Pasta and pasta sauces which isn't great but we still have some fresh veg and lots of frozen veg so with lots of veg added those meals should be OK. The freezer is still quite well stocked as well. Have plenty of porridge for breakfasts, might have to be beans for lunch or cup a soups which aren't the most nutritious things but at least low calorie.

Sugarandsalt · 19/06/2016 20:32

Beans are pretty good. Maybe get a packet of lentils/other dried pulses and make lentil stews using the jars of sauce/tinned tomatoes to cut down on the amount of pasta you need (would be more filling than veg). And would maybe leave leftovers for lunch. I've been experimenting with various "leftover hash" recipes of late. If you google any ingredient+hash you'll get an array of them!

Sugarandsalt · 19/06/2016 20:33

(Meal planning is my favourite thing to do, and we've been trying to cut back here as anticipating a drop in income soon).

MsColouring · 19/06/2016 20:41

Thank you Sugar. Unfortunately DH is not keen on lentils but beans are good. Leftovers for lunch is always a win - and generally more filling than a cup a soup!

Sugarandsalt · 19/06/2016 21:01

Yes I love leftovers for lunch, having some tomorrow. Have managed to make a chicken last for dinner yesterday and today for 3 adults and a toddler, and lunch tomorrow for me. Making stock in slow cooker with the bones. Not yet managed to have one feed us for a week!

MustBeThin · 21/06/2016 07:40

11st 2 this morning. Out for lunch today though so will probably have bloat gain tomorrow. 2lb away from 2 and a half stone loss and 3lbs away from being in the 10's. Grin

mixety · 21/06/2016 07:55

Hi all, checking in. Scales are shifting again after a week or two of plateauing - 63.7kg this morning! Even after a weekend away with lots of wine and eating. I have decided what works for me is sticking to 1200-1450 cals on normal weekdays, plus a HIT workout every day and not eating back the calories. Then when I have weekends away / visitors / parties etc I can afford to eat and drink without counting the calories. And on Friday nights and all day on Saturday, anything goes!

Congrats on the losses everyone, and I am v jealous of PPs fitbit (can't check name as am on phone and it's on previous page) I really want one!

MsColouring - a few of my favourite storevupboard meals are:

Tuna with kidney beans and sweet corn, plus whatever other bits you can add in terms of herbs, onigo!, raw veg, dressing etc

Side dish: Frozen green beans cooked and then immediately rinsed in v cold water, with red onion, white beans, crumbled in feta cheese and lots of lemon.

Jack Monroe's three bean chilli (Google Mumma Jack's best ever chilli)

Jack Monroe's lentil bolognaise (again, Google it)

Kidney bean or chick pea curries - loads of recipes if you Google.

I'm also eating store cupboard food this week as was away at weekend so no time to go to supermarket, and too busy in the week to go.

Stellar67 · 21/06/2016 07:56

May I join you? I've been using mfp but I have been ignoring it and the weights is creeping back on. I'm 12st 8 this morning Blush

MustBeThin · 22/06/2016 10:31

Well done Mixety and welcome Stellar

No bloat gain from my lunch out yesterday Grin

How'she everyone getting on? Where are you Not2b Jonty Emz Bath Thankful Steward come and update us Grin

Mothersruin75 · 22/06/2016 11:58

Hi Stellar please come and join us!

Mustbe - great news you had no post lunch bloat. You are so very nearly there on hitting the 10's.

I've lost a pound this week bringing me to 11st 7. Am over the moon as last week wasn't the best for tracking but the best for other reasons as I became an aunty for the first time. We celebrated that with wine and take away, then there was BBQ and pizza at the weekend, I don't really deserve the pound off but I totally enjoyed not stressing and logging for a few days and now feel focussed again.

We go away at the end of July, would love to be in the 10's then.

Hope everyone else doing ok.

MrsPear · 22/06/2016 19:56

Hello all

Welcome new ones!

I have a confession I have gain a 1lb!
No surprises as I really have not been mindful in the last two weeks but I am back in the wagon so to speak. I have also found there is a free exercise class in walking distance when both boys are in school. Going to pop in and ask what i need - you have to prove residency and that you live in the borough. So onwards and downwards!

shortaris1 · 22/06/2016 20:47

Hello all, can I join? I need to lose approx 8lb in the next 8 weeks before a holiday. Main meals are quite healthy but I love chocolate and I'm partial to a drink!
Also at 5 foot and 9.9lb I don't have a lot of calories to play with.
Doing 5:2 and also using MPF and hammering the gym to get it off. First fast today and finished on 520 cals. Also did combat.
Always got lots on socially and I love that but I need to stick to 1200 in the week I think to allow for that and still get a loss.
Bought the Clean Eating Alice book last week and am experimenting.
I'm all belly!

