I need to lose 3.5 stone - feel so fed up about it I am ignoring the mince pies and Thornton's chocolates! I have lost weight before with a great bunch of ladies on mn. I feel motivated to do the same again and this time keep it off, I went through my wardrobe and found a very stylish tunic I bought in the South of France that I wore once before gaining weight.

Whatever your approach - low carb, Weight Watchers, Slimmers World or healthy eating, all welcome to join me with motivational tips/chat to keep each other going. I find that I don't stick to any plan and eating at meals times/snack on veg and fruit/exercise works for me.

Look forward to chatting with whoever wants to join Smile

GBBO15 · 12/02/2016 19:19

Well done Wolfe, Error, Downstairs, Summer and Fairenuff!!!!!Smile

GBBO15 · 12/02/2016 19:21

Good that you managed to STS Blondes. Hopefully we'll both lose next week.

GBBO15 · 13/02/2016 05:44

Downstairs and Fairenuff - didn't realise you were both doing similar plans. Can I ask are you following any particular book etc? The one I've been reading is excellent and lays out a whole detailed menu but it's just not practical for me to follow something so specific right now as I have a 7 month old baby and just don't have time to eg get up in the morning to cook an omelette etc for breakfast. So I'm planning to just incorporate the broad principles into how I normally eat instead. I'm also breastfeeding, so want to avoid anything extreme or rapid weight loss- I'm happy with 0.5lb-1lb a week.
Anyway, sorry for essay! Interested to hear about your plans.

GettinTrimmer · 13/02/2016 11:08

Morning all GBB I'll google that book you've been reading, I know the others like the Lean in 15 cookery book, I've got it too, and I've tried one recipe so far, planning on doing his avocado eggs tomorrow. Author is Joe Wicks, he was a personal trainer and most of us have a bit of a crush on him Smile

blondes sts is good, it couldn't have been that bad, I remember once gaining 4lb in a week.

I have just managed to do 30 Day Shred without too much stick from dc. dd did a little bit with me, and said it's boring and easy...well it would be for an 11 year old gymnast, trampolinist and netballer! Someone at work who works in another part of building saw me yesterday, and she told me I look different, and asked if I've lost weight Smile this is the time when I have to be careful, as I start receiving compliments and think well, that's my job done and I relax too much.

Hope everyone else alright today?

GBBO15 · 13/02/2016 11:25

Trimmer well done on the shred! I'll check out lean in 15 too- I really like the idea of meals being ready in 15 min as the biggest problem I have now is lack of time. I had thought it wouldn't be any use to me as I'm a veggie but you are too aren't you? Would be worth it for me if even a few recipes were veggie and I do eat quorn so can maybe substitute. I don't eat fish though.
Also congrats on someone noticing your weight loss! Much better sign all going well than the scales.

Fairenuff · 13/02/2016 12:13

GBBO I don't follow any particular plan as I'm trying to change eating habits for life. I have cereal for breakfast (no added sugar so usually weetabix or cornflakes) and chicken or ham salad type thing for lunch, so low carb.

Evening meal is just ordinary family meals with a smaller portion of carbs, bigger portion of meat/veg. It's really easy to stick to because it fits in with work.

The biggest changes are portion sizes and no snacking, just three regular meals a day and that's it Smile

GBBO15 · 13/02/2016 21:11

Wow Trimmer, just googled Joe Wicks. I see what you mean!

Downstairs glad you had a nice valentines meal. I do think it's important to ditch the diet now and again and just enjoy yourself.

I've ordered the Lean in 15 book so hopefully it'll give me some ideas. I saw on his website you can sign up to an online plan which looks good and they say it's ok for breastfeeding. £150 though so need to think about it.
I think my breastfeeding days are ending though. Baby is feeding less and less but eating solids well. But emotional about it as she's just 7 months and just assumed it would go in much longer. Also v v paranoid to make sure eating plenty at the minute so supply good.

