Oh and going spinning later!

Hope you all have a good day

Hope spinning was good Emz! April is nearly over, hang in there.

Was my day to get on the scales this morning - another 5lbs off this morning so now 12st 3lbs. 3 weeks ago I was 13 st - woohoo! Doesn't really feel as though I'm depriving myself too much either.

I've yet to join the gym at work....that'll be next week's job.

I'm off to have my poached egg on toast. Hope everyone has good days.

gentlydownthestreamm · 27/04/2016 09:31

So sorry about your uncle Emz.

The scales stayed the same for me in terms of weight this morning, but body fat has finally budged and gone down nearly 2%, so am really happy with that.

Did a Jillian Michaels workout DVD yesterday, DP decided to do it with me amid sniffles of 'it probably won't be challenging enough for me'. Yet he was DYING by the end, and somehow the more he huffed and puffed the more I felt like it was all rather easy and I was flying through it! Hee hee. It was a good motivator to keep on with the workouts I have to say, though feel a bit sorry for poor DP, he was rather put out by it all...

SmillasSenseOfSnow · 27/04/2016 11:23

Sorry about your uncle, Emz.

I've started lurking a bit again... had a pretty hard push during the last three weeks or so, am now down to 61.1 kg or 9 stone 9! I've now lost two stone, which is pretty difficult to take in!

Not that happy with my remaining flab, mainly thighs and belly. Wedding dress shopping commences in just over a week so I'm pushing hard right now - have also ordered some bits from Exante after reading about it on here. I'm not sure how I'm going to use it - presumably it's most effective if you stick to just those things and get into ketosis rather than just using them as support for a low kcal diet, but staying in ketosis for any great length of time at the moment might be difficult for me - going for dinner while shopping and then at least two dinners round at friends' during the next month or so.

I'm also hitting C25K as hard as I can, nearly finished week 4 despite some setbacks with a sore tendon. I've signed up for a 5k in June and training while in ketosis (or at least on a VLCD and in ketosis) doesn't sound doable at all, so I might just stick to using the items as low cal breakfasts and lunches or dinners where I might otherwise go overboard on kcals due to how I'm feeling.

PandaBear30 · 27/04/2016 18:51

So sorry to hear about your uncle Emz Flowers.
Well done on all the losses ladies. Mothers that's a huge loss in 3 weeks, well done you Smile. Smillas sounds like you're very much in the zone. Fab loss and great that you've got it off in time for wedding dress shopping Smile
I'm down another 1lb. Way off my April goal to lose 7lb, has been such a bad month for me. Going to give it my all for the last few days of the month to see if I can even come close!

Mothersruin75 · 27/04/2016 21:39

Smillas that's a fantastic loss! Pandas thank you, I've been dancing all day. At least you are a 1lb down, with a bad month that's blooming good.
Have done well today, though we've got friends over on Sunday and I'm wondering how to cope. One of my friends is a fab cook and is bringing pud and there'll be wine... Maybe I should stick to a G& slim line T. I don't actually know how many calories there are in gin there can't be too many?

MustBeThin · 28/04/2016 08:02

Well done on the losses. I haven't weighed today. Ended up having a small portion of takeaway last night as I'd forgotten to take the meat out of the freezer to defrost. Yesterday I'd still lost nothing again in 9 days. This seems to be the new trend with me, I seem to lose nothing for upto 2 weeks then will lose sometimes 4lb in a week to make up for it and then I lose nothing for ages again. Hmm All a bit strange really jeans are hanging off my arse and all of my tops are too big but I'm trying to put off shopping.

I'm sure my boobs have shrunk too Blush has anyone else noticed boob shrinkage?

peasareevilcreatures · 28/04/2016 09:30

I'm back after my fantastic holiday to Thailand. Many many buckets were consumed along with lots of delicious Thai food (which is pretty healthy luckily)

I've returned with a gain of 4lb, I'm hoping that's my liver still complaining about the amount of booze as I only got back on monday.

So it's back on the diet and MFP, and laying off the sauce for a while and drinking lots and lots of water.

I'm currently 10.11 and my next goal is to get to 10 stone before my birthday in July

PandaBear30 · 28/04/2016 18:25

Mothers I think the best thing to do to allow for the excess on Sunday is how a couple of lower cal days before and after.

Must you seem to have sussed your weight loss pattern. The next few pounds will be off soon I'm sure of it. No boob shrinkage here, wish there was though!

peas 4lb gain isn't too bad, you'll have it off in no time.

Good day for me. Feel so much better when I eat well. Really need to have a good weekend foodwise, not had one in a while. Seeing family on Sunday which will involve buffet type food. Going to make sure I pile my plate with salad and make the healthiest choices I can.