MsColouring · 23/06/2016 22:58

Come join us shortaris. Welcome other newbies.

I'm down to 10lb 3oz. I think it might be time to reset mfp to lose 1lb a week as I now have a healthy bmi. Think I might maintain better if I lose the last bit more slowly. I am now running 7-8km 3x a week so I am generally healthier.

Living on store cupboard meals is working out ok. I've mainly had leftovers at lunchtimes and Dh made a big batch of bolognaise tonight. Got a bbq to go to on Saturday and thinking I might make my own bean burgers to take to save buying stuff. Pay day still seems such a long way away!

MsColouring · 23/06/2016 23:02

Just realised what I wrote - I am 10st 3lb - don't know where my head was at!

blankspacebaby · 24/06/2016 17:27

Hi can I join you please? Been lurking for a few weeks! Using mfp & Fitbit for 4.5 weeks & 7lb down so far. 11st 7 and only 5'2" so a long way to go yet.
Haven't really figured out whether to eat back exercise calories or not, what do you all do? I earned 750 today but that's such a lot to eat!

Not2bObvious · 24/06/2016 17:31

Hi must, quick check in since you must have seen me hiding in the hedges😉 I'm persevering with bsd and still using my beloved mfp to keep track. I'm yo-yo'ing up/down the same couple of pounds - currently coming in at 11.1, down from 12.2.6 in mid February. Not astounding loss wise but I struggle dreadfully getting from 1 stone bracket to another. I've now got 3 pairs of size 10 jeans (smidge of vanity sizing but who cares) I can wear comfortably so I'm very happy with that as s progress measure. You're doing so brilliant, vv proud of you - keep it up 😘

Not2bObvious · 24/06/2016 17:34

And while I'm here and blank has asked 1 of the most common questions on all weight loss threads. Exercise cals are vastly over calculated, so first of all if it says 750, halve that and then secondly bank it. Exercise cals are money in the bank.

MustBeThin · 24/06/2016 20:35

Welcome Short and Blank

Well done on the losses GrinStar

Good to hear from you Not2b you are doing brilliant. Size 10, bet you are thrilled. Grin I bought some new size 12 jeans but they seem to be getting a little loose in the waist already and I've only lost 5lb since I got them. Confused I seem to be in size 12 tops now but I've actually got a couple in size 10 think it must be vanity sizing. Grin saying that though my boobs have shrunk loads Sad They used to piss me off because I always had to buy bigger tops to fit them but now I'm missing them. I got new bra's fitted from Bravissimo and I'm now a 32F but I think their cups must be ridiculously small because no way do i look like and F cup. Hmm

MsColouring · 25/06/2016 06:39

Hi Blank.

Exercise calories - either don't eat them back at all or only eat half of them back as the numbers are only ever estimates.

MustBeThin · 25/06/2016 09:11

Down 1lb today, 11st 1 now 1lb away from 2 and a half stone loss. Grin

Going to have a little treat tonight as it's Saturday. Smile

shortaris1 · 25/06/2016 15:15

That's amazing Must how long did that take. I used to work for Bravissimo and they're not small, honestly it's just that most folk wear a bra that's at least 2 sizes too big in the back and 2 in the cup. Also the media make us think a D is gargantuan when it's really quite small! Whenever you read drivel about Katie Price's DD's, they're really GG's! Apologies, this is my pet subject.

Not great eating today as I was out last night but at least I didn't eat loads of rubbish last night and I stuck to prosecco.

acatcalledjohn · 25/06/2016 15:36

Another two lbs lost when I weighed myself yesterday morning, down to 12st 6.4lbs! Unfortunately I am terribly disappointed and angry with the result of the Brexit vote, so ended up in a pub last night eating crap and drinking beer.

This morning though I was only at 12st 6.6lbs, so practically no damage done! Very pleased!

MustBeThin · 25/06/2016 16:22

Well done Cat Grin nothing like having a cheeky treat and not seeing a gain the next day.

Thanks Short I started on the 4th January, I lost the first stone in about 6 weeks then losses slowed down after I hit a stone and a half. I've just had a 10 day holiday with no MFP logging and had no real weight gain which was a bonus. Smile When you hear about these big boobed celebs wearing DD's it make me Hmm because I look at my F Chest and mine don't even look half their size. Hmm

blankspacebaby · 26/06/2016 20:17

Thanks for the tips on exercise cals, I never eat all of them anyway but find it useful at the weekend so I can have a nice tea & glass of wine as I do plenty of exercise both days.

shortaris1 · 27/06/2016 07:46

Morning all, delighted with my first weeks loss, I'm 0.9kg down! Just under 2lb off thanks to my first week back on 5:2. Are crap on Saturday and Monday as well but did make it to the gym 4 times this week and sure some of it is beginners gains. I'll take it though!

How did you all go over the weekend?
