Hello. Grin

I'm sure most of that weight will be bloat/water Plum after a week of good eating and drinking plenty of water you'll lose loads.

I'm another 1lb down today! I now weigh 11st 5, so 2st 2 loss so far this year. Grin

It's super quiet on here, hope you are all OK. Come and update us Not2b Bath Jonty Thankful Emz and everyone else I've missed.

MustBeThin · 15/05/2016 12:14

Just looked up my BMI on the NHS website. Apparently the top end of a healthy BMI weight for my age/height is 10st 11 and I'm now only 11st 5. 😀 I'm not far away at all am I not sure how much more weight I want to lose after reaching a healthy bmi tbh, just going to keep plodding on and see how it goes.

MrsPear · 15/05/2016 13:24

Hi can I join? Had a big shock on the scales. I knew I was getting bigger but not that big. I am mfp to count calories and exercise DVDs in the evening.

MsColouring · 15/05/2016 18:02

Welcome Mrs pear.

Scales are now sitting on 11lb 1 so hoping to see a 10 on the scales very soon. Managed to resist ds's birthday cake yesterday did have a couple of pieces of chocolate though and my friend somehow managed to persuade me to have a couple of glasses of proseco last night.

MrsPear · 15/05/2016 19:33

Thank you mscolouring

Done exercise DVD - and am already aching. But I have eaten the right number calories and stayed within fat levels. Nervous for weigh in Tuesday.

plumstone · 16/05/2016 08:34

Hi all, after a very strict weekend 1200 and 4 litres of water per day I can report back to 10.9 this morning, so will definitely say that it was water retention and TOTM.

Aiming for 10.7 on Friday and then 10.5 for a week on Friday. Really enjoying the whole MFP as being a bit of a planner and slight control freak I do like to organise m food, spent yesterday doing the whole prep thing for the week so envisaging so slip ups!!

Orangesaretheonly · 16/05/2016 10:47

Hi all can I join, new to mn and in the process of reading the whole thread. Am 5ft 5 weigh 11stone 5 ideally would like to be 10 stone. Dh bought me a Fitbit to try and boost my motivation. Have started tracking what I'm eating. Could do with this thread to help motivate me more!!

MsColouring · 16/05/2016 19:02

Hi oranges. Sounds like you have a similar amount to lose to me.

Another day, another birthday here - dss's birthday so it was tea at Pizza Hut. Stuck to a virtuous veg pizza (which was lovely!) - hard to be sure how many calories I had at the salad bar though - only had a bit of pasta and potato salad and then stuck to veg. Had the tiniest sliver of cake and didn't particularly enjoy it.

Had cereal for breakfast this morning instead of porridge and was really hungry by break time. Will go back to porridge tomorrow - fills me up for longer.

gentlydownthestreamm · 17/05/2016 09:09

MsColouring - what positively virtuous Pizza Hut behaviour! Tip for pizza hut dieters: it's less calories to have the deep pan pizza than the thin crust, because although they both have the same amount of dough (between equivalent sizes) the deep pan has a lot less topping on it. I remember learning this from a student friend who worked at Pizza Hut and was always on a diet!

Welcome Oranges, I am thinking about getting a Fitbit, so let me know what you think of it.

Well done Plum. I like the planning aspect of MFP as well - I only recently twigged that you didn't have to enter everything AFTER you ate it, but could actually enter everything you planned to eat that day in right at the start. A revelation, because then you can see how many calories you have left over for snacks / extras etc.

I am happy to report that the scales have finally started co-operating and being more consistent with what they show me, i.e. proper downward trend in weight loss instead of constant ups and downs.

However, I am pretty much stumped by the body fat percentage readings that my fancy Fitbit scales give me. I started at 35%, and the lowest I have got to so far was 31%. However, that reading was when my actual weight had spiked back up to a really high point! Now that my weight is coming down again, my body fat percentage is happily climbing back up and is now sitting at 33.1% even though weight is at it's lowest point. Grr. I think I'm going to have to go in for some serious strength training, maybe.

MrsPear · 17/05/2016 13:28

Hi

Progress report! I am below 11st! 2.5 lbs in a week! Surprised but happy. H seems to think it is too much?! Is it? I thought a lb to two was ok? Plus I have been drinking loads of water - been waking to pee.

plumstone · 17/05/2016 14:38

Hi Mrs Pear - Soo happy for you - seeing a 10 as the first number is IMHO the most exciting thing in the world ever - FACT - no just me then!!! Grin

I think 2.5 lbs in a week is fine as long as you are eating properly and drinking lots!! I have managed to shift my TOTM and lack of water bloat of 5 lbs in three days!!! Also if you have just started you will always loose more in the first couple of weeks. As long as you are not hungry and happy then keep going - it will slow down as your body adjusts!!!!