SmillasSenseOfSnow · 28/04/2016 19:52

Definitely boob shrinkage here. When I was 11+ stone it was pretty much the only time I've had any boobs! It certainly comes off there long before it starts noticeably coming off my thighs or stomach.

Got a birthday party tomorrow, hope I don't offend by eating and drinking in a very cautious manner. Can't afford to slow down on the losses too much before I've got my dress. Definitely not feeling like I'm where I want to be yet but trying to appreciate how far I've come. Hopefully I can get something that will allow me to lose another half a stone without needing to be taken in - that or I can find something that will be easy or cheap to take in close to the time.

Did week 4 of C25K for the last time today, hopefully going to do week 5 run 1 on Saturday or Sunday. My asthma's really bothering me though. I'm quite concerned about the idea of starting on a steroid inhaler because of needing to keep losing weight. Anyone got any experience in that area?

Mothersruin75 · 29/04/2016 06:52

Smilas I've only got experience of steroids from when I had ivf. They made me really hungry and I did pile on the pounds but then I was giving in to comfort eating too. It was the steroids as I'd had a couple of failed cycles without steroids and without the feeling of being hungry all the time. I would say it's the increase in appetite that makes you put weight on so if you can work round that you'll be fine.

Pandas we'll both be on eating the salad as much as possible on Sunday! I'll make sure rest of weekend is very good.

Have a good day all.

gentlydownthestreamm · 29/04/2016 09:15

MustBeThin, I hear you both re: non-moving scales and boob shrinkage. The last time I used MFP to lose weight, I (and DP) definitely noticed boob shrinkage, which is annoying as Smillas says, why does it come off there more noticeably than the thighs or stomach! Totally unfair.

My scales hadn't moved for a week, then this morning I weighed myself and had lost half a kg all in one fell swoop. I'm sure the same will happen for you v. soon.

Good luck with the temptations of the weekend all esp Panda with your buffet, Mothersruin with your friends coming over and Smillas with your birthday party. I've got my in-laws coming this weekend, but hopefully I should be able to keep things more or less under control. I won't be able to get in as much exercise though, that's the only thing.

My plan for today:

B: Two tangerines
L: M&S Superfood Salad, tin of sardines
D: Quiche, light potato salad, green salad, ice cream

...there will probably be a couple of glasses of wine and some pre-dinner snackage in there as well, but will try to keep it reasonable.

PandaBear30 · 29/04/2016 18:46

Smillas it's a tricky one with wedding dress alterations. I'm sure the shops will have lots of advice for you and most have seamstresses on site that can do any alterations you need. Hope you've managed to avoid temptation today.

Well done on the loss gently.

Having a fairly hungry day but managing to urge surf by saying to myself 'I won't have X just now I may have it later' and repeating the next time I fancy a snack, it seems to have worked as I should come in well within my cals.

MsColouring · 29/04/2016 21:18

My week has gone like this:

Tuesday - big row with dh as I was feeling irritable. One of the things it was about was about what he is eating. He's staying within his calorie allowance which is double mine but not always choosing great foods which is winding me up. Anyway, since then, I've agreed to just leave him to it and let him do it his way. He is logging his food and watching what he's eating and the scales seem to be moving in the right direction so I can't complain.

Wednesday I went for a run, ran down a random alleyway and ended up getting lost and running/walking twice as long as I intended so got bonus exercise!

Been trying to increase my protein level as mfp keeps telling me I'm eating too many carbs and not enough protein. So has loads of veggie Bolognaise yesterday with less pasta and now coming to the conclusion I might be intolerant to too much soy as I have been bloated etc all day which is not good for a vegetarian. I have an issue with Quorn as well and avoiding too much cheese because of the fat and calories.

I'm getting boob shrinkage too which is so frustrating as I have soooo much fat on my thighs. Only time I ever have proper boobs is when I'm carrying too much weight.

MustBeThin · 30/04/2016 18:03

Just checking in Grin Hope everyone's having a great weekend. Still no loss for me, last lost 1lb on the 18th. Hmm just keep plodding along now, the weight loss has slowed down so much which is pretty annoying. Turns out I've only lost 4lb throughout April and that was lost over 9 days. Averages out at 1lb a week this month so I suppose it's not too bad. I've lost 1st 11lb since 4th January. Hopefully I'll have lost 2st by the end of May.

SitsOnFence · 30/04/2016 21:02

Checking in here, too! The scales have frozen for the past 4 days, but that seems to be part of a normal pattern for me, so I'm not worried.

