Good to hear from you Steward most of it'll just be bloat. It'll drop of in no time.

Thanks Panda Grin I can't even remember the last time I could fit in a size 12 anything lol. Jeans are still a mystery size wise, I went and tried some on a few weeks back I have pairs of 16 and 14s that are too big at home but then some 14s and 16s I couldn't get on in the shops but other 14s fit fine and I even got into a pair of 12s in M&S.

I have no goal weight at all really, just happy to be losing. I never thought I'd lose 5lb so can't believe I've lost 25lb. Grin I think 10st 7 is the top end of a Healthy BMI so maybe under that? I don't know really, I don't want to put any pressure on myself.

SitsOnFence · 19/04/2016 20:27

Wow, sounds like a great holiday gently and plenty of time to slowly shed the 10lbs you want to lose.

With regards to the 1,000/1,200 kcal/day. I initially just aimed to keep under 1,600, and to be honest, I really struggled to keep to that for the first 5 days or so. However, I now feel saited on 1,000-1,200 kcal, so I think your appetite must shrink after a while.

MsColouring · 19/04/2016 20:58

Panda, my tattoo is a cracked snow globe with butterflies escaping - the butterflies go all up my back. Will share a photo when I've had more done.

Food today:
B -weetabix with banana
L - salad wrap
D - gnocchi in pasta sauce with yet more salad.
S - pear

Went for a run (now on week 3 C25k) after work. Finding it hard after a day of work - wondering if I might do better to run in the morning but really not a morning person.

Well done must on the size 12 - I would really like to go back to a size 12. Agree on jeans being a mystery - I have size 14 jeans that are comfortable and otters I can't even get on.

gentlydownthestreamm · 20/04/2016 06:32

MustBe, sounds like you have a good attitude, and there is definitely no rhyme or reason to clothes sizing! Jeans are extra odd though, because you need to break them in for them to fit properly, I always er on the tight side when buying because I know they'll loosen up a bit after a couple days of wear.

Sits, part of me is aiming for 10kg rather than just 10lbs, but am wary about likelihood of keeping it off long term, so would settle for 10lbs.

Love the sound of butterflies going up your back MsColouring!

Mothersruin75 · 20/04/2016 07:04

Hi guys will read more later and hope everyone is well. Kids are up screaming for breakfast so I can't be long. But I managed to get on the scales and after the disappointing 1lb last week I've dropped 5lbs this week. So happy, I know it'll slow down but it really gives me the motivation to carry on and that I'm not meant to be this heavy.

plumstone · 20/04/2016 08:18

Hi All, MrsC, you have motivated me to look at my C25K app!!! I was really into in the winter - weird! Loved getting up early and running in the dark, maybe its so no one can see me!!! anywho I now walk two thirds of the way to work each day so aiming for regular and maintainable movement!!!

With regards to jeans - I was a die hard Next lift and fit fan for years, however after being in a Gap stupidly early a few weeks ago decided to bite the bullet and try some on. Staff were so helpful and after gently steering me away from straight legged (they were right - made my arse look huge) I am now a devoted fan of curvy boot cut - don't care if they are not in style/fashion - they make my legs look long, and my bum look smaller, also and this I found odd high waisted skinny are good, like a sort of corset effect around tummy! Have had them altered to become a cheeky ankle grazer style for the summer.

I was always a jeans fan - they are my go to for any occasion, bar funeral, black tie or a wedding, but now I am evangelical about Gap Jeans. Have a buying plan to get some more over the next couple of months, and the get them altered at the hem to work with flip flops, converse and my sandals!!! I also have OCD when it comes to clothes fitting - love a good alterations place.

On the weight front, after a hideously junk filled weekend which lasted till Monday night - I had a cheeky mid week weigh in this morning, and down to 10.10 so yay me!!!! Only ever record on a Friday so aiming for single figures of 10.9, which means I am on track for around 10 for my girls weekend at the end of May. Think 10.4/10.7 will be the goal, but want a 7 pound buffer!

