow shoulders with large bust/bum/hips/thighs. Bras gone from 36G to 30FF.

MustBeThin · 17/07/2016 16:14

You've done so well Grin I started at 13st 7 in January and I'm now 10st 12 so 1lb away from a healthy BMI for me. Like you I lost weight really quickly in the beginning but now I can go 2 weeks without losing and then loose a few pounds that week and then nothing for another fortnight.

I was generally 16 bottoms and 14-16 tops but now I'm 12 on the bottom (getting a little loose) and mostly 12 on top but have a couple of size 10's Grin

Sugarandsalt · 17/07/2016 16:43

You've done brilliantly too Must. Sounds like we are a similar height and shape. I know at 10ish stone I'm generally a 10 on top, 12 on bottom apart from some fitted shirts where I would need a 12 across bust, and would be delighted to be back to that.

BitOutOfPractice · 17/07/2016 20:19

Well done you two! I love reading about successes. Really sues me on.

shortaris1 · 17/07/2016 20:51

You two have done really well!

I was meant to fast today but I'm hungover so just stuck to 1000 cals. Really hoping I get a loss tomorrow as I have 3 social things this week coming so doubt I'll lose much then! Have been quite good all week but had half a pizza last night with my booze. Have exercised 5 times tho so that should help.

Sugarandsalt · 17/07/2016 22:23

Thanks everyone! I'm really proud of how far I've come but also annoyed I let myself get to such a heavy point. Even though I've lost nearly 4 stone I really need to lose another 2-2.5 and it seems so hard now. But I'll get there, half pound by half pound!

shortaris1 · 18/07/2016 07:57

For sure you will Sugar. Weigh in today and I've lost 1.3kg this week so I'm delighted with that. Even better I took a pic last week in my bikini bottoms and took 1 again last night and there's a big difference in my belly fat.
Hope you all have a good Monday.

Sugarandsalt · 18/07/2016 08:10

That's fantastic Shortaris. I'm staying away from the scales for a week or two as I expect there to be a correction after the big weight loss post gastroenteritis and don't want to get discouraged.

BitOutOfPractice · 18/07/2016 09:12

Well done short

I'velost that 5lbs I put on while I was away and another half pound more

Hopefully · 19/07/2016 04:57

I had that pleasing instant drop of a couple of pounds after starting (I'm a daily weigher, always have been whether I'm dieting or not), but had a total food fest yeaterday - went to the beach and bought masses of ham/cheese/bread/sweet treats for a nice picnic lunch, and ate somewhat more than my fair share! I gave up logging at the point I was about 1,000 cals over my 1,460... Am 3lb up this morning but back on track today and expecting it to disappear fairly quickly!

I use the happy scale app to level out my weight fluctuations, does anyone else use it?

Well done Sugar and Short, perseverance works! I'm only about 7lb down on my starting weight in total. I have a chart of how much weight I want to lose and I reckon if I stick to it moderately well it should take me until the end of this year to get to my ultimate goal. Am determined to get there before Christmas so I can safely gain a couple of lb over the festive period without feeling guilty.