Kim82 · 14/02/2016 15:42

Hi everyone, sorry I fell off the thread, we've had a week of everyone being I'll but I'm back now. I lost 1.5lb last week so that is a 15lb loss so far this year which I'm really chuffed with. I weigh in again tomorrow and have been good all week up until today when I have eaten shitloads of crisps and chocolate, no idea why! Hopefully I'll still get a loss tomorrow but we will see.

Welcome back, Kim, and welcome to the thread, Jelli!

I went to the local farmers' market today and didn't buy cake, which I call a result. Grin Going to see family this week though, where sweet things will be harder to turn down. I have told them about it, but still...

GettinTrimmer · 14/02/2016 17:25

GBB I hope you enjoy lean in 15 cook book, you can sub quorn mince and stuff like that, but he is not big on veggie recipes. And you can see what I mean Wink some nice pictures in the book.

Downstairs my dd has just balanced top of the the stairs lifting her legs up from her core , with one hand on the post at the top of the stairs, the other on the top of the banister Shock whilst I am proud of her ability, she worries me sometimes and I would rather she was out while I'm doing the shred! You did the right thing treating yourself to valentines meal, according to Davina, sticking to healthy eating 80% ofthe time will get results.

Jelli Welcome, there are a few of us doing the shred, so stick with us. I have done up to level 1 day 4, not done it today, but doing it tomorrow. I will have to pay attention to keeping my back in the correct position, as it made my back ache. It may be my imagination, but I think my arms look more toned, those press ups really work. Do you find the first set of cardio really hard? Those jump ropes after the star jumps..phew!

Kim well done on your 15lb loss so far, that's great.

Error If there was coffee and walnut cake at the farmers market, I would find that very hard not to buy! Well done.

It's half term next week, and will be challenging, I am going for a meal with friends on Thursday night, promised the dc we will go to Pizza Express and a friend has invited me for lunch, and she normally buys danish pastries. Determined to carry on with healthy eating and will be careful with choices. Before, things have gone badly to pot during school holidays. Not this time!

Kim82 · 15/02/2016 10:19

Morning all. I've not been to my Slimming World group this morning as I had an awful night with my 18 month old, she was awake from 1-5am with a raging temperature. We fell back to sleep at 5am and only woke up 10 minutes before group started so I've had to give it a miss this week. I've weighed myself on my own scales though and it's either a 3.5lb or 4lb loss so I'll err on the side of caution and go with 3.5lb. Super chuffed with that, that's 18.5lb gone in total over 6 weeks!

GBBO15 · 15/02/2016 16:22

Well done Kim!

Hope your dd is doing better now.

GettinTrimmer · 16/02/2016 09:49

Morning all Brew Kim hope your 19 mo has settled and temperature sorted out. Well done on your loss Star

How's everyone doing?

Let us know what you think of Lean in 15 book GBB when it arrives.

I have chickened out of Insanity exercise class this morning, as I feel like I might get shin splints if I do it. A waste of £6 as I had booked and paid, but not feeling up to it. Jelli & other shredders, I did day 5 yesterday, shut everyone out of the front room! Really gave the 'jump ropes' some welly, which is probably why shins are a bit sore.

GettinTrimmer · 17/02/2016 14:35

Heellloo!! Anybody out there?

Kim82 · 17/02/2016 14:58

I'm here! Diet isn't going great today though as I desperately need to go shopping but am stuck under a sleeping toddler. She has been awful today as she has had a reaction to the antibiotics she was given so we've had her back to the gp as she wouldn't stop screaming! She's got new meds now though so hopefully will be feeling better tomorrow.

Because of that I have been living on the dregs of food left over that I can just grab whilst juggling said screaming child - that being 2 cereal bars and 3 bloody packets of crisps! Hopefully I can go shopping when she wakes so can have a decent tea.

GBBO15 · 17/02/2016 15:35

Aw Kim, that sounds rough. You can only do your best. Mine is just 7 months so I've had many days of just grabbing what I can on the run. Hope she gets better soon.
