slinking, ok wobbling, back in to say hello to everyone, keep going to Must and Jonty, and congrats and welcome to Peas.

Not worth me getting on the scales or reporting in. Am still not in the mental zone for weight loss. But hoping for a boost kick up the backside in April once the sun shines and weather warms up.

PandaBear30 · 23/03/2016 17:22

Glad to hear you're feeling better This and Must.
Well done Jonty the 9's are touching distance.
Welcome peas great loss so far.
Bath hope you're OK. I've not been in the right mindset for weight loss far more times than the right one. Frustrating when our heads and hearts don't work together. Hope things click again for you soon.
OK day for me so far. Think I'll come in around 1350. My DC break up for easter hols tomorrow, really hope them being off doesn't drive me to chocolate!

wispaxmas · 23/03/2016 19:56

Hi all, I'm feeling a bit like you now, batsheba, and it's showing in my indulging in chocolate more than I ought. Still logging it all on MFP, though. And still maintaining what should be between 500-1000 calories deficits most days. Still the same weight I was 10 days ago... And a grand total of 3kg in 8 weeks. I just feel impossibly slow given that 2kg of that was in the first 2 weeks!!

ThisIsme2 · 23/03/2016 21:23

I think I need to buy some scales!

I've done ok today, despite sucking cough sweets a lot to stop the coughing. I went for a long walk and have consumed just under 1300 kcal. I had mango for breakfast, soup for lunch, hm bolognese pasta for dinner and a snack in the afternoon of a small m&s prawn salad.

MustBeThin · 24/03/2016 08:06

Welcome Peas

Hello Bath & Jonty good to hear from you. 😘

I'm super pissed off this morning had an overnight game of 2lb Angry why 2lb again?! This happened about 2 months ago and it took 5 days for it to bugger off. I didn't have TOM gain last week so it obviously decided to appear today. It's not real weight, I haven't gone over my calories any days even when I had my F&B waffle because that was all I had and about 5 mouthfuls of haddock for tea because I felt sick. I did feel crap during the night and still do this morning all bloated and horrible. Sad I'm off out today too, supposed to be wandering round the shops trying new jeans on to get a feel of whether I've dropped a size as all mine are too big. Now I feel like a bloated egg on legs. Hmm

Not getting on the scales tomorrow, I'll miss a day.

peasareevilcreatures · 24/03/2016 09:57

Thanks for the welcome everyone Smile

MustBeThin · 24/03/2016 10:31

Hahaha why the bloody hell do jeans sizes vary so much even in the same shop?! So about 2 years ago I bought 2 pairs of jeans from River Island in a size16 (had been a 16 there for ages and the same weight for years) both pairs were EXACTLY the same but 2 different colours. The blue pair fit perfect but I couldn't even get the black pair over my thighs Angry obviously took the black pair back. The blue pair are now miles too big so just tried a size 14 on in the same colour/style jeans as the ones I currently own and couldn't get them over my thighs Hmm

Last year I bought 2 pairs of jeans in a 14 from M&S (couldn't believe I fit a 14 Grin) these jeans are a lot too big now too. So today I tried a pair of their jeggings on in a 14 (these aren't what I bought last year) couldn't get them past my thighs again. Then I tried a pair of their relaxed skinnies on (I don't own these either) in a 12 YES A TWELVE Shock and they fit prefect!!!! WTF.......how the bloody hell am I supposed to know what size I am?! I own 16's and 14's that are all too big but I've tried 2 pairs of 14s today that I couldn't even pull up but a that 12 fits prefect.

Thankfulforeveryday · 24/03/2016 11:47

Hey everyone.
I've been slack, I'm away on holiday, back home tomorrow. I so hope I haven't gained to much!!! I was slacking off a bit before left too, as I said my friend died and I, as usual turned to food! I hadn't gained any before I left so I'm hoping I haven't done to much damage. But I'm staying with relatives next week so that's always a worry. I haven't let up in my exercise though and doing 4-5 classes a week and can't believe the difference to my body shape, I can get back in trousers I've had for ages. So despite only losing a slow lb a week, I feel and look slimmer and I am currently wearing a bikini!!! Shock and I feel ok!! (Apart from feeling self conscious about the 10 inch scar through my abdomen)
My head is back in the game now.
Must don't let that little gain get you down, it'll slide back off!! I know what you mean about the Jean thing!! It's so frustrating!!! I do love a marks jeggings though. I like they are slightly higher on the waist to hide any muffin top!!! Blush I own 6 pairs!!!!

wispaxmas · 24/03/2016 13:24

Great attitude towards the gain, though, must, knowing it's not real weight gain!!