I'm currently in a similar predicament to Smillas in that I came off steriods in February, but am starting to struggle without them (allergies). I really doubt my willpower if I have to go back on them and, not to add too much doom and gloom, but, I never really gained weight until I went on them 3 years ago. Not even any lingering post pregnancy weight. I just get so hungry on them Sad

MustBeThin · 01/05/2016 09:44

Wooooo 1lb down today, now 11st 9. Grin

PandaBear30 · 01/05/2016 09:44

2lbs off for me this week bringing my total loss for April to 5lbs. A long way off what I'd hoped to lose but still happy that the scales are going down. Goal for May is 7lbs.

SmillasSenseOfSnow · 01/05/2016 13:23

Well done on the losses! I went slightly more overboard than planned on Friday and then did it again yesterday (though still in a somewhat restrained manner, I would say) so I'm weighing in at 1.5 kg more than I thought I'd have got to by now today... the last two weeks' losses have evaporated, though I know it's mostly water. Currently 9 stone 11. Still no sign of my Exante purchase. Confused

Thanks for the info SitsOnFence - am I right in thinking these were oral steroids as opposed to either an inhaler or a nasal spray? I've also acquired allergies over the last few years and expect them to get worse as hayfever season picks up. The only ones I've had confirmed though are birch and hazelnut and the birch season should hopefully be winding up soonish. I should probably be drowning in steroids but if anything I might dip my toe in the inhaler side of things at most - it's not supposed to be as bad in terms of weight gain with that due to it being fairly localised.

gentlydownthestreamm · 01/05/2016 15:18

Smillas - you could be speaking for me too, Friday and Saturday didn't go quite as smoothly as I had planned! Not disastrous, but not within calories on either day. Having in laws here (who absolutely have to have three sit down meals a day plus pre-dinner drinks and nibbles a la Francais) put too much food and drink in my path. Haven't weighed myself in consequence! Never mind, onwards and upwards.

What is Extante?

SmillasSenseOfSnow · 01/05/2016 19:49

We'll recover, gently. Smile

Exante is a company that sells meal replacement stuff it seems, mostly stuff aimed at getting into and staying in ketosis on a very low calorie diet, so the weight falls off. I read about it on here and looked it up, their stuff looked worth trying, whether it be as the hardcore VLCD or as things to grab when I can only think of high calorie meals to make and am exhausted. Can only try them if they ever bloody get here, though... the tracker just says notification of a consignment has been received, but the consignment itself has not. Hopefully there'll be better news tomorrow at some point.

Just waiting for food after successfully completing C25K week 5 run 1. Grin

Emz449 · 01/05/2016 20:24

Evening all, back from Ireland now and have moved temporarily into my friends house for two months before moving into my flat with my boyfriend. It's been a really tough, emotional week. I feel really drained by it all to be honest and very down. Havent been able to eat much, but going to get chinese this evening with a few glasses of wine with my friend and boyfriend which should be nice. Normal service will resume tomorrow!

Glad to see everyone is doing great!

Tomorrows menu -

B - Toast and eggs with sausages
L - Spaghetti food pack with green beans
D - Cottage pie food pack with green beans

The food packs are left over from when i did slim and save and i want to use them up! After i have those two i'll have two left to use on Tuesday and Wednesday. Gym will also resume tomorrow!

OP posts:
Mothersruin75 · 02/05/2016 21:44

Well done to all on the losses and hope everyone's had a good bank hol. Emz - hope your Chinese was relaxing after the week you've had.

I can't wait to get back to the normal routine as I seem to have my food planned out well with work, these three day weekends throw me. Had a lovely day yesterday with our friends, I didn't track but didn't go overboard. I made lasagne took a small bit for me with lots of salad only took one bit of garlic bread (that was really hard) and had a few glasses of Prosecco in the sunshine. Been very good today, apart from 2 packs of quavers for breakfast. Took my eldest DD ice skating so a bit of exercise. Have good weeks all.

plumstone · 03/05/2016 08:11

Morning all, Have decided to think of April as a "positive maintaining at under 11 stone" month. Scales have not moved for the last 3 weeks - having developed an aversion to going below 10.11 on the days when I record my weight. However I have lived "normally" enjoying my food and drink when out and without thinking really seemed to have adopted the 8/20 rule. Down 2 pounds since the 29th April, but actually really happy with this.

Goal for May is down to 10.7 for the end of the month.

Also in John Lewis buying new bras have discovered I am a 30FF WTAF - I have always had a small back but its getting ridiculous!!!!! Down from a 34FF so definite shrinkage going on.

Have a great week everyone - I have a feeling May will be awesome!!!!!