Not2bObvious · 17/05/2016 15:50

Still lurking in the background must, love reading about everyone's successes, you've come a long way from when you joined. You've done amazing! Goes to show what's achievable when you put your back into it. I'm doing good, maintaining 11.2-11.4'ish - although I would love love love to break into the 10's. Weekends are my downfall (still) Anyway, nice to see new names joining & great successes. Still mfp'ing away here😁

Thankfulforeveryday · 17/05/2016 19:06

Hey must you've been doing amazing. Sorry I've been awol!! Unfortunately I've been ill and just plodding along. I'm still 6lb off goal but I've been wishy washy with MFP, I'm almost back to normal now (health wise) so will try and crack on with it again! Good news is i haven't gained anything!! Yay!! I'm taking part in the GMTV tough mums, tough mudder tomorrow, so glad I lost some weight before deciding to attempt that on national tv!! I'm still questioning my judgement on why I'm doing it in the first place though!! Ha

Emz449 · 17/05/2016 19:38

Evening all still lurking and keeping on eye on the thread! Great to see everyone's doing well. Still trucking on here 8 stone 10 now even after birthday celebrations! It's been a hard couple of months so that probably helped, haven't felt hungry really but I think that's me done now to be honest, looking quite skinny so going to up my calories and keep on with the exercise Smile ran 5 k this evening did kettle bells too, pretty puffed out ha

MrsPear · 17/05/2016 19:52

Thanks plum. Not hungry and as I said to h it is the first week and next week if I manage one I'll be happy. I just want to get back somewhere close to pre babies weight.

MrsPear · 17/05/2016 19:55

Ps what is TOTM?!

Emz449 · 17/05/2016 21:37

Time of the month!

Mothersruin75 · 18/05/2016 13:45

Well donee everyone on the losses - especially those going into the 10s!!! Can't wait for that to be me.

Welcome oranges! Emz what a great weight loss and sounds brill idea to up the calories and keep on with the exercise.

Was weigh in day for me and I was very happy - 12 stone exactly 3lb down this week and a full stone off since I started this! Still not joined the work gym but I have filled the forms in and will return them today. So hoping to see 11 at the start of the scale next week.

Orangesaretheonly · 18/05/2016 21:52

Thanks for the welcomes Smile have been inputting all food on mfp and trying to hit 10,000 steps a day. Fitbit is really good- have set alarms on it for times during the day when I sit for extended periods at work to get me to move which works! Did kettlebells yesterday and going to do again tomorrow. What are people's thoughts on weighing? Weekly or daily? I like the idea of daily but think I may get obsessed!

MrsPear · 18/05/2016 21:58

I go for weekly oranges. Same day same time as it can fluctuate. Thanks for explaining - I don't have that due to depo but I should be off it soon once I have had my op. I wonder how much difference it will make?
Anyone else more hungry when they are tired plus the weather being dark and damp?

MrsPear · 18/05/2016 22:00

Erm I can only imagine being back to what I was - well done on reaching your goal!

MsColouring · 18/05/2016 23:14

Today was a write off. In London at a teacher's thing - lunch was provided so ate more than I usually do, gave into the biscuits as I had had breakfast so early. And tea was junk food at the station. Back on it tomorrow!

MustBeThin · 19/05/2016 18:51

Lovely to hear from everyone. Well done at maintaining Thankful and Not2b hope you had a brilliant day Thankful

Well done on the losses.

I'm still 11st 5 had a small chippy tea so expect to see a gain tomorrow. Drinking plenty of water to start flushing it out of my system. Grin

MsColouring · 19/05/2016 20:14

Had Dominoes for tea today as we had a late meeting at work and it was ordered in for us - wanted to resist but I was hungry. Struggling to work out how many calories 3 slices was as seems to vary massively when I searched on Mfp.

There was a glimmer of a 10 on the scales this morning (10lb 13.6). Not going to get too excited though with the week I've had and got a bbq to go to tomorrow night.

gentlydownthestreamm · 19/05/2016 20:39

I've had a decent day - morning weigh in showed another loss, I'm nearing the 65kg mark now! Will be happy if I manage to get down to 65kg on the nose by the end of next week.

Food-wise, I've been pretty healthy - homemade banana oat muffin for breakfast, veg soup and rice cakes with ham and philly light for lunch, chilli con carne (v healthy version) and rice for dinner. Some weakness in the form of biscuits at work and cheese this evening, but did a good workout so am still well under my calories for today. Woohoo.

I am pretty proud of myself for having managed to break the habit of my nightly glass of wine (or two). Strictly for Friday nights and weekends now - means I am looking forward to tomorrow night even more!

Keep plugging on all, sounds like everyone's doing OK.