PandaBear30 · 24/03/2016 21:15

Have had a super hungry afternoon today. Come in at not far off 1800 cals. Really need to make sure I get back on it tomorrow, don't want a whole weekend of over indulgence even if it is Easter.
Must sizing is so annoying, can make shopping trips far from fun experiences! What did you end up getting? I can't wait to reach goal so that I can start to buy clothes again. I've been living in the same old stuff for far too long.

wispaxmas · 24/03/2016 22:43

Right, I managed to have a Chinese takeaway and not have anything terribly bad. Had some hot and sour soup instead of a spring roll, only one lean little hoisin duck pancake, no noodles, only 2 tbsp of boiled rice and a non-breaded meat dish in a chilli sauce with cabbage, peppers, and bean sprouts. I'm estimating it was probably only 500 calories as I kept to quite small portions of everything, but I hate the uncertainty of it. It could be more or less.

How do you estimate calories from a takeaway? I'm tempted to log it as 600 just in case, even though I think 500 is more than enough.

ThisIsme2 · 25/03/2016 01:48

Not my best day so far. We ordered pizza tonight and I had about half a large Hawaiian pizza. However I didn't have lunch and did walk around town for a couple of hours this afternoon. I reckon I'm still over my allowance though. I'll do better tomorrow.

I bought some cheap scales but they don't seem accurate. I'll try them tomorrow morning anyway.

MustBeThin · 25/03/2016 09:11

Good to hear from you Thankful hope you are having a lovely time.

Wispa I'd have had a meltdown a while back if I gained 2lb overnight but now I know it's happened before and it will go I'm not as bothered. It is still annoying but it wasn't real weight as I hadn't gone over my calories.

I didn't buy any jeans Panda was just trying them on Grin I want to try to wait until the 2stone marker if I can.

Yesterday was probably my worst day of the year and I don't know how many calories I had. I had coffee and cake out for lunch Blush then I had half of a small portion of chippy chips and a carton of gravy for tea but I had only 1 slice of toast for breakfast. I obviously went over my calories but I promised myself I'd have a chippy tea after losing a stone and I hadn't had it yet.

I bumped into someone I hadn't seen since last year and the first thing they mentioned was how much weight I'd lost Grin I didn't think anyone would notice. Plus I'm only 1lb up today, I was 2lb up yesterday and then I had chips so expected to gain another 1lb but instead I've lost 1lb of bloat.

As for estimating takeaway calories I don't really I've only had 2 takeaways including yesterday but I've had other meals out. I think as long as you're not eating out/fast food multiple times a week and are a little more sensible about what you're choosing it doesn't matter too much. If I eat out for lunch I will have a slice of toast for breakfast, enjoy my meal out then if I'm not hungry at teatime which I'm generally not I will skip tea and have a cuppa and jaffa cakes later. That way I don't really go too much over and it probably all evens out throughout the week as I'm usually 100 calories under my allowance almost every day anyway. Before I'd have breakfast, have lunch out and still eat tea even if I wasn't hungry just because it was teatime, now I realise if I've had something more substantial and I'm not hungry by the next mealtime I can skip it. Smile

ThisIsme2 · 25/03/2016 13:14

So I've weighed myself at last, 11 stone 10 approx, although the scales aren't very accurate. It's about what I thought and means I have about one stone 3 lbs to lose.

Not2bObvious · 25/03/2016 16:28

Hi All! Another check in from me, post holiday. Great break away but ate rings around myself, up 2.4lb from my lightest (recap - got from 12.2.6 to 11.6.8 in 4 weeks of bsd)
So I've started a 2nd 4 weeks of bsd and it's going pretty good so far.
Love reading what you've all been up to, keep up the good work. Old habits die hard, dinner company last night so suffering today, pls excuse lack of name checks, I can't manage to hold info in my head for more than 2 mins 😁 But one thing that's stuck is seeing must know that scales blip is just that - proud of you missus 😘

wispaxmas · 25/03/2016 19:52

must, I think I'm still in the phase of flipping out if I have a gain - like last week!

I like your approach to takeaways or indulgent lunches. I tend to just have a yogurt for breakfast if I know I'm going to be out for lunch, definitely. Or more recently I've been having boiled eggs. I'm not a huge fan, but I need more protein in my diet!

MustBeThin · 26/03/2016 09:10

N'aaaww thanks Not2b 😘 good to hear from you. 2lb isn't much at all, it'll be off in no time. Can't believe you lost 10lb in 4wks, bloody amazing.