Anywho sorry for the mammoth post - I don't care about many things but jeans are something I can get quite vocal about!!! Grin

StewardsEnquiry · 20/04/2016 08:28

Yes I lost about 3 and a half stone altogether. Down 3/4 lb this morning so happy about that, but I have a lunch out, and dinner out tomorrow too.

Bathsheba3 · 20/04/2016 10:47

Hurray on the loss Stewards - both today and altogether.

Day 3 today, and aiming for just under 1000 cals again. Feeling positive.

Have a headache (coming off the sugar?), and drinking loads of water, as well as being super thirsty.

plumstone · 20/04/2016 11:12

Thats amazing Stewards!! My goal is 3 in total before the end of July.

Keep up with the water Bath - I am on 4 litres a day and only 2 coffees - I miss coffee!! Tried to do all the water and my usual 7-8 coffees there is not physical room in my body for that much liquid - moved onto water. 1 lite before leaving in the morning. 1 between 9 and 1pm another before leaving and then one in the evening - didn't think I could do it - but breaking it into sections helps!!!

Bathsheba3 · 20/04/2016 17:41

Do you count your extra exercise calories plum to and fro the loo with all that water? Wink

Bathsheba3 · 20/04/2016 22:49

Kitchen closed at 1073 cals. Day 3 done. Smile

Hope everyone else are doing OK

Thankfulforeveryday · 21/04/2016 08:26

1lb off this week! Soooo slow going now! Not far till goal though! Gonna get my head down and get on with it. I've been put on new medication which I have been assured that it will slow my weight loss down so it's gonna be super tough for me, the joys but I'm feeling determined at the minute. Have a good day everyone Smile

plumstone · 21/04/2016 08:29

Bath Grin no but I do contemplate carrying a pedometer to count the steps, more for curiosity - I never add exercise calories - I don't really do anything that is out of my usual day to day routine.

Really thinking of the gym - want to add a spot of definition to my upper arms, nothing major, but I have a lovely sleepless top I would like to wear and currently the way they look the top will be remaining in the wardrobe for the foreseeable!

Have a great day everyone!!x

SitsOnFence · 21/04/2016 09:51

I love the sound of your tattoo MsColouring, please do post a photo when it is finished. Is there any particular reason behind that design?

I think an achievable goal is good gently. Mine started as 1 stone, but my long term plan is to keep going until I'm back into my old clothes (up to another stone off, I am guessing). I am thinking I might set MFP to lose just 1/2lb per week for the last stone though as, like you, it's only worth doing if it's going to be sustainable.

My weight is currently stuck just above 10st 1lb, but this usually happens a few days before a drop, so I have my fingers crossed hoping that I might see 9st-something on the scales by the end of this week. Even 9st 13.9lbs would do! It's been at least one year, possibly even nearer to 2 since I have weighed under 10st.

Nancery · 21/04/2016 10:43

Hi, can I join in (or even just lurk....?)
I am the worlds crappest dieter. I start, and then I stop. I managed to lose nearly a stone last spring and then fell off the wagon, and stayed there, after Easter. I am guessing I am currently about 12.6 - 12st 10lb and might have to bite the bullet and weigh myself in Boots later today (eek!) There is a huge party weekend I am off to at the end of August and I am desperate not to be so big then - ideally I would like to lose at least two stone but I am happy with something close to that if two stone turns out to be too ambitious!
I am actually pretty active - I don't drive, have a very demanding dog and a semi demanding toddler and so walk, and occasionally run, between 15-25 miles a week. However, I am also in the very bad habit of drinking wine most nights, eating too much treat or easy style stuff in the day (although we do have good dinners, I have time to concentrate on cooking properly then!) as well as nibbling a LOT (DS's leftovers are probably catching up on me!)
I am also a Type 1 diabetic (not to be confused with the more common Type 2) so cannot cut down too much on things like carbohydrate and things like the 5:2 are impossible. (Its not as simple as just having less insulin either, unfortunately, as lots of different factors can affect blood sugar. It also means that bursts of exercise has to be preceded by some kind of food, or at least drink, to get my blood sugar up enough to not need to stop half way through and eat a banana and have a sit down which is, frankly, a pisser.)