Well I'm back at 12st 1 Grin I knew it was just bloat, only took 2 days to go this time and I actually think it'd have gone yesterday if it wasn't for the fact I had chippy Thursday night. I'm soooo close to the 11's now, I can't believe it.

I will be having some chocolate tomorrow though, OH bought me an Easter Egg but I will have it in place of my nightly Jaffa Cakes and then Tuesday OH is taking me out for lunch. 😁

PandaBear30 · 26/03/2016 21:29

Nice to hear from you Not2b I'm sure that 2lbs will be off in no time and well done for getting straight back on bsd after your hols.
Must the 11's are touching distance Smile
I was worried on Thursday evening when I last posted on here that having had a bad day at the start of the Easter weekend it would drift into the whole weekend. Well I'm pleased to report it hasn't. Once upon a time it would have done but I'm surprising myself with how much focus I've got this time. I think seeing others on this thread that have had really big losses makes me feel like losing 4 stone isn't just a dream it's doable if you set your mind to it. Thank you Emz for starting this.
Hope you're all having good weekends. Happy Easter all.

wispaxmas · 27/03/2016 14:04

That's awesome, panda, I'm glad things haven't spiralled. Being able to draw a line in the sand and move on is a great thing.

Happy Easter, everyone! I'm allowing myself a day of not sticking strictly to my calorie allowance, but still logging everything into MFP, which is at least keeping me from going insane on the chocolate front (30g of orange milk chocolate is HOW much? ShockGrin), and we had a family lunch out at our lovely local. I walked the dog there and hit my step goal on the Fitbit on the way there, but still only ate less than half the meal I ordered (sausage, mash, and peas) and shared with my DD. Did get caught out in some hail on the way there, so felt justified in a way of ordering something pretty naughty.

My husband has opened up a big Easter egg, though, and I weighed out 30g for me to have this afternoon and am nibbling away at it.

Once upon a time I'd have eaten the whole egg in one terribly sinful binge and felt sick with guilt afterwards. I think allowing myself measured amount of sweets whilst I've been trying to lose weight this time has meant I'm less likely to suddenly lose the plot and go hugely overboard.

PandaBear30 · 27/03/2016 20:24

Oh dear, just totted up my cals for the day and looks like I'm coming in at just under 2000 Shock haven't eaten much chocolate but had a full on roast and creamy pudding. Oh well it is Easter Sunday. Going to go for a long walk tomorrow and aim for 1000 to try and undo any damage.
wispa well done on portioning your chocolate eggs. You'll enjoy them more and have them for longer.

wispaxmas · 27/03/2016 21:17

I went back for more, panda!! I came in at just over 2000 calories today, but with exercise I've burned over 2300 if Fitbit is correct, so at least I've not eaten more than I've (most likely) burned today.

sassytheFIRST · 27/03/2016 22:03

Hi all, I'd like to join if that's ok. I've just discovered I'm heavier than I thought thanks to new scales Confused. 11st12 and 5ft7. However, I have been doing a lot of one to one Pilates recently and have toned up,to the extent that other people are noticing so it's not all bad.

I'd like to lose a stone to begin with. Mfp tells me 1500 cals which is easily managed in theory... Going to run 1st thing tomorrow, aiming for approx 4.5-5 miles so that should kick me off nicely. Smile

MustBeThin · 27/03/2016 22:25

Welcome Sassy

OK day for me, not gone OTT weighed out my Easter Chocolate. OH bought me an M&S easter basket full of all sorts of chocolate. Random sized eggs, easter bunnies, mini egg type things and some other little chocs. Will take me forever to eat it, I still have chocs left over from Valentines day too. Was lovely eating proper chocolate, I took my time and savoured every nibble. Grin

ThisIsme2 · 28/03/2016 06:08

Well I've had a terrible weekend, totm so comfort eating, still feeling ill and coughing - more comfort eating, plus chocolate in the house! I seem to have given up sleeping. My mind is buzzing because I've some stuff coming up I'm dreading, dso I can't get to sleep.

Consequently I stopped logging on mfp last night and haven't bothered today, but I'll get back to normal tomorrow.

aleC4 · 28/03/2016 19:45

Hello all. I started this is in January, did well for a few weeks, and have been faffing now for a while.
After a weekend of over-indulgence at my parents this weekend, I have decided I am back with a vengeance. I tried to buy some jeans on Friday and couldn't get into a size bigger than I thought I was. Sad
Today I have logged everything I have eaten and have been out for a walk twice. I have done 11,000 steps so far. I have set a target of 10,000 every day. Am I right in thinking this, combined with staying under the goal mfp have set me, should result in weight loss?
I think the losses I had earlier in the year were more by luck than judgement!