plumstone · 21/04/2016 15:51

Hi Nan - I am no expert on Type1 but I knocked all booze on the head for 6 weeks, now its only allowed at events when I am out the flat - i.e. no drinking in the house on a "school" night!!!!

I don't have children, however friends find that covering small people's left overs with washing up liquid as soon as they are finished very helpful in preventing the finishing off leftovers especially if they eat later in the evening.

Also up the water - I am on four litres a day, but built up from lots of coffee and little water to 2 coffees and lots of water!!!!

I also (because I am vain Grin) focus on the "I don't want to be fat" mantra - it aint nice but effective!! and the plan plan plan mantra. I was out for lunch today and consumed a frankly delicious four seasons pizza, however breakfast was 200 calories and dinner will be another 200 calories - the kitchen will close on pretty much 1200 which is my maximum per day!!!!

Good Luck!!! x

MsColouring · 21/04/2016 18:26

Sits - the significance of the butterflies is that I had a single butterfly after my divorce to signify being free. Then I kind of caught the tattoo bug and wanted something bigger. Looked at having butterflies escaping from a birdcage. Tattooist who is a friend suggested that the birdcage thing had been done to death and suggested the snow globe instead. She drew it up and I loved it!

Feeling very tired today. Don't know whether to put it down to less calories and more exercise or down to a stressful week. Still contemplating whether or not to go for a run this evening once ds has gone to bed.

Bathsheba3 · 21/04/2016 18:57

Another 1lb loss Thankful - well deserved! You have stuck with it, despite all your treatment.

Welcome Nancery.

Day 4 done. Haven't yet eaten my dinner, but calorie count for the day is 1050. Pretty proud of that. Am feeling rather strong too. Long may it last! Everyone else's great losses motivating me. Plus I think I have similar mantras to you plum. I don't want to be fat any more. I want to feel good about myself this summer, and to SMILE. 10 weeks. Aiming for 20 lbs. Too ambitious? I'm not exercising this week (except usual dog walks). Will just concentrate on the food side for a week or two, loose some wobble and get more body confident, then will get out running again.

We can do it!

Bathsheba3 · 21/04/2016 18:58

Hope you get some good rest this evening MsC, with / without the run. Love the sound of your butterflies!

PandaBear30 · 21/04/2016 19:09

Need to go food shopping. I've been staying within my calories but using them up on sugary or carby food that I wouldn't necessarily choose if I had a better option. Definitely doing a big shop after school run tomorrow morning.

Agree with you gently and sits about setting small goals. I tend to set myself a monthly goal, it helps the end goal seem more achievable. My end goal is 10 - 10st 7 bit it's such a long time ago since I weighed that much that I may be happy with being a bit above or below. We'll see, first off I have to crack the 11's.

Welcome nancery

Well done on your 1lb loss Thankful

MsColouring · 21/04/2016 20:15

Did the run! Feel good for it as well. Dd is coming with me on her bike which makes it more enjoyable.

Dh is doing well at sticking to his calories also. He has 2480 calories at the moment and is thinking he might drop down to about 2200 for quicker weight loss.

Emz449 · 21/04/2016 20:19

Evening all, well done on all the weight loss!

Back this evening from the funeral and I am absolutely shattered. It's been an emotional few days. Back to work tomorrow but things aren't good with my uncle, he hasn't got very long left to live Sad

Emz449 · 21/04/2016 20:20

Post too soon! Eating hasn't been great but I've only been having one or two small meals a day so hopefully will just stay the same, will check the damage tomorrow!
